oh dear.....we are going to the new pool in town tomorrow...most likely with several children, only one of which is ours...and i will be wearing my swimsuit...i can fit it, i know, and i'll feel decent doing so but still....

EDIT: wowww the swimsuit doesnt fit...it's TOO BIG!!...i mean wayyyy too big LOL! the last time i wore it, i dunno a few years ago or more, it was so tight that the chest part was like a sports bra and it was hard to get on...just now i took it off because i thought i had it on wrong because it was so loose! the butt is so loose that it doesnt conceal anything...the chest is so big that my boobs just flop around in there and you can see all the way down when i bend over...i told my sister "maybe it just stretched out after all these years" and she said "it doesnt stretch out by sitting in your drawer for years" lol! there is no WAY i can decently wear that thing out in public and i wont pay $20+ for a new one to wear one time to the pool...looks like it's shorts and tee shirt tomorrow for me

Alaskan those are scary flooding pics on your FB page! My favorite pic however was the deviled eggs. I haven't had DE in years; it's not a dish here in this country. Please post your recipe someday; I want to try yours because they look more visually interesting than the regular yellow mustard kind we used to have in North Carolina...

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I got more sleep last night than I did the previous 3 days. I got 7 hours sleep. Of course I would have rather it been more, but I will take it.

I don't know if my current lip situation is a new reaction or just a continuation of the reaction from last weekend. At this point, for my sanity, I am going to avoid all tree nuts, legumes, coconut, peanuts, beans, etc. I lost a lot of water weight over night. That is a sign that my body was definitely reacting to something since last weekend.

When I was in weight loss mode, these reactions would be so upsetting for me. I would think that my body was turning against me and gaining weight for no reason. I would also think that I was doing something wrong, although I was doing the same thing I had been doing all along.

Weigh In: 144.4
Down: 2.4 pounds of water weight, crazy stuff!

Eeeep I never got around to my check in yesterday. I weighed in at 286.6 yesterday, this morning I'm 287.6

I think I'm gonna change my signature to reflect my gain. That one pound must have been a fluke. : (

I'm still sticking to my calories and I'm off to run this morning--yesterday was my rest day, so I swam instead--but boy, in three weeks of extremely hard work I really would like to see a positive shift. Maybe I should be measuring myself instead.

It's not even close to my TOM or anything!

Hope everyone else is having more success than I am. I'm about to go to my doctor, grab him by the lapels, and give him a good shake while hollering, "WHAT..*sob*...IS....WRONG....WITH...MEEEEEEE! ?"

Just, you know. So he can take out a restraining order.

Be good, hope you're all having more success than I am recently!

Mojojuju Good Morning. I am sorry that you are having a rough time of it. I have been very busy and dealing with a lot of stuff so I haven't been able to keep up with everyone. What is your daily calorie range? What is your carb/protein intake?

Alaskan It's getting a little looser from you getting smaller, but mostly it's the elastic in the swimsuit is deteroriating - even with just sitting in a drawer. Unless you've lost like 150 pounds a swimsuit won't go from too tight to hanging like that. I've lost about 80 from my highest weight and my swimsuit STILL didn't hang like that. It was too loose to wear, but not saggy. Saggy means the rubber has dried up (like a rubber band that sits in a drawer will snap and be brittle).

Diana3271 I'm not an expert on nut allergies, but I know a lot of people allergic to peanuts and they are similar enough to tree nuts that there is often a crossover allergy, but I have never heard of someone being allergic to legumes as well as peanuts. And I just looked it up and that tends to be true for most people. http://foodallergies.about.com/od/nu...nutsandsoy.htm. I know you are trying to find an answer and it must be very frustrating, but giving up all those foods for naught seems a bit too much because how will you then pinpoint - is it peanuts, or is it tree nuts, or is it legumes?

But nice whoosh!

K9owner Have a nice trip despite your hitchhiking friend, TTOM.

Mojojuju I'm sorry the scale is fickle. As you weight more frequently, you may notice you have a pattern of holding water and releasing water. I'm the queen of this and now that I understand it, I don't get as frustrated, but it can be hard when you are working hard and not seeing the expected results. Just rest assured, it WILL happen though. If you find it doesn't, go get a physical. It could be your thyroid (numbers should be under 3.0 unlike the old 5.0 and specialists like it closer to 1.0).

And speaking of holding water weight, my body is in day two of my monthly water shedding. Down 1.2 today to bring me to my all time low! Woohoo!!! Now the remainder of this watershed is all new territory and I'm now less than a pound from losing 60 pounds! Woohoo! Can't wait!

Berry Congrats on the 1.2 pounds! How is your DS doing this morning? Actually peanuts are in the legume family. So if you have an allergy to peanuts you could react to other legumes, too. I am just going to avoid it until I get the results from the allergist. I don't consume much in those food families anyways. Heck, if I can avoid everything in the mustard family the other should be pretty easy.

Well, true, avoiding the mustard family was a much bigger feat. I sure hope you can pinpoint it soon!

And I don't know how my older son is this morning. He's still sleeping.

Update: weighed myself after my run, and apparently I sweated off 3 lbs. Woah! 284.5?!

That's it, I'm deciding to only weigh myself once a week, or maybe two weeks. I have never weighed myself with such frequency before, the water roller coaster is gonna drive me mad!

So Diana, Thanks for the hugs!! I am really tall, so I take in about 2280 calories each day, cycling up to about 2700 to 2500 on my two high days per week. According to my little online calculator, that's about right for weight loss at my weight and activity level (45-60 mins cardio 6 days a week). It seems high, but a friend who is a personal trainer said I could go as high as 3000 per day and still lose weight. Believe me, I'm huge. My title is not really a joke, lol! When I was 12, I was the same height, a ballet dancer and a swimmer. I weighed 165, solid muscle.
I don't measure grams of protein, I try to just have some protein and some healthy carbs with every small meal (once every two hours or so). Stuff like Kashi, grapefruits, yogurt with a scoop of protein powder, eggs, yadda yadda. No breads or white flours whatsoever--that stuff might as well just be candy bars for me the way it goes straight to my butt! Do you measure your protein/carb ratio?

alaskanlaughter: WOW ON THE BATHING SUIT! DOESN'T THAT FEEL GREAT?! I wish I knew how to make one of those little cheerleader emoticons for you, haha!

Btw, I can't tell you how much I enjoy your Alaskan tidbits! It really sounds like you love where you live, and reading your posts is sometimes like reading a travel journal. You and your family seem really fortunate in your choice of locale!

BerryBlondeBoys: I hope your poor kid finally starts feeling better! And thank you for the kind words. I've decided that I'm going to weigh once a week. I also think I'm going to start measuring. I can FEEL how much better my body is with this regimen--I have more energy, I feel more positive, and my calves are like ROCKS at the moment, heh! I really could be building just enough muscle week to week (My program keeps increasing in difficulty) to keep my body retaining water to heal the torn muscles. How long would you say I should wait till I go see a doc? Five weeks? Six? Maybe things will even out and start slowly moving down by then and I can stop worrying, lol!
