Default War & Tornados!!! Enough already!

We had a deadly tornado here in my little town yesterday! 4 were killed here and 2 in a neighboring county! It was awful we were up and the winds were horrible! Talk about thanking the Lord when those winds pasted our house!! My husband and I had the children up and secure and we just watched and waited! Our biggest problem out of it was we were inconvenienced by not having electricity from 5AM yesterday until 2:15 PM. We don't personally know any of the people killed, but two were children!! So heartbreaking!! We did know some that had damage, but that's only stuff! It can be replaced! We all missed work and school yesterday. My DH and I are back at work but the schools are closed again today.

My prayers are with those in the Gulf and their families back home! I pray it will be over soon! Thanks Dips for the encouraging note about our military! I agree!

Paula, I am so glad to hear you are okay. Poor babies...they were just children. "We don't personally know any of the people killed, but two were children!! So heartbreaking!! We did know some that had damage, but that's only stuff! It can be replaced! " Last year was my first experience with a tornado and I don't EVER want to go through that.

I hope that time heals the hearts of the parent's who lost their children in that tornado.

I just have a minute to pop in. Dips, I want to echo what Amy said. I have some ambivalence about what's right in this situation, but I do know I fully support our military and appreciate all that you do to keep us safe and preserve the freedom that we so often take for granted here. Blessings to you and your unit and all who are risking their lives and all who's loved ones are risking their lives for us here at home.

Angry Good Morning

Good morning everyone. Paula- My God- that must have been so scary! It's horrible that children lost their lives. I can't imagine the amount of fear I would have felt when the winds picked up, or the gratitude when it didn't hit me. My thoughts are with you.
Dips- I know I'm probably the last to say this, but thank you. I think what you do is the most important job in the world. Not many people are willing to sacrifice their lives for the right for us to have freedom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the service members. I was so glad to see your post the other day!
Well I feel almost foolish posting my weight loss with all the other things that are going on. I'm down 4 lbs this week. So into the 160's finally! Can't wait to see 140 or this last bit of fat on my belly gone I hope everyone has a wonderful day. By the way Hi Kina!

What a strange week diet wise for me. On Monday my weight jumped up 2 pounds and I had not eaten anything different. So I have spent this whole week trying to relose the same 2 pounds that I lost last week again!! Today the scales granted me a 1 pound loss for this week in addition to getting rid of the jumped up water weight.

So 1 pound this week.Is this the last week for this challenge? If it is then I lost a total of 7.5 pounds this month. I guess I hit the slowdown.

I hope everyone has a great weigh in!

Wink Challenge goal 7#s; #s lost = 5

Paula so sorry to hear of the tragedies caused by the tornado. It is always sad when people die due to natural disasters but more so when they're children. I'm really glad though that you and your family are safe and sound. Has your MIL shown any improvement?

Di BIG congrats on the 4# loss . That Denise Austin workout must be something. Your progress is amazing. Awesome!

Angie you did it ! A loss is a loss is a loss...You did great this week girl, I knew you could stay strong. You rock.

Well it's been a pretty smooth week for me dietwise. With all the craziness going on in the world what's going in my mouth is the easiest thing for me to control. Gosh did it take a war to get my priorities straight? (sorry, bad joke) I'm down 2 lbs this week bring me to 178. Hello 170's! If it is the last week of the challenge I didn't make my goal BUT I did lose 5 lbs total so I am totally happy with that.

Congrats to everyone who did this challenge. Losers, maintainers and yes, even gainers. We're trying ladies and that's what counts. Have a great day all.

IS this the last weekend of the challenge? I guess it is, isn't it. Well, I FINALLY had a decent week and dropped a couple of pounds. Nowhere near the 6 pound goal I set, but I'm O.K. with it. Too bad I'm still playing catch-up from January! Looks like we're all doing pretty well this week, in spite of the world crisis. Surely not because of it, or is there anybody here who "just can't eat" when they're scared or nervous?

Hi Di my good friend. Look at you into the 160's!!! Bravo dahlin'! You are truly amazing!

I'm so sorry I have been out in left field. Spring Break is over and I didn't get as much as I wanted to get done. I am only fearing that worst of the semester is yet to come. I keep thinking it is over in May and then you are on summer vacation.

Well unfortunate to say my scale is crawling up and if I don't do something about it I will be back to seeing the 2's at the beginning of the reading. I can't exercise as often as I had in the past so I am going to have to do something. But come May I am going to be in full motion. I am going to drop 30 lbs by the end of the year and I am going to make sure of it!

Okay well I am off to the grocery store. Talk to you all later.

Hugs & Smiles...Kina

Default Hi again

Hi everyone-
Kina- Keep your chin up chick look how much you've already lost! I'm behind you 100% and know those 30 pounds will be gone in not time. See I don't have any kids, only a husband who sometimes acts like one that's one reason why I have more time to devote to exercise than the busy moms out there. I thank God now that I've been exercising all along, or otherwise losing this last chunk of fat on my stomach would have been a much bigger ordeal. I never thought I'd be one of those people who love to exercise, but now I think it would kill me if I couldn't be active. I guess we all just have to find what's right for our own bodies. I'm constantly having to make changes as mine changes. Don't worry you'll get into that groove again!
Jen- Way to go on the loss! Whether you hit the challenge goal or not you still lost and I bet you feel great about that
Angie- 7.5 pounds- Woo hoo! You've been doing so great! And hey a pound is a pound, some weeks I pray to see a pound loss
Melekalikimaka- thanks for the congrats! Yes that Hit the Spot Abs tape is excellent. It's a great toning workout and I've seen tape measures losses in my stomach (by far my worst area). I really do think it's making a difference for me, along with some other minor changes I've made.
Well I've written a book so guess I'll go- take care all. Di

Hi everyone. I post on the Weighty Issues Thread under Support. We were doing our before and after pics so I posted mine. I have a pic of me at about 245 pounds and a pic of me when I was at 135 pounds if any of you are interested in seeing them. They are on either the last page or the second to last page. I tried to post them over here but the websight wouldn't let me.

Smile Check in...

Well I can't believe it but I met my challenge goal!! How I don't know! Thank goodness I am now done with TOM and awful PMS! This was a rough month on that account! My first week of the challenge I lost 3 lbs, second week 2lbs, then 3rd week I lost 1, and this morning I weighed in at 205, so a two lb loss this week! For a total of 8 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost couldn't believe the scale this morning I got off and back on again! At least something is going right! I have been beating myself up this past week, but I guess I haven't been too bad I have drank my water, and kept my calories close to 1200, over a couple of days, but never above 1300. And I even got some walking in, not nearly enough exercise, but I promise myself I will do better today!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!! Thanks for all of your support during this challenge! I hate for it to end!!

My MIL is still in ICU, but doing some better! They have her off the ventilator, she is still on oxygen, they are suppose to run some more tests today!

Tornado clean up is underway around here! It is amazing to see the destruction, Thank the Lord there were no more deaths than there was! The National Weather Service has categorized it as a F3 tornado. On a scale of F0 - F5! F5 being the worst!

Let's all pray for our troops, things are just starting to get rough over there!

Y'all have a good day!

Paula

Hi everyone,

I'm checking in with my tail between my legs. I'm back where I started, at 262.

I'm disappointed in myself, but I made a somewhat conscious decision not to be as stringent for a few weeks and then tackle the next 50 pounds... which I am now ready for starting today. I've got a pair of my BF's khaki pants on, that fit a little snug, to act as inspiration, and I've got a nice salad for lunch waiting for me.

Unfortunately I am also entering PMS phase again and that is probably a big part of the gain I had this past week, but... I'm going full-on gung ho again, pretending that this is all new. I am still as determined as ever to reach my goal.

Congrats to all of you who did so well during this challenge!

~~Amy

Hello everyone. First I want to congratulate all those with a loss! And a big "hang in there to those who are struggling". I think I fit in BOTH categories! I'm down a pound this week for a total of 7 this challenge. My goal was six. I'm pretty happy because I haven't met my goal for a challenge in at least three months.
Dh and I just got back from buying new tires for my bike. I can't wait to get going!! I've got spring biking fever bad. I've taken my jogging outside. Man, it is much harder!! Even though I run on a 2% incline on the treadmill, it is nothing like actually moving. I had to take two days off after my first run outside I hurt so bad! But I'm back at it.
Thanks for listening to me ramble on. I hope you're all in good spirits!! TTFN,
