PITY ME ~I had great teachers...there were just too many girls in class! ;) |
Ouch...I had an oral surgery about 6 months ago where they cut up my gums and it wasn't pain-free but it didn't hurt as badly as what I thought it would. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through that. Congrats on your night at California Pizza Kitchen. I would have to stay away from there because I really love their Tequila Lime Chicken Pasta...it's killer but also a DIET killer!
|
Gary, I sure hope you'll be fine after all this. I certainly would be stressed out with the whole situation, especially about that part where you skipped the sandwich you had time for! (I cannot stand skipping food if I had the time for it)

OK ~ So I gained back 1/2 a pound after I had lost from the surgery  Oh well that's life....maybe it was the bone he ADDED? "How many calories in a bone graft doc?" ;) PITY PARTY ~ NO COVER CHARGE! :woohoo: |
OK ~ So yesterday I weigh in at 189! :carrot: I come home from a hard calorie burning day at work, jump on the treadmill in this heat of 95+ and hit it hard for 55 minutes and do 3.25 miles. My down fall was probably when I made an enchilada casserole with cheddar cheese and sour cream....well maybe not probably...it was! But...I didn't over eat!
So this morning I know there will not be a loss...but...a freakin .8 pound gain? What is up with that! :dizzy: Get home from work, date night at our house ~ Angie's choice ~ she wants to go to Fudruckers for burgers. Since I am behaving I order the Carribean grilled chicken salad with honey mustard ~ I eat 1/2 of it! That is all...I dribble about 1/4 of the dressing on it. Now I really am not a fruit in your salad kind of guy! This one had pineapple and mandarin oranges in it ~ I ate it and didn't complain. Where is the PITY? Well, Angie gets the 1/3 pound burger with cheddar cheese, bacon and guacomole with fries...I swear...she eats about 90% of it and asks, with guacamole smeared on her mouth, which is attached to her 124 pound body, "I can't eat it all, do you want the rest?" I look her dead in the eye and say "You disgust me!" I left her 10% of her burger and 6 fries on the plate and walked out! Ain't it a pity? |
Gary, I'm not a fruit in salad type of person either, but I've tried them once with raspberries and they were delish! I will say that leaving the 10% remainder of the burger and the remaining french fries would've been though for me :( seeing how I love burgers and how I rarely ever have them.
0.8 lbs, pshhhh thats not even a 1 lb gain yet. I ate 3 cookies this morning and 5 chocolate candies yesterday night. The scale's just waiting for me to step on so it can taunt me with some additional water weight. Although I can't be pitied for what I didn't eat, the scale pities me :D , I'd much rather be in your shoes |

Well the "SALAD" must have been the secret! Still can't believe I had a salad over a burger...but this morning I weighed in at 188.2! A solid 13 pounds down!! I also worked hard, in the heat, yesterday and did the 3,25 on the treadmill and a 2.25 mile walk with Angie and the mutts after dinner. Speaking of work....gotta go...for a half day.........later |
wow, how many weeks has it been since you started? 13 lbs gone already! 2 lbs to go for you!
I'll tell you something that really made me laugh today. I found out that my Dannon nonfat (but not "lite) Vanilla yogurt has just about the same about of sugar in my Walgreens ice cream! about 17g per half cup!!! I really should just eat regular yogurt, but on days I do not have fruit, a little flavor goes a LONG way. Heck, today I'm painting the garage so i treated myself to 1/3 cup of ice cream instead of having my usual yogurt. But since I already went to the gym this morning, I felt like I shouldn't have had it. Oh tough choices!!! I just have to be wiser. |
VEGGIE ~ It has been almost 6 weeks, 40 days today, since I started my journey of better choices.
Now you know my ice cream of choice is a Klondike bar, which have about 250 calories. I haven't had one since I started ~ wanted one every now and then though  To be honest, leaving ice cream behind for me is not a problem at all. If I never had another cookie, candy, cake or ice cream it wouldn't be a big deal ~ Now CHIPS on the other hand........I really miss :( them. If I remember correctly I have not had ANY potato chips, doritos tortilla chips twice and 2 servings of pretzel chips. I eat a yogurt almost every day, I have been eating dannon Light and Fit because it has only 60 calories...which makes my daughter mad  She tells me to eat the regular yogurt because of the splenda in light and fit. 7g of sugar in it. Yep, 2 pounds to go for my first goal...I can tell I need another goal ;) I will wait until I hit 185 and maintain! I am doing well, I didn't really know how long it would take to lose 15 pounds. Seriously between the exercise and the better food choices I am working very hard! I know the time is coming soon where I may not lose an ounce for weeks, working just as hard as I am now. But for now :woohoo::cheer2::woohoo: Have a great week-end! |
You know Gary, I never realized that maintaining the goal weight was actually just as hard as the weight loss itself sometimes. I'm really having a hard time fighting those cravings for chips, cookies and ice cream. i do MUCH better without them, but I HATE the idea of restriction! I feel like, I really SHOULD learn how to be RESPONSIBLE enough to control myself whenever I eeeven have a tiny little bite of these things. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. But dang it, it is HARD WORK!! I pity myself already !

That is why we are here VEGGIE!
PROUD to be PITIFUL! |
WOE IS ME....:(
Had a great Labor Day week-end, only worked half of Saturday. Angie and I did some shopping, some chores around the house, did a couple of 3.5 mile walks together with the retrievers and got several miles on my treadmill, about 16 miles in all. The weather was hot...in the high 80's low 90's...but we have air so it wasn't a big issue here. The family was here for a nice BBQ yesterday. I bought Hebrew National hot dogs, the 45 calorie ones and 93% fat free hamburgers. I had one hamburger on a whole wheat bun and 3 hot dogs no buns. Just a couple of chips to get the "feel" of them. My ex-wife brought some very good salads, one fruit and two potato which were awesome but I just ate a little of each. We all played Battle Of The Sexes, 16 of us in all, and did get out for some catch and shuffleboard. So why the PITY PARTY today? After all that work on the "miles" and discipline at the BBQ.... I am up a pound :( I am at 188.4 this morning....actually I was down to 186.4 on Sunday morning, I didn't post it 'cause I didn't want to brag...and besides...I thought it was a fluke anyway. So all that work and up a pound :(...I ate so darn good over the week-end too...preparing for a little extra "splurge" on Labor Day....man....don't know why the gain....do you think it could have been the..... SLIX or SLEBEN beers I had yesterday?;) DANG! WHAT A PITY! |
whoaaaaaa. slix, sleban, why not go for sleight, sline, or slen? kidding, of course..
