Rutabaga. That's pretty much the only one any more - I've even developed a grudging tolerance for turnips & radishes, although they aren't things I CHOOSE to eat. But I HATE rutabaga!
Green beans. I dislike green beans. My mother in law insists on making a green bean stew when she visits here. Maybe if they were prepared differently it would be tolerable, but I do not really want to find out.
I made a cauliflower soup by simmering chopped c-flwer in broth with onion and garlic seasoned with a bit of dry mustard and poulty seasoning, mashed with the potato masher and smoothed out with a bit of fat free 1/2 & 1/2. Asked my teen who has decided he is going to eat healthy (a fruit eater but no veg other than salad stuff) to taste- he thought it was clam chowder and said it was good! Of course he made a scene when I told him the truth but it makes me see that alot of this or most of this is MENTAL!!!
I can't stand green/string beans. I thought I'd gotten over hating them since the last time I ate them [jr. high], but the other night, my mom had some for dinner and I about threw up.
Try the green beans roasted till almost crispy in the oven. Toss with a little oil (or spray) along with seasoning and put in 425 degree oven. Like lots of other veggies they taste totally different this way- no smell, and a fun texture.
my list of veggie hates would be LONG here is a few
carrots
celery
corn
beets
There are still a lot veggies I have never tried, up until a couple years ago I only ate were tomatoes, boiled cabbage, greens boiled till they were shriveled (still like them this way), white potatoes, broccoli only with cheese fried squash and fried green tomatoes. Now I like to put BJ's California mixed veggies(cauliflower, broccoli, squash, zucchini and carrots-i dont eat the carrrots) on pan, spray with Pam, and season then broil till the the veggies start to darken.
