Angie I wear them. I have since I was 18. It took a little while to get used to them but I can't wear anything else now. Joe and I jokle that even when I am pregnant :yikes: I will still wear them. Isn't that just a lovely vision? My suggestion is to get the ones with the very thin sting in the back. If you get to big in can kind of hurt.
Echo passed her 2nd trial last weekend. :cp: I think she will be coming home around April 14th. That is a good idea to have a pool for the dogs. I wonder if she would get in it or just drink from it. I took a little break but I need to get back to work. Can you say addicted to the site? |
Wet and windy Thursday
Hey everyone. It's so dreary here today, it's affecting my cheerful attitude. I should be thankful the weather was beautiful on my day off yesterday now that i'm stuck indoors behind my desk. Blagh! Only 1 more workday. Hooray. I'm on the phone on hold waiting for a merchant service representative...been waiting for a good 7 minutes. Good thing it's an 800 #. *sigh* Oh yeah, I had some Godiva Belgian dark chocolate ice cream yesterday. Talk about decadence! I ate 1 serving only and it was worth every ounce of fat grams :T . Thanks Gargoyle.
Hey Angie, so close to the 140's. How exciting! I remember wearing a thong way long time ago, when I was skinny and my butt was firm. Geez, that was a VERY long time ago  . I'm not in any condition to wear butt floss now or in the very near future :p . Hey, to each his own. I do remember feeling a little extra sexy while wearing them though  . If and when I get my butt back in shape (a nice shape) then maybe I'll consider it. Rick would definitely love it since he's a bootie man for sure. Kempy, congrats to Echo, such a good dog. I have to keep our muttweiler out of my son's wading pool during the summer. My boy wants to play but if the dog gets in there he kinda torpedoes all the kids and gets grass and dirt in the water. It's funny to watch but kinda dangerous  . |
What are her trials Kempy. Is it like an obedience trial or showing how well she retrieves? How is her paw. She looked so cute in the pics you sent last time.

Hi there chatty girls,
I tried to get in a while ago and I guess the site was down? I couldnt get here at all. Anyway today is WI day and guess what? I lost another 4.5#s and that puts me at 26#'s gone in 6 weeks. I'm so excited!!! I bought a 25# lb bag of kitty litter and OMG you gotta pick one up at the store just to realize how heavy that really is. That will keep me going for a while I'm sure. I told you yesterday I think that I had to be in a seminar class all day today, ugh it was so boring. Then my boss wanted to go to lunch and she was driving and stopped at Arbys. So I ate a chicken wrap sandwich and a baked potatoe. I opened the potatoe and OMG there must have been like 3 tablespoons of butter on it, so I immediately scooped that off and put it aside. But I have to stop and think I did very well seeings how just 10 short weeks ago I would have had some huge roastbeef sandwich and onion rings or fries and a dessert (they sure looked good) so I think all in all I did well with my choices today. I could have had salad but I have salad all the time.....anyway, I'm still happy with myself for today. Hugs to all, and hope you are all doing well. Sandy |
WOW Sandy You are losing girl!!! 26 pounds is a huge accomplishment! Your lunch sounds fine to me. I used to go to Wendy's on Saturdays and get a potato and grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. Then I changed it to a grilled chicken and off to TCBY for a fat free yogurt. YUM! Are their chicken wrap sandwiches good? I have never had one.
Noelle your ice cream sounds great. I am so addicted to the BB chcolate brownie yogurt so much so that I ate about 2 -3 servings of it last Saturday. I figure that splurge is better than my usual eating patterns. haha I am trying to practice not bingeing all the time. That is the hardest part for me. |
Yeah Sandy! Awesome! :cb: Melting away I tell you, you are so inspiring.
Hehe, I had a funny revelation today...I actually weigh less now than what my driver's license says  . OK, I was about 8 mos. pregnant when I last got my license but in reality, I put my "normal" weight down instead of my current pregnant weight down at the time--I was probably 15-20 lb heavier than what it actually said. Oh I can't wait til next year when I can renew it and be all svelte and sexy--and to have the weight number be as small as the first time i got my license....145! Maybe smaller even, but I'm taking one step at a time. Have a good night all. |
Sandy that is awesome. When you think about what you have lost in terms of everyday things it really hit shome doesn't it?
Angie Echo's trials are called hunter retriver trials. It just means that she has mastered what she has learned in her duck school. Noelle I don't think I have been what my DL has ever said. You know I always lie. I didn't get a chance to run this afternoon . When I got home from work Joe told me that we were going to have dinner with his day and we ended up at a Mexican rest., and you know that I have never met a margarita that I didn't like. |
Hey guys, I posted last night. CAN YOU BELEIVE IT???
|
Thinking about buying a fold up treadmill.
I've been advised to buy one that has a motor at least as big as 2 and a half HP. I'm guessing Oshman's would have one. I'd rather see it in person before buying it than order one online. Anyone had experience with the ones that fold up ? Kempy - Did you get your deck finished ? That is strange that a rain dance can't be found online. I wonder if any Indian tribe sites have one? I just haven't looked yet. Thank God Texas doesn't make you put your weight on your driver's license ! Our personal info. is just height and eye color. I always make up a lower number than I weigh when I donate blood...The only requirement is that you weight at least 110 ! So I say 160, even tho' it's higher. They don't care that I pull a number out of thin air.....it's obvious I weigh over 110:lol: Figured I'd stop lurking so much and drop in to say Hi to everyone here. Hope you have a great weekend ! |
Hey Gar, glad you are back.
The started to set the posts for the deck yesterday afternoon so I am hoping that they will get them into the ground today just incase it deceids to rain. I havn't touched to truck so I am doing all I can to stop it from raining. I don't know anything about store bought treadmills. Being here at the gym I have access to really good ones. |
I have a Sears Proform fold up treadmill. I haven't had any trouble with mine. I would recommend to buy the extra service plan though just in case...
|
Hooray for Friday
Hey there chickies. It's a sunny day here in Hawai'i nei, looks like the clouds have blown away at least for now. Angie/Sandy, what are the temps in your neck of the woods? Sounds like it's warming up nicely. I would probably be freezing my butt off if I went there though, I bet.
Gar, I have a Proform crosswalk(?) treadmill which I bought back in 95-96? It still works great (yup I tried it out this weekend) , but I don't use it much since I can usually walk outside 350 out of 365 days of the year. Sorry, I'm not very helpful am I? Never had problems with the motor and it's pretty sturdy too. It's pretty old technology compared to what's out there today though. Oh yes, I must thank you for the suggestion of Godiva Belgian dark. It was heavenly. :T Kempy have you folks lived in your house for very long? I think a deck is a great idea for a house, especially since you don't have any neighbors out back. Rick and I live in the downstairs of my parent's house. It's a 6 bedroom house so they've got the upstairs and we've got the downstairs. Everyday on my walk I go through one of those 'planned' neighborhoods. There were a few houses on the market (of 3, the highest prcied was $380K :yikes: ) and I would love to live in the area but if we were to move out I think my parents would sell. That's been our family house since 1963. Maybe one day soon I'll talk to my parents about 'selling' it to us if they'll consider it. They're getting up in years and I would hate to see us 7 sisters in a dispute about it. I'll cross that bridge when it comes. Anywho, I've got to stop here and get some work done...I've got a 'hot date' @ lunchtime w/my son  . Washu/Chris/essey and anyone else, where are you gals hiding? Come out come out where ever you are... |
We have lived in this house for 1 year (The day before Thanksgiving made the first year mark). We have already painted all of the inside so now it is on to the ouside. Joe still would like to redo the tile floors in something a little nicer. They are nice now but they are a little to light and you can see every little thing that hits the floor. We want to get granite countertops in the kitchen too. Maybe then we will be happy.
I wish we still had the house that I grew up in. I love tha house. In fact I still have dreams about it. Weird huh? |
I do that too Kempy! The house I grew up in(at least until I was about 10) wasn't even really nice but we moved to the woods and I missed my house in town so much.
Weather is nice up here. It is sunny right now so once I start to walk I get hot enough to take off my jacket but don't get too hot. I did get a sunburn on my face this morning because we just hung out on the deck all morning soaking up the sun. I think I might lug out my patio furniture tomorrow. I can't wait until we can open the pool The steps take up too much of the deck But I am getting way ahead of myself since it is still an ice cube. |
Hey there girls,
Thanks for all the encouragement. The weather is nice here on the coast too, in the high 40's most days and somtimes it even hits the low 50's. But, they say maybe snow on Sunday/Monday? But being on the coast, I think we will get mostly rain? I hope!! But the mud is so bad.....our driveway is like a mud bath. I don't know how close the houses are there on the island mele, but here, I live in a town with the population from the year 2000 census report being a grand total of 782. No that is not a typo, 782 resident population in my town. So I have a huge front lawn and a huge back lawn and side lawns too? I can see my neighbors house because the trees have not sprouted their leaves for the year yet, but once that happens you really cant see. We have a 3 bedroom raised ranch house, which if you don't know is a one floor house on top of a half exposed cellar. We can finish off the cellar if we want to make a bigger house, which we plan on doing when the money is there. Anyway we are a happy little family with it right now. Well gotta run, Hugs to all, Sandy |
Sandy, That joke was so FUNNY! It jumped the **** out of me and I didn't even have the volume on. So being the great mom I am I called the kids in to see a ghost. Brittany(my oldest) had a death grip on me screaming the whole time. HA HA HA. Imagine 3 kids screaming at the top of their lungs!! I swear I could see their tonsils wiggling. I am waiting for Jay to get back so I can get him.
|
Glad you enjoyed it, I don't know everyones e mail address, so here I will post it here and everyone can go see..... you will have to copy and
Subject: Fw: Hows your eyesight? This is really cool..... Read this first then click the link... This is pretty neat. Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house who lost her husband during the civil war. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He never came. So, they say she still waits. They caught this photo of what they claim to be her. This is wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the picture. It took me a while to find it, but when you do...it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions. To save you some time, concentrate around and just above the table. Best not to focus too much on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window. Click on the link below for the picture. For an added touch make sure your speakers are turned on; it's faint but you can hear the ghost talking sometimes in a low murmur. Look at the picture....the image will take about a minute to appear home.attbi.com/~n9ivo/whatswrong.swf |
WEIGH DAY!!!! I lost 1 more pound. It isn't much but at least it isn't a gain. How's that for glass half full? I hope I get a better week next week because at 1 pound a week it will take me 6 months to hit goal. EEEKKKS!!!!
I hope everyone has a great day! |
Angie, 1 lb is a great job, look how far you have come. I know you want it all gone now, so do I, but we will have to wait and let it go.......it will be gone some day!! If we continue eatting right and exercising then we are doing all we can do, the rest is up to the body. Keep up the good work....

Kempy
I went to Oshman's website to look at fold-up tread mills. Those things are expensive ! The one I found with a 2.5 HP motor was $699. ! I haven't looked at Walmart yet. They have a few. If you think a light colored floor shows every little thing....a very dark floor is much worse. Ever had a black vehicle ? After you wax it, you only have to drive it a few miles to see specks of dust on it. If you're changing the floor tile to a medium shade of whatever color you were thinking of, it won't show dirt as quick as light or very dark. We have 8" square ceramic tile on the floor in our kitchen. I didn't think about it at the time, but I would never buy tile again that had an irregular surface. Always buy flat tile.....It's too big a pain to rip ours out and redo it. Granite counter tops sound Very nice. It's overcast here, but it's not supposed to rain for at least another 5 days. But what do the weather people know.... Is there any other job where you can be wrong so often without losing your job ? I only lost 2 and a half pounds in March with all the household clutter cleanup. Normally I lose from 8 to 11 lb.s a month after the first month.....But I tend to do big projects better at night and it throws off my whole schedule. At least now the big stuff is over with, and I can get back on track better instead of not just falling off the wagon, but getting run over by it. Sounds like everyone's on track better than me at the moment, but it's getting better. Anyone else here watching the Shield marathon on the FX channel? We always liked The Commish, and we're watching the Shield now. But if Michael Chiklis wasn't in it, I wouldn't bother with it. Everybody have a fun weekend ! |
Good morning mi ladies
Happy Saturdy. Just a quick post before I head out the door for my walk~~yes, a walk on Saturday, that's new to me  . I am down 2 lbs this week, excuse me while I do another happy dance  . That's 39 lbs down baby! :cb:
I took my son out to lunch yesterday to his favorite fast food place here, Zippy's. He loves their chili. I had a Boca burger on a bun, no sauces, w/a tossed green salad. They didn't have ff or low-fat dressing so I had to do with oil & vinegar. Had it on the side and dipped my fork~~see? I am learning to eat out. Then last night I took him to see Piglet's Big movie. That was sweet. I bought the boy one of those movie kid's packs so I didn't get myself a huge, honking bag of popcorn. I only snuck a couple of handfuls from him while drinking my diet coke. I'm doing good if I say so myself. Angie hang in there honey. A # lost is a # lost! You know the second time around is a bit harder--I lost all of my weight the first time in 5 mos, that was 50 lbs, 9 years ago. This time it's been 5 mos, 39 lbs but I'm happy doing it this time. And I know this is the last time I'm gonna go through this. You're my inspiration, keep on keeping on! I'll be back later in the day. Have a great weekend everyone! |
Noelle You are doing so great girl!!!!
I got an order of lomein for supper tonight. I figure I have been craving it and maybe it will help jumpstart my metabolism. I have been so good for so long I figure it can't hurt me too bad. There are no bad foods right? I am doing this for life so maybe a meal of Chinese once a month or so won't hurt me. I did buy some thongs today at Walmart. Of course I wasn't looking and put it on wrong. I am such an idiot. I bought a pair of size 10 Faded Glory(Walmart) jeans. They fit so I guess I can't complain. I know the name brand jeans are sized alot smaller so I would have to wear a size 13/14. I hate that. It makes me feel fat. I only bought one pair of the jeans because I don't want to blow money on clothes that I don't intend to wear to long. hehe HOPEFULLY!! |
Hello, I just want to give my 2 cents on treadmills. We got ours 6 months ago. I wanted one that I had researched online that was about $2200. Dh said no. So we got a Proform at SEars. Definatly got the extra warrenty because I knew it wasn't a great treadmill. It was &699 plus like $130 for tha warrenty. Well it died about 3 weeks ago. It got used 3-5 miles a day, 6 days a week. So Sears came out and ordered me a new motor, running deck and running belt. For free. Practically a new treadmill. It is a huge investment, but well worth it if you put the miles in. I'm glad I knew to get the service contract because we usually don't. All my research paid off. There are a ton of treadmill reviews online. Good luck!! And happy walking.:)
|
Thanks Angie and Laney, and anyone I've missed, for your treadmill info.
I've discovered that it Is worth it to get the extended warranty sometimes. Especially with vehicles. Guess I'll go check the treadmills at Sears. |
Would you believe that it is snowing out??!!!??? GROSSSSSS!!!!!!
Has anyone seen the new Dairy Queen commercial? The one with the pregnant lady that starts screaming at the car ahead of them to move so she can get her icecream? I swear to god that is me sometimes!! haha I woke up wanting to pig out again today. What is wrong with my brain? Do I have a problem with looking good? I must. |
You guys sound like this weekend has been really good to you. Our weather here has been crazy too. It was overcast yesterday and kind of cool and last night got to 38. That is insane for this time of year here. Tonight it will be 36! I thought I lived in Louisiana.
Well, the deck is finally finsihed. I am going to get Joe to show me how to use the camera so I can send some before and afters to you guys. I is WAY bigger than we thought. I like it though. I think when we marked it out with a string the patio was still down and it kind of created and optical illusion. Now, I can't wait to go buy furniture for it. It will have to wait b/c we are out of $ now. |
It is supposed to snow here tonight too along the coast. They say by the a.m we will have 1-2 inches of slushy messy stuff. Like it's not muddy enough. Angie, remember a little ice cream is okay, just not the whole container. Allthough today we had a party for my son, mil and bil all together for their bdays that have just passed. Well I ate nothing all day long because I knew we were having brocc. lasangna and mac and cheese and salad and bread for dinner. So I figured I saved all my points for that and I ended up having a sliver of angel food cake and fresh strawberries with coolwhip on it. But like I said thats all I had today, so I think I will be okay. Below is the broc. lasagna recipe, it is soooooo goood. And if you use the Campbells Healthy recipe soup and the low fat mozzarella cheese and the skim ricotta its not all that bad..... enjoy (I did) and I only had 1 small very thin slice of french bread with NO butter!!!!!
BROCCOLI LASAGNA 2 (10 ¾ oz) cans Brocc. Cream soup 1 (10 oz) pkg. Frozen chopped Broccoli 3 Carrots, sliced thinly 1 large onion, chopped ¾ lb mushrooms sliced 12 lasagna noodles 2 (8 oz) pkg. Shredded mozzarella cheese 1 (15oz) ricotta cheese 2 large eggs · In 2 qt. Saucepan over med-low, heat undiluted soup and frozen broccoli until thawed. · In skillet over med-high in 1 tbls. Oil cook carrots and onion until browned. Reduce heat to low, stir in ¼ c. water. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until veggies are very tender. Remove to a bowl. · In same pan heat 3 tbls. Oil and cook mushrooms until lightly browned and liquids gone. Stir in carrot mixture. · While veggies are cooking, prepare noodles as labeled on box, drain. · In bowl mix mozzarella, ricotta, and eggs. · Preheat oven to 375°. In 13x9 baking dish spread 1-cup broc. Sauce. Arrange ½ of the noodles over sauce, top with ½ of cheese mix, then all of the carrot mix. Add ½ remaining sauce, top with the noodles, cheese then sauce. · Bake 45 min. or until hot. · Let stand 10 min. before cutting |
Sandy, I will have to try that recipe for me and the kids. I love vegetable lasagna. YUM!!!
I have been a bad girl tonight. I made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and Jay brought home some more creme eggs. All I have to say is it is PMS time and I am gonna use that as my excuse! Tomorrow is a weekday and it is always easier for me during the week. I will get on track and I will lose 22 more pounds!!!!!! Kempy, I would love to see pics of your deck. Mine is covered in snow right at the moment. It looks like it is supposed to be cooler this week. Maybe I will be stuck on the elliptical all week. I actually lose weight quicker with that then I do walking so maybe that won't be too bad. Noelle, How are you doing this weekend? I need you to hoist me back up on the wagon! |
Well gettting the pics posted last night didn't work. Joe brought the cable that we needed to work. He will try to remember it he said. I really do like it but it needs to have some plants around it on the ground so that it doesn't look so big.
I didn't get up this morning in time to get to the gym but I am going to run when I get off. There is no reason for me to head home and sit on the sofa. I don't have to cook dinner b/c it will be just me eating it so I need to make sure thatI get out and move my body. |
I love landscaping around my yard Kempy. We did a flower box with the paving blocks around the side of our deck and a light in the little lawn with a flower box around it. It looks so cute with the pool. Our pool has little specks on it so from a distance it looks like lillies.
This year we are going to fill in the rest of the yard and fence out behind our house(Where the neighbors are) and then I would like to find a way to do some landscaping in the field that the dogs wouldn't bother. |
Do wildflorwers grown very well up there. I love it when there are fields of wildflowers. When I was in junior high they threw out seeds behind the football field and they are still there. It is so pretty all of the different type of colors there are.
|
Yeah they do. I have to finish planting my big box this year. I want to redo the stones in the box on the front of the house this year too. So much landscaping so little money.
|
Monday: Day of Recovery
Burp. Excuse me :D . Good morning ladies. I am still full from eating too much of everything yesterday. It was storming for most of the day (I guess everyone had cr@ppy weather?) and although we did get to go out in the morning to the flea market (for the few hours it stopped raining), the rest of the day we laid around, played w/the nex X-box and ate junk. The day ended up w/a BBQ as usual. I have a family or carnivores! Hamburger patties, smoked sausage, shortribs. I did throw some portobello mushrooms on the grill which were really gooooood--but I ate too much of everything, period. :ink: Hey, we just made a new garden planter box thing in the backyard too. We filled it up with all kinds of potting soil, topsoil and the stinky manure. We're waiting to see how much it settles after the rain stops. We're supposed to get more rain for a few more days. It's sunny out now, but there are still clouds looming overhead. It's humid as heck.
I love Mondays, the day to get away from the weekend and get back on track. Happy planting everyone. Hope there's much better weather for all of us real soon. I've got to get back to work. I'll check back later. |
I am having such a hard time getting on track again!!! I know I am PMSing but geesh!! I made these peanut butter chocolate chip cookies last night and YUM they were so good!!! I want more tonight! I am in a baking kinda mood!! Maybe it has to do with the freezing weather and all the snow on the ground. Me and Jay went for a walk tonight and just about froze to death. His face was so red he looked like a tomatoe.
|
Its nice that Jay goes for walks with you Angie!! Nice quality time. No-one goes with me, but I kinda like it that way, I get it done and don't have to wait or keep up with anyone. And I get to think about myday and my life and eatting habits.
Gardens? Well, I do not have a green thumb. I like the plants that you put in and they just grow!!! Don't need care. Thats my kinda garden;) . |
Angie help! My evil twig sister made 2 9x13 pans of Magic Cookie bars ( you know, graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, coconut and evaporated milk? ) . I went home for lunch and they were baking in the oven...I had to leave immediately after I finished eating since I knew if I stuck around I would've had one, then two, then.... I hate PMS. I am so *****y today it's not even funny. Poor Rick, he's getting the brunt of it--calling me on the two-way radio and I let him have it and it's nothing to do w/work. I am such a grouch today. It's a good thing I don't really feel like eating--guess I'm still full from yesterday. Rrrrrrrrrrrrr!
|
Those Magic Cookie Bars sound good! It is a good thing I don't live near you or I would be there eating them right now!
I wished I could do a vegetable garden. I say every year that I am going to do it but it looks like alot of work. Plus I don't like to weed(Spiders!!) |
I don't have a very green thumb, but we plant jalapenos every year. They're very hardy and difficult to kill.
If you're not experienced with growing veggies, or you don't seem to have any luck for whatever reason....try jalapenos. But not habaneros....they take 90 days to start showing up, and we've never gotten a habanero plant to really "take off". Plant the jalapenos in your yard where they will get all day sun, if possible.......in the ground, or in a container. You could almost say that you can't water them too much. Water daily at first, and then thoroughly every 2 - 3 days once they're "established" and have gained some height. Some of the peppers will be "duds" and remind you of grass or bell peppers.....but most will be warm or hot. (For those who aren't pepper tolerant, that's warm = blistering, and hot = "critical mass") |
Fat Momma's Having Trouble
I have Know idea what is going on in my body but I have NO desire to diet this week. I just ate 5 peanut butter cookies. I can't even pretend to want to diet. I just don't want to do it! I am still exercising and hoping my period starts soon and I can get my groove back but for now there is no groove to speak of. Maybe I subconsciously am getting small enough for it to be noticeable and I am scared I will gain it all back again for the town to see so I am sabotaging myself. Or maybe I am just a weak fat women.
I will get it back but it may take until my period has come and gone. |
It must be in the air...
Angie you are not a weak fat woman. You are human. You are strong--look how far you've come. You're very pretty--just look in the mirror, I see your pic everyday and see your slim smiling face. Old habits die hard. I had some Magic Cookie bars last night too, late at night while I was folding the laundry and nobody was around... I really hate that even though we're consciously watching what we're eating and it makes us feel good, it's too darn easy to "slip back" into the "old" way of eating. It must be that PMS. Hate to make it sound like an excuse for pigging out, but I know it's happening to me too. This yucky feeling will pass.
Gar I think I'll try your recommendation of growing jalapenos. My dad loves very spicy foods (he's Chamorro from Guam) and my sister and i are really into Thai hot, we're trying to build up our tolerance to it for when we travel. I hope that Asian flu gets under control or I don't think I'll be traveling anywhere. :( We grow what we call Hawaiian chili peppers, really small but packs quite a punch. Don't know what it's real name is. Sandy do you have any other low/no-fat dessert recipes? I have a mean sweet tooth right now and if I must eat something I want to at least make an attempt to have something semi-healthy... |
