Default Help with calorie counting app

I use LoseIt to keep track of calories and u was wondering if signing up for the deluxe version would make the food database more useful? It only seems to give tbsp and tsp and cup measurements and I don't like to measure like that. I need grams and ounces so I end up searching for my foods through google and then make custom foods in the database. Anyone else do this?

I switched to MFP b/c of the very reasons you listed.

For the few weeks that I used it, MFP almost always had measurements of 1g or 100g, which made things easy.

I measure everything in grams and I've never had a problem finding stuff on MFP. Even really obscure stuff which I often eat as I live in Korea.

OK I'll give MFP a try again, thought my personal database on LoseIt is quite extensive now.

I started with loseit which I preferred until I realized that MFP can let me chart for tomorrow where I work nights it's preferred.

Whereas that method works great for some people, some of us are unable to follow that example. I happen to be one of them. I struggle with a food addiciton and if I don't count out everything I am eating in advance, I tend to overeat without realizing it, and surprisingly, I over eat on the healthy stuff. And I gain. Some people are just better at IE than others. I am stoked you are one of them, counting calories sucks, but sometimes, that is the only thing many of us can do, so counting every little thing makes a huge difference in our successes/failures.

I don't eat after 5 pm, haven't in eons. Some people just have a hard time with IE. Nothing wrong with it, just some people can't do it. Usually, people who are trying to overcome an eating disorder of some sort or another. Seriously, good for you that you can do IE, lord knows I wish I could. I tried for two months and gained 9 pounds eating veggies, lean meats, and occassional fruits. Some people just have to track those calories

I like MFP a lot better, I'm really bummed it stopped working on my phone. I even uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. I was happy to realize I could still update everything online, but it isn't the same.

I'll try it for a couple of days simultaneously but it seems to have a similar database to LoseIt. I look most things up on google and calorie king because I like to measure most my foods in grams, I rarely scoop out 100g servings of anything. I serve myself what I want to eat and weigh that. This morning I had 148g of yogurt, 56g of sliced banana and 41g of almonds. There is only one way to calculate that and I have custom foods of calories per gram.

I too cut out sugar, all breads, and try to be careful about fats. But if I don't measure things out I'm likely to indulge in healthy foods just as easily. I don't see any post by Robert anyway, was it removed?

I wonder if there are any other calorie counting apps that are not free that cn be better.
