Boy did I get exercise points yesterday with all the snow shovelling I did. But, I chose not to write them down. I decided it might help not to track them and maybe they will help me lose a little this coming week?
I did try to make my own homemade chilcken pie and fit it into my day yesterday. I did end up using 5 points plus in addition to my 29 points, and tracked them. I wanted the chicken pie and was making an extra one to share with a familyl who has cancer in their household and they need something comforting at this time.
I'm not too worried about using the extra points anyway, as I had so much activity. However, that is not a meal that I will be making day in and day out while trying to be on program.
Today, I will try to do much better.

Linda, it sounds like you did just fine yesterday! You got some activity and used your weekly points that are there for just that reason. Chicken pot pie sounds delicious. I tried to make it once and it was a disaster. Maybe I'll try it again.
Halfway through my weight watchers week. I've been doing well with the exercise and although I track it I haven't been eating the activity points (etools takes it from your weekly budget first and I still have 30 left). I did eat quite a lot yesterday but tracked it all.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello everyone.

Wow Linda, I was thinking about you with all that snow. We got snow here, not like you though, and when I went out walking people had not shoveled their side walks and it was difficult to walk. I felt like I was walking on sand.
That was nice to make the Chicken pot pie for the family.
Spooky, I found when I tried to make chicken pot pie it too was a disaster for me too. It is funny how I have never tried it again.

I have been on plan all week. I need to go grocery shopping so I can stay on plan.

I Hope everyone has a great week.
Take Care
Ann

Linda ~ I'm from Mass, so I am with you on all the snow. My little town got 22+ inches of snow. We are snow day #2 from work and I am slowly going stir crazy LOL

Ems, congrats on the loss!
Spooky, if you want my chicken pie recipe, I'd be glad to share it but I warn you that it is NOT WW friendly, but once in awhile it's and OK thing. You have to learn, I guess, that it's OK to have something you truly love that is a family favorite comfort food once in awhile but that it cannot be a regular thing.
Tonight, I have fish to make up for the "damage" of last night's dinner. But, I have to admit I'm sitting here hungry. I have 2 points left for the day. I will probably have one of those giant fudge WW pops and then maybe some fruit to get by?
We'll see.. but I won't make it through the night without something more.

Do any of you feel that you are not full and don't have enough food to "stick to your ribs" if you have only a salad of some kind for lunch? It was a nice salad and I sliced a boiled egg over top and had a slice of Swiss cheese as well as a slice of deli ham and turkey but it sure didn't last through the day. Had dinner and now I am really frustrated and do not feel satisfied at all.
Guess I need something else....I'm going to look up those "power foods" maybe? Maybe I need something other than dessert?
I know I'm climbing the walls though.

Good morning ladies (and gents?) just want to say that it's a very cold 16 degrees here in NH with about 20+ inches of snow on the ground. What exercise will be for the day is indoors.
I challenge each of you to find a way to incorporate activity in your day today, even if only for 5 minutes.

Also, plan your food for the day ahead and challenge yourself to get in those 2 healthy oils as well as all the other healthy guidelines. I'm having trouble with milks lately.

Last night, when I felt too hungry, I chose not to just have one of those WW desserts for two points. I had a mug with warm milk (2 points) and 1 slice of lite oatmeal bread, toasted (1) with a few grapes. That helped me calm myself and I felt like it was a mini meal of sorts. The WW dessert wouldn't have done the trick. I'm used to having a "dessert" and this was an unusual night time snack for me, but it helped. I also got that extra milk that I needed.

Good Morning Ladies,

Linda, if you don't mind I would like your Chicken pot pie recipe. My family would enjoy it and I could use some of my weekly points also. As for feeling full, I find oatmeal makes me feel full. I am not sure if it is because it is a comfort food for me or what. Some days it doesn't matter what I have I just feel hungry all day long, I am realizing it is not hunger I am feeling but an emotion I may need to deal with and I am sub consciously avoiding. I am reading the Beck Diet Solution book again and I am learning all sorts of new things about myself. It is rather scary for me.

Ems, how is the weather there? Can you get out to walk? I have been walking but it is so cold here my skin is becoming very dry. Oh I also read that if you eat an apple when you are hungry it makes you feel full because of the fibre. I never think to eat fruit for hunger. I am missing out I guess.

I wish I could get ww snacks, I need to do a shopping run to New York to stock up on all my favourites. Does any one have a snack bar that is filling they could recommend?

Hello to everyone else. Have a wonderful day.
Take Care
Ann

Should I dare to put the chicken pot pie recipe HERE? Hmmm... I will have to think on it and write it out. It's more of a "method" than a recipe, if that makes sense. Learned watching my mom make it, you know?
Ann, snack bars never seem to fill me up. My kids like the Cinnamon toast crunch bars as take along snacks.
Funny you should mention oatmeal, had it for breakfast and it's been awhile since I had it. I really need to find more filling foods. Not making it tremendously well in between meals, even when I'm having fruit.

Thanks everyone for the menu recommendations.

I'm doing a little bit better with conscious planning.

Today:
Breakfast: Cheerios + FF milk + orange
Lunch: Veggie Burger + Whole Wheat Bread + Broccoli
S: apple
Dinner: brown rice + beef stew + spinach + chopped salad
S: baby carrots + cheese stick
S: tea + whole wheat bread + PB

And I still have 2 points left over!!

Hello everyone
I do hope you find success in your choices today.

Linda, How are you feeling today. I would love for you to send me the recipe.

Ems, The good thing about rain is that it helps things to grow and look nice.
I don't mind rain too much. How are you doing today?

Hopeful again, Hello, how are you. I find when I plan my meals it is much easier for me to follow it. If I don't plan I go off my eating plan.

Do any of you have a set routine? I am finding I need a routine to stay on plan. When we are all at home just relaxing all day, I want to eat.

What are you plans for the day.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
take care
Ann
