 Hey there all,
What a day!!! When the boss is in, I am so busy, she finds stuff for me to do. Oh well I guess thats why Im here....LOL Actually I love my job, I really do. The food is all good with me still and the exercise too. Tonight is Evans bday party wish me luck. Dear hubby is gone for the weekend fishing so I'm all alone, except for Evan and his 3 friends. Alexis is staying at my moms thank goodness. I am taking the boys to the movies tomorrow, think we will see Kangaroo jack. Check in later girls, have a nice night!!! Hugs, Sandy |
We have been really busy these last few days. I think it may be b/c Mardi Gras is over. I also think it is b/c bathing suit season is coming and everyone is starting to freak out.
THE SUN IS OUT!!!! I don't think we have really seen it for a few weeks. I start to feel yucky when I don't see it very often. I am sure everyone is that way. |
Sandy, :hb: wishes to Evan :hat:. Good luck controlling 4 boys during a party! We saw Kangaroo Jack a few weeks ago. Fun movie for kids but I have a hard time seeing "Vern-o" from Stand by Me (Jerry O'Connel) all grown up and skinny  . He's kinda cute in a dorky kind of way.
Well TOM snuck up on me this morning, almost a week early. Hmmmm, what the heck is going on? Early, late, early, late. I guess my body can't get used to all the fluctuating hormones when the fat cells go up and down. Anyway, still feeling good and on track so that's that. I was wondering why my bodacious tatas were getting sore  . I crack myself up... Anyway, just winding down the afternoon and thought I'd pop in. Have a great weekend girlfriends. Later! Noelle |
I am down 2 more pounds of Butter!!!! I weighed in at 157 this morning. I'll check back later but I have to squeeze in a walk before my sister gets here to take the girls.
|
Way to go Angie!!!! Are you going away for the day? Sis coming to get the girls? Have fun with hubby!!!
|
It would have been 3 pounds but I went up yesterday from 156 to 157 but now I know why! My period just started!!! YEAH!!! I was actually really pissed when I got up this morning and was still up. I ate only my 3 meals yesterday and exercised for an extra 15 minutes to balance out my splurge on Thursday. Now I know it was just TOM. I feel better.
My sis is going to the bar and wants Brit to babysit. I was looking forward to attacking Jay but now I can't. DARN!!! |
Isnt that always the way, stupid mother nature has to stick her ugly head in and mess everything up. My dh has gone up north and could not have any fun with him before he left either cause of mine~~~oh well over now so we will have a hay day time on Sunday night.
How old is Brit? Old enough to babysit I take it. My oldest is now 11 today, and I have started leaving him alone a little at a time, but I still can't leave the 5 year old with him, they would kill each other before I got home. So this year I will have to put her in daycare 2 days a week when I work, my mil will take her 2 days and I only work 4 so that takes care of that. Sandy PS) the guys went fishing somewhere called Topsfield, so they wernt coming your way this time Angie. But I gotta tell him about your honey buns, you say they are as big as the plate? He loves honey buns and cinnamon rolls are his fav. |
Brit is 11 too. She will be 12(oh my god is she that old already ) in October. This is her first time babysitting but my sis will be just up the road and I am about 5 minutes away.
I will take a pic of one of the honeybuns tomorrow and post it if you want. They are pretty big. My kids are going to get Chinese today. Okay, I am having lobster and spaghetti(my favorite) so I am not too jealous. haha |
I see you eat Lobster and spaggetti a lot. Do you buy fresh lobster or what? I mean my hubby is a lobsterman, but I don't even get lobster this time of year.....lol....
Yeah the age of kids, sure goes by fast. I never realized how fast. Now a more personal issue, on your weight thing at the bottom your high weight is in the 260's, was that when you were prego or just large? I was just wondering. I mean I am striving to loose the first 100 and you just make it seem possible. I know it's possible, but so much easier when you know someone who actually did it. |
Don't have much time, so this is just a short note to suggest to Kempy to buy a gallon of water and weigh it on the scale.
Then you can multiply by however many gallons you like. Offhand I don't know what 5 gallons of water weighs either. |
Happy Saturday
Good morning ladies! Congrats Angie on the 2 lbs. :dancer: So TOM hit you a little early too huh? Me too. Slight differences for me and you this week: You lost weight, I didn't. I "got some", you didn't  ROFL  Now that I think about it, I would've taken the 2 lb loss over the ya know... nah, who am I kidding? I've noticed that as we've gotten older, quantity has dwindled while quality has vastly improved. So there. I am such a goof.
So you're going to taunt us with a picture of your plate-sized honeybuns are you? drooling already... :T Well as I reported on the challenge thread, no loss for me this week. Still holding @ 183. I haven't had an OP weekend for so long. I am going to try very hard today. I usually do great during the week then whatever weight was lost is packed back on the weekend. It takes me the week sometimes longer to get back to my starting point *sigh* . Sandy, you're hubby is a lobsterman? That must be some tough work. Tell him I said thank you very much. I love eating lobster. I love eating crab and shrimp, oysters, mussels...I love eating, hence my presence on this site. My hubby used to fish on an aku (tuna) boat during the summers when he was a boy. He loves the ocean and sun and surf. I can't swim, avoid the sun for the most part and only go to the beach if I'm forced too. Opposites attract in our case. Well, gotta get my butt up and moving. Kempy, Chris, Washu, Gargoyle and any other lurkers out there, have a great weekend and be safe! |
 the cat washing... I have a few scratches. She got me good in one place, it actually bruised ... ok, I'll spare Angie the details... We started out in the sink, but she got all feisty so I threw her into the shower and held the door closed while I targeted her w/ the nozel. She made the most god-awful sounds... but for the most part behaved.
good year on the taxes, I guess. I also got a refund, had to pay mucho last year... Oh, state visits would be so much fun! We'd have to go the Pike Place and have a ball. Fresh seafood, fruits and veg. from Yakima... however, we'd have to do WA before LA 'cause I don't think you'd ever get rid of me Kempy. RE: aligator meat, sounds interesting, I'm game. Has anyone ever tried Ostrich? It's a red meat, sposed to be much leaner and healthier than beef. So, I weighed on WEd.(?) and had lost 2#, down to 173. I weigh in today, and I'm at 178!!!! :yikes: I know that I haven't eaten perfect, but I haven't been that bad... however, I have eaten alot of salty foods... and not been drinking enough water... kick me in the butt girls! I KNOW what I should be doing, but I'm just not doing it. Chris - good to see you again! We're all so excited about the baby. When do you know 'for sure', and yeah, how long 'til it happens? It is so great that your family is behind you both w/ this too. My thought are with you. :goodvibes Congrats on all of the losses and maintains!!!! The rest of us gotta keep movin', right. :high: Later -W- |
Sandy, I weighed 265.5 pounds about 2 years ago and I lost it all and got to 130 then I just kinda lost track and gave up until I got back up to 206.5 and I came here. It was pretty easy to lose it but the maintaining was harder than I thought and of course Chinese would bloat me up 5 pounds and I would get frustrated and eat again. I got to the point where I figured to **** with it if I am going to gain weight AND exercise for 1 1/2 hours every day then it isn't worth it. Now I know it was all worth it and then some. I think for me it took gaining it back to appreciate it and I intend to maintain this time no matter what. I just need to keep my cool if my weight fluctuates and stop thinking in terms of all or nothing.
MishWashu, I would like to try ostrich meat too. I heard it is very healthy. I can just hear your kitty now. MEOOOOWWWWW!!!!!My cats are so feisty today it must be spring fever. I actually buy 2 lobsters on Saturday and pick them then split the meat into 4 portions and mix it with vermicelli, garlic and lowfat parmesan. Me and Jay eat it for Saturday and Sundays suppers. It cost $16.00 for the lobster today so I figure that is still cheaper than Chinese for 1 day. |
MMMMmm, Angie I've only had lobster once, at a bbq. Straight from the cooler to the boiling water, then to the plate. by the time it was through, it looked like the lobster had won teh fight I had so many sratches and cuts. Your spaghetti sounds delightful.
Mel - how is your weekend going? I've installed a new safety harness on the wagon for you. It's made of bungee so that even if you do fall off, you get snapped right back on. Pronto. Well, I'm just checking in on a lazy Sunday. If the weather holds I think I'll take the blades to the lake again. Hope everyone is having a good day. -W- |
Washu, I think the harness is working! I had a bit of an episode late last night but I've been really good today--it's a miracle for me especially on a Sunday. We're having crab legs tonight for dinner so I'm being careful right now. Thanks! We're having Seattle weather right now. Really gray skies and a slight drizzle. Looks like it's going to pour tonight though.
It's not been a lazy weekend for me at all. I *****ed about it in my journal...we've been cleaning up the clutter big time at our house. I kind of like the physical activity though. Makes me feel strong. Roar! Also makes me feel really punchy--like I want to kick my bonehead BIL's butt! Anyway, just took a breather and thought I'd check out the posts. Have a good rest of the day all. |
HONEYBUN!!!
Here is the honeybun. I am not trying to tempt anyone but I had to show how big they are. Sorry!!!
|
APPLE FRITTER!
Here is an apple fritter. I really don't see how people eat a whole one.
|
Okay Angie, is that a small plate or a big one (dinner plate)
and my dh says could you fax one over and he will taste test....LOL |
It is a big plate. The styrofoam ones you can get for suppers at Walmart. Tell him if I could I would be more than happy too. hehe
|
I guess I have to cave and buy some new sneakers. With all the walking we have been doing this weekend my pinky toe has rubbed on the next one over and boy doesn't it hurt now. It rubbed the skin off. OUCH. I had to do the bike tonight and I hate the bike!!
Wow Sandy, You are almost to 20 pounds gone. Good job!!! Don't you just love the feeling of seeing the scales go down. That always drives me to the next day. Maybe I am weird. |
Bad Bad Angie, tempt us like that!! Yummy pictures, you must have a great camera. My pictures never make my mouth water!!
Well, I'm back again, hoping to make myself check in, even though i'm so side tracked lately. I am very proud of you guys though. I see your stats changing, wow angie, you're doing so great, get a more updated picture, will ya? I remember the first time you updated our picture, you looked so different from the first one... you seem to change in your face a lot... you look wonderful darling! I stepped on the scale, and to my surprise, the exercise is continuing to up my metabolism: I"m weighing in at 147 pounds, even with PMS! Thank you Jesus!! I can't believe it. Cause hubby made a very traditional english country dinner Sat. night, for me and my dad, who was here for dinner. I felt like a giant grape. But, i guess the exercise and good food choices is still giving me results. I kinda figured i'd get to my goal,a nd then maintain it, but it looks like my body has another goal in mind... what a fabulous day!! We're so grateful to our family and friends, because they continue to support us in our baby dream, and we'll show you our web page when it's up and online, probably June, if not sooner. I'll let you in on it when it's there. Pray for us girls. "ll check back in later! Ciao Bellas! |
Wow Chris, still losing huh? That would be great to step on the scale and get a pleasant surprise like that. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I'll have Brit take a pic soon. I have to recharge my battery pack. I don't think my face is changing alot now. I think I lost all the weight in my face first. Kempy, How was your weekend? Noelle, How did you do with your BBQ yesterday? Sandy and MissWashu, good morning girls. |
You people are doing so good. I weighed myself and nothing. Oh well!! I am not going to give in. I did my walk this morning and my job searching. Hopefully I will not have to search to much more. My boss called me and does not want me looking for a new job she is hoping I will be called back soon.(ME TOO) Hope everyone is well.
I made a strawberry cake this weekend. It required oil and eggs. I put in the oil but used only egg whites. It looks yummy but I don't dare to touch it. The frosting alone has got to be 200 calories per serving. I did not put any butter in it. Not much fat but alot of calories. Lunch is rolling around and I am starved. |
essay, I don't even use the oil in cakes and they come out the same. I just up the water alittle and use egg whites. I make a glaze too for frosting. I usually do cocoa powder, milk and confectionery sugar. I make it really thick and them microwave it for 30 seconds to make it thin and spread it on the cake and it will get harder as it cools so I don't use any butter. YUM. I can't even tell it is lowfat. I eat a piece every Saturday for a treat.
|
We sell Ostrch sticks here. They are called Ostrim. They kind of taste like a slim jim but with out all of the fat and grease. I love them, very low in fat.
You guys have been on a roll this weekend. We got busy around the house so I couldn't get on line. We are trying to get ready for next weekend so we are doing all of the things to the house that need to get done now. We still need to go bug a large piece of luggage. I really don't like to spend money on that. You guys are really doing good. I love to hear all of the positivness going on on the thread. I will be back later when I get more time to chat. |
good morning!! I'm on my 2nd cup o' jo and contemplateing breakfast... hmmm.
Mel - read your journal, and first - I can relate to the BHBIL. One of our roommates was like that. (before the escape from the house) Drove me crazy. But, I bet your house and it's suroundings look so fresh and new.... :) and - re: the bbq, "a little bit of everything" isn't so bad, as long as it is a LITTLE BIT.... but the menu looked fairly healthy to me. Made my mouth water.... mmmm crab legs.... Speaking of mouth watering! OMG Angie!!!! Those both look delicious. Very dangerous, they look like something that I would eat the whole thing by just picking at it 'cause it tastes so good. (That happens more than I'd like) Essey - you'd be suprised at how versitile cake mix is. I make chocolate cake w/ diet cola. Don't know an exact measurement, enough to make it cake dough consistancy. No eggs, no oil. And it comes out really moist, a tiny bit sweeter than usual, but pretty much the same as normal. And because 'diet' has nothing (except sodium) to it, you're just getting the nutrition facts for the mix alone. BTW I got that idea from 3FC!!! Ok, gotta keep movin'. Be back later. -Washu- |
Hey girlies,
Finally I get a minute to pop in. I have been really busy at work today, seems when the boss is here is when I am my busiest.:) Wonder why????:?: Thanks for the encouragement Angie, yes, I am hoping that I hit that 20 lb mark this week, but if I don't well I know I will next week. I will keep a positive attitude. I made it through my sons 11th birthday celebration weekend with the extra 3 boys at the house, OMG can boys eat!!! Anyway, I stayed on plan, and did not have one bite of cake or icecream. I took them to the movies on Saturday to see Kangaroo Jack (not the best movie in the world) and they had movie popcorn, smelled good but none for me and I am actually happy about that and not feeling deprived at all. Well the left over cake was in the pan still with a plastic lid on it, I put it in the oven to get it out of my sight. Guess what? I know you guessed, but humor me, I turned the oven on Sunday night to cook this wonderful low fat chicken/brocc quiche and then I started smelling something while I was preparing the quiche, yup I melted the lid to the pan and to the cake, so end of that worry.   I read a really good article about water the other day, and did you know that if you are drinking your water regularly then one day you don't your body can hold on to every ounce it has. That is why the scales fluctuate so much from day to day. But if I wernt such a scale aholic it probably would not matter....lol Hope everyone had a great weekend. Kempy/ where you going this weekend that you need a big suitcase? Trip somewhere special? Hugs to all, Sandy |
Angie, I knew you were a Goddess w/abilities unbeknownst to me  . Those pastries look absolutely wonderful. I think my eyes are gaining weight!
Speaking of gaining weight...I'm coming off another weekend BBQ. Definitely ate a little too much steak. Hardly had room for the crab but I made myself eat it anyway :ink: . We have a bad habit of picking on the food as it comes off the grill--but it's so good when it's hot and fresh. My sister made a pan of cornbread too--I cut a piece off before she slathered real butter all over the top of the whole thing. I had to laugh at her because after dinner she hopped on the scale and was yelling "I broke a hundred, I broke a hundred! I usually weigh 98 but now it says 101. " Anyways, I'm back on track today--thanks again Washu for the bungee cord. Sandy~~you rock girlfriend, for resisting that movie popcorn. I always cave unless I sneak my own SmartPop in. And that's a innovative way to avoid eating cake--just make sure you keep the fire extinguisher handy  . Chris, congrats on losing--what a great bonus. Don't melt away into nothing now. Yeah Kempy, where are you going? or was I not paying attention earlier? essey, keep your chin up! Good for you for getting your walk in. Keep up the effort and the scales will start moving. Good luck on getting back to work soon. Gar, how are things today in Tx? I'll check back w/you gals later. Gotta get some work done. |
Kempy, I may have to mail you some money and have you send me up some of those ostrich things. They sound good and I was just thinking about slim jims the other day.
Noelle, honestly if I was you I wouldn't be able to resist every weekend either. I would love to have a close family that hangs out every weekend but that is so far the opposite for me. Plus your family sounds like they make some real good things to eat. Sandy, I had to giggle about burning the pan. I have done that way too many times. |
Sandy my hubby is know to do the same thing you did. He has actually done it a few times. I will put the left over pizza in the oven to keep it warm and a little later he will go in and turn on the oven. Talk about a god awful smell. We had to open all of the windows in the house.
One more thing about water, once you start to drink a at least the requiered a day it will take your body a few days to really believe that you are going to keep drinking that much b4 it will release the extra water weight. What a cruel body we have. I am going to San Diego on Saturday. Joe's is going to a convention and I am going to tag along. I do it every year. They have to pay for a hotel room anyway. We only had to pay for my ticket there. It is about time for a vacation anyway. I just hope that it is warm there. I am so ready for shorts it isn't funny. Have any of you guys seem Shallo Hal? At first I didn't know if I was going to like it but I really love it. It has a really good point behind it. We have seen it before but it was on Sautrday and I meant to ask you guys what you though. |
Yeah I liked Shallow Hal but I didn't like the point that only fat people are beautiful on the inside.I know they were trying to make the point that overweight people are just as beautiful too but I have known some pretty "ugly on the inside" fat people too.I don't mean that bad . But the movie was really funny.
I am jealous Kempy. I want to go on vacation too. Jay's parents are thinking about listing their bakery for sale so we are going to pay all of our bills this summer and start to save every penny we can so if it sells then we can just move to another state and start a business. If we don't have to make the donuts for them then we aren't tied to this area. |
Do you guys have any ideas about where you would go?
|
No not really. The economy in Maine sucks so bad that I think anywhere else would have to be better.
|
YOU ASKED FOR IT CHRIS!!!
Here I am in all my glory. I don't think my face has really thinned out any more.
|
HERE IS ANOTHER
This is since my smile looks so goofy today. I had her do a few pics but they all sucked!haha
|
Hey pretty lady!
|
Very nice pictures Angie. You should be so proud. over 100 lbs lost. I cant wait!!!
|
Angie, you look MAHHVELOUSS!!!! I think your face has tinned out. I don't know. Just glad to see your current look... you really are looking beautiful.
Can I send you another pic, and see if you can resize it for me? My pic is ancient now. I skipped aerobics last night, even though I complain when the snow cancels it. I had done some Pilates Sunday night, and woke up Monday sooooo sore all through my thighs. That's a good thing. BUt I also had to work late, and absolutely would not skip dinner, just to make it there on time. I can't exercise on no food, and from the meal he made (spagetti) , i wouldn't have been able to workout wiht that in my belly anyway. So, today I'm taking one of my "kids" to a nature trail, and i'll get some exercise there. I really love the freedom my job gives me, and the was I can see the kids is great. I try to schedule fun things, like movies, or festivals, and today, a nature trail. I"m gonna bring my camera. Should be pretty. Chris is feeling okay. He had chemo on Friday morning, and, thanks to good planning, the meds were ready, so he didn't have an aweful painful experience liek the other times. Hind sight is always 20/20. We're staying busy, and my scrapbook buz is slow, but steady. Gives me something to focus on, besides the adoption. I don't wanna obsess about it. We're at the 'waiting fro money to appear' stage, so that's not something we can sit around and worry about. It's the waiting game for now. Also, waiting for the friends and family to mail us their reference letters. I'm really anxious to hear what they have to say about us. We're getting such great feedback, it can only encourage us in the end. We're asking for letters from everyone, so we'll be sure that we didn't forget anyone, and that we know what's on their minds, and that they believe we're right for this, even though they're opinions are taken into account, it's our life after all. Okay, so now that i've written a novel, minus well cut and paste this into my journal.!! Bye girls |
Morning all.
Angie you look great. You always have to me though. Do you take full body photos for yourself to keep so that you can see the changes? That is what we recommend poeple do here so that they can really see what they have done. I think we get so used to seeing ourselves we sometimes forget how good we really are looking and that all of the hard work is paying off. I got the pics from Mardi Gras developed so as soon as the boss me leaves his office I am going to scan them in. If any of you guys want me to e-mail them to you I will just PM me your address. I already have Chris, Noelle and Angie's. Just a little side note. If you go to Mardi Gras and your hubby takes pictures of some womens boobs the photo place will not develop them, at least not at the Winn Dixie in our town at least. Let me tell you Joe was not a happy camper. I made him go pick them up b/c I didn't want the photo people to think that I was weird but they didn't even develop them. I know it sounds like a stupid thing to take pics of but all of the guys do that sort of thing. I think it is stupiud b/c if you have seen one you have seen them all and there is no way we will remember what year they were from. |
I took a full body shot the day I started but I deleted it because I looked so bad. I have pics of me at 265 though and I have been pulling those out to look at. I really can't believe that it is me in the pics. Strange huh? I had Brit do a full body shot last night but I still look pretty big so I deleted it. For some reason I always look alot fatter in jeans than I do shorts. I wonder why.
Poor Joe!! Did he ***** them out? He could have said it was his wifes boobs. haha I would think if girls are just whipping them out then they should have to expect pictures to be taken. |
