I don't think it it an ultimatum. He has mentioned several times that if I lose weight I get to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe. He is wanting me to lose it for my health. I want to lose it for me and for him. I did joined LA Weight Loss in 2001 and had lsot 50 pounds and I was doing so good, then I began to have problems at work and stopped following the plan and started eating like I was before and put all the weight back on and then some. This is the heaviest that I have ever been. I am miserable. I NEED to lose this weight, for him, for my daughter and above all for ME.

I have been searching for my card from LA to start that back up, but for the life of me I cannot find it anywhere. I can find everything else for it but the plan itself. I have tried weight watchers and did not do too well on it in the past, but I have gone and gotten all the new information and I am going to try it again. Meanwhile, I am still going to search for my other information. If anyone out here is on LA and they are on the gold plan, and are willing to share the infor I would greatly apprechiate it. It seems that so far that is the only thing that I was able to lose weight on.

TXGirl487 11-03-2011 10:16 AM

I would love to try for 10 by Dec. 1st. Last month was a total loss of only a couple pounds. Very disappointing. Between the doctor/neurologist/pain management visits for a neck injury/nerve damage to the ever changing medications, I'm just glad I didn't gain :) So here I am! Trying for 10, hopefully I get at least 5. I wish you all good luck and an on plan month! We can do this!!

Here's the link to LAWL forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/la-weight-loss-171/

I used to be on LAWL, Gold Plan. Lost like 40 lbs. Then they closed up the shop in my town. And the only option left is the on-line version. Needless to say, I gain 30 of it back. Lost some, gained some. And currently I'm the lowest weight that I got while on LAWL. Hence I'm stuck on this weight for like 2 weeks now...

I'm happy that you are losing the weight for you, hubby and daughter. That's the best motivation, for your health and being around your family. You can do it!

rissimo, not that your motivation needs any explanation, but I'm glad you cleared that up, lol. When I read your post yesterday I was wondering what kind of husband would put a deadline on weight loss .

Well, I seem to have jolted my weight loss after being stuck for 2.5 weeks!

OK this is what I need. I am just starting, so this is the motivation I could use to get the weight loss going. I am currently at 210 and would LOVE to be at 200 by Dec. 1st. It will be a challenge since there is a holiday this month. Here is to staying on track.

Ok, well I guess this makes more sense. The first post you made sounded like he had given you 8 months to lose it or he was leaving you.. that would have been concerning. :^:

Absolutely 100% in. I lost weight in October but did not dedicate myself to the gym like I did in September. Ready to rededicate myself this month. Already made myself proud by going to the gym everyday this week. I have a few weeks left until I see my parents at Thanksgiving & I know if I keep eating right and go to the gym as much as humanly possible I can push into the 150's before I see my parents!!! I HAVE TO DO THIS!!!!

kateleestar 11-04-2011 08:00 AM

Morning!

Today's weigh in was 214.6. Worked 16 hour days all this week (so far, hopefully not today!) and I finally got to do my first workout of the week last night... and then I collapsed into bed, lol.

Whew, I'm tired, but I'm happy with my loss so far! Working for/from/because of the storm on the east coast means long days and 3 meals a day ordered in.. Ugh. I've managed to keep my cals under 1600ish each day. I've also tried to get up from my desk and walk around 10 times a day, besides just bathroom trips!

I will make this! WE ALL CAN DO THIS! :carrot:

WOO! (I think I'm hyper from lack of sleep...)

Raine 11-04-2011 10:03 AM

Weighed in at 196.6 which is a huge motivation for me right now. I had a binge episode the other day, so seeing good numbers on a scale (even though they aren't the most important factor) is just a reminder that the weight does come off.

I take medications for anxiety/depression and I'm always worried I won't be able to lose any weight because of them.. on the meds I've gained all of my weight. I've been using those meds as an excuse for so long, but I'm wondering if really they had little to do with my weight gain and it was all me feeling better and eating more as a result.

I hope it's the latter. Because I can fix that!

Still have about 2 weeks before my Elliptical gets here (I ordered it yesterday). Gives me something to look forward to, haha.

Ryler832 11-04-2011 10:11 AM

I only lost 3 lb last month so I'm aiming to lose at least 4 lb this month. My body doesn't seem to want to let the weight go.

wtfudge 11-04-2011 11:38 AM

^ I have that problem too... I feel like I need to shock/surprise my body or something :s

Anyways, I think I'm down to 154.8 from 156.2 - realistically. I didn't eat much except yesterday when I did around 1600 calories so yeahh

Ok, those of you that have managed to lose 7-10lb in a month, I need your advice. Any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I have just under 2 months to lose 17lbs. Its not a do or die thing but I would really like to be under 2002 by Nest Years.
Any ideas?

Calorie counting has always done the trick to me, plus regular exercise. There's no real trick or magic solution, it's just calories in / calories out.

17 lbs in 2 months is, in my opinion, very doable if you are committed to it.

Set yourself some habits and schedules, which is what I try to do. I have a bottle of water with me everywhere and always sipping on it (to up the water intake -- water helps flush the crap out of your system which in turn helps your metabolism), I have set times each day that I will exercise and I know what I will be doing each and every day so I never have to "figure it out", I just know ahead of time all the time and can expect it, and plan your meals out -- you can even do this for days or weeks at a time! This way you know what's going down at any point in time.

I also have a very big rule I never break: I don't put it in my mouth unless I know exactly (within reason) how many calories are in it. This means if it isn't packaged with this information, I have to google it / look it up, then weigh it and determine to a reasonable degree how many calories are in it.

If I don't know? I don't eat it. Plain and simple. This has kept me on track in the past.

Habits and schedules keep me on track. If I don't have these things, I'm lost.

Once you get about a week of these habits/schedules under your belt, it becomes more automatic over time. You just know what needs to be done, and you've got a track record of getting it done, so you just.. keep going :D

That's just my personal plan of attack though. I'm very schedule-minded.

Zoseph 11-04-2011 02:23 PM

This is totally happening! I missed out on October but I've been meaning to get to 135 for weeks and it just isn't happening. Hopefully this will be the push that I've needed!

solarplant 11-05-2011 02:13 PM

@howellbe I definitely echo what Raine has said. To keep a schedule and just monitor everything you're eating. Exactly what Raine said, if you can't even reasonably figure out how many calories are in something, then eat something else.

I otherwise will say, let's say your day looks to be a rough day where you think you can't find time to exercise. I say on those days, commit to exercising at least 20 minutes, even if it's just a walk. I did the last month to try to reduce the number of days I didn't work out because of life and I still lost 8 pounds for the month through working out, even if it was only a little bit per day, and counting calories. :)

Good luck!

As for me, ugh my scale has not been kind this month. I started off the month at 176 and I'm still at 176, it even went up to 178 a few days then came back to 176. :(

I was able to work out 5 days this week, so I'm still on track with that. I know I have ate a little more this week, bit I am sure I have not had more than 1500 calorie days. This is high for me since I normally stick to 1300 calorie days. :(

Ahh tomorrow is my birthday! In the morning I am going to run my 2nd 10K race (a free race put on by my friend who works at a running store!) and then i'm going to enjoy sushi as my birthday dinner.

I hope my body cooperates with me here soon!

Raine 11-05-2011 02:57 PM

Happy early birthday, solarplant :D

Anndddd I weighed 153.5 this morning. Let's see if I can not fall off the wagon. -_- I'm mostly calorie-counting/window-fasting and stalking the scale. It's hard because if I get hungry, I know I must eat and I hence I do eat -- to avert a future binge-session. On the flip side, I have to make sure I don't eat too much and that I watch the portions.

Nevertheless... I'm going back to the place I was at a few years ago when I dieted - and then I bounced back and gained 30 lb in one year :O :O - but basically, I've never been more than a few pounds lighter than I am right now. :^:

I'm down almost 3lbs so far. I always go up a little on monday morning, I think it's cause of the eating-out-sodium from the weekends, but itll be gone asap! I've upped my water intake and my activity, without changing my calories, and it seems to be working, so I'm happy!

I binged. It wasn't pretty. My youngest dog broke her leg over the weekend... and there was no stopping it. It was a really stressful situation where not only was health a concern, but finances as well (A break in a dog's leg costs about $2,000 to repair). I'm lucky I didn't fall into a full-blown mental-health-related breakdown which I am definitely prone to doing when this much crap hits the fan all at once...

So I commend myself for somehow making it through this with ONLY binging frankly.

I'm still 5 lbs (at 196.2) down from my very first starting weight. Still trying to be positive... trying not to let these things set me back all the way to the beginning and just say "to heck with it, what's the point".

Ugh..

(my dog is in surgery today btw)

While the procedure is expensive, her leg is being repaired with bone plates (metal plates) and those plates will allow her full mobility in her leg. She'll be able to walk and will only be in minimal pain, almost right away after surgery.

In a way it is a blessing in disguise.. if it had been a hairline fracture, she would have been put in a cast and would have had no use of the leg for 6 to 8 weeks and be put on strict bedrest!

She just has to be restricted from running/jumping. So while it is pricey, it is worth it. It was also necessary, her break was a clean straight-through-the-bone break with full dislocation of the bones, it was not a fracture by any means.

Funny thing is.. it happened by her jumping off a chair. That's all it took. She landed on a hard object when she hit the ground and rolled her leg hard.. bam. Broken.

Scary..
