Hey there Ladies.. I finally got the go ahead for a signature so I got my ticker running and wanted to make a post to see how it looks.. lol ha... I am having a super hard tme gettin moving today.. I feel really slow and blah.. I managed breakfast this morning and that was it so far.. and it is 10 to 4 in the afternoon..I had liek a 3 hour nap earlier.. I feel slightly nausous.. agh I really hope I am not coming down with something...be back in a bit!

Sunnigummi 08-29-2009 08:06 PM

Gosh, I feel really full. Ugh.

Let's confess.

Breffix - Instant oatmeal maple & brown sugar with extra cinnamon (160 cals), 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder (120 cals)

Snack - cinnaroll (70 cals) :p

Lunch - Curried onion and potato with 2 rotis (500 cals)

Snack - Um. 4 cinnarolls (280 cals)

Dinner - 1 cup veggie rice + chicken from last night, 3 alu tikkis (potato cakes, kinda like latkes) and some curried onion and potato (1 million calories)

Ugh, I'm FULL from dinner. The problem was I took a nap in the afternoon. Woke up, went grocery shopping, came back and had to cook dinner. I was hungry so I stuffed myself with cinnarolls. Should not have done that. Oh well. What's done is done. My dinner didn't look like it was too much, but once I ate it, I was just super full. Should've stopped at the last tikki. It was too much. Grrr. Anyway. I'm guessing I hit 2000 for today. We also didn't exercise. I'm getting too complacent with the exercise. Time to kick my butt back into gear.

Sunnigummi 08-29-2009 08:09 PM

Cape, forgot to add that I love your trackers! The Xmas one is really cute. You look really pretty in your profile pic too. :D

Cape Breton Chick 08-29-2009 08:25 PM

Aweee Sunni! thanks so much.. i love that pic. that is my neice with me Britney.. she is 16 and is like my very own.. we are really close.. this was taken at her bf's prom this year..and i so hear you on the exercise.. I have to start some kind of plan here soon.. I think I pretty well have the meal thing down.. so now to add everyday exercise!

Here is my confession for today!

Breakfast - 2 medium eggs scrambled, 2 pcs. of multigrain toast with 2 tsp. margarine and 2 tsp. of my moms raspberry freezer jam(YUMMY!) and a glass (8oz) of skim milk

no lunch or am snack.. was feelin blah and did what i never ever do and went back to bed and slept most of the day away...i am not sick like my co-workers and friends, but I am thinkin its a combo of this inner ear bug i have which is nothing much and TOM is coming up soon...always get super tired before that..

afternoon snack - 36g. of Skinnys Sour Cream n Onion Corn Puffs, 1 cup of 7up

Dinner - 3oz chicken breast(shredded) and 2 tbsp honey garlic bbq sauce on a multigrain bun, sweet potato fries and 1/2c. 7up

only 2 glasses of water so far gonna have at least 2 more before day is done for me

Daily Alotted Caloric Intake -> 1,200 -1,550
Calories Eaten -> 1,204

Hydra 08-29-2009 08:26 PM

I did well today, right back on track after going over yesterday.

coffee with creamer
water

2 slices of gluten free bread with tuna salad and onion
dill pickle
big serving of steamed broccoli

fettechini alfredo meal by gluten free cafe **this was very good**
peas
water, water, water

carrots and celery to munch on this evening
reduced fat french dressing

I still have 175 calories for the day and I will snack on fruit and maybe some milk or yogurt in a bit. I have fresh cranberries and blueberries!

Dagny18 08-29-2009 08:30 PM

Haha confessions! I need to confess...
will you forgive me for eating, not one, not 2 but 2 and a half slices of zucchini bread?! My mom made it, I have no idea what it is in or the true calorie value of it.
But I think all is ok. I have decided to try breaking through my plateau by eating more calories. I found one thing that said to eat up to 2000 calories but I think aiming to eat 1700-1800 is better. I even planned to eat some yogurt but I want some peaches instead...all other food/meals were on plan!

Cape Breton Chick 08-29-2009 08:43 PM

That is Awesome Hydra! good for you! if you have any gluten free recipes you would like to share I would love to hear them.. I have IBS and i find the more gluten free I eat the better i feel.. I can still eat multigrains n such but limited per day, but when it comes to pastas.. i only buy Gluten free
DagnyI love zucchini bread! mmm... and yea I have heard alot of people talking about calorie staggering.. like some days higher then others...seems to be working for lots of people!
O...Echooo... come out come out whereever you are! where are you hiding today?

Sunnigummi 08-29-2009 09:14 PM

Hydra - way to go on the cals today!

Dagny - I've never tasted zucchini bread, but I've always heard awesome reviews from everyone who has eaten some. Hmmm...another bread recipe to try but for next month. I definitely went overboard with my dumdum idea of making cinnarolls. Dang nabbit! :p

I know right? She's been MIA today. Hope she's ok and just tired or something. :)

So, I'm going to get nosy. You don't have to answer if you don't want to, it's cool. I was under the impression you were 19 or 20 yourself. How do you have a neice who's 16??? I thought she was your friend when I first saw the pic!

Cape Breton Chick 08-29-2009 09:26 PM

Are you kidding me...? lol and no in no way is that nosey at all I do not mind one bit.. but um.. ha was it because of my looks that you thought i was younger... or do I come across younger in my speaking? lol Ethier way.. I am 31.. 32 in November...

Cape Breton Chick 08-29-2009 09:31 PM

O and Sunni.. Thank You.. You so just made my night.. I owe t all to my mom.. and well really both grandmothers.. good genes i guess..my nanny passed when she was 84 and barely a wrinkle! lol legal adult age here is 19, and i still get carded lots! lol :dizzy:

Sunnigummi 08-29-2009 10:54 PM

I based it off your pic. :) I'm 27 myself, so pish, we're both really, really, really young ok? ;) :D Hehe. You're welcome. :)

I can't sleep. Must be the guilt from all those cinnarolls. :p

Hydra 08-30-2009 04:54 AM

Sunni - thanks for the encouragement! :encore:

Cape - I too have ibs and do much better without gluten. I have to eat gluten this week daily though because I am being tested for Celiac disease and you must have it in your system for the test to come out accurate. Here is a simple recipe I came up with that is really good. I am not much of a cook but this is simple to make:
GF Turkey Chili

1 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup 2% milk
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 8 oz. can gluten free tomato sauce
1 16 oz. can kidney beans

Sauté turkey and onion in a large skillet. Drain any oil. Add all other ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
Serves six, approximately 250 calories per serving. :chef:

I ended up having some of those blueberries and cranberries I mentioned and opted for a small gatorade instead of milk or yogurt. I did not exercise yesterday. I will stay on plan today and do some type of exercise. Have a good day everyone!

Sunnigummi 08-30-2009 08:06 AM

ARGH! I gained a lb from yesterday. I know it was my heavy (carby) dinner that's the culprit. Today I'm out for a long walk to burn any excess cals in the hope of stabilizing or losing tomorrow. Man, I never realized the effect of carbs on my system! I bet I'd lose all my extra 20 lbs quickly if I went on that low/no-carb diet, but I don't have the strength in me to avoid carbs forever. So the slow way it is.

How you doin' today ladies? :)

Cape Breton Chick 08-30-2009 08:32 AM

Morning Everyone! I hope you ended up being able to sleep well Sunni after a while at least! And I have no doubt you will kick off that gained pound in no time!
Thanks Hydra, that recipe sounds great.. will have to try it! And good luck with your tests this week..will say a prayer for you!
Hope everyone has a great day... i will be back later

Echo 08-30-2009 08:36 AM

awww thanks happening!! that put a big smile on my face!! nice to talk to all you lovely american chicks!

--------
Sunni- lol your avator cracks me up. what is that writing?

About biggest loser, i asked the question, which of the two teams is Jillians team, and if we can request to be on that team hehehe.

aww thanks Sunni for the advice. i totally agree, today is a brand new day.

past two days i've been over eating, and i've gained 1 lbs! so today is a new start. dusting myself off and starting again!!

thats why weighing myself everyday really helps me to stay on course.

well done on only eating 1 barfee Sunni! and thats so good you made low cal cinnamon rolls. i'm sure the damage isnt as bad as you think.

Cape love the new avator picture, I agree with Sunni, you look lovely! and very young!! well done on all the walking you did the day before! - wicked tickers! i love them!! :) wow well done on the low calories eating. that sounds like a lovely evening, hope you enjoyed your book.

my confession from yesterday.

breakfast - 1 toast and mince lamb curry.

no exercise as we had guests and no time :(

dinner - like 5 small samosas!!! bad me. half a roti, keema (mince lamb curry), a tablespoon or so of mixed vegetables, 1 tbs coleslaw. 1/2 nan. 1 tablespoon of cornish vanilla ice cream with gajar ka halwa (indian carrot pudding) 1 glass of fanta icy lemon.

i knew i was comfortably full. but i over ate. and then felt really uncomfortable!!!

anyways by gones! i've gained back the 1lb i lost this week. but just going to be better today!!

well done hydra!

Welcome Dagny18 :welcome: wow zuccini bread ,that sounds interesting! i reckon that's really healthy!
mmm love yoghurt and peaches, sounds yummy!! yah i've heard that temporarily spiking your calories, can kick up your metabolism. good luck!

lol Cape @ hiding hehe. you're so sweet :)

Aww thanks Sunni too for thinking of me! hehe

aww Sunni - you're in company there, like i said above - i also gained a 1lb from yesterday!!
here's to a brand new start today! its sunday!!
we can do it! i'm also going to do extra exercise to make up for it! or try to !!

last chance workout as they have on biggest loser!!

have a super day girls!!
:flow1: :flow2:

Cape Breton Chick 08-30-2009 09:40 AM

Awe.. Echo thanks! I am sure that you are gonna get rid of that 1 pound just as quick as it went on.. you work your butt off girl! O! and Sunni yes we are all young n gorgeous!!! lol
About the BL challenge.. I don't think that the teams go by trainer .. like Jillians or Bobs teams.. They are colored..Blue or Red.. I could be wrong but in everything I have read on the threads they don't name the teams by trainer.. but it is still awesome.. O and if you like Jillian, I have her 30 Day Shred workout.... it is AWESOME!! i downloaded it off the net, and I am pretty sure there are copies of it on YouTube...check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WSPk...eature=related

Sunnigummi 08-30-2009 09:47 AM

Danggit, I got it from Netflix and it's still sitting in it's sleeve. Grrr. I need to start that DVD sometime. Oh, I'm talking about Jillian's 30 Day Shred.

Echo!! Missed you, doll! Yeah, you and me both up a lb. Sucks, huh? I'm still not logging in to Fitday and recording it. I hate seeing that "up" blip. Boo. I'm hoping today's outdoor activities will bring the weight down. Yeah, barfis are my major weakness, especially the almond ones. We're on the cashew box right now, so I'm able to stay away from them. I've only eaten 3 in the past 3 days, not bad! :)

Confession so far:

Breffix - 3 figs (111 cals), 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp coca powder (125), um 1 burfi (125 cals)
Total: something. I can't add.

Ok, leaving now. Talk to you gals later on tonight!

Cape Breton Chick 08-30-2009 11:42 AM

ooooooo Ladies! I did it! I incorporated some exercise today... did 1/2 hour of Turbo Jam..Sparkpeople says I burned like 400cal. I am not sure bout that but I know I had a good sweat going and my breath was short lol ...:dancer:

DogMomNP 08-30-2009 11:55 AM

IgetfitNStrongforme 08-30-2009 01:12 PM

Sunnigummi 08-30-2009 02:31 PM

Alright, I'm back from my hike, so I can supply more info. :)

Welcome to our thread, Igetfit and Dogmom!

So we went for a 4.6 mile hike in the state park closeby and then came back and went out to lunch. I wasn't in the mood to cook anything and we were both hungry so neither of us were patient. We went to eat Thai. We got a fried rice with tofu and a thick noodle with chicken and chinese veggies. They were delicious AND *drumroll please* I ate slowly AND felt full after only eating maybe 1 cup of fried rice and 1.5 cups of the noodle thingie. I focused on chewing every bite. We also had calamari as an appy and I had only three of those. Man, those took a lot of chewing! I don't know how many calories that was, but I was very happy with my progress! So, I'll have a light dinner tonight maybe some soup and fruits to account for lunch today.

Echo - glad you like my avatar! I'm waiting to hit 160 before I change the pic. I have a few ideas for what I want it to be. :) It says "hehehehehehe" below the pic. I thought it was totally cute, so I put it up. When I get bored I look for animation gifs. :p Haven't found any worthwhile ones yet.

Cape - Excellent!! Is Turbo Jam by Billy Blanks? Holy crap, I used to do his ultimate butt & thighs (something like that) and it kicked my butt. Wow, I used to be SO sore afterward...

Alright, will check in later. :)

Echo 08-30-2009 05:06 PM

Hey Cape, Sunni, and welcome DogMomNp :welcome: nice to have you join us!!! and IgetfitNStrongforme!! way hey you found us here!! welcome to the group! good luck on the ice cream fast ;) hehe

thanks so much for the positive support Cape ! really appreciate it!!
i think you're right Cape, dont think the teams go by trainers.

aww thanks Sunni!! so sweet of you!!

cape - way to go on the exercise! you go girl! :cheer2:

way to go on the slow eating Sunni!!!! awesome :eating2: and awwwwww i love your idea of changing avators based on weight loss!! that's so cool!!!!!!!

---

my confession for today:

no breakfast/lunch (cause of fasting).

dinner: 1 small bowl of fruit salad.
vegetable rice, with mince lamb curry, salad, and coleslaw, yoghurt. Today I ate slowly and stopped eating - as soon as i SIGHED (involuntary deep breath that indicates to you , that you are full) which happened around the 15 minute mark.

i'm now having peppermint tea, as i heard that its not good to drink cold water after a meal as it solidified the oils in your food. so drinking something warm is recommended

i am so craving a chocolate brownie !! i saw it on the biggest loser (season 6 - when they have to eat as much as they can to gain control) i dont have any brownies in the house lol. so i might have a kitkat later on tonight hehe

exercise - 27 minutes of Yoga X (P90x). :yoga:

hope you girls had a good day !! :flow1:

Wait. What??? I thought the point of biggest loser was to um LOSE weight and stop overeating or something. This is what's wrong with the world today. Who shows delicious brownies on a weight loss show? WHO. That's totally sending people in the wrong direction. Le sigh.

Rest of confessions:

Snack - 3 figs, 1 banana

Dinner - 2 cups homemade wonton soup with 4 homemade wontons (I can't get over how cute they are - they're so small!) This tasted absolutely fabulous and it was not even that calorie-rich! About 300 cals total.

Dessert - Fruit, fruit and more fruit. I had a red bartlett pear (love those!) and some grapes. Might have some watermelon later.

More exercise - going to play 30 mins of tennis in an hour or so. This is what happens when you don't exercise consistently, folks. :p Actually, we really weren't tired/sore from our hike this morning, so we have some energy to get back into tennis. :)

Cape Breton Chick 08-30-2009 08:24 PM

Way to go, Cape!! Resisting homemade cake AND ice-cream? Good job!!! :carrot::carrot: (two carrots 'cause you went above and beyond your call of duty, hehe)

I'm having a big helping of watermelon tonight instead of the other fruit. I had 2 burfis (250 extra cals) so I'm going to skip on the grapes and pear. :)

I also wanted to add that I threw out the remaining cinnarolls because it was just too much of a temptation for me. Out of sight, out of mind. Should've only made half the recipe, but oh well. I only ended up throwing out 3 or 4, so not a total loss. Argh. I need to kick my butt and get going with my self-control. Portions, portions, portions!!! :D

Cape Breton Chick 08-30-2009 08:42 PM

Thanks Sunni! And way to go on all the exercise today! and huge Yay! for chucking out the remaining temptation..huge steps!! I know in that situation about even a month ago I wouldhave said awe well its only 3 or 4 I will jsut eat them get them out n then move on.. because I would have had the excuse of waste not want not... yea thank goodness I hav made this commitment to get healthy.. lol hugs girly!

DogMomNp and IgetfitNStrongforme Welcome!!!! :welcome3:

Echo, sounds like you had a great day! Way to go!

Night Night Ladies.. catch you all tomorrow!!!

Hydra 08-30-2009 10:30 PM

Way to go Ladies!!! Seems like everyone had a great Sunday! I really appreciate the encouragement as it is really helping me stay on track. In the 40s something thread I shared that I was able to squeeze into my jeans with a 40 inch waist, yay! I was unable to wear any of my jeans earlier this summer because I could not button them and I refused to go out and buy bigger sizes....I opted to start my weight less journey instead. :broc:

My day included:

coffee with 2% milk
water
one fruit and grain snack bar

water
2 slices of bread with tuna salad and onion
peas and onions with a pat of garlic butter
amish baked beans

water
large salad with reduced fat cheese and reduced fat french dressing
pear

more water, water, water

I still have a couple hundred calories left but I am not going to eat anything this late at night. I did exercise a bit and ran after and played with my granddaughter tonight! :running:

Right? I would've done the same. I'm such an anti-waster. I had to let go of that kind of thinking and just throw out the bad stuff once I was done satisfying my craving.

Yup. I've done that too. Now my 12s are kinda stretched out so they fit me and it's hard to tell if I've truly lost weight because I've worn them at my highest and squeezed every inch of my bottom half into those jeans. Once I hit 155, I'm planning on going shopping for new jeans so we'll see how the fitting goes then! ;)

thistime140 08-30-2009 11:43 PM

Sundays tend to trip me up...and since I only started Friday...thats not good! Anyway, had a scoop of icecream, didnt exercise, and ate waaaayyyy too much for Dinner. I know I cant let it defeat me...so tomorrow I will do better. AND double up on the exercise!!. maybe by NEXT friday I can report a loss!! whoohoo

I failed at no ice cream tonight but now I have nothing left and I won't be tempted because there is nothing left! :D My goal is to continue to lose the weight slowly no more then 2 pounds a week, as I have no sagging skin and I am convinced it's because I am doing it slowly. I just need to keep reminding myself it's better to do it slowly, as I really want to already be at my goal weight. I love the Biggest Loser but sometimes watching it I just want it fast, but I try to keep reminding myself slow is best, it's the turtle that won that race. I am making a life style change to treat my body like a temple. ;)

my confession for today:

no breakfast/lunch (cause of fasting).

dinner: 1 small bowl of fruit salad.
vegetable rice, with mince lamb curry, salad, and coleslaw, yoghurt.

:flow1:

Morning, all! I'm happy to report that this morning I weighed in at 162.8, which means I'm on my way back to 162. I looked at my weight graph (on Fitday) this morning and I noticed that I drop consistently for 3-4 days, reach an all-time low and then boom! I'm up again, but it comes back down and the trend continues. Weird, huh?

Cape! What were you doing up at 5 AM?? Yeah, I'm gearing up for a Thanksgiving challenge. All those pie slices motivate me! Especially the turkey. He's cute. :)

Breffix: 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder (125 cals), Instant Oatmeal (maple and brown sugar flavor with a good tsp of cinnamon added by me :)) 170 cals, 1 burfi. I was hungry for some reason.

Lunch: Leftover soup from last night. Will make fresh wontons. They're about 80 cals each. Soup is about 200 cals. If I'm still hungry, I'll have some spinach+mozzie ravioli (200 cals)

Snack: Watermelon or grapes or figs

Dinner: Hmmm...don't really know what to make.

Chit chat time: I saw a Lebanese movie last night, Caramel. It's really good! Some commented that it was very much like steel magnolias, only it addressed issues specific to the Lebanese culture. I haven't seen Steel Magnolias yet, but if it's like this movie, then I'm sure to like it! It's about 4 girlfriends who work in a beauty salon and the issues they face throughout the movie. I can't compliment it enough! Really well acted and directed. :D

Hi girls, this is going to be a quick message. i'm so annoyed at myself. yesterday i spilled a large glass of water on my keyboard so stupid!!!

i'm hoping that it will work again once it dries out completely, but right now, its only giving me a few letters. so i've borrowed my moms old laptop that is super slow, but beggars cant be choosers!!

i've ordered a connector thingy, to connect my old keyboard to my new computer, but that wont come for a few days. anyways just wanted to say hey!

some of the water spilled on my monitor too! thank god it works though. but it doesnt switch off lol which is weird. but thats okay, as long as its working. i've got it so the display automatically switches off after a few minutes, and at night will just switch it off from the plug.

anyways have a good day girls!
talk to you soon !

Thank you everyone for welcoming me so warmly. Thanks but I wish I hadn't had the ice cream and walnuts but I did.

But hey I didn't add any sugar to my cups of tea yesterday which is a small victory. :carrot: And I didn't add it again this morning nor did I use the salt today. I'm trying to only have a 1/4 tsp of idione salt a day because I eat foods that already have salt in them and today my goal is to only eat 1800 calories because I am calorie cycling.

92 2 cups of Organic Watermelon

For a second there, I thought you meant salt in your coffee and I was like "BLECH! That's ONE way to get over a sugar craving!" Then I realized what you really mean to say. :p
