Man you guys...I'm feeling left out here...

So tell me...are there any good workout vids that you can do in a square foot of floorspace?? (that pretty much sums up the vacant area in our tiny place...at least the cats get a workout...)

go to www.cathe.com and check out some of her workouts. she has excellent clips available.

or try www.collagevideo.com, they also provide clips, you can see if there's anything that will work for you.

Actually you need very little space to do Taebo..but do NOT buy the two new workouts, Cardio and Flex. Not at all up to the usual standards...we Taebo freaks are WAY disappointed.

Thanks, Audrey! Sounds like the Pyramid is for me. I just got a ball too, and having fun with it.

I think I will enjoy my workouts more with someone *there* with me. (after watching the clips.)

Let me add re: Cathe, CTX upper and Leaner Legs or "Meaner Legs" as we call them, lol, is a must! Give it a try, if you haven't.

Mindi's right. The CTX weights series is another goodie. The DVD on this is the best deal since you can mix/match. The tapes are setup so that there are 6 workouts... a 20-30 min cardio with weights for 1 upper body segment. And "meaner legs" is a VERY tough leg workout.

Karen, don't forget to factor in the "extra" room in case the kitties like to join you. If I'm working out in the morning, I feed them first so that if they decide to hang out with me while I'm exercising, they are usually in that "after meal" mode and more likely to smirk at me from the couch. Otherwise, it can get very interesting. Nothing like doing pushups to find you CAN"T lower yourself cause there's a feline in the way, hoping he'll get some extra attention.

I really wish I had a video camera tho, for the day we were visiting at my folks. Mom was in the basement doing a Jane Fonda workout (shows you how old this kittie is) and she was on her back with arms and legs in the air, doing bicycles (I think). Lacey was on the mat too.. on his back with his paws in the air. Dad was looking for something in the basement and it was all he could do to get me to come look without making any noise so I could see this too. It was so hard to keep from laughing at them. Mom didn't see the cat at first and thought we were chuckling at her.

I get company for the yoga tapes sometimes.

Seriously, for the cardio tapes, I modify what they do on the screen as I don't have as much room as they do. I'll go left and right, and not make a box around the room. For weights, I usually have enough room. I can set up the step as a bench, and I have a weight tree in the corner. Yoga is easier. I can fit the mat in easily, and we can even manage 2 mats if Brad wants to join me.

Mindi, I've probably lurked over there to get info on tapes, but no, I'm not a VF'er. I suppose it's a good thing over here that I DON"T have the new DVD's yet, as I have too much to do for the wedding, but a girl can wish. This week is looking like I'll only get the coach-assigned cardios in, no weights. But with less than 10 days till the wedding, I really can't complain. Much as I dislike cardio, the runs outside are helping me keep my sanity. And I'll have new DVD's to look forward to when I get back from the honeymoon. (I hope).

I take that the VF'ers who are doing the body blast workouts are loving them, eh?

So far its pretty much a thumbs up over there. They've done Step, etc, and Legs, Glutes so far. I hate Step so I'm not interested in that but Legs and Glutes looks like there's some like and dislike in parts of the workout.

Waiting for Push Pull and the Kickbox one myself.

Congrats on the wedding!

I know this thread kind of got off the subject of I Want That Body but I though it sounded kind of interesting so I thought I'd try it. I just bought it at www.overstock.com. I bought the VHS and the price was $10.79 plus $1.40 for shipping -- so, $12.19 total. Didn't seem bad to me. If anyone has tried this tape or has anymore to add about it, I'd love to here what you have to say.
Thanks!!

This conversation is so interesting. I would love to purchase some videos that I can do at home when I can't make it to the gym. Especially during the winter months. Any suggestions on which of Cathe's videos are the closest to BFL type exercises?

Mayday, I"m still loving the "I Want that Body" tape. This is the end of my 4th week, I think, of doing it Mon, Wed and Fridays. It goes by really fast but you will work up a sweat. Mindi sent it to me when she got the DVD and as we all know, she's a video expert...she has them all! Let me know how you like it.

I guess it depends on what kind of workouts you like? There are so many to choose from..yoga, pilates, strength, step, rebounder is making a comeback and kickboxing are the most popular now?

As for BFL, I didn't do that plan, so I don't think I can comment on what to use for it?

I SHOULD add though that I think BFL is quite similar in SOME aspects to the BodyRx which I did do and I was able to use Cathe Friedrich's workouts successfully for that. You may want to check out some of her work at www.cathe.com.

I got around to reading the most recent posts in this thread last night, and was captivated, because I love videos. I went to the Cathe site for a look-see, and came away with the impression that her workouts are pretty vigorous -- would that be correct? I've been working through some aches and pains recently, and I'm wondering if I don't want to wait on these until I'm feeling stronger. Any advice. By way of comparison, I have several Karen Voight tapes, which I like a lot, and a couple of Kathy Smiths, which I use less frequently.

Mindi, where in the Midwest are you? Are you a neighbor?

Thanks.
