day 6

Sorry that I haven't posted in a few days but things have been hectic. Where we live there is a big ant problem and that isn't good for our house. There were some coming in the walls of our bedroom and the livingroom so for the past 4 days I have been moving everything and washing down walls and rearranging stuff. Very hard workout I have to admit. I have been doing that and my hubby has been working (helped a little yesterday and is off today so is helping. Did the kitchen the first day while he took care of the ants and the livingroom took 2 days since I couldn't move the entertainment center without him but got everything else in here done without help. Today we did Jasmine's room and the "junk" closet. We did alot and it is taking longer but I can still use it as a workout since I do sweat moving everything around and doing all that needs to be done. Tomorrow we will do our room and the bathroom. That will be the end though. That is wonderful it is almost done. That is all for now since we are going get some stuff for the house.

Heh people. Computer booted up. Never know these days. Really want to start a new challenge and think I'm going to. . . even if I can't keep up on the computer.

OK, starting Monday, Oct. 11 (that's tomorrow for me) I'm going to count calories. I can have any amount but I must count, which is something I despite doing!!

Wish me luck.

By the way, I'm thinking of starting a new thread because this one may be getting unwieldy for people who may not have a good connection or so. What do you all say? Let me know and I'll probably start up a new thread next time I can boot up.

Oh, and one more thing. . . to keep me from going totally hogwild. I must post the calorie count along with exercise count here (whenver I can get on the computer.) Here goes. . . . .

I forgot to post that I've changed my goal. I was going to walk for 20 mins. each day but I'm still recovering from some kind of bug so being in the chilly air probably isn't the best idea.

Since I'm wanting my arms to be nice and toned by spring/summer, so I can wear a tank top for the first time in ages, I've changed my challenge to doing at least 75 girly(on knees) push-ups a day. 3 sets of 25 spaced out through the day isn't too hard at all.

Today was day 1!

My D5 is over! 5 more to go! I did it well and strangely, sugar doesn't seem so invincible anymore. Anyway, I'm going to do 8 rounds with this sugar ban in a row (psychologists say that it takes 80 days to make a habit).

Punkinbutt - Your push-up challenge seems very interesting. I might give it a try in the next round.

See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! I'd like to do this too. My goal is to stay off sugar for the next 10 days. I don't use artificial sweeteners, so that means stevia only. Wish me luck! Sugar is always my downfall

So... no sugar, Day 1

Cool Happy Monday to you!

Isn't it a great day to be fit? I had a horrible week with food last week and really didn't get water in like I was supposed to. So I'm starting Round 2 over again today. This challenge is: 64 oz. water daily, no coffee "fru-fru" drinks, limited sweets. I know I can do this; it's just those dang weekends.

Eternal - AWESOME job on losing 4 pounds! I hope I can see results like that soon. I'm envious.

ElisaB, Punkin - Welcome, welcome. Many of us have found this thread to be so helpful and supportive in our weight loss goals. Feel free to drop by and let us know how you're doing anytime!

Dragonfly - Great job w/the sugar. I've often heard "it takes 6 weeks to make a habit and 6 weeks to break one". When you stay consistent and start cutting things out, it really does change your frame of mind. I started eating regular chocolate last week (had been eating low carb and low cal for the past few weeks) and it seemed like I wanted it every hour!! So now I'm getting back to correct thinking...

Gab - YIKES! I have ant problems here in Indiana sometimes too. The teeny tiny brown ones. Sounds like you got quite a workout moving your furniture around to clean up.

Olive - Way to go on journaling. Are you using a specific kind of journal for food, or just writing everything down in a notebook? What kinds of information are you keeping track of? This would be a good goal for me.

Bburoughs - So how was the weekend with veggies & water? That's always my hardest time too.

Hope everyone else is doing good! Have a great week, and don't forget to keep those goals in mind DAILY. Thanks for the encouragement...

Red, I would definately start a new thread.... just post the URL here so we don't get lost!
I knew I would blow it going away for the weekend. So, a new start for me today....
Round 2, Day 1....
So far, it's morning and I've not had anything but coffee yet. We'll see if I can keep in control today! I sure hope so, as my ww weigh in is tomorrow!
Plan on yard work this morning for an activity, will hopefully burn of the cake I had on Saturday night. There was this family birthday..... oh well.

Today is R1D6. I haven't worked out yet but plan on it as soon as I'm out of work. (No sitting on the couch go straight for the running shoes). The weekend was tough but lost another 1/2 pound last week.

Eternal- Congrats!

Olive- Sigh. I think journaling is a great challenge. I am putting it off right now because I don't like doing it. Good luck.

ElisaB and Punkin: Welcome!

Hi!
Love that Thomas Edison quote!
This is still day 1, round 2 for me.... just making one more post. I'm so hungry today, could have eaten about twice the food that I've had and I am holding my ground and NOT snacking! Weigh in tomorrow....

I started the Kathy Smith 5 Day Jump Start program today (see her website at www.kathysmith.com if you want details). Basically it is eating small meals every few hours, with carbs only at the mid-day and mid-afternoon meals. I will also exercise tomorrow.

Goal for the week: Lose at least .5 lb, exercise 3 times before next Sunday.

Have a great week, everyone--

Did Ok over the week-end. I weighed in this morning 163.6. So I'm calling that 164. Thats 4 lbs!! So on to round 2 to keep it off and lose a few more.
Rules this time:
1:No beer
2:No cake or ice cream (note the cookie loop-hole... )
3: dumb bells and/or sit ups every night
4:No eating after dinner
I'll do sit-ups right now and that will be a successful day 1!
1 day, 1 face:

please start a new thread, I'm having trouble with this long one!
