weighing yourself

when we go to meetings and get weighed, we have our heads up and look forward.

I was wondering, thinkin:dizzy:g here what to do for next year. Do you think your weight changes when you hang your head over and look at the scale to read it?

Then, at home how did you pick a time that you always weigh yourself?
some mornings, I don't get up the same time because I don't work yet outside the home, ( I will, i'm getting a job as soon as possible)

so, I'm concerned now about having the same time weighing myself as I don't have a scale and should I just do a monthly pass to get the stools. I can buy the calculator but I'm thinking of holding on to some money or rather, putting the money into exercise DVDS vs. WW.

What do you think? :dizzy:

I lean forward to try to peer over the reader on the desk, but I can never see it.

I weigh myself at home daily, and am looking down. I just tried it with looking ahead, looking down, having my arms in a T formation and having my legs bent - weighed the same every single time.

Your weight loss isn't some smoke and mirrors trick. ;) It's the result of day after day choosing the right behaviors. Day after day after day. It doesn't matter if you weigh yourself at the exact same time.

If you need to lose 40 pounds, all the juggling in the world isn't going to make the scale go down unless you do the work. Will it be up one day because you ate salty food. Yes. But will the overall trend be downward because of your commitment? Yes.

Don't forget to exhale completely and belch for good measure before getting on the scale. And skip the deodorant until after the weigh in, and clench your muscles (or relax them, I forget) and clip your fingernails. :dizzy:

@Seagirl! I had to LOL at your post, I'm sitting here miserable and sick and you made me feel better =D

I know it's a horrible habit to get into but I have weighed myself on my home scale everyday since I began Weight Watchers. I wanted to know how certain foods would affect my weight but I didn't want to get into the habit of being disappointed if I saw a number I didn't like. Fortunately that hasn't happened yet and I refuse to let a number dictate my mood!

Every morning I weigh myself (After peeing of course) but I do it naked! I know, I'm a total weirdo but for some reason I think my clothes are going to add 10lbs. If you're trying to save some money then E-Tools is the way to go but if you think you need the extra support then the meetings are wonderful. I have to scrape money together to pay for an entire months worth of meetings but it's totally worth it!

I'm the same way with my daily way ins. I generally take the lowest weight from "weigh in day" and track that. And I track throughout the week on sparkpeople. It lets me weigh more than once a week and I like to see the progression and changes.

;lol @ seagirl.

Girl, sounds like you heard it all. It can get to ya I suppose. I do understand what you are saying. That it will be alright.

I'm going to continue eating what I should.
Don't get bananas over it being 2:30 Pm or 5:46 PM when I weigh myself. Oh and don't forget, you don't have to wear the same stretchi pants you wore last week at the same time either.

lol

Kim I read a lot of your posts. What do you do for exercise?

i know seagulls likes the mountains.

What are the rest of the WW clan doing for exercise.

So, I think I''ll keep the etools. (lol, I had stools in there) but I have time to think about it. There are 3 DVDS I want and I want it tomorrow... no sir. but ya.. lol :broc:

I do Zumba 3 to 4 days per week, a 90 minute Spin Class once a week, and when I'm not doing any classes I usually do 60 minutes on the Elliptical or Treadmill. During the warmer months I walk 5 to 6 miles a day! I just started training every Wednesday to try and tone everything up because after losing almost 100lbs things are moving down south..

tytbody 12-27-2010 06:27 PM

girl you are killing it. You must be getting great results. I'm glad for you. I've learned I don't have the desire to hit it like that anymore. i'm moving, just not as hard. I used to do it, but i'm done with the fire. I like to simmer now.

KimberlyP 12-27-2010 06:35 PM

I'm still losing at the same rate but I really like working out because it makes me feel great after! I used to do it because I thought I'd see this HUGE loss but after a while it didn't matter because it really does make you think clearly and puts you in a better mood =D Any activity is better than NO activity so if you're doing what you can than that's great!

Me too. I think lots of people do this.

I think I"m going to get a scale next year. A good one. now that I've gotten accustomed to getting weighed every monday. Didn't go today because of snow storm.

Koshka 12-27-2010 09:24 PM

I weigh in every morning wearing the same type clothes I wear to WW meetings. (Everyone couple of weeks I weigh on my scale wearing nothing). I go to a morning WW meeting so that keeps it similar.

For me, I tried etools by itself and just didn't get the same results as going to meetings and weighing in there. But, I know that others do fine with doing the program entirely at home.

EvilGidget 12-27-2010 10:43 PM

I weigh as soon as I get up (after peeing) ... and then I weigh after I have gotten through showering and getting ready for work (which is about 45 minutes later)... almost always... it's almost a pound less.

Crazy scales...

BuxomPrincess 12-27-2010 10:46 PM

Wait....I should pee first??!! Just struck my funny bone. I am so OCD that I wear the same thing to every weigh in. And at home, I get on the scale naked. :)
