I think it's ridiculous to assume the McDonalds was healthy!
This whole discussion/argument is based on personal responsibility and accountibility, the 2 main things I find lacking in American society today
Before anyone thinks I am anti-American, I am a member of the Armed Forces and have served before, during and after war. I am proud to be a soldier in The United States of America, the country the my brother died to defend, my father was wounded defending (yet continued on to serve 30 years total) and my Grandfather proudly served for 20 years.
What I see as the primary disfunction in this country is the fact that there are more lawyers per capita than any other country and soooooooooooo many of them are in it to make money off of shifting responsiblity from one person to another in order to win compensary awards....this mentality has worn off onto our society as a whole. Not only in the realm of personal responsiblity/accountibility/liability but in our societies general dislike of lawyers!!!!!!
This man who made the film, I truly believe came from a good place and he has made some people aware of things they CHOOSE not to be aware of before.
McDonalds was one of the very first resturant (fast food or otherwise) to have their nutritional information available to their customers, folks who don't speak/read English are the only ones who really have the right to claim they had no idea as it's posted all over their stores. If he were eating like the "average" McDonalds customer, would he REALLY be eating there 3 meals a day for a month???? Somehow I doubt it. Adding 1 salad in every 10 days does hardly make up for that fact. Perhaps he should have involved a research company so that he knew better how to come up with a proper base and not look soooo obviously out to shift the blame to McDonalds.
What my kids eat, up until the point they are able to afford their own foods, is 100% the responsibility of my husband and myself!!
What I eat is 100% my responsibility (except when forced to eat chow with my squad).
What my husband eats is 100% the responsiblity of my husband.
Notice a trend?
I don't want my government spending another penny to tell me that high fat, high carb, high anything is bad for me!! I want them to make my schools better, my streets safer, of course maybe that is not fair to expect from a government I not only helped put into office, but also paid them to be there, and protected the system that allows them to have a voice.
