I've just started drinking tons and tons and tons of ice cold water on Monday, and I'm starting to really hate it. I don't drink sodas or fruit drinks so it's not like I'm craving them instead, I'm just getting really tired of the water. (We don't have any lemons so it's not like I can 'spice up' my water with a lemon slice) And then when I decide not to drink another glass of water I'll get mad at myself and think that if I don't drink it I'll just get fatter and fatter. Drinking tons of water drives me crazy because I feel all weird and feel like I can puke up all the water I just drank. (Plus running to the bathroom all the time isn't that great haha) I do drink some green tea every now and then throughout the day, but now I'm even getting tired of it. I'm on spring break right now so water doesn't matter, but my main concern is drinking all that water at school. Just drinking all the water here makes me have to pee at least 2 times every hour haha. But I can't do that in school due to the fact that in class we have "passes" that we can use to go to the bathroom. But we only get three of them each quarter. And 3 passes will only last me about 3 days. So do I seriously have to drink all this water???
(Sorry for the stupidness of this post)

For my part, I drink in response to thirst and that's it. I almost never drink plain water. I get most of my fluids from coffee, tea and juice/soda water combinations, and haven't noticed any ill effects on my health or weight control.
yes, its healthy to drink water but if it is something that is causing you such stress, don't worry about hitting some water quota.
i recently just bought those crystal light packets that you dump into a bottle of water and i think they're fantastic. at work, i would normally drink atleast 1 bottle, i use 1/3 of these packets in a bottle and now i drink atleast 2, sometimes 3.
something to consider. plain water gets so boring after a while, so i feel you there. if going to the bathroom during class is something that concerns you, consider taking it easy during the day and drinking your water early in the morning or in the afternoon after school. it seems crazy to me to restrict someones bathroom usage...what if you have a small bladder??
p.s. the packets are 5 cals/serving. 2 servings in a packet..but like i said, i spread the packet out between about 3 bottles.

How much water are you drinking? You don't have to drink gallons of the stuff, but 1-2 quarts per day will make you feel better and help your body get rid of extra water weight.

That seems like a good idea.... we have like trillions of those little crystal light things, I just never thought of using them because I though they would just make me fatter..lol
water is a way for your body to detox all the bad things you put in it and drinking alot water is a huge aid in weight loss , I also use crystal light packages and this helps to add a little flavor and little calories to my diet i enjoy th varity they offer and it turns the water into a good drink. Good luck and I hope this helps.

To be honest I have no clue how much water I'm drinking lol. All I know is I've been drinking like 8 or 10 giant glasses of ice cold water.
Don't drink if you're not thirsty. Crystal Lite is artificial junk but it is an improvement over juice or soda if calories are what you're watching, so using it half strength in a water bottle isn't the end of the world.
But chugging water just for the sake of it? Bleh. Drink to your thirst and no more than that.

I'm on a diet program and they say you must drink 64 oz a day. At minimum. And another 8 oz for every 20 pounds you want to lose, and another 8 oz for every 15 minutes you work out. So I end up around 120 ounces a day, because I work out so often. I've lost a lot of weight, and noticed that whenever I drink all my water, I seem to have higher losses per week. It sucks. I'd talk to a teacher about it, if I were you though. Most teachers will understand if you have a reason for needing to use the restroom.
You don't really have to drown yourself in the stuff. Water can be a helpful appetite suppressant, however, enough to hydrate the body is all that's necessary. You CAN keep yourself hydrated but not have to pee every 5 minutes. Monitoring by urine quality is the easiest way to tell; it should be a clear to a light yellow and have a faint odor. (Unless you've taken a supplement such as B12 that causes it to go all neon yellow.) Darker yellow with a stronger odor means more fluid is needed. After a little trial and error, you'll figure out your particular body's needs.
The prescription to drink a particular amount of water is actually not based on any research (at least not that I can find). We do need to be hydrated, but can get hydration from everything we drink (including caffeinated beverages) and from a lot of the food we eat. So, I never worried about how much water I was drinking during weight loss -- but do drink more when it's hot or I exercise.
So, to echo what a lot of people are saying, you do not need to chug a lot of water to maintain hydration and lose weight.
ugh I hate drinking water when I don't want to...usually I get a big glass when I get to work so I drink it throughout the day without thinking about it, but I don't force myself - I get through about 2 16 oz at work at 2 20 oz after a work out...I should probably do more but I really don't believe in forcing myself. I really liked this article about water by my personal guru - Jillian Michaels, it helped me out re this issue:
I keep water with me at all times, but that's because I'm a thirsty woman~!
However, I think the "absolutely must have 64oz per day" is a myth that's been busted. The original study that gave birth to the eight-glasses commandment actually found that you need to consume about 64oz. a day from all sources, including water from food and other beverages. This figure was usually misreported as eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day.
So now we know that ALL liquid is part of the deal. Coffee, soda, juice, whatever - you even get water in the veggies & fruits you eat. Of course, the best easiest way is plain simple H2O! But feel free to "dress it up" with lemon or lime wedges, or Crystal Light or whatever. Count your morning coffee! Count that diet soda! Count that glass of orange juice!
I drink when I'm thirsty. I drink before I eat a meal. I judge my intake by my pee color. Dark yellow means dehydration. Light yellow is good, but mine is always almost clear.
From what I read you should drink about 2 liters a day, and that's without it being too hot or working out. Then drink another or more if you're thirsty. Also, if you eat a LOT of sodium it is good to hydrate more, it will flush it out quicker.
I feel your pain about going to the bathroom frequently. That's the main thing I hate about drinking a lot of water (I don't mind the taste, though. It's the only thing that quenches my thirst).
On a side note . . .

Those rules about leaving the class have probably been instituted because students often covertly use cell phones to text in class, and sometimes they want to leave the classroom to call a friend or just text more openly. Besides, having students enter and leave disrupts the lecture, audiovisual lessons, group work, etc., not to mention that the teacher has to re-explain instructions, announcements, etc. for those who do this. So, although it may seem ridiculous on the surface, I can definitely understand why schools would have such policies.
