Wow...that is awesome that you smashed your scale! Oh, I know how frustrating it is to eat well and then not see the scale move or move in the wrong direction. I always tell myself I will only weigh on Sundays, but I always end up weighing myself more than that...but Sundays are the only days I RECORD my weight! haha, if I don't record it then it doesn't count. Geez, you really do well on your working out, I really admire that. I wish I had the motivation to do all that walking. No wonder you've lost so much weight. You smashing your scale reminds me of something Thelma and Louise would do (the movie). Awesome.

That scale had it coming.

This is my first post. Clearly motivated by the blasted scale issue. I often want to throw it across the room. I do weigh myself everyday and the fluctuations are great, 3-5 lbs, especially around TOM. I keep track on an a spreadsheet so I can see the actual trending of the weight.

Not weighing myself for several years because you know, the scale is the enemy, I ballooned up 70 lbs.

I'm losing about a pound and a half a week, sometimes nothing for 2 or 3 weeks. But overtime my efforts are consistently rewarded. ( I have to keep reminding myself of this)

So far, 21 lbs in 4 months.

In my 20's trying to get skinny I worked out and dieted a lot. One day I was so frustrated by the scale I took the bubble bath and threw it on the floor, hard. The plastic bottle broke and it was one heck of a mess to clean up.
I feel your pain!

Thanx so much! I could of lost more if I had always been as good with the calories. But hey slow and steady wins the race.

Last month I had in 2090 minutes. As soon as I hit 1500 this month I am changing it to 2000.

If they were available, I'd get a gadget that would show every calorie I was taking in and every calorie burned. I'd know exactly when I was eating too much, the instant I put on a thousandth of a pound. Scales are way too vague. They'll often show a variation of weight of 4 pounds in one day. A pound of fat is 3500 calories if I remember correctly. That'd be 14,000 calories of fat I'd have to burn if it was correctly showing fat gain. It would take weeks to burn it off. Knowing what's happening each calorie would be much better. It would ignore water.

It would be a neat device, Greens... although, it might get a little um... tedious after awhile.

Now Jasmine31, is your poor deceased scale still reading 145?

This is a subject I've been pondering this week. How often to weigh. I know the scale makes me crazy. If I'm up or down, I'm at risk of a binge (either to celebrate or beat myself up). I'm going to go to a monthly weigh, rather than weekly and see how I do with that. If I still find myself getting crazy over the numbers, I'll remove the scale from the house and put it in the shed (the scary shed that I never go into!). I'm going to start tracking my measurements and see if that is a better way for me to track my progress.

lol You know what that made me start thinking last nite. My dh normally weighs 145, and I had him weigh when I broke it and it said 80 for him, mine said 145. That is a negative of 65 pounds for him and 65 for me. So I thought maybe I should go weigh on it this a.m. and just add 65 pounds! But I guess I threw it in the dumpster already!

Yeah check how your clothes are fitting too. I can fit in my 16 shorts that were too tight to be comfy in a few weeks ago. Now I have a pair of gloria vanderbilt shorts that also say 16 but are cut way smaller and the 3 weeks ago could NOT get in at all. So I should try those on today and see where I am at and that can be my next measurement.

Not a good week for scales.... i figured out that mine were 12 pounds lighter then i really was..... so they are in the trash now.

my TOM has messed me up too.... it is staying longer then normal, not that it is ever normal....

i just eat right and do my best to get up and move ( tom makes me sluggish) and pray for a weight loss.
