Yes! When I first started I lost 8lb the first 4 weeks...then the next 3 weeks nothing...nada, zero, zip, zilch! But, despite my frustration I stuck with it. Then on the 8th week I lost 4 more.

Just keep doing what you're doing...it'll happen!

So far doing pretty good, though a lot of the loss was water weight from bad Halloween eating I had to lose a second time. Feeling good though and every once in a while I catch a look of myself in a mirror and do a double take- I think its still subtle changes but I'm starting to be able to tell!

So maybe a 1.5 lb loss in a week isn't all that great for trying to lose 10lbs in a month, but its darn good for me! Esp as of late.
8.5lb to go for this month and 15.5 for my mini goal by new years. I can do this!!

I'm down 2, from 182 to 180, but I feel like I'm hitting my first plateau so I doubt I'll lose 10 this month. I'm impatient to hit 175, which would be 50 total and would get me out of the "overweight" BMI. I keep telling myself it will happen if I just stick with the plan.

I think I'm going to stay in the 150s for months unless I start to exercise. -_- being goal-oriented is helpful but man... I feel so inefficient

Hi all! Looks like everyone is edging down! :) Wooo!

I have been stuck at 251 for days and days.....since I have been really good with my eating and rocking the gym (weights and 30 mins a day on the elliptical) I was starting to get frustrated. I weighed in at 250 even this morning though so I was glad to finally see scale movement. I also sort of laughed, because it was 250.0 and I soooooo want to see the 240's. I mean I am ONE stinkin' OUNCE from the 240's!! Ha! So, we shall see what the next few days bring!!! Happy weighins to all!

I'm not doing so well this month. I blame my cycles. I retain water really really bad all during my cycle. I can only trust my cycle day 6-8 weigh-ins. Last cycle, I was 194 on cycle day 1, then by cycle day 7 I was 182. Well today I am cycle day 19, ovulating (finally) and super bloated. I suppose I can still catch up the last week of the month! :)

Well after 10 days I finally got the monkey off my back and lost a darned pound! ;) It only took having a touch of the flu - oh well, at least it worked! But now I'm REALLY hoping that it's the start of bigger things or I'm not going to get anywhere near my goal this month!

Well my twelve days at the same weight have finally paid off - I lost 2 more this morning! My pattern is really starting to establish itself: lose quickly for 5 days or so, hold for 1 -2 weeks (with a gain of 1 or 2 and bouncing around), then a quick loss again over 5 days or so. Knowing that will certainly help push through the frustration on the next 12 days holding...

Hey! I thought I'd check in on my break. I am super annoyed with this plateau! I continue staying on plan, working out etc and yet I am just stuck at 250! Ugh. What annoys me most is that I am definitely not eating the calorie load it would take to become or maintain 250lbs. I just can't understand why I stalled out. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be a big scale whoosh! :). I hope you are all having a great day! :)

I'm feeling the same way Startswimming... I've been bouncing around between 236 and 240 for two weeks now. I'm just going to keep on doing what I've been doing and trust that the scale will catch up eventually! Hope it does for you too!

I'm actually up 2 pounds, back where I started the month. And I haven't gone off plan or stopped exercising, so I guess this is my first plateau. It sucks. I was so hoping to make it out of "obese" this month!

Hi, people. I'm looking for support. Trying to lose about 40 lbs and just feeling discouraged because...oh, you know the usual.

I went looking for new threads and saw this one. It's too late to do 10 lbs by Dec. 1, but I could set a goal of 5. I weigh in kilograms and figure that from my present weight as of this morning of 72 kg to drop 5 lbs would put me at 69.7 kg. I'd like to make that my Dec. 1 challenge..... :dancer:

I've lost and gained the same 10 lbs over and over again. My weight stabilizes at about 72 kg or a bit more. From mid-October I've lost a whopping 1.8 kg, about 4 lbs and though it was good to do that, I am in that danger area of not being happy with the little I've taken off and ready to just crumble into my usual state of "Oh, what's the point?"

Don't know if you welcome new people, but thought I'd ask....

Another one down today, probably the tail end of my whoosh, but I'm thrilled as yesterday afternoon I blew my plan and ended up the day 300 over with some poor choices. Maybe I'll pay for it tomorrow - we'll see... ;)

But why should I be? Its just a number. I know I am shrinking slowly and I just need to keep going. I can do this. Good or bad tomorrow morning I am making progress. The number is just one of many ways to measure ;)

kirsteng -- Thanks so much for the welcome! :yes: You are almost a full foot taller than I am! It looks like you're making good progress on your weight loss. Congratulations! :yay: I really like your reward plan. I have to think something like that up. Oh, and I see you had another whoosh down. :bravo: I hope it will stabilize lower for you!

amandie -- I am wondering if the scale reading was one you wanted or not? I guess (with the carrot) you were happy about it. However, as I know my way around with hangovers and weight loss, a low reading is the usual because of dehydration. Of course, it could be both with you. Don't (as I often do) overdo it and undo the loss! Best of luck! :goodluck:

howellbee -- Great attitude about the scale tomorrow! You are right. It's just one day and even if you are heading down, you could experience a high reading. Nonetheless, I hope the scale reflects your efforts! Fingers crossed! :crossed:

OK....peeking in because I am finally out of the 250's!!!! I weighed in at 249 this morning. Still just one pound in nearly a week, but mentally I really wanted to be under 250!! :)

Those 10-pounds milestones are big psychologically, aren't they? I just broke 180, after bouncing between 180 and 182 for over a week. It's just a pound but it makes a big difference.

I won't make my goal for November but I'm happy to have moved off that particular plateau.
