OK I was hoping to chat real quick but I see you guys are busy so I am shutting down my computer. snif,snif

bye :wave:

melekalikimaka 03-14-2003 02:29 PM

Hey Kempy, in case you turn your computer back on, HAVE A GREAT TIME! We'll miss you. Sorry, I was actually WORKING for a change instead of hanging out here @ 3FC--that is amazing in itself! It's only half-past nine here... well, I'll check back in case you turn up. Have a blast.

angieME 03-14-2003 03:31 PM

Rebel is doing good today. I cooked him some chicken and riceand carrots (bland diet) until tomorrow when I can get to Bangor to buy him some Eagle Pack dog food. He looked so cute rooting around in his bowl and had rice stuck to his nose. hehe

You are gonna be gone all week!! I'll miss you too. Have fun!!!

peekabooangel 03-14-2003 03:48 PM

Good afternoon everyone. I was so busy at work today I didn't get to pop in. We finally got our state contract we have been waiting for. There are so many older people out there that are approved for time but there are not agencies to provide the workers~~~untill NOW!!!! So looks like next week will be really busy and I will be increasing my hours at work (this is a good thing) My boss changed my title again. I am now the Executive Assistant to the Director (glorified girl in the office that does everything!!) But we had to be more official now. We had a great work week and looks like it will be getting better.

Food and stuff is great for me. Doing well and plan to stay on plan.

Kempy, sorry I missed you today, but hope you have a nice trip!

Angie, your scarring me about this stomach flab that I have to look forward too. I know what you mean about stretching it beyond its limits!!! But, I am not quitting. I am here for the long haul and to get that punching ball balloon belley!! What a thing to strive for, but it's heathier than being this big!!!

TTYL,
Sandy

angieME 03-14-2003 04:15 PM

Sandy,Congratulations on your "Promotion". Sounds like you will be pretty busy for a while.

Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. It isn't too noticeable when I am dressed but I know it is there so it bothers me. I agree it is healthier and health is way more important but darn it I want to be sexy and healthy! :lol:

angieME 03-15-2003 09:13 AM

WEIGH DAY !!!!

I am down 2.5 pounds!!!! I am so close to the 140's. 140 will be nice when I get there because that is where I spent most of my time when I lost all my weight 2 years ago. I hit 130 and jumped right up to 136-140 since I was eating junk more often so the bloat never really left. That is okay though because I could still wear my size 6 shorts. I'll take it. I was looking through my old journal entries and on day one I had actually written my goal as 140. How did I forget that and move it back to 130. I think I will still go for 130 then get into weights a lot more. I have been doing push ups and hand weights every other day lately though.

My weight today is 154.5 pounds. Sounds so foreign for me to say that!

peekabooangel 03-15-2003 11:21 AM

Congrats Angie!!! Way to go. You will get to your goal, I know you will.

Today, well tonight we have a dinner/dance to go to. It is potluck....rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...what to do???? I am making yeast rolls to take and omg they smell so good, but I will not let myself have one till tonight. I am being very sparing with my pts today and think I will eat just a tad of whatever looks good tonight, no-way of counting the pts. But am gonna stay on track the best I can. I don't need this free night of eatting to send me over the edge. I'm not to worried about it, I really want to loose the weight so I don't think this one thing will kill that dream!

Again :bravo: ANGIE:bravo:

gargoyle2003 03-15-2003 11:40 AM

Kempy - In case you check back here...Have a good trip.

Angie - Glad to hear Rebel is doing alright for now.
I hope you can find out more specifics about how his tummy gets too much bacteria in it. Or did I remember wrong ?

To Sandy, Angie, mel..., and everybody - keep up the good work !
You're doing great with your weight losses !

90% of the success of weight loss is in the mind. So, as we all know, once you've made up your mind to do it, that's really the hardest part.

Short on time again....I just wanted to drop in and say Hi.

melekalikimaka 03-15-2003 02:08 PM

Hello chickies. I am down 3 lbs this week. A loss FINALLY! See it's like this. Me and my fat, we've been together for a loooooonnnnnnnnngggggggggg time and it's really hard for it to say goodbye :lol: . This brings me to 35 lbs lost and 30 more to go. Angie you probably changed your goal to 130 because that's where you felt great last time. I know for me when I hit the low 130's it was very difficult for me to keep it there--of course I was younger then and went back to my old ways of eating. I'm much older and wiser now (I think so anyway) and have found that if I take a much less strict approach to this, the more likely I am to keep on going even though I may go off track more often. Good job girlie! You are awesome!

Sandy have fun tonight. Enjoy yourself and dance those calories away. I have a BBQ too. I'm bringing stuff that I can eat and this loss will hopefully motivate me to keep in control of my eating. I think I'll wear some tight jeans as a reminder why I should stay on track :lol: .

Gar, I agree with your 'weight loss is in the mind' statement. I think I've already lost 90% of my mind though, the weight is coming off more slowly, hehe.

My son and I took a short walk this morning with my sister on her way to work. She's a dog groomer so we went into her shop and checked out all the little doggies waiting for their appts. There was a long-haired chihuahua, a shitzu and a pekingese already waiting. Now to get off my butt and start the laundry.

Washu, essey, Chris, Kempy (even though you're on vacation), and everyone else, have a great weekend!

peekabooangel 03-15-2003 02:30 PM

Hey Mele, we got a postcard from my dh's cousin and his wife the other day. He is stationed in Hawaii (Honolulu) is that where you are? I could not remember? Just when I got the card I thought of you....LOL

melekalikimaka 03-15-2003 03:27 PM

Yesiree I'm in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii ~~The Gathering Place. I actually live about 20-25 minutes outside downtown Honolulu. What branch of the military is DH's cousin? We've got the Navy @ Pearl Harbor, the Marines over @ KMCBH (Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii) the Army over @ Schofield Barracks and Ft. Shafter (all over the place really), and the AF @ Hickam AF Base. I hope they like it here. The locals here have a lot of what we call the Aloha Spirit but like anywhere else you go, there are a few @**holes who give everybody a hard time and make a bad name for us other friendly people.

angieME 03-15-2003 05:21 PM

YEAH NOELLE!!!!!!! I knew you could do it!!! You're Shrinking!!!You're shrinking!!!!

Guess what??!!! My hubby went and bought me flowers today!! SHOCK!!! He said he had it planned all week! He even put a card with them that said "Just Because" I guess I know someone who will be getting laid tonight!!! :lol:

I wore my leather jacket and leather boots today. I had planned to wear them at goal but he has been begging me to wear them so I did. Strange thing is I think I saw a couple of guys checking me out in the stores. Maybe it was in my head though. :lol:

angieME 03-16-2003 10:23 AM

Noelle, Good Luck at your BBQ today. You can resist!! Just think you can add a couple more pounds onto this weeks tally!!YEAH!!!! I'll be thinkin of ya all day.

Sandy, How did your dinner/dance go last night? I hope you guys had fun.

I never got to go shopping for tops. Brit had a a party so I went to Bangor during it and of course couldn't find the right food so I was late picking her up and then I HAD to go grocery shopping so I didn't have time for fun. I rented One Hour Photo and Swimfan last night. I could have slept through them both. YAWN! I ate 2 pieces of my cake last night. OOps!! I'll be a good girl today. Promise.

It is so sunny out today that I have one of my springtime headaches. (Does anyone else get those?) We took all of the dogs for a walk after we got back from our regular walk. What a nightmare! I had Candi and Rebel on the same leash and she tried to take a poop and of course Rebel weren't hanging around for that so he rips her out of the snowbank and runs off dragging her. :lol:

Have a great day girls!!

melekalikimaka 03-16-2003 11:36 AM

I think I did good last night. Went over to my sister's and BIL's place for a memorial party for BIL's son Shawn, who died a year ago. It was very touching. We're usually a loud, boisterous, goofball family and it wasn't any different last night, except we all stopped @ 8:05 pm (which is about the time Shawn passed) and toasted in memory of him. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I brought my sushi platter and so did somebody else. There was also all sorts of other great foods but I stuck to the sushi, a couple of pieces of steak and had a small piece of lasagne that my mom had baked. I wasn't stuffed to the gills after I was done so I consider that a victory.
I'm waiting for the sun to come up so I can get ready for my walk this morning. I think I'm still on the upswing so I just may stay OP this weekend! The first time in a LONG time. :cb: Just gotta get through another BBQ then I'm home-free.

Angie, you're very pretty and I can see why other guys would be checking you out--don't doubt it, especially in a sexy leather jacket and boots. Ahhhh, that was really sweet of Jay to get you flowers. See? Some guys just need training, that's all. For some it's a never ending thing (the training) . I know I drop subtle hints a few weeks in advance that an occasion is coming up so my big lughead gets a clue. :lol:

Sandy how was your night? Danced the night away? I haven't been dancing in ages. I have 2 left feet.

Well, i think I'll get off here and get my shoes on and step outside. Will check back here later. Have a great Sunday.

~~~
Noelle
peekabooangel 03-16-2003 12:30 PM
Hey girls, happy Sunday afternoon.
Angie, flowers form Jay (you lucky girl) so were you super nice to him lastnight?
Good for you wearing your leather jacket and boots, makes you feel oh so good dosnt it!!
Mele, I think my dh's cousin is in the Army. Good luck at the bbq today.
DINNER/DANCE:We had a great time. Let me explain what it was for. As Angie can vouch for, Winters in Maine are long and cold and you don't get out much except to do the things you need to do. Well couple a girls in the family decided to rent a VFW hall, hire a band, send out invites to family and friends, charge $10.00 per couple (rules were had to have a date and bring a dish to pass(food) and B.Y.O.B)So they made enough money back to pay for the hall, and pay the band and what was left they added to the bands fee, cause they did not want to just make money on family, it was so everyone could just get out and have a good time. Well my dh never drinks (maybe 2x's a year) OMG he and his brothers were so funny, dh and I danced like 5 times and then of course all of us girls danced too, and what a great time it was, we stayed till the very end when the band was packing up to leave. I did really good with food too, I had saved almost all of my pts for the night, well I ended up putting on my plate 1 sm piece of lasagna, 1 chicken wing, 2 small meatballs, 1 spoon of spaggetti, 1 spoon of bbq pork dish and a little bit of chili in a bowl. Well I ate about half and went to the garbage to get rid of the rest so I would not pick. So I think all in all I did extremely well. So well infact (gosh, I hate to jinx myself but I have to tell you all!!) I got on the scale this am and although it's not official till Thursday, the scale looked back at me and said 273.5 thats 3.5#'s less than last Thursdays weight.....I was over joyed to say the least;) So my loss this week I'm hoping will be at least that!!!!
Hugs to you all,
Sandy
melekalikimaka 03-17-2003 01:21 PM
Hey Ladies, where is everyone? I had an awesome weekend. Walked my butt off yesterday too. Fortunately for me, I have lots more left. I'm just starting my workday so I need to get organized. I'm burning some caramel creme scented candles and I feel like I'm in some heavenly bakery! Yum. I saw a funny but kind of old commercial yesterday. I don't remember if it was for Nutrigrain bars or something but it's the one with the lady who walks into the coffee shop or bakery shop and orders cinnamon rolls then instead of eating them she just sticks them right to her hips. Then they show another lady ordering donuts and those go straight to her butt. Funny! I believe that can happen though :lol: . ANyway, have a great day all...hope to see some posts when I get back.
~~Noelle~~
angieME 03-17-2003 01:56 PM
Hi! You did great this weekend Noelle. Good Job! My scales bounced me up to 157 again this morning. Unless I have been sleep eating I don't see how that would be possible. :lol:
It is so nice outside today. We brought up some of the deck furniture so we could sit outside and enjoy it. We have done one walk and are gonna go again after work. I LOVE SPRING!!!
SvelteChicky 03-17-2003 02:46 PM
Afternoon! Boy, I've been so overwhelmed lately. Today, I actually left work early, and told my boss I was 'no good emotionally'. I need time for myself. I also left church yesterday, with a terrible headache.
My body is tired, and my mind is tired. I had some long talks with people yesterday, and my mother. Aout the adoption thing. Someone in church told me I look great,a nd that was nice. "hey, where's the rest of you" was the comment. Okay, get over it.
I did Pilates last night,a nd tonight's aerobics. I"m trying to eat right, but when I get depressed, I wanna eat. I wanna eat, all day long. I get these cycles, where, life is easy,a nd my bodies in line. Then there's days like this, where lif eis overwhelming, and my body is haywire. Just got over TOM, so I should be feeling great, but i'm dragging ***.
Congrats to all who are losing,a nd hugs to those of us that are struggling a little. Me included. Still maintaining myweight, but feeling tired, and miserable. Not sure the exact reason.
melekalikimaka 03-17-2003 02:52 PM
Hey Angie, my scale said 182 this morning--up from 180 on Sat.--but I didn't pay any attention. :lol: I'm chalking it up to eating a lot of sushi w/soy sauce over the weekend. I'm drinking a lot of water today to get rid of some of the bloat. I'm gonna stay on track this week and see what kind of loss I can chalk up for the end of Gennel's challenge. If that stupid # on the scale stays the same tomorrow though, I didn't have as great a weekend as I thought :( . Bother! I feel great and that's what counts.
Oh yeah, I remember a few months back I didn't like what my old scale said, then I bought that new digital one. I liked the new one even less! Gave that one to my hubby who's equally scale obssessed. You're lucky that Jay walks w/you. Rick busts @ss during the work day w/demolition and other construction stuff so when he gets home he does not want to exercise. That's why I always go w/my sister. When he does agree though, I love it.
Oh well, all we can do is push on.
~~~~~
Chris, I must've been posting @ the same time as you. Hi! Sorry to hear you're having a rough time. So much has been going on w/you. Take all the ME time you need. We all need to get our batteries recharged sometimes. Slow down, enjoy life. Glad you could stop by and say hello.

Smiling Sal 03-17-2003 04:55 PM

Thought I'd jump in and say hello. I've been lurking for a while and you seem a very friendly supportive group.

I'm fast approaching the time of year where I give up dieting / healthy eating call it what you will. I do great from New Year until about April. I usually go away for a week in April and never seem to get back on plan after that. But this year I am determined to do it different.

I am so jealous that you are looking out the deck furniture already. We have had a few nice spring like days, but it will be a couple of months yet before I'll venture to sit outside.

I like to walk too. I am doing a charity walk in June, 12 miles around Edinburgh. I did it last year when I weighed more and didn't train. This year I am training seriously and walked 4.25 miles yesterday afternoon, was a long walk. Am surprised I could walk anywhere today. I am hoping to build it up to 6 miles before Easter.

I tend to scale hop too, doesn't do me any good because my lightest morning are never on wiegh in days.

melekalikimaka 03-17-2003 06:24 PM

Welcome Carol! Glad you could join us. I like your avatar--it shows every mood I have during the week :lol: . It sounds like you are doing great with your walking. With Easter just shy of 6 weeks away I think building up to 6 miles is totally doable. Good Luck! I like to do charity walks myself although I didn't do the last one held here during our President's Day weekend in February. That one was a little over 8 miles but no one wanted to walk with me. :( Walking is fun and it's a great weight bearing exercise. It's helping me tone down the size of my hips, legs and behind.

I'm in Hawaii so we're not lacking for any sunshine, in fact, I walked my son to school this morning and it was rather hot. I do envy you folks who live in other climates where you get to experience the rebirth of spring and all the greenery. I'm sure you'd like a good dose of warm sunshine right about now though. There's plenty here if you care to visit. I have a good girlfriend who is originally from Scotland but is currently living in Spain. Her husband is an American and works for the US govt. so they are lucky enough to get transferred and travel the world every few years. Good to have you here and hope you post with us often.

angieME 03-17-2003 06:28 PM

Hi Smiling Sal. We will be more than happy to help you with all the support that you need. This is a great bunch of women here. I am proud to call them all my friends. I tend to want to eat more during the warmer weather myself. I figure it is too nice to be cooking. :lol: We can do this together, all of us.

They said we hit 53 today. I am amazed at how warm it felt. We had no wind to speak of so this afternoon when we went for another walk we did it without our coats. We had huge amounts of snow melt today. I hope this weather stays for a while.

Chris, I am sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I know it must be an extremely emotional time for you two. All your hard work will be worth it when you get your baby though.

Noelle, I hate the scales!!! They had better be back to normal tomorrow. I swear I have been good. Geesh.

angieME 03-18-2003 10:19 AM

Good Morning!! I am ashamed to say this but the scale bouncing up on me yesterday must have had an effect on me. I ate a lot of wow chips last night AND about 7 fat free crackers with Peanut butter and fluff on them. I felt so guilty after because I was telling Jay as I was eating them that I weren't hungry I just wanted to taste something good. STUPID!STUPID!STUPID! So needless to say this morning the scales said 156 but at least now it has a reason to I guess/ :lol: I think that is what pissed me off so bad about yesterday was because I didn't mess up at all. I could see if I ate Chinese or something but I didn't. Now I have to work my *** off to lose weight that I didn't even mess up on to gain. The last time I lost all my weight I weighed every day and not once did I have that happen to me. It was like it melted off and this time it is taking alot more work.

I got a 2 1/2 mile walk in already. YEAH! I can't believe how sore I am from all the walking we have been doing. I also have been shoveling snow alot too. I want it away from the fence so Cappie can't jump it so I shovel and shovel and shovel! Jay shoveled the mountain of snow off my flower bed last night so maybe I can see tulips befor July. :lol: My driveway is down to mud now but I love it. I think spring has sprung! (hopefully) hehe

I really desperately need new walking shoes. My other ones are cramping my two smallest toes together so they are blistered. OUCH!

angieME 03-18-2003 10:22 AM

KEMPY

I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING FUN!!!!:dancer: :flow2:

WE MISS YOU!

gargoyle2003 03-18-2003 11:21 AM

SvelteChicky - I hope you're feeling better. Maybe if being "down" has you going for the kitchen, decide on only one or two controlable things you're going to eat.....and drink a lot of water.
It could just be that you picked up a bug but didn't get enough of it for very specific symptoms while your body eliminates it.

Is Chris your hubby's name ?

Kempy - Hope you're having a good time out there.

Carol - Welcome ! Without checking the map, I don't know who's further away from me here in Texas....Melekalikimaka in Hawaii or you in Scotland.

It's in the mid 70's here and raining at the moment.

peekabooangel 03-18-2003 01:30 PM

Hey there chicks. I didnt know if I was gonna post today or not? Monday was a good day, no problem with the food or anything, just was dragging. Today, however, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I just want to eat everything in sight. Yes, emotional eatting it would be. Hubby and I had a disagreement this morning and he left for work with a slam of the door and I wasn't done yet!!!!!

Here's the thing. He comes home everyday saying oh I'm so tired I've worked all day, I just wanna sit and not be bothered. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, well I work too!!!!! and on top of this I have the laundry, dishes, housework, kids to tend to, homework with them, get them here and there, groceries, meals......never ending!! He does nothing to contribute to the house other than go to work!! He gets up in the a.m has his coffee and ciggs, then gets dressed and off to work then home and has his coffee, cigs, supper, shower and tv. I on the other hand am left to do everything else and go to work and be expected to want to put out when it's bed time!! I think not!!!!! Maybe I say no to him more often than I should, but it seems to be one thing I can control in this house. He is a good provider and there is no problems in the bedroom area, but thats not all there is to life. I need help in the daily routines too. I try to tell him this and he acts like he does so much here and he dosnt!!!RRRRRRRR I wrote him a big long letter for him to read when he gets home today. I hope he stops to think about it.

Thanks for listening to me ramble on and on.....Life....

I had to make woopie pies today to......and I ate 1 and a 1/2 of them. Thats the first sweet thing I've eatten in frustration in such a long time. But there are only 6 left in the house because I sent the rest away to the homes they needed to go to (family thing) I did write it down today in my food journal and am counting the pts for them so all is not lost, but I feel bad I ate them out of anger. Who is it hurting? Just me. RRRRRRRRR, why do we do this to ourselves?

Sandy

melekalikimaka 03-18-2003 01:31 PM

Hey Chickies good morning to you. My scale is back to 180 this morning and I'm using that as motivation to keep this week OP. I walked my son to school and took my 6 y.o. niece w/me. She's a little chubby thing and I hope she grows out of it within a few years. I remember being the fat kid in class and being so uncomfortable and embarrassed about it--and now that I look back, I wasn't even that fat. It's too bad how your mental image of yourself as a kid can stay with you into adulthood.

Angie don't worry about the scale, those numbers can be cruel. So you had a snack-attack, it happens, you're human. I remember staying totally on track for 4 days straight w/extra exercise and no loss. I was about to say F*@k it and give up, but I didn't, and on the 5th day there was a sizable loss. The change in your scale could just be your body reacting to the different forms of exercise your doing, you know, walking and weights instead of the elliptical and bike. Say you're doing weights and pushups. Your body thinks, uh oh, more energy is being used, need to conserve. It's just shaking your metabolism up a little. I know you said you don't drink a whole lot of water, maybe you're retaining some. Try upping the plain water intake, you may be surprised at the results. It may seem weird like why would your body retain water all of a sudden when you've been eating the same foods day after day? I don't have the answer to that one, but I know when I force myself to drink more water than usual (i.e. 100 oz instead of just 64 oz) that's when I show the best losses that stick. Sorry to be so long winded but that's my $.02 . :) Oh yeah, I'm happy that spring is coming your way. 50 degrees is still very COLD for me. Brrrrrr!

How's everyone else doing today? We've got 75 degrees, sunshine, possible light showers with a high of 82. Sounds like a nice day to me.

Gar are you done organizing your rooms yet? In answer to your question about who's farther away from you in TX, me in HI or Carol in Scotland, me in my geekdom have searched the net and found that from College Station, TX to Edinburgh, Scotland it would be 4619 miles whereas from TX to Honolulu, HI would only be 3834 miles. Now if I were to fly from Honolulu to Edinburgh, that would be 6905 miles. All of these distances are 'as the crow flies' :lol: or so I found. Can you tell I'm having a bit of trouble getting started on my real work and am just fooling around here?

Well, I think I need to get going but will check back later. Keep your chin up ladies. We can do this!

melekalikimaka 03-18-2003 01:46 PM

((((((Sandy)))))) , have you ever thought about going on strike? If that sounds too extreme how about increasing the kids' chores appropriate to their age level? Then tell hubby if the kids can help out, so can he. I agree men can be blockheads. Maybe he walked out this morning because he knew what you were saying was the truth and he just didn't want to listen to it. If I were you I'd write down every single thing I do for the house/kids on a daily basis and show that list to him. Have him see exactly why you're getting frustrated with his lack of help. Yes we are Superwomen, but even we need help sometimes. Hope he opens his eyes and gives you a hand. Whoopie pies huh? I never heard of those until Angie mentioned them one day. I'd go to Maine just to taste one :T . Put them out of sight if you can once you've had your taste. Stay strong lady, you're doing awesome.

Smiling Sal 03-18-2003 02:30 PM

Sandy I too have a man who thinks the house cleans itself and the fairies come in when we are in bed and do the laundry. He does work long hours, but so do I. I have managed to get him doing stuff, but it is hard work, I need to keep on at him constantly. The kids do their share and put him to shame.

Was in a meeting all day at work, there was lunch provided which meant I over ate - again ! Will need to watch very carefully for the next couple of days, as I'm off to a friends wedding on Saturday.

I like the way you are all scale hoppers every morning. Most people tell you not to do it and for a wee while I was 'cured', but now I am back to my favourite past time in the morning. My scales showed 211 this morning which considering I had a couple of glasses of wine last night was too be expected.

Walked 2.5 miles this morning, I liked being out and about when the rest of the world was sleeping so the alarm is set for 5:55 again tomorrow. Got a pedometer today so from now on I'll be able to measure the walks correctly.

I plan on doing 30 minutes of calanetics once the boys are in bed, am sure exercise and healthy eating combined are the only way I am going to lose this weight.

angieME 03-18-2003 03:41 PM

Sandy, I hope you and hubby get everything worked out. I can't really say anything because if it weren't for Jay half of the things in my house would never get done. :lol: I agree with Noelle though, you should make a list of things that he could do and the kids could do to help take the slack up for you. My kids have to clean their own bathroom(I refuse) and they have to fold and take care of the laundry(which Jay does more than me) Sometimes I make them sweep the floors if I am in a hurry. Maybe that could help you a little. I do understand how you feel though . It seems like there are never enough hours in a day.

Emotional eating. Tell me about it! I ate some brownie at work. I wish I had never started to make those because now it is all I want. I am just having a psychological war with myself right now about food. I want to pig out on everything but I know I will feel like **** after. I would really like to know why our minds and bodies play with us like that. It is so not fair.

Good Morning!!

Sandy, did you and hubby make up last night? Remember when he bought you flowers and the card said I am Loving Less of you every day and you said to remind you of this when you are complaining about him? :lol: Or was it don't remind you. :lol: Smile! He is a sweety! I hope you are feeling better. Today is a new day and we all ROCK!!!!!!!

Noelle, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Your comment in my journal got me through yesterday. I was in the process of saying when I get off the computer I am going to eat some chips and I read my journal and saw what you wrote and I exercised instead. I even didn't eat anything last night even while Jay was eating PB and fluff sandwiches.

Chris, You look great. You really are so thin looking. Do you have any before pics?

Carol, How are you today?

SvelteChicky 03-19-2003 08:41 AM

Thanks Angie, I'll put a pic in here, for the other girls. I'll have to look for a before picture, you know how we burn those nowadays! -- man! I can't send it, it's too big still. I'll send Angie a pic, and see if she can pare it down more.

have not been here in awhile

Back again, been kind of down with no work and all. So the last few days all I did was eat. The scales went back to where I was on Monday thats why I ate I figured what the heck. But I still got on that poor treadmill every day and gave it a work out. Today it says I lost 4 pounds! Can't have water weight gain, at least I don't think so but maybe dehydrated from the hot flashes I have.
I feel a little better today and looking forward to this weekend, going down to visit my mom.
You know men don't realize what we do. That what makes women so great.:yes: We are able to basically do it"all" Take care of our men and children and house and what ever seems to hit us. But we deal with it some different ways and do what we have to do and men just are selfish. It goes back to the old times where the woman did it all and men worked and it has carried on over the years. My question is did we always do it when we first got married? I guess I should of "trained" my husband right in the beginning of our marriage.:lol: :)
I can't complain he works all day and me just a couple of hours so I will do it like always, because I love him.
I hope everyone is well and hang in there everyone

Angie !
That's a great picture !

You look like you're very close to goal.
Feels really good, doesn't it ?

I've been down to mine too many times....only to mess up maintenance.
I'M NOT SCREWING THAT UP THIS TIME !

Sandy - Hope everything's Ok.

I'm in the mother lode room of clutter from ****, now. It's the last room that needed to be done.
To start on this one, I had to label boxes for 10 different things/places to start on this last room. There was paper work, magazines, books, stuff that had been buried for months......things that belonged in 6 other places in the house.
But when I'm done, the house will look better than it has in many years.
I lost count of how many bags of clothes, and misc. items we've donated....and how many bags of trash we've generated.....not counting what we took up to the attic.

In a nutshell, the organizing book's author uses a system she calls S.P.A.C.E., and her model for anyone to use is the way a kindergarten room (I'm not kidding !) is fashioned.
Like things are kept together, (not 4 different places in the house).....and there is a place to store everything.
I know it's starting to sound Martha Stewart-ish....but it really isn't....or I wouldn't have touched it !
(Isn't Martha Stewart the Anti-Christ ?)....Bwa ha ha ha ha....
(evil laugh)

Ok, back to the SPACE system.

Sort - separate your clutter into categories ( photos, kitchen
items, office supplies, etc.)...label boxes for them first.

Purge - decide what to keep, donate, and throw out.

Assign - decide where you're going to keep things. If you're not
going to put them in a different room than you're
already keeping like items; come up with better storage
in that room for those items, so there will be a place
to put them in the future when it's time to tidy up.

Containerize - now you can decide which and how many
containers you will need and what to use as containers.
And whether to actually create more storage room for
the containers. We bought 3 bookcases for an extra
room, and 2 for the guest room.

Equalize - after about a month, you can tell if anything needs
adjustment.

Work on the visible clutter first.....not bags of things that have been in closets for years. The visible clutter actually in the room is your most recently acquired stuff, and will be easier to deal with. Do Not feel like you're supposed to literally go thru your Whole house all at once !!.....No one could handle such a monstrous job......and don't feel bad about the state of your belongings. No one really wants to live in a pig sty....it's just that most people never had a good plan for organizing.

I had to paraphrase, but all that is in her book, too.

That's about it around here.
Back to the last room.

Hi all, I knew those flowers and card would come back someday to bite me in the a$$! We did not make up last night! He came home and one of my friends was over so he acted all sweetie pie(sickning) but she already knew the story!! Anyway he asked what was for supper and I said I had made chili with ground turkey but took hamburger out for him (he hates chili) so he asked for manwiches.......I said okay, well I started them and you know it does not take long to make these. Wellk, I look over in the livingroom and he is sound asleep on the couch!!:mad: so I ate and fed the kids and then at 8:00 I put everything away and went to bed and left him on the couch!!

Well I guess he came to bed at some point in the night cause he was there when I woke up. So finally he gets up this morning and I'm not really talking to him, he says Is something wrong? I start crying, and I let go!! I didnt let him get a word in edge wise. I said you may think I am *****ing and maybe I am, but if I don't tell you appartently you are oblivious to the facts. I told him all I do in this house and then he falls asleep on the couch and I cooked another meal for nothing!!! And I was not only mad, but hurt too. I guess he had to let this all settle in his brain because soon enough he was appologizing and gave me a kiss. So I guess we are kinda made up now? We will see what tonight brings? I do love this man with all my heart and soul, but gosh he needs some obeidience schooling.

Chris, wow, you look great!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well,

Hugs, Sandy

Sandy, I was just kidding about the cards figured it would give you a chuckle. I have gone to bed many time and left Jay asleep on the couch too. :lol: Maybe after he has the day to think about all that you said he will come home and pitch in some. I hope your day gets better.
