The scale scared me this morning, said I didn't lose anything. So I took my pant off (my usual weigh-in is just a t-shirt) and still no loss. So I tried one more time and there was a 3 pound loss, which I didn't believe either. So about an hour later I tried again...2 pounds down! So I met my challenge for the first time ever. And I stuffed myself into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in a while. They are a bit uncomfortable. I am hoping they will remind me of the work that's still ahead!!
Congrats to all the losers and see ya at the next challenge!!

Wow, everyone is doing so good. And I agree, a loss is a loss is a loss. I'm down one pound. I think that puts me at one under my goal. So I didn't quite make it. But I'm thrilled with my progress none the less. I did my measurements this morning too. 3 inches off my waist, 2 off my hips and 1 from each thigh. That's since 12/15. I was thrilled!! Made my day, I'll tell you that much. I have done really well today with my repenting for last night. We ended up getting wings again, they are trying to kill me, I'm sure of it. I think I had 11 of them, and a big bowl of fat free veggie soup. Some good to balance out my bad, I guess. I did 5 miles on the treadmill this morning. I'm trying to increase my speed and distance each week. Last week I did 12 miles. This week 20.75. I'm finding that I can maintain a jogging pace a lot longer too. Man is it hard work though. I'm still working toward jogging a solid mile straight. Still have not done it, but I am sooo close. I've never been able to do that in my life.
You all are just doing so good, it really motivates me to try to keep up. Thanks!!!! 15 pounds in one month is absolutely incredible, way to go Amy. Angie, do you here the 150's calling? You are amazing. Congrats on meeting your goal Apple Blossom!! You must be feeling great. I wear tight jeans some days too. Just a LITTLE REMINDER TO MY BODY OF WHAT WE'RE STRIVING FOR. HE HE... Jen, congrats on making the ten pound mark, I love dropping into a different "bracket". Enjoy your victory!! I'm so proud of everyone here!! Have a wonderful weekend, TTFn,

Wow everyone has done amazing!
I seem to have lost about 1/2 more lb which brings me to a total of 4. My goal was 5. I am not quite sure what I am doing wrong. I have been working out 5x a week doing 45-60 min of cardio each workout and 3 resistance training workouts. I have been drinking tons of water and my diet generally consists of a luna bar for breakfast. Lunch of a light salad or bagel..and a sensible and low calorie dinner. I have a couple light snacks too. Hmmm possibly time to consult the experts. I have hypothyroidism but I am on meds for that. I don't have much weight to lose so maybe mybody is just fighting for every lb.

I am very excited for the next challenge when does it begin??

That is so funny that you all mention tight jeans! The ones I have been trying to SQUEEZE into I finally did. I wore them for the entire day today and I have the waistband marks, but you are right it does help to remind us of where we are going.
I think you all are doing so great!!!

Default BIG NEWS

I am liking flying on the highest cloud. I recieved a letter today from the college I attend. I wasn't expecting any correspondence or anything; I was surprised to be recieving anything.

WELL...when I opened it...OMG tears started forming in my eyes and by the end of it I didn't know if I wanted to cry or scream or both. I have been recognized for my hard work and scholastic achievement that they are inviting me to join Alpha Beta Gamma International Buisness Honor Society at Del Mar College(which is the school I attend). I mean it just blew my mind beyond description. I know I work hard but not becuase I want to be recognized but because I want better for my family. My husband refers to me as a nerd but in a very loving way. He is very supportive of my determination. I am so unsure of accepting this award only because I don't know the requirements and I don't know if I can provide all that they require. It's a big honor but if I can't follow through I'd rather not even waste anyone's time. Just to be recognized is amazing in itself.

Well I am out of here. I will let you all know what is going to happen. I have to decide whether or not I would like to join and attend a introduction meeting on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Talk to you all later.

Just checking in (better late than never). Down -.8 lbs this week for a total of 3.6 for the whole challenge. My goal was 5 - but I'll happily take 3.6...

Congrats to everyone on the whole challenge! Nothing quite like having people to cheer you on to get through this. Everyone did great and it was really fun!!!

it's so difficult to know how to count it sometimes. I was 157 when the challenge began - went up to 159 for a week or more (holidays) then finally started back down and hit 155 this morning. I hit 154 a couple times this past week, so maybe that's what I should count for my final.

Whatevah! LOL At least I'm sticking with it and dumped the holiday weight. Did an all fruit and broth day yesterday to make up for champagne and pizza on my birthday Wednesday. It worked.

Good afternoon all! Has anyone else noticed Gennel being MIA? She must be having a busy weekend. Hope everything is ok.
Baylee, there should be a new challenge starting in a day or so there will be a link here to the new one. Glad to have you and congrats on your loss so far!! I've been trying really hard on my eating. The exercise part I enjoy but it is so hard for me to stick to a low cal/points diet. AARRGGHH! Today I'm doing great so far but we're soposed to go to a new mexican place for dinner because my grandma is in town. Is there any low fat mexican food?
Kina, congratulations!! What an honor. It's always nice to be recognized for your hard work. You desearve it!!
And congrats to Rusty and Madcat on your losses too! Way to go ladies!!
LOL, I kinda want to watch the game just for the commercial but I think we'll be at dinner then. My dh is going to his buddies house to watch, lucky duck! I get the kiddos for the evening. Everyone take care, TTFN,

Serina - Restaurant Confidential recommends chicken or shrimp fajitas - lots of peppers, onions, lettuce, salsa and pico de gallo. 840 calories for four with flour tortillas. Skip the chips, cheese, sour cream, red meat, sauces and guacamole and you save another 800 calories.

That's what I order every time and enjoy taking the time to roll each fajita and munch and talk. Chicken tacos are also on the Best Bites list.

Gennel mentioned that she has parties to attend (her business) this weekend.

Hi Baylee! Welcome to our group. It is a great group of people. We all get and offer so much support to each other.

Serina, I watch for the commercials too. LOL I am not a big sports fan at all.

Rusty, Is that book a big help? I may have to get one. I usually go to all the restaurant sights to try to see which ones I can eat at.

Welcome Baylee! Lot's of wonderful people here. They are ready to support you and get you motivated and well sometimes we need the same in return. I tell you I think this is the most I have lost since joining 3FC and most of all this particular thread. The motivation is high here and you can't but help to try and stay in the running but on a healthy level.

Laney~~~Thanks so much for noticing. I am really excited of being given the recognition in just a simple letter but I am hoping that if I do accept the nomination that I will be able to continue to uphold the requirements. Thank you again. Yes, Gen has been kind of busy lately. Hmmm?

[B]Gen Dear are you there?[B]

Serina, Angie~~~I am not a crazy football person but I am geared up to see the commercials too. I can't wait to see that one with Ozzy.

Rusty~~~ooow you have my mouth watering each time you post. Yum shrimp fajitas! Congratulations on getting back to your pre holiday weight...same here. I was 198.5 two weeks ago and managed to back down to 194.5 this morning. Now let's see if we can keep it going in the right direction.

Madcat~~~Applauds to you. You are doing great!

Clarita~~~Way to go! Don't frett over the slow down of your losses. Sometimes your body is just adjusting and at the same time if you are doing the same work out each and everyday you need to shake it up a bit.

AppleBlossom~~~ROTFL...determination will get you anywhere and everywhere. A woman's got to do what a woman's got to do. You did awesome.

Jen~~~Woohoo girlfriend! You are going going and soon you will be gone.

Lidian~~~Yeah! Small goals are the best way to accomplishing this cycle of life.

Amazing Amy need I say more. Big Thumbs up to you!

Angie~~~I do like your new pic. I don't know about anybody else but I think you look much younger than the other pic you had.

Okay I am out of here. I have to get done with some homework. Talk to you all later.

Hi again everyone! Hello to Baylee, and welcome. Kina, congrats to you! And way to go to everyone else for continuing to fight the good fight.

I lost a lot of weight this challenge, but I want you to know that after weigh-in yesterday, I went a little "off". I'll talk about more in detail in my journal if you want to check it out. I guess I just wanted to take a weekend break after doing so well for many weeks. I don't feel guilty or bad about it, but I may be up a few pounds from my lowest once the new challenge starts up.
Que sera, sera. I know which direction I am headed overall, and that is the important thing.

And I feel weird saying this, but I think getting into the 260s, even the teeny bit I did, felt a little overwhelming. I'm not sure how to describe how I felt... great, sure, but strange, too. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I'm off to journal land... here's to another fantastic challenge. I can't wait for the next one! I'd like to make it to the 250s!

Love you all,

Amy

Angie - the book is really fun to read - but it doesn't have calorie counts for each restaurant chain - like some books. Restaurant Confidential discusses the menu selections in each TYPE of restaurant and steers you away from the fatty/salty stuff.

They recommend Best Bites for Italian, Greek, Mexican, Chinese, Family-Style, Mall, Pizza, Fast Food, Steak House, and other types of food. I re-read it when I'm sitting here waiting for a page to load and I pick up new info EVERY time and that helps keep me on the straight and narrow.

Default I'm Back!!

Good Morning everyone!
I had no chance to get online this weekend! I have this small home based business for Party Rentals. During the week I'm home answering the phone and taking reservations for ,tables, chairs, bouncehouses, cotton candy machines etc... It's rare that they request an attendant for these events but they do sometimes. Anyway we had saturday and sunday reserved. They wanted 2 attendants so my hubby and I both go. So we made good money for this weekend but we are soooooo tired. ITs not even like we were working 8 hours! But its more like 4 hours of NONstop serving for 400+ people.I didnt get to sit down for a minute. Finally with 30 min left things got slow and we decided to grab a quick bite to eat. I ran and served hubby some food and we ate or should I say swallowed our food standing up. When I look at my spot I see a line of about 20+ waiting for cotton candy! I dump my food and run over there.
We got paid for an extra hour and then we left. We were home early but we dont get to rest at that time either Then its time to clean out all the machines ... Sunday was worse. We got burned from the sun and we both had bad headaches from the direct sunlight in our face. Ok now !
I have to say a huge congrats to all and I mean all you losers for this challenge! I totally love to read the posts of losses reported! Yipppeeeeeeee!!!!! Everyone is doing awesome!!!!
Kina a huge congrats for that honor!
Rusty I read your post but didnt see what was the loss for this week or the total loss for the challenge?
Tight jeans! I can remember putting on tootight jeans , they didnt even go past my hips. A month later I tried again, they went up but I needed to lose like another 3 inches to close the zipper! Then finally another month passed and I got them zipped up! Well they zipped up but I was so uncomfortable! I had marks around my waist as well but I was just so thrilled that they zipped so I didnt care ! lol Save the jeans for another 4 weeks and you will be pleasantly surprised!I'll start the challenge today! So watch out for the new link here!
