My husband is 22 (almost 23) and can eat practically anything and it doesn't do anything at all. He stays in his weight range of 185-200 lbs. He could lose a little but *shrug*. I'll laugh when he's about 40 and it's caught up to him. Women age better ...usually. Plus I'm actually older (by 3 years, 8 months, some days lol) and I look younger than my age...so that will be plus.
I'm 8 years older than my hubby. For years now I've been whining about my "age-related aches & pains" & he hasn't had much to say... until recently. Now he "OHs!" and "AHs!" just about every time he stands up or sits down yeah, that'll teach'm!
Yeah, I understand. My husband--who normally is not a sweet eater---decided to pick up a box of dark chocolate cherry cordials from the gourmet aisle in T.J. Maxx the other day. I just had two (for 50 calories each). I could easily eat the entire box, but I'm resisting.
Ha ha, I bought a box of those things right before I started getting back with the program. They are so good. Interesting... when I bought them years ago there were 10 in a box the same size as the box that now holds 5.
My dh will bring home treats and then not eat them. And if I ask if I can throw them out he says "no, I'm going to eat that".
I had to stare at the thanksgiving pie for 2 1/2 weeks while he refused to throw it out. Granted after about a week it lost its allure and when mold finally started to grow on it a couple days ago, I tossed it. (yes, he asked "Why did you eat my pie?")
When I was half way through my weight loss I ended up buying a box just not xmas trees.. I ate about a bite and realized it really does NOT taste that good.. I could taste the fakeness of the little cake and I just threw it away. It really was not worth the calories.
Omgsh, I am in love with those christmas tree cakes. I always have been, as has my twin sister. We were never allowed stuff like that as kids, and I think that made things worse as adults because then we could buy them ourselves and we crave them all the time.
Luckily, hubby doesn't care for really sweet stuff. He's one of those perfectly healthy people who can eat truckloads of terrible food and not worry about gaining weight. Grr. At least he's not naturally fit. He's just naturally thin, which is a slap in the face in itself!
my BF is like that and he can eat whatever he wants it kills me.... But my parents are like that too they eat junk food all the time and are really over weight and they bring doughnut holes from Krispy Kream all the time and i am like i dont need them i and trying to drop weight. so i have only had 3 out of a box of 24 in 4 days.

oh man! another one of my "trigger foods"!
it's been "tradition" every year for my father & I to share a box of cordial chocolate cherries at xmas time. I quit buying them for him because I know he won't WAIT until I leave to start eating them, LOL - but of course he still buys them for himself. ACK!
One thing's for sure, since I have been working on cutting down on my sugar intake, things like the xmas tree cakes & the cordial chocolate cherries are WAY OVER-SWEET to me now. While I may CRAVE THEM, I know that eating them makes me feel SICK. Just TOO DADGUM sweet!! Maybe I can consider that a NSV?
Ugh, my hubbo is the same. He's naturally thin. And by naturally thin, I mean that he is very active and has a built-in sense of portion control. Classic eyes are bigger than stomach...I hate when he goes shopping with me because he'll always want huge portions of things, and pick out all this junk food. He'll buy a whole pie and only eat one slice. Ugh, or cheesecake. He loves it, but once he's had a piece of it he won't want another piece for at least a month or two. So then I'm stuck with 80% of a cheesecake, one of my biggest triggers, staring at me.
gah. lol, he bought a 5 lb tin of Danish butter cookies from Sam's last time we went. luckily, I don't like them because he'll eat a few at a time every few days...those cookies are going to be in my kitchen for a while.
