Default Advice

Hi Guys

I am just about to join a ww meeting in my local suburb. I have never done it before and have approx 17 kilos to loose - can you give me any advice ? I have heard you get very hungry doing this diet I am presuming this is just bad planning ? also have many of you had good success with it ? I want to give it a try anyway really I am thinking the weekly weigh in will be motivation enough to make me stick to it

thanks

I have been on it for just over a month and I haven't been hungry at ALL. Assuming that the PP plan is the same there as it is in the US, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've lost 11.8 pounds in four weeks. I'm very happy with P+!!!

I do not get hungry with this plan, however, I have not reached that 29 p+ mark. I wonder what it will be like. Right now I'm at 35 p+ a day.

I do not get very hungry. In fact there are days I struggle to eat my minimum points. And, of course, the weekly points are there and can be used if hungry.

In general, you will find yourself less hungry if you eat food that have some protein and also those that are higher volume (that is for the same points I can have 3 cups of popcorn or a really small piece of candy....guess which one is more filling).

I've not been hungry yet, UNLESS i've not eaten for 5 hours (like easter, i was hoarding points ). Depending on how you eat, you can eat 3 meals and 2 snacks (im at 33 points). PLUS if you get hungry, you can eat some salads or fruits, for 0 points.

It is going to be a while before I get to 29 pts, and hopefully you guys will help me mentally prepare for it. I'll need to change my eating habits even more. Just got to wrap my mind around it.

First of all, WW is not a diet. It is cognative behavior theraphy that leads to lifestyle changes resulting in weight loss and better health.

There is no reason whatsoever to ever be hungry on the plan. I get 29 points and am always surprised to consider how little food the body needs to feel full. One pork chop, not 2, a small baked potato, not a huge one, etc. Fruits and vegetables in abundance, protein and a little good fat. That's the majority of my day.

Good luck!

Very good point. I think it's an ongoing learning experience as well. I think I've adapted well.

I too have been amazed, not just by what keeps me satiated now, but by how much I really was overeating before! I had deluded myself into believing I was eating healthy and I wasn't overeating THAT much, but I really really was...

I have only been on the program for four weeks and I've already lost two points from my daily allowance. Even so, with your weeklies and your AP, you've still got a ton of points to play with, and I'm able to see where I can make substitutions and where I can work those extra points in if I need to.

I'm also learning to distinguish the different types of hunger. If I've got the munchies, I can crunch on an apple or some celery with a side of Laughing Cow cheese and be fine. If I've got what I call a hunger headache, I know I need some real protein and I'll snack differently.

I haven't had any struggles at all yet. I've gone out to eat, had a special occasion, or celebrated a holiday every weekend since I started, and I'm still losing every week, because I'm staying within my points. Even yesterday - I had the munchies all day and I was craving chocolate. I ate all the healthy snacks I brought with me, and I decided to give in to the chocolate craving. However, I managed to bypass the clearance priced massive bags of leftover easter candy and buy ONE York Peppermint Patty. It was a four point indulgence, and it did the trick perfectly - with no leftovers!
