Anyhow I ate all the tortilla chips they brought plus the salsa. :( Dh didn't want any. I figured I would be smart and let him order the big plate, chile relleno, beef taco, enchilada and I would be smart and take his taco and order a beef enchilada and that way we could split the rice and beans. So I wouldn't be TOO bad. Guess he missed the point and wound up ordering a chicken quesedilla for an appetizer for us to share!!  VERY yummy! I did take 2 pieces of quesedilla, ate the taco and wound up bringing half the enchilada home for the next day. :D |

Which brings me to my PITY PARTY POINT of the week. I hit 194 on the :goodscale which is ONE MORE POUND GONE! 2 days in a row now :carrot: I have been workin' my butt off to get it, on the treadmill and eating habits. SO...you are wondering :chin: where does the "pity" come in today....well let me tell ya ~ I love tacos ~ here we are back to Mexican food ~ so tonight Angie makes tacos. Now you have to understand she usually doesn't do this  with my 2 kids, her daughter and my nephew in the house FRYING taco shells was a chore she didn't appreciate. If we wanted tacos we usually went out, we had a lot of burritos and tostadas at home. But tonight, since my kids are married and her daughter is gone for the week, she decides to fry tortilas up in some canola oil and BBQ a flank steak for tacos ~ OMGosh were they ever delicious! :carrot: Oh yea, the "pity" part? She tells my nephew that there is 3 taco shells each for you and Uncle Gary...I'm like "WHAT?" Only 3! Yep she says, I know how you are watching what you are eating so I didn't make you your "normal" 6. And I honestly thought the 6 were for me, I didn't think knucklehead nephew was eating with us...... What a pity :( Tacos...but only 3...dang  |
hahahahah GREAT story! I LOVE tacos! I decided there is no way I am giving them up. The difference now is we usually use chicken breast, 1-2 a month we make carne asada on the grill with the beef steak. But 99% of the time we do NOT fry. We just warm the corn shells up.
I have tried countless times to figure out how those mexican places do the soft shell carne asada tacos. I can NOT do them like that for some reason. There used to be a hole in the garage place around here that did that every friday nite. I used to go there every week and order 10! haha I would have 5 one day and 5 the next. When I got better with the food I would have like 3 and that was it but anyways. They closed down and its probably a good thing. lol I need to find another awesome soft taco place. On the rare occasion we go out for mexican(not looking for soft tacos) I always get a beef enchilada and a hard beef taco. You know what else I do? I make spanish brown rice usually a few times a week. It is VERY good and actually healthy for you. :D |
I think I'm back in the pity party guys and gals-
I just had a whole cup of salsa and guacamole with corn tortillas. Not only did I add a lil cream cheese to the mixture (only about 2 whole servings), I wasn't actually hungry and somehow the whole bag of chips jumped into my mouth. Scary, huh? Pity party on everyone... Don't you just hate that feeling? When you're hungry but you're just dyin' to have some taste in your mouth? Tried to coaxed myself out of it but got suckered in, and then it led to overkill. |

:o On the other hand, I shouldn't be talking. It's like treading through **** and high waters for me to give up the extra. Not that I really need to lose weight, but its just so sad that I can't resist extras! |
EZ: you are doing so well! I know it is hard to give up the extra 3 tacos, but you have a great wife there, she is really looking out for you. There are at least 6 taco shops within .5 mile radius of my house and I really have to turn the other way when I see them. And shut my nostrils too. Frying taco shells is no fun either. Keep up the good work, dang you are working hard!

I'm having a pity party myself today. I've been SO GOOD for a week now and the scale has moved just a TAD!! SIGH! I'm just going to be patient! How often do you weigh? I was weighing everyday and I've heard we should only weigh once or twice a week. Have a great day! Lori |
:woohoo: Way to go! Great progress! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Now see, the only reason I can get into that pink cheerleader outfit is that I lost weight. ;) Keep on keepin' on, EZ! Jay |
I know it's a little late but if party invitations are still going around I'd love to join!
I was definitely pitying myself yesterday after giving in to the ultimate temptation of pizza and ice cream ;_; I've been trying so hard to stay on track but things have been so messed up emotionally I'm totally going back to using food as a comfort. So I decided to turn to 3FC for some encouragement before I began spiraling down.. before I ate any leftover pizza... and come across 'Pity Party'. I read through the entire thread this morning, and boy did it give me the smile back that's been missing for quite a while :) I can stick my tongue out at that pizza now and not think about it! (at least for today :D) Gary--(i know your name cuz I've read it so many times in the posts-- I'm Bre btw! kind of new to the forums :) ) you are so very funny and good-hearted about your weight loss ups n' downs, and it truly made me happy to read through everyone's comments, supports, additional laughs, etc. So, thanks to everyone already at the pity party for giving me the encouragement boost I need to brush off yesterday and just look forward to today and the rest of the week! |
WTG Gary! That's awesome. :celebrate:

Spanish Rice: 1 lb brown rice 1 green bell pepper, chopped a few cloves of garlic, chopped 1 onion, chopped 1 tbs olive oil 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce 2 15 oz cans of water So basically pour oil in pan, add rice and vegis, saute it a bit, then add tomato sauce and water, any seasonings you may like, sometimes I will throw in a 17 blend salt free seasoning. Cover with lid, medium heat for about 40 minutes. Check rice. It should be done soon! |
oh gary, you are wasting away while I eat another tortilla chip *sigh*
|
 Pass them over here!
