Help with calorie counting app
I use LoseIt to keep track of calories and u was wondering if signing up for the deluxe version would make the food database more useful? It only seems to give tbsp and tsp and cup measurements and I don't like to measure like that. I need grams and ounces so I end up searching for my foods through google and then make custom foods in the database. Anyone else do this?

I switched to MFP b/c of the very reasons you listed.
|
Really? I remember I had to do the same thing with mfp
|
For the few weeks that I used it, MFP almost always had measurements of 1g or 100g, which made things easy.

OK I'll give MFP a try again, thought my personal database on LoseIt is quite extensive now.
|
I started with loseit which I preferred until I realized that MFP can let me chart for tomorrow where I work nights it's preferred.

Good for you, Robert.
I totally second MFP, love it! |

I tried for two months and gained 9 pounds eating veggies, lean meats, and occassional fruits. Some people just have to track those calories :)

I like MFP a lot better, I'm really bummed it stopped working on my phone. :( I even uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. :( I was happy to realize I could still update everything online, but it isn't the same. :(

I'll try it for a couple of days simultaneously but it seems to have a similar database to LoseIt. I look most things up on google and calorie king because I like to measure most my foods in grams, I rarely scoop out 100g servings of anything. I serve myself what I want to eat and weigh that. This morning I had 148g of yogurt, 56g of sliced banana and 41g of almonds. There is only one way to calculate that and I have custom foods of calories per gram.
I too cut out sugar, all breads, and try to be careful about fats. But if I don't measure things out I'm likely to indulge in healthy foods just as easily. I don't see any post by Robert anyway, was it removed? I wonder if there are any other calorie counting apps that are not free that cn be better. |
