Well, after I posted yesterday... Today I had to post something, and I ran to the post box (it's what... Half a block?) I can do that now! I was so happy... I haven't had a NSV for a while. Told the bf about it, and what he said was pretty much "so what? Anyone can do that". He did go on to say I'm doing really well, losing weight a sensible way, not doing any fad diets or going to extremes.

Question is: am I being over sensitive about thinking that was a pretty **** reaction? If I look proud of something, just agree with me, damnit! :/

It is such an awesome feeling to have support from those around you. I've tried multiple times to lose a little weight. I'm not that old, only 23 but i've probably been trying since i was 16. Every time i gave up, i was accountable to no one and my family always had horrible food in the house. This time though my boyfriend has been there for me every step.
He doesn't stop me from having treats and when i say that i want something he gently asks me if i REALLY want it. To which i usually question myself and then the whole thing gets dropped. But that's what helps me.
My parents on the other hand are the exact opposite. Anything i do is never enough. I have lost 7 pounds since January 1st and my mother proceeds to tell me not to tell her anything until i have lost 10, because that's a real weight loss.
It just makes me that much more thankful of my boyfriend. Because of him i have made it a whole month eating well, the first time!!

Although my hubby has been supportive I think he does have a small fear that my losing weight will cause me to leave him. He is also dieting so he tries to help me figure out the right foods and exercises to help me out.

I know I would be hurt if my husband gave me that reaction. And not "anyone" can do that. Heck, just a few short weeks ago, I couldn't walk around my back yard or up a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to drop! So you know what...be proud!!! It IS an accomplishment!

My husband has been proud of my victories, no matter how small. Today I had to do 30 second runs followed by heel lifts and 1 minute of walking intervals. He came outside and quietly watched me. When I was done, he told me I looked great running, he was proud of me and that just 2 weeks ago I couldn't run 10 seconds without difficulty!

Hey..it may only be 30 seconds at a time now, but if I'm not proud of that, I won't make it to 45 seconds...or a minute. And my goal right now is to finish the 5k training in 8 weeks, the most 10 and go on to do an actual 5k!

I think him letting you know he sees the progress you are making him does save him from being a complete jerk, so at least he is letting you know he does see your effort!

I told DH about some men being concerned their partners would lose weight and then leave them. He just looked confused. I asked if he worried about it and he just looked at me like I'd grown an extra head--of course not. He said he's happy for anything that makes me happier and healthier.

He is quite skeptical of the Beck Diet Solution tasks and eating exercises, though, but if they work for me, that's fine. I don't mention many specifics to him, because I don't want to argue about why they're good ideas. (So, he's not perfect, but that's okay, because if I'd ever met the perfect man, he'd have been looking for the perfect woman, and I'd have been s*** out of luck.)

Haha! Quite true!!! My husband and I are imperfect in mostly compatible ways.

My husband is supportive especially with food choices. We've mostly switched away from fatty meat choices, like pork and beef sausages and changed to turkey. It was a serious adjustment for him. We both lack some serious will power though and he has a wicked sweet tooth. Mostly he eats sweets out of the house or gets single servings. If he's having ice cream or something, he'll usually eat it while I'm in the garage working out so I don't even know what's going on.

He tells me I'm beautiful daily even if I have a hard time believing it. I've gained a lot of weight from the bliss of a new relationship, into having two babies, stationary job, etc. He's never once complained. I don't think he worries about me leaving him because we both know we're the most compatible people for each other. I could probably look most of my life and never find another person I could be around for more than a few hours at a time, let alone marry!
