Question Anyone here start journaling in the evening???

Hi everyone! I have heard of some people doing there journal from 5pm to 5pm instead of the traditional morning to evening way. I am a big nightime eater and was thinking of trying this....does anyone here do this and how do you find it? I am curious about the transition over from the regular way to this way if it was difficult? Thanks!

Hi,

A lot of people do it that way. I've been doing it that way for over a year now. It works for me better than starting in the morning.

The transition was easy. Just pick a day and start your journal with dinner. What I did about breakfast and lunch for that day was to eat an average number of points. I looked at those meals for a good week and averaged the number of points I had eaten. Then I ate that amount for those meals.

I can only think of one situation in which I might recommend people not use this journaling method. That would be if they had a real problem with night bingeing. (Not snacking, bingeing.) It might be too tempting to eat the whole day's points before bed and then they'd be in trouble for the next day.

However, if that's not an issue, it can be really useful. I rarely eat after dinner. But if I'm up late, it's nice to have some points to use if I need some food. Then I adjust the next day's points to account for it.

Hope this helps.

I do! I do! I do!!

I love this way of journalling! I usually have a bigger dinner - so this way is ideal for me. I have been doing it since May and its great! I stay in my points range alot more too

My tracker looks like this:

Dinner 11/12
Breakfast 11/13
Lunch 11/13

Its confusing at first - but its really easy once you get the hang of it. I will never go back!

Good luck!!

Hi what she means is: 11/12-Dinner on the 12th
11/13-Breakfast on the 13th

I have done this for several months and will NEVER go back to the old way. Sometimes we eat out for Dinner on the impulse and this is really helpful because I always eat a low point breakfast and lunch.Once you start I know you will love it. Just pick a day and go. Best of luck and hope this helps. Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks Windwood! That is exactly what it means. I just put the date there to not confuse the issue! But that is me.
