Man, I found it much easier to lose weight in milder weather than hot temperatures. I don't know why but I puff up like a balloon during the summer time!:( Despite the fact that I eat less in the summer time than I do in the winter, which is more likely due to the winter taking up my metabolic heat.

bargoo 08-05-2007 10:45 AM

Gary, did you remember to take your glasses off when you stepped on the scale ? And DO NOT FORGET, you MUST exhale while on the scale.

JayEll 08-05-2007 11:11 AM

Shave, too. And trim the moustache. Clip your nails. Why weigh dead stuff?

You may not have noticed VEGGIE, but I have an excuse for everything too. What a pity.

KARA, at church this morning my Pastor said, during his sermon, that it was God's fault that he was overweight ~ God made him too short for his pounds!

What if I need my glasses to "see" the scale BARGOO? Oh, I do exhale and I even try to pass as much gas as I can ~ that's gotta help right?

JAY, if you could see the top of my head, you could see that I probably lose at least 10 hairs a night! I could trim the greyout of my moustache...but then I wouldn't have one. Since I have had it for 35 years...I'll keep it, weight and all!

Welcome GLITTER ~ bring 'em, we PITY~PARTY'ers just can't have enough rice cakes to fill that GROWL!in our belly ;)

EZMONEY 08-05-2007 06:16 PM

Well all PITY PARTY'ers I have to admit I made it to ONEDERLAND this morning :carrot:

199.0 BABY!! On the scale...but before we all get too excited...here is what I had to do yesterday to reach it ~

#1 ~ 2 trips on the treadmill for a total of 6.15 miles and 97 minutes!

#2 ~ I actually "counted" out 13 :fr: tortilla chips :fr: for my "single" serving. Do people REALLY do this? All I know is by doing that ~ closing the bag ~ placing a tie on it ~ placing it in the pantry ~ putting 10 large chairs ~ 2 sofas ~ a kitchen table ~ Angie's Honda ~ and 3 pit-bulls in front of the pantry, I was able to limit myself to 1 single serving! PAT myself on the back for my :dust:

So before you all give me that "You've come a long way baby" speech...keep in mind I have already had 2 beers and I am probably NOT going to do the treadmill today ~ I think I need a day off from it.

EZMONEY 08-05-2007 06:23 PM

Almost forgot ~ Before going to church this morning I pulled my black Dockers up over my "belly hump" put on an old PINK shirt I've had since the '80's with my pink socks ~ I thought since I may be the only one to KNOW that I lost weight, I could at least dress like I was "a little light in the loafers" ;) DANG WEDGIE!

alinnell 08-05-2007 06:52 PM

Congratulations on Onederland, Gary!!!

I personally have never been outside of Onederland, although I'm awfully certain I came close with each of my pregnancies. I think that once I hit 199 (and I know I was 199), I either had a mental block against it or closed my eyes so I couldn't see the scale at the doctor's office.

No beer for me today.....no wine either (I over indulged a tad last night). The scale shows it, too. 2 weeks on Tuesday I'll have been on my new plan and I'm up half a pound. See, you can have something to pity me for, too!

Of course I can ALLISON I have seen pictures of your DH's legs ;)

JayEll 08-05-2007 07:05 PM

I, too, have been known to count out a serving of tortilla chips. In fact, should a bag of Doritos come into the house (must've snuck into the grocery cart), it immediately gets divided up into 1-serving-size zipper bags that are put inside another large zipper bag, and then into the pantry on the upper shelf where they are not so visible. Well, it works for me. ;)

Just think of all the extra calories you burn off by re-bagging JAY

IS re-baggin anything like re-gifting? I mean really, can you go to a re-bagging party and exchange like Doritos for Cheese Puffs or rice cakes for carrot sticks? Seriously who can eat the 8 billion carrot sticks you gotta buy from Costco?

Could WE ALL be "agents" for our very own 3FC RE-BAGGING parties...just like tupperware, party lite, etc....

:chin: Something to think about :chin:

JayEll 08-05-2007 08:05 PM

Shucks, EZ, you'd be there trying to swap baggies of just about anything for servings of beer...

Back in the day, way before zipper bags, we did other things with baggies... swapped, um, herbs.

Jay

;) whadda ya mean JAY "back" in the day ;)

oops...gotta watch it...dang moderators ;)

Lost squirrel 08-05-2007 11:32 PM

it has to be the light colors. The scale doesn't like light colors.
Try to wear dark ones when you walk past it.
It won't be so angry.

Thanks for the advice LOST SQUIRREL ~"Maybe I'll try "streaking" past it ;)

Well I weighed in 2 days in a row at 199 :carrot: That is a 2 pound loss...I'm not getting too excited yet though...earlier this month I did ONEDERLAND two days in a row...was good on the eating and beer and gained that pound back.

We shall see tomorrow! RIGHT NOW THE PAR-TAY IS STILL ON!
