I weigh in weekly but I don't have my WW meeting this week due to the holiday. Its an at work meeting & we figured we'd have too many people out to hold it. So I have to weight until next Wednesday to weigh in.
Made it through the parties on Saturday and did really well! I passed up dessert at the first knowing there'd be something better at the next. So proud of myself for that!! Bought a treadmill on Saturday night and put it together last night. Haven't really had a chance to use it much besides making sure it worked. It came with iFit and I haven't had a chance to look into that much either. Any plans for the 4th? Our local carnival is right across the street from us so we head out of town. This year we're going to the inlaws to help pack stuff up for their upcoming move. Thankfully this time we'll have the camper with us so at least we can get a break from the smoke. mayo Tell me about it! She's supposed to be using it strengthen her heart after her heart attacks but she won't stop smoking so it's really not doing her any good. Hi Grinch! Good luck! What plan are you following? Coolmom Don't think like that! Maybe we'll blow this place at the same time! Summertime Nice job! JennyButler Woo Hoo! I hate clothes shopping as it is. I had the opposite this weekend. I finally went through my dresser and closet and packed away stuff that was too small. Hopefully I get to pull it out soon! Betty There's nothing to be scared of! Do you have a friend or relative that would do it with you? Or do a fun one and bring your kids! Busy weekend for you! |
Kidlets - Good job this weekend! Totes jelly of your treadmill. My older son is only 3, so too young for a fun run, and I only have one friend who runs. I wish I knew more people to ask, but I think I like running so much because it is a solitary sport and I tend to be a loner.
We have no plans for the 4th, but on the 5th, we are presenting at the Virginia Governor's Latin Academy at Randolph Macon. We do living history of the ancient Romans. I focus on toys - I needed a way to keep the boys somewhat entertained. ;-) |
kidlets - congrats on getting a treadmill, that's so exciting!
BettyB - wow, that sounds like an interesting presentation. Having you been doing that a long time? Today I am 172.4 |
Mayo - about 4 years now, but I only started lecturing/teaching about a year ago. Before that, I did demos of yarn spinning with a drop spindle (I was never very good at this) or grinding wheat into flour.

Mayolover, thanks for the tip, I never thought about thrift stores but since I could probably fit into more of the selection now it could be a good bet!
Kidlets, well done on your successful party food dodging! And how cool to have a treadmill in your house! I'm sure youŽll be in your skinny clothes soon with all that exercise you'll be doing right in the comfort of your own home!! Your plans sound interesting Betty, hope you have fun! I think on the 4th as it's a Friday we're planning a whole weekend away, hopefully at the beach but we haven't decided anywhere exactly so I think it will be camping - very excited! But the prospect of the food situation worries me a little, I suppose tinned foods and things like nuts and fruit can travel well enough....hmm, better go to the market and stock up!! |
172.0 this morning.
Jenny -- camping sounds like it will be alot of fun, I love camping though I prefer to do it in cooler weather. Preferably without mosquitoes. Not sure what we are doing this holiday weekend, hopefully something fun will present itself! |
No weigh in for me this week which kinda stinks because I think I've done pretty well. Oh well. I'm hoping by the next one I'll be out of the 170's. So far I haven't been able to have back to back losses since I re started in December. That's been due to my inconsistency issues. I've made some tweaks and changes so I have better plan on how to stay on plan!
Finally tried the new treadmill last night! Yay! I tried one of the preprogrammed workouts and lasted all of 10 minutes! It was WAY too hard so I moved to a manual workout and stayed on an additional 35 minutes. Next week my goal is to try to get up earlier before work to get my workouts in. It seems like too many things tend to pop up in the evenings and would be too easy to skip a workout. Have a great Holiday! I'll be offline until Monday! |
Jenny - do you have consignment shops in your area? We have one decent one (good prices on clothes), and I hit it up a few times for clothes on my way back down to the 12s (of which I have a lot, and hopefully won't be in too much longer).

Hey! Hope everyone had lots of fun on the 4th!
So, I had a great and crazy weekend, not too much off plan food considering I was pretty stranded when it came to eating anything fresh, but I managed ok! And, we had some beach games and lots of playing around in the sun which might have helped me to lose a little bit this week, so I'm down to 171.5, a 0.8lb drop, which seems to be a common weekly loss for me these days - why not a whole pound, huh body? Good luck with your on-plan plan kidlets! Thanks for the tip BettyBooty, we have a bunch of consignment stores here, that's a very good idea! Thank you! Happy losing this week y'all!! |
I didn't do too terribly bad but I certainly could have done better. Oh well. I managed to get some activity in so hopefully that counters some of the poor choices.
Mostly my problem was mindless eating. MIL keeps jars of everything on her dining room table - peanuts, almonds, chocolate covered peanuts. That's where all of the visiting takes place so I can't move us into another room to chat. We'll be going up there a few more times this summer so I have to find a way to handle it. New plan to get in my workouts on the treadmill in the morning is on track! I'm 1/1 so far! I'm usually not one to get out of bed 1 second earlier than I have to so I'm hoping I can stick with it. Though the rest of the week I'll have to get up a tad bit earlier. I'm leaving work early on Thursday and am trying to make up as much time as I can. Jenny I too love consigment shops! I buy 90% of my clothes for family there. Keep with it! a loss is a loss and they add up! |
It sounds like my weekend was not too different from yours, kidlets. I had an OK but not great weekend food-wise, but I am not weighing in until Friday because it is my TOM and I know I ate a few too many Doritos and just generally feel pretty yucky.
I think I may focus on weight training for a few weeks over running because it is too bloody hot for the dogs to do it with me. I do throw on the 20 lb. weight vest when I take them out for our fairly fast-paced walk. Our ancient Roman presentation went very well, even though I was busy corralling a newly-mobile 15.5 month old who never slows down. Got plenty of exercise in that day for sure! |
Just dropping by to say I lost 3.2 over the last 2 weeks! Woo Hoo!!
|
Been good & on track this week, so keeping my finger crossed for a good weigh-in tomorrow!
|
170.2 today. I looked back through my posts and I joined the 170s thread in January. 6 months I've been here! Keeping track of my foods the whole time, started weightllifting...it used to be so easy.
|
Eh, still 171 this week. Oh well, at least it is not a gain.
