I lean forward to try to peer over the reader on the desk, but I can never see it.
I weigh myself at home daily, and am looking down. I just tried it with looking ahead, looking down, having my arms in a T formation and having my legs bent - weighed the same every single time.
Your weight loss isn't some smoke and mirrors trick.

It's the result of day after day choosing the right behaviors. Day after day after day. It doesn't matter if you weigh yourself at the exact same time.
If you need to lose 40 pounds, all the juggling in the world isn't going to make the scale go down unless you do the work. Will it be up one day because you ate salty food. Yes. But will the overall trend be downward because of your commitment? Yes.
Don't forget to exhale completely and belch for good measure before getting on the scale. And skip the deodorant until after the weigh in, and clench your muscles (or relax them, I forget) and clip your fingernails.
