Plus we could hook up a dynamo and create enough electricity to have a hot shower afterwards - not only fit but environmentally friendly...and dizzy!

I'm back - it turned out better than expected. There were loads of us so I didn't have to suffer 'Lizzie's' company too much. (She wears the same stuff in the summer but without the waxed jacket and gillet - she still had the wellies on though!) After rushing around throwing balls and frizbees on the beach we found a nice place selling spit roast chicken so I had some of that and some plain salad for my lunch while I watched the rest of them tucking in to fish & chips & mushy peas. All the dogs had a sausage - except 'Lizzie's', who said her dog (Star) doesn't like that kind of muck. Poor Star, she was dribbling so I sneaked her a piece of Fred & George's.

Veggie, the job is part time working for the local Area Regeneration partnership people. (Where I live is a former mining village with a high unemployment rate and the surrounding area also suffers badly with rural poverty.) I don't know a huge amount about it yet - all she said was that its for a minimum of 10 hours a week and I can fit the hours in when its convenient for me and because of my computer I can do some of it at home if I want.

I am beginning to think they've got the wrong idea about me, though, apparently the woman who's in charge of the 5-a-day nutrition co-ordination in this area is interested in using my nutritional 'skills'. (What nutritional skills????? My background is Law!) Me and my big mouth! I can vaguely remember rattling on about it not NECESSARILY being expensive to eat a healthy diet, especially if people were to stop buying junk food and takeaways and sub it with fruit and veg and pulses - but I don't much like the idea of giving talks about it so I hope they haven't got that in mind.

Anyway - I've got to be there at 11am and after a 'little chat' they are taking me out to lunch

I've never understood why gyms don't do something about using the power generated by the people using the cardio equipment - maybe to use it to heat the swimming pool.

I find fruit costs loads especially when it is near to the wine in the supermarket...

Go Kylie!!! I just have a picture of a hamster running alongside you now though

I had a really good workout this morning, I got up early and ran 5.67 miles then had a 30 minute swim. Tomorrow is an "easy" 3 miler, I think I might run from here rather than the gym so I don't need to cart my gym stuff to Spanish after work for a change.

Good luck with the job Sarah.

I took a much needed day off yesterday - but I did have a good walk round London - I found Tiffany's and we stumbled across a private show at the jewellers next door - there must've been celebs since there were paparazzi outside, but I didn't see anyone famous enough for me to recognise!

Tonight is double - I'm still a little sleepy!

Oh I ordered new running shoes half a size bigger, so that I can start doing morning runs. That'll be next week!

We're off to Nice on Saturday for 5 days, so won't be back till Weds night, conveniently I only miss my teaching class and 1 training class! I am going to take my new trainers so that I can take some little runs along the beach!

Oh Sarah Ann I do feel a fool! Whe you said Lizzie I thought you meant Queen Elizabeth II - especially when you mentioned about not being invited in for a cuppa - which is why my cheeky reply was perhaps she is out dong her job!!

Your post just now saying how 'Lizzie' was dressed I still thoght it was QE2 but then looked back and realised it was snooty wife you meant!

That is two stupid thing sI have done this week. I just sent an email back to someone and it was about a leaving do and copied the leaver in on it. I was replying about something else!!!! Hide me someone!

peacock - we were talking about Lizzie as in QEII when kylie was annoyed that she hadn't been invited to tea... Then when Sarah described this woman, I was comparing her to "Lizzie" too! So not to worry chick!

It's a conspiracy!! You are all trying to drive me mad!!!

Well, just for that, this lottery winner will not share her winnings with any of you!

Anyway I have just spent nearly £5 of the £7.50 Euro lottery winnings on my lunch so there!!!

It won't change my life, that is for sure!!!

I've just had a lovely lunch courtesy of my new employers. They took me to a very cute pub next to a pretty river (or could have been a canal) where we sat outside and I had a diet coke and a large salad with lots of prawns and a couple of Jersey Royal spuds. The homemade garlic and lime mayo dressing came up in a separate pot so after a little taste I didn't bother with it. Yum! Dessert was mixed berries which was mainly strawberries.

Apart from that the whole thing went well, I'm going to start off with doing 1 to 4 on Tuesdays and Fridays and they've roped me in with some funding presentations and the funding 'surgeries' which occasionally take place in the evenings which introduce groups in the local community who need grants or repayable funding to individuals, societies, banks or companies who have money available).

I'm off to the gym with my Chav neighbour - she was chatting up DH (as usual) and asked him if she could come along to the gym next time he goes because she's depressed and thinks working out will help. He invited her along this evening (not mentioning that I was going) - then decided to stay home and watch the footie - leaving me on my own with her.

Oh dear...

Should you suggest a competition?? See who can walk the longest? I'm sure she won't be coming again once she sees how fit you are!
