No changes on the scale yet for me. This week I'm upping my exercise, so hopefully it gets me out of this slump.

To try and motivate myself, I've started up a blog. Nothing fancy, just chronicling the process. I haven't quite found my place on here (why is there no student forum!?) so I figured I'd just start my own thing. If anyone is keen to read, the link is in my sig. If anyone else has a blog that needs readers pass along the link! :)

Will weigh in tomorrow morning...fingers crossed!

yellowpepper 11-13-2011 07:40 PM

I'm definitely in! It's a pretty good idea to actually post up this challenge for others to see  I wanna lose all the pounds I've (sadly) regained this month. 10 POUNDS HERE WE GO!

redballoon 11-14-2011 01:02 AM

Well, I just started, but registered what I think was a delayed loss on the scale this morning...at last! So, my goal of 5 lbs down by Dec. 1 is...

SW: 72 kg
CW: 71.6 kg
GW for Dec. 1: 69.7 kg (69.6 on my scale since it doesn't register 0.7 kg.)

This is, translated into pounds...

SW: 158.4 lb
CW: 157.5 lb
GW: 153.12 lb

ahyessophie 11-14-2011 09:57 AM

SW: 165
CW: 166 Eeeep. TOM is nearing.
GW: 155

howellbe 11-14-2011 10:22 AM

This is so awesome! I forgot to weigh myself yesterday, but I did today and I am down 3 pounds since last week!! It might be a fluke, but it is motivating me so much. I am so excited now to keep going. Its so strange that when I see a loss I keep going but when I stall I get discouraged. Makes sense, though: when you see all your effort actually making a difference, its a positive cycle. I can do this!

SW:216
CW:211.5
GW:206

kylonaa 11-14-2011 11:01 AM

I was really really hoping for 235 something this morning but got 236.0. Weird how .2 difference was the difference between being ecstatic and disappointed. Hopefully by the end of the week!

SW:241.8
CW:236.0
GW:231.8

baker23 11-14-2011 11:02 AM

howellbe- Congrats on the loss. :) And I'm the same way. The second the scale goes up I feel like giving up. Makes the next few days hard xD

Monday, Nov 7th-202.2
Monday, Nov 14th- 197.2

Last weeks weight was a pms gain. Still a few down though :)

berryblondeboys 11-15-2011 07:01 AM

Time for my week two update:

11/1/11: 184.0
11/8/11: 180.2 (down 3.8 pounds)
11/15/11: 178.2 (down another 2 for a total of 5.8 lost)
11/22/11:
11/29/11:
12/1/11: Goal weight: 174.0

It looks more impressive than it is. Three of those pounds were water weight with TTOM which I knew would come off immediately as they were a recent weight gain, but those three pounds also meant I didn't lose ANYTHING in October, so this is all good and it's getting me closer and closer to my weight loss goal for my birthday.

TXGirl487 11-15-2011 12:32 PM

This weeks update..

11/1 149.8
11/8 147.4 (-2.4)
11/15 144.6 (-2.8)
12/1 139.8

startswimming 11-15-2011 01:12 PM

Ok, quick check in here! I weighed in at 248 this morning. 5 down, 5 to go in 14 days! It seems like a lot of us are at about the same point for the month! :)

Bethedee! Congrats on ONEderland!!! Wooo! I can't wait to get there! :) you should celebrate!

Steph7409 11-15-2011 07:22 PM

I'm stalled at 179-180, so that's only 2-3 pounds lost this month. Drat. I'm still hoping for 175 by month end but I think I'd have to cut off a few fingers to get there.

Congrats!

I'm stuck. I knew this was probably going to happen. I lost 17lbs in October, didn't expect any this month. I'm doing ok with it now, but last week I was a wreck about it! lol Stupid hormones!

steinanwine 11-15-2011 08:18 PM

Its been a while since I've posted. October was an "off" month because I didn't work out EVERY single day like I did in September, but still lost 8 lbs.

Was trying to make November a more dedicated month but an immediate vacation at the beginning of the month stopped me from working out every day right away. Not giving up on that goal though!

As of this evening, after eating, and with some jewelry and underwears on I was 162. I am pretty darn happy about that. I definitely won't come anywhere close to losing 10 LBS this month but if I can just push into the 150's by the time I see my parents at Thanksgiving, I will be happy.

I feel better, I'm finally down a pant size in jeans and dress pants to a 12! I think I look way better. I'm just so happy with my success so far. I have reached my Thanksgiving goal of 162 before Thanksgiving arrived & I'm 1 lbs away from 20 LBS lost since Sept 3rd.

I just have to take every day one day at a time. I still eat really well, still do the WW, don't binge so I think that really helps if I miss a day working out but I am doing good. Determined to get into the 150's by next Thursday. Wow, Cannot believe Thanksgiving is a week away. I HOPE I MAKE IT TO 159!

Hope everyone else is trucking along. Dont worry about the Holidays, we can do this. I'll have my 1 day of indulgence but will not go overboard!

kateleestar 11-16-2011 11:18 AM

Checking in again! I'm down to 212, YEY!! This is the lowest I've been in years. :carrot:

SW: 218
CW: 212
GW: 208

In all honesty, I didn't think it was possible for me to really loose 10lbs in a month, but at the rate I'm going, I can do it. I know I can. This is really giving me the dedication I need to KEEP GOING!! That's my new motto, no matter what KEEP GOING!! :D

KEEP IT UP LADIES!!

startswimming 11-16-2011 01:23 PM

Hi all! I also am glad for this thread. It has been keeping me focused and motivated! :) I am also down another pound, which puts me at 247. Sorry for all of the whining I did about my plateau, I truly thought I was stuck forever. Ha.
Ok, back to work!

steinanwine 11-16-2011 07:12 PM

Way to go Kateleestar!! I didn't think it was possible either but lost 9 lbs in September, my first month trying, and that was an AMAZING feeling!!! What a kick in the butt to keep you going!!!!

Down to 160.8 this morning!! HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!!! Almost out of 160's and nearly at my goal of being in the 150s by the time I see my parents next Friday!!!!!!

SweetCurves32 11-16-2011 08:02 PM

Down 3.6 pounds! Since I started this challenge late, I will probably not make the whole ten pounds, but will happily take the loss and keep running with it and see where I end up Dec 1 :carrot:

ahyessophie 11-16-2011 08:31 PM

I'd been weighing in around 76kg for a while and today it was 74.6kg :) I moved the scale all over the bathroom to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Keep at it ladies!

I can't believe I'm losing again so soon. And so much at that! I was sure I was going to have a month long plateau! Only 3 more pounds to hit this goal this month! WOW!!

Kinda weird because yesterday was 183.6 then 181 this morning! I even changed new batteries in the scale and weighed myself in several places to be sure, lol. It does motivate me to keep drinking my water though. Most of you seem to be doing so wonderful and close to your GW. Keep it up!!!

I know! I love this challenge, lol... We have to do a 10-lbs-in-December too!! My 30th B-day is on 12/11 and I would LOVE to be at 199 by then. I'm not thinking that is going to happen, but if I'm at 205 or 20whatever, that'll be JUST AS GOOD!! I can't wait to see all those jerks on Christmas Eve with my new rocking body, since I've lost about 55lbs since I saw them last.

YEY!!

So excited!!

Scale is not moving. I am bummed. How do you all put up with that? Is there anything that makes it move? Anything you do? Those of you without that much to lose, who are having steady weight loss, how do you deal with these stalls? Do you just sit tight and continue on or do you shake something up?

Mimzzy 11-17-2011 03:30 PM

Still sitting at 140.5. I may have let myself snack a little to much last week but I am in total control this week hoping to see the scale go down soon! I probably wont make 10lbs but I am going to try my best! Gotta break through the 140's to the 130's.

It is hard to deal with a stall. I don't know what plan you are following, but you might need to re-assess what you're eating and your workouts.

amandie 11-17-2011 03:34 PM

I second what Pockets said, Redballoon. Are you drinking enough water?? Eating lot of sodium laden food lately?? I notice the water helps a lot when the numbers are not changing. It is hard to deal with especially if you've been OP and/or working out too. Just keep pushing through, you'll get there!

PreciousMissy 11-17-2011 03:59 PM

Well, well, well...only 2lb so far this month...the bright side is that I didn't gain 2lb this month.
11/1: 208
11/4: 206
11/10: 205

Oh, I hear ya... :(

I lost 4 pounds so far for the month, then this week, from one day to the next, gained SIX, and now am back to the original weight I started November at (so 4 pounds over what my low had been). Been there for 2 days - no idea why I gained so much (other than ovulation time - but that's crazy!).. and it's really sapping my motivation at the moment. Today I went off plan and had a few chocolate covered cookies and a few gummy bears. I was thinking to myself, 'why the h not??!!!'... all my hard work has been for nothing anyway!

But I immediately felt guilty and have since resolved to get back on the horse. Work out tomorrow morning regardless of what the scale says, and have a fantastic day. The scale WILL catch up with us if we continue to do what we're supposed to. My cookies will do nothing for me but hurt me in the log run.

So at least know that there are others suffering the frustration with you!

redballoon 11-17-2011 05:08 PM

kirsteng -- Thanks for the post. You sound like you're having a far worse time of it than I am even. I think if you have truly been good in between that loss and gain, then it was just a matter of a couple days and that weight would have come off. So DON'T blow it! It surely hasn't been "for nothing."

I weighed before and the number was a tad below yesterday and still at a near recent low. The lowest number was the day after drinking so I was no doubt dehydrated. However, with me, it's not just the weight. The measurements aren't budging either and that is really ticking me off. Then again, yesterday I did legs at the gym so maybe that's making my body hold water. I also ate quite a bit of salt yesterday, something I don't usually do.
I can't forget that water weight looks exactly like fat too, but it will come off in a whoosh if I don't blow it by getting all frustrated and giving up.
But it's SO hard, isn't it? And what really gets to me is that some people do seem to just take it off so easily. It's crazy! I put it on SO easily and yet not the other way around. What goes?!? Really. I can't figure it out and even if I could I don't think it would make it any easier. Sure, I guess I should be glad that my body protects me from starvation so well, but come on, it's ugly, so why does that have to be? Or have our concepts of "ugly" just become so warped? Sigh. I am just so bummed. But, really, thanks for showing me I'm not the only one...in amidst the ones for whom everything is easy.... :faint:

Steph7409 11-17-2011 07:24 PM

I'm in a stall, too. I think most people experience them. It's very frustrating and de-motivating, and it's hard to know if it's time to make a change to the plan.

And, as someone who does a lot of negative self-talk, I can tell you that that's not helpful. So please try not to think of yourself as ugly.

redballoon 11-18-2011 06:19 AM

Steph, thanks. I hope you get out of your stall too. You're so right. Having someone tell you helps. It really does. Thanks. By the way, are those your three kittens? Adorable.

kylonaa 11-18-2011 11:57 AM

Weighed in today at 233.8 for a loss of 8 so far... two pounds to go! This happened last month though too where I made it to my 10 pound goal and then gained a few back by the end of the month... with Thanksgiving coming up I really hope I can avoid that.

Feeling Upset,
My stupid scale gave me hope and then took it all away! I got on it this morning after a great day yesterday and it read 139.2! I was like holy **** and I may have even clapped for myself a little bit. I wanted to see the number again so I got back on and it read 141.2......... I weighed myself 3 more times after that all reading the higher weight. DAMN IT! I must have stepped on the scale funny the first time. I had a hard work out yesterday so I'm hoping the extra pound is just water retention since I had a GREAT day yesterday.

Anyway, that's my small rant. I'll just keep plugging away, who knows maybe tomorrow I will actually be 139?

Keep up the great work everyone!

I am so with you. Two days ago I was 180, yesterday 175, today back up to 180. WTF!?! And I'm using an analog scale, not digital. So discouraging.
