Mornin' Chicks~~

Angel~~very good idea on the cherry in the glass of water. Any tips to get all of that H20 in sure helps! Thanks I am going to try that. Congrats on staying away from your diet sprite. A little would be ok, but i'm sure you are like i am w/the coffee. It has no calories, but i know i drink WAY too much of it.
Do you do the weight training at a gym or on your own?

JudyMH~~Glad you got that credit card business cleared up. Scary tho' ! And I take it the grandkids all live close by to just be dropping in. Sounds like that 3 yr old is quite the handful! Good luck. Sending good wishes for a much better day today!

The weather is changing --last night got quite cool. So a good homeade pot of soup would be just the thing to start on.

I never hear about the yogurt thing. Let me know if that works, Angel.
I am doing the 2 bowls of cereal and a regular dinner "diet" right now. Just saw that on the Special K red berries box and i thought i'd mix things up and try it, just to take a pound off and get things started. I sure hope it works. I do eat fruit for snacks, and i wonder what my total calorie count is. I've done points for so long, now i need to look for my book that has calories instead i think!

Anyone here know about the new WW flexipoints plan? I heard they are going to be "looser" about journaling too...i would think that would be the hardest part of WW. I got burned out on the journaling part. But i did lose weight when i attended.

Everyone~~have a wonderful OP day. I will try to pop in this evening. DH and i are going motorcycling soon. It will be a nice sunny day of about 70 degrees, so that can be perfect for wearing the leather clothing needed on a motorcycle ride. Any hotter and one does not want to wear the protective stuff!

Good morning ladies!

I just got back from my walk. It was a beautiful morning for walking. Nice and cool - only 59. I got up right before 6 and did Margaret Richard's Body Electric. Does anyone else ever exercise with her? It's a toning show which I really like. After I finish that I go for my walk. I did get one glass of water in before I left so I'm on my way on my water!!

Judy, I don't know how you can get up at 4:15. I am so impressed that you get up at that time to walk. I have a hard time with the 6:00 time! I'm glad you got that credit card business cleared up. That is scarey.

I've never heard of the yogurt thing either so you'll have to let us know how that goes Angel. Actually this morning I decided I am going to make a smoothie for something different for breakfast so I will get some yogurt.

Everyone have a great day.

Morning Everyone,

Sounds like everyones day has started off well, thats great!

Thinlizzie, I do weight training at home, got two little ones with me all day and no babysitter so going to the gym isn't an option right now. Although there is one here, which is good to know. This is such a small town its a suprise that we even have one. I'm just doing some basic stuff to get me started then will increase as time passes. Have fun on the motorcycle, sounds like ya'll are having nice weather were your at, here (TX) its still scorching hot. I'm really looking forward to fall!

Julie, I've never heard of Magaret Richard, sorry, but sounds great. We have a few shows on here like that but I'm not too much of a morning person, so by the time I get up its time to get my oldest ready for school and drive her in.

The day looks promising, and I feel great!! I'll check back in this afternoon.

Have a Great Day,
Angel

Question QUESTION

The water issue.

Is it really neccessary for us to drink all that water? I mean I certainly know that it's good for you to drink water but it seems as if we are a little obsessed with it.
I am the worst of the worst when it comes to drinking water so maybe I'm just making excuses to benefit myself but so far I've been able to lose by drinking maybe 32 oz a day. At lunch, when I work out and sometimes for dinner. But it's no where near the 8 glasses we're "supposed" to have. I'm just curious, what are your opinions on this?

Have a good day all!

Good Wednedsay Morning All,

I am off from work again today, which is wonderful!!!! needed it badly....and after tomorrow I will just have 2 days to go. When I get off at 2:30p Saturday Jane and I are heading to Nashville for the evening.....can't wait!!! We are going to ride up there and do some shopping and then go out for dinner, and have a leisurely ride home, just listening to music and being together. It is only about 1 1/2 hrs from here, just a short distance, and so much to do....we love it there. Haven't been in about 2 years or so, this will be a treat.

Just finished my 3rd day of the 2 mile WATP tape!! feeling Nikki (my neice did it with me...she has lost almost 50 lbs. doing the LA weight loss program...she started out at abt 230 lbs, and she looks AMAZING!! She only has abt 10-15 more to go to goal weight. And she is done it in 3 mos or so!!! But....she is 21, metabolism is through the roof!! I am so proud of her, she has started dating and she talks to several guys on line, she has really come out of her shell...and she is absolutely gorgeous...not bias though but, she is! My other neice is 19 and she lost quite a bit last year, maybe 40lbs....she has the cute figure and wears all the latest fashions...cute cute she has a steady beau now, about 5 mos, and she is "in love"...talking about marriage already....ugh!!! She just started to college last week. I so hope she finishes first!! But she does "have a mind of her own"...I never had babies to call my own, but I consider the two of them to be mine!!! They are the true lights in my life...God blessed me with them....and I am ever grateful!

Thanks for letting me go on and on and on about them!!!

Natalie, I am sorry to say, but yes all the water IS necessary. Those of us that are heavy retain water and actually become dehydrated!!!! go figure!! It does so many good things for our bodies, best of all it is cleansing, and washes out all the toxins. I was very dehydrated and malnourished before I started this ventrue. My body was screaming for water!! HAVE A BOTTLE IN MY HAND RIGHT NOW Yes at least 8 glasses a day, and the more you weigh the more you should drink. My dietician calculated at least 10-12 glasses a day for me, cant do the 12 but I get at least 10 most days, always 8 at the very least. As far as trips to the bathroom that someone mentioned, after a while those do decrease, when your kidneys start filtering out like they were intended to do all along...duh!?!

lkbangel: I hear you girl about that heat 95 here yesterday and heat index over 105!!! too much for me, I just cant take it...We dont have central air at our house, and only 1 window unit!!! talk about misery!! and of course despite the same amount of electricity usage, our bill goes up $30.00 this last month!! and this month we anticipate even more of an increase! but, by mid next month and the following month should go down considerably. And in October we normally do not have to use any air or heat.....low bills nice to meet you by the way!!! looking forward to getting to know you better in the coming days and months!! We are doing this thing!!

Have any of you checked out the links here on the 3fc's website...there are great success stories, and photos. very inspirational!!! check them out!

Blonde, good for you for getting that walk in, 59 degrees!!!!!! I am sooooooo jealous!!!! Never heard of the Margaret Richard's program either.

Greetings thinlizzie!!! have a great day

to all the rest of you chickies!!

JudyMH, glad to hear that your ordeal with the stolen cc is over!! that would be

check in with you chickies later.

Angry Just a Quick Post

We haven't gotten a thing moved yet. Yesterday I was suddenly hit with a flu bug. Miserable day of throwing up etc. I feel better today, but still achey. Maybe we'll get a little bit of the stuff moved tonight.

I have to pipe in on the water issue-my husband read in his Muscle and Fitness magazine that you should drink 1oz of water per pound of weight. I cannot imagine doing that just yet, but I try to get about 200oz of water. Your body does get used to it eventually.

Well, I have to get going. Time for another trip to the bathroom. UGGHHH!!!! I hope I get over this soon.

Hi everyone Sheila here, I am new to 3fc and was wondering if you had room in your group for one more.
A little about myself. I am 40 years old and live in nw ohio. I have been heavy since the third grade(long story). MY heighest weight was 255 lbs in Jan of 2002 after 2 years of being sick and off of work. Once they figured out what was wrong with me and that there was nothing that could be done I decided that it was time to really get to work on my weight. In the next year i lost 50 lbs with weight watchers.
For the last 6 months my weight has been at a stand still and i am starting a new program.
My goal for this week is to keep my water up and to keep up with my food journal

Hey Howdy Hey

Shelia~~Welcome aboard!! Its always great to make new friends and to have one more person to share the ups and downs of weight loss with.

Okay, I did some searching and found a few articles on the net about the water issue. Here they are:

http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/NU/00248.html

http://www.pbs.org/americaswalking/f...ldrinking.html

http://www.water.com/your_health_new...340_hydcal.asp
This one calculates how much water you should drink

Those are just a few, of course there are hundreds. According to what I've read the major reason to drink water while dieting it to keep from becoming dehydrated. Dehydration it seems has something to do with gaining weight, because instead of thinking your thirsty you think your hungry and you eat instead of getting what you really need, a drink. According the the calculator, link 3 above, I should have had 123oz of water today. I don't think so. I think I'll just stick to drinking an amount of water that makes me feel the best. Which I did again today, by the way. No soda, just coffee, water, and tea. Yippee for me!!

On to other things...

I got my workout in today, did about 40 minutes with the weights and feel just a little stiff, mostly in my legs, probably from the walking.

Honeys been home sick all day, he has the flu also, so I do feel for you Amanda. Try to take care.

I guess thats about it, sounds like everyone is doing alright.

Until tomorrow,

Angel

Hi Ladies, Well today went alot better. Hubby and I got up our usual time and took our walk. I only had 2 GS's with me today. We went to the store early this morning got some kid friendly food, and some other stuff for grandma. Got thru there without them demanding a whole lot, I think they were still tired. The good news is that the credit card company thinks they might have found the culprit who has been using our card. So if they have, we will press charges. Kids and I went to the park and spent a good couple of hours, so they were nice and wore out after lunch and went to bed. I actually got a couple hours of peace and quiet. The good news is my DH has come to the conclusion on his own that he needs to shed pounds. I didn't say anything to him because, there is nothing like the pot calling the kettle black. I'm not the 110 pound person he married either. My problem is after they found out what my digestive problems were in 1996 I went on a gluten free diet and started to gain weight like crazy. Well at least we have a mutual support system now, so I'm happy about that. Welcome Sheila, we always love to include more people. Now for the water issue. Yes unfortunately we need the water it keeps us hydrated, and flushes out toxins. Actually if we don't drink the water it slows down weight loss. I actually have a membership in the local gym, but with the grandkids I don't get there like I should. Got a couple of karate tapes but still have to get the moves down. I feel so clumsy and uncoordinated, hopefully I will get it and be able to do the moves. Well have a great evening, Judy

Smile THANKS!

I'm happy to have more info on the water issue. I am the worst one for drinking water and I don't want to have to force myself if I really don't need ALL that much. It is perplexing because there are so many articles on the subject. So many different views. I guess I'll just stick with the most common and longest practiced one and try to get my 64oz a day. That is in some form or another. Thanks for your opinions, this was irking me for awhile.

Now on to better things...
I've been on plan for the past week. I missed my workout last night because our power is out in the complex. Apparently it was out since 2PM yesterday. I ran errands after work and didn't make it home until 7:30, just in time for darkness. Of course we have no flashlights in the apartment so we had to go back out and get them. The worst part is the power was still out when we woke up this morning. UGH! I am hoping that it's back on by the time I get home tonight.
Other than the power issue I am doing well. On plan as far as eating goes and the scale showed me 209 this morning so that's great news.

Now it's back to work for me. Have a great day all!

I almost forgot;
WELCOME MOTORMOM! You're going to love this group!

Hi everyone. I did my toning exercises this morning and got a walk in. It's really humid here today so I'm glad I had a friend to walk with today or I might have cut the walk short! Now it's just working on that darn water! Boy, I have a hard time with that.
I looked at that website Angel posted and I should drink 91 oz. of water. I have a hard time (and most days don't make it) getting in the 64 oz.

I started my day out really good yesterday but ended up going out to lunch with a friend to Taco Bell. Then later out to dinner with another friend. And, I didn't pick the low calorie things to eat either!

Tonight I am going to go to a high school football game. It will be different going to the game because my ds is out of high school now and not playing football and my dh won't be there cheering. He was always a loud cheerleader!! But I will be with friends so that will help.

Sheila, welcome! I am relatively new to 3fc too. This is a highlight of my day though checking to see how everyone is doing.

Take care everyone.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. My 16 year old daughter and I signed up for a yoga class at the y today. This will be the first yoga class for me but they said it was for beginners so I am game for any thing. I am also doing a women with weights class but I have lifted before so I am really just doing this for a refresher ( high school was a long time ago)

Hello All!

Welcome Sheila! That Yoga class sounds like fun. I hoping to be starting the Y soon!

Well I had a pretty good day. Had to go to Chicago for a work thing. Dh and I work at the same place. He has been there longer then me though. He won an award and was honored for all his hard work. He also won $250 of which he bought me some clothes! Isn't he great and I am proud of him.

I unfortunately missed weigh in today because of the trip. But when we were shopping I wanted to buy a knee length jean skirt. I actually fit a size 7 but I bought the 9. I am just not so sure of myself yet. The 7 fit but seemed a little tight for someone my age. These teenage girls helped me and they said it looked really cute. I felt like such a dinosaur trying to figure out how these clothes are supposed to fit these days!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! My computer is acting up so hopefully it will hang in here! See you soon!

Hey all,

Julie~~I'm soooooooo glad I don't have a Taco Bell locally, I would sure be in trouble, LOL. Don't worry about it, it was one day, hopefully things went better today!!

Sure sounds like everyone is doing GREAT!!

Beth, a seven WOW!! You may not have bought it but I bet you still felt great!!

Shelia its great that you and your daughter can share in the Yoga class together. My 6 year old is always wanting to walk with me but I tell her its mommy time.

I did good again today, I've had 120oz of water today, I didn't think I could drink that much but I did!! I also got my walk in, 30min, but I'm still sore, hopefully that will go away soon. I'm thinking about switching a couple of days next week to bike riding. Do both walking and riding and when I'm not doing that do the weights. I got a brand new bike just begging for someone to use, and I better since I'm the one that talk my honey into letting me get it. Food wise I did fine, I think I should have eaten a little more than I did actually. I had 3 yogurts and for dinner I had steamed cauliflower and carrots, with a tomatoe and a little fat free ranch. Just doesn't sound like much. It was a lot of cauliflower though.

Anyway, I'm sure glad too see everyone is doing so well. I know we will all make our goals!!

Take care,
Angel
