Goodnight Ciecie hope you are well.
Hello Diana How are you?
Thanks for your good wishes.
Luckily I am too ill with throat infection to go to my dance class which is followed by a Christmas meal....so depressed about the poor and vulnerable people in my country and our future after election results.
This week I definitely ate too much and the wrong things....
But today will try to drink lots of fluids to get well and at least have avoided one social dinner! but socialising is a good thing so I regret that.
My university term finishes today so my next big piece of work is not due until January, so it puts me under a bit less stress.
I am thinking of all of you and I will moderate my eating so hopefully won't regain the five pounds I lost! It is only a little bit compared to everyone else here but I don't lose anything on standard diets so do my best.
Peace and Good wishes to all of you. Bless you all for being here.

Default Good morning

Muse, thanks for checking in. I always appreciate your posts. Sounds like you've had lots of stress. It's good your next big deadline isn't till January. Hopefully that helps provide a bit of respite. Take good care of yourself so that you can completely get rid of that cold.

Yesterday, I took in 1280 calories. Very happy with that. One day at a time.

Today's goals:
lift weights, stretch, 1200 calories, 2 liters water, veggies, fiber.

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Friday!

This time of year can be very difficult. Know you are loved and I lift up my check-in buddies in prayer.

Tomorrow is the Christmas party for the church ladies. I am considering my options of how to deal with this, LOL. I can bring a big salad for everyone to share or I can bring my own salad from Chick-fil-a and then bring a bowl of fruit for everyone to share. I think I like to idea to bring my own salad because I feel that keeps me under control to eat only what is mine. Geesh, the mental games we play with ourselves.

Nancylmrn Do you or your DH worry about getting out of the business?

Last night: Basic Stretch
This Morning: Oxycise

Calories for yesterday: 1515 +
Weigh In: 193.2
No Change

Have a Blessed day and a great start to your weekend!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

December 13

Revelations 2:7
'He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.'

Beth and David made a deal that they would diet through the week but treat themselves to a night out each week at one of their favorite restaurants. Restaurant night became the best night of the week. Both Beth and David agreed that they had never enjoyed their food so much as when they only splurged one time a week. They grew to appreciate how good it really was. It helped to make even ordinary meals special and delicious. God has offered us special things to eat. He has created so much to make our lives interesting and varied. We must enjoy these things discreetly and unselfishly. If we will enjoy them within God's plan, then He will reward us with fruit from the tree of life, which will be the finest food we could ever want.

Today's thought: God's food is eternal, and it isn't fattening!

Good Morning!

GranNan: Happy Belated Anniversary!
Diana: Good for you, only ONE coconut shrimp!
Nancy: NPR is National Public Radio...I need to find a schedule, because I'd like to listen to some of their shows regularly. I usually only catch them when I am in my car. They have a lot of human interest stories that I really enjoy. It is around 90.5 or 91.5 FM? I think there are local branches of this station.
Muse: I too enjoy hearing from you...American has more than its own share of problems! Hope you figure out something healthy to get yourself through the holidays!

I weight lifted last night and biked this am. I ate a healhy breakfast. I did have a burger and a frappe yesterday. I found some individually bagged popcorn with relatively low salt and calories at Sam's Club.

I have a new kitty. She is a tortie point/short/medium haired. I just had her checked for feline leukemia/aids and it was negative. I may repeat the test in a couple of months to make sure. She was a stray... I have had her isolated for the past 10 days. My new cat and old cat have been playing footsie under the door...He really wants in the bathroom and she really wants out.

terri -- head thunk, duh NPR, don't know why it did not click
WI nope not again today. I can say my eating was much better yesterday and might weight in Sunday, I am attending a Company Christmas party this evening so I will do my best to make good choices but no promises and no logging...
WO that went well today, the day off yesterday really had me revved up this morning. I have noticed I put in a bit more effort when listening to music vs listening to a book...so odd

Diana yes we do worry about selling the business and the building...DH business was established in the 1940's and he bought it in the late 1970's the problem with selling is there are not many of craftsman around and even if there were I worry that we won't be able to sell the business itself but end up selling the equipment. Then we have the delima of the building, do we sell it with a combo of the business or do we just sell the building or lease it out with the business or just lease......sheesh....and around and around we go. being self employed we have had to think about retirement and how we are going to live on our investments for the rest of our lives. It has only been recently (this year) that DH is considering selling and has in no way made any steps to start the process.

muse sorry it is still so stressful for you, have been thinking of you lately
Rachel, nice job on your calories--I am seriously contiplating joing WW for the meeting to be accountable. On my own I seem to do a lot of backsliding. I am going to have to investigate this some more.
ciecie, whats going on to be so busy today??? inquiring minds want to know

morning everyone!

I'm still here, believe it or not! I have had one shitstorm of a week at work - our early childhood center had online registrations for the first time on our new gateway and it was a real ****-show...people refreshing and clicking and paying up to 9 times! I am still cleaning it all up...

anyway! 163.8 this morning. very slow moving scale...I should say that this is a different scale than before and weighs me .8 more than the other one, which I still have. I don't know which one is the correct one, but I like the other number better. the new one is one of those that measures water and muscle, bone, all that stuff. I am being pretty careful but like I pointed out last week I'm 49 now and it just doesn't come off as easy. I WILL be under 160 before I go to Vegas in June! Most of you know we go 4th of July every year for our anniversary, but next year is my 50th (October) and we're all booked at the Cosmopolitan already - DH doesn't want to go too often so he wanted to spread it out a little, so I agreed to move it to June. We're going in January (30 days away!) for his 59th. June is obviously pool weather and we're at Bellagio - going to reserve lounges at the pool for a day. Gotta wear a bathing suit

okay! menu:
organic coffee w/Reese's creamer, collagen powder, and mushroom powder
hot water w/lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and stevia
b: egg whites and a triangle of wee brie (spreadable) on a gluten free O'doughs plain bagel
l: salad: romaine, feta, chicken breast, zesty lime vinaigrette
I have a fruit cup if I need a snack.
dinner is TBD...we are doing cardio after work so we might go across the street from our gym and get Subway chopped salads. I love their salads! I will only have 2 glasses of wine tonight, and I have had ZERO since Sunday. I may have to South Beach phase one next week because Christmas is looming...can't be too fluffly LOL

see you ladies later! TGIF

This is exactly what we are up against. You have to make sure you have enough coming in because it's not like working for a company and getting raises. And you have to pay for everything yourself, insurance, etc. Today I spoke with the real estate guy and told him that we could not work with the number(s) he proposed and then told him the number we could work with. I wanted some cushion, just in case. DH and I discussed this ahead of time. I told DH about the conversation that I had with the real estate guy, then DH was saying well maybe we would manage on less. It was like he was second guessing and then I was second guessing, etc. But I had prayed before I made the call and asked the Lord to guide me. So, it's done. The thing is once you agree to something, you can't go up. But I put a higher number on the table, I can always go down if real estate guy calls back. I just don't want to have regrets or make the wrong decisions and then regret it later. And once we get out, DH is not in a position with his health to start over in his career or another career. He will be retired.

Hello everyone

Hello Teri, sounds like you can control your eating of chocolate...it's hard to do weight lifting before Christmas I find! I have never done weight lifting, I am far too lazy! Good for you for keeping on with it all.

Ciecie: thanks for your kind words....my inner spoilt child keeps yelling out for lots of nice tasty foods....so somehow need to get round that one.

Hello Rachel I like your goals! Good luck!

Hello Granny Nancy: Thanks for your advice, I ate a whole pizza tonight but I will try and find some Christmas decorations now and maybe clean my kitchen to wear off some calories before bed.

Hello Diana: still going strong I see! Sorry to hear of your troubles. Bless you.

Hello Nancy: where are you? Good luck today and this weekend. Ah just found you. Hello so nice to see you!

Hello Kelijpa: I too had pizza....I bought it for my dad but he didn't want it.....it's easier not to eat pizza when we don't buy it and no one buys it for us....

Hello Syck Girl: Good luck on your quest to get in shape for Vegas. I need a goal... sometimes I wish I was a famous film actresss asked to lose 20 pounds for a film role that was paid a million or so... I am sure i could lose weight then!!!

I am still feeling quite depressed but we have to take the world in its chaotic state and hope and pray that things will get better in every way and we can all get on. OK will try to not watch the news and focus on Christmas instead now.
I think my goal is just to take a little exercise every day until after Christmas and to try not to eat 'fattening foods' such as any kind of snack or pastry.

Hi Everyone!

So I got to work today and DH and I discussed the conversation that I had with the real estate guy. I had misinterpreted DH and we are on the same page. (that's good right? LOL) Anyways, I truly felt that it was not going to workout and and his next phone call would be to tell me that he didn't think it would work out. I actually got a phone call in the afternoon. He said he spoke with some people and he thought we could move forward. I was shocked. So the next door has been opened. We have a long way to go, though. Please remember us if you pray. Thank you.

Diana prayers said. You are so brave, DH and I talked again tonight and he is not there yet...and by that I mean mentally ready to start to let go of a business he started working in when he was 20 and bought out the owners when he was 26(?)ISH...He is now 63 soon to be 64, so this is his baby. and he is not ready to 'launch' her yet without him <sigh> so it will be a few more years or until his new truck is paid off.

Have a great night to all
