Remember remember umm it's November chat chat chat
:p
Soon these fireworks will end hopefully. Last night I watched Most Haunted that programme is so stupid...that's why I watched it for 3 hours. Paul O'Grady was on, they (ahem) contacted (hmm) a dead person he knew on a ouija board (or maybe not). He (Paul) was taunting the ghost of Jack the ripper that was funny. ;) I watch such rubbish. |
Veggie! That's truly rubbish TV! ;) Sounds entertaining though!
Peacock, how on EARTH did you resist a Lindt D'Or? They are my ULTIMATE FAVOURITE! I have a box in most of the time and have one a day as my chocolate fix! DF likes the white ones in the mixed box! I think I might have to buy a HUGE box of them for christmas (or his birthday which is Friday :chin: ). I've just had a mince pie! :faint: In November :faint: :tantrum: Can't it wait till CHRISTMAS? obviously not! :D |
My sister (target member) ;) has been eating mince pies for months, boxes of them or so I've heard!
|
Hi Peacock, in response to question on last thread that veggie has closed the door on and thrown away the key, I went shopping all over the place, Gap, Principles, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins and Evans (boo hiss) oh and Marks and Spencers.
Everyone has noticed my weight loss precisely because all my clothes are falling off!!!!! I look much better now in well fitting clothes, even wearing a skirt today!!!! |
"I watched Most Haunted " :yikes: :nono:
I'm sorry veggie but that slimfast stuff must have affected your brain, I think you should give it up before you find yourself watching something even more rubbishy like....um, er,....um....no sorry I can't think of anything worse. :?: And to add insult to injury they took Greys Anatomy off for that :censored: :tantrum: Fabulous avatar by the way veggie, it really suits you. :hat: |
WTG Kylie - it's great when people finally start to notice! No-one seems to have noticed yet where I'm concerned, but I'm hoping they do soon - otherwise I may have to have a few :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: !
Janey |
It must be so great to go shopping elsewhere instead of Evans... I hate that place!
|
I hate Evans too, I think they deliberately make stuff that tells the world where it came from (that 'nowhere else sells clothes to fit me' feeling). I prefer H&M BiB (Big is Beautiful) and Asda. I'd love more expensive clothes but just can't justify it while I'm this big as I'm on a bit of a budget.
|
I find H & M's sizes really frustrating. I am still around a size 24 in H & M and am an 18 - 20 everywhere else. But they do have some nice clothes. I have a great orange kaftan that looks smart for work, but also works thrown over a swimsuit. I lived in the thing in Turkey. They don't have a lot this winter in a plus size it has to be said. I love ASDA too.
The problem with Evans is they do have nice things, but not that great a range and fat chicks have the same taste by and large, so you end up in the "fat girls uniform". I do love Evans jeans, I looked everywhere for a pair of jeans and ended up back in Evans, for a pair of embroidered denims that look lovely. One of my favourite size 26 items I can't bear to part with is a pair of embroidered denims in various shades of pink that used to get commented on whenever I wore them. They were from Ann Harvey. I am really lucky, I have had a lot of comments, even from men!!! And have had a lot of encouragement. My weight loss has been a huge topic of conversation at work! |
My best jeans have been from Sainsburys - they're stretchy but not tight and look much more expensive than they really are (£12). I've got a great pair of Gap jeans size 18 that I adore but unfortunately they don't adore me at the moment and don't fit at all!
It's nice to have a 'signature' outfit that you feel great in - mine is a fitted red scoop neck jumper with jeans and boots. I'm waiting for the weather to be cool enough for me to wear it again now! Throwing a question out to the rest of you - what is your signature outfit and how does it make you feel? |
Kyk I have the same problem with H&M, I'm about 2 sizes bigger in there than I am in :sssh: topshop!
Thbecer I don't really have a signature outfit but I tend to just slob around in jeans. If we're going out anywhere nice, like this weekend I might dig out a dress or something and do my hair nice, but otherwise, it's comfort comfort comfort for me! Well kickboxing lesson last night was really great, apart from the fact that this one guy (who is a certified :censored: and a black belt) kept really hurting me! I went to bed with a stiff jaw, bashed boob (oh yes, he knows how to adapt his fighting style for women!) and bruised back after being thrown on the floor (which is just plain dirty as there were NO MATS!). I am furious  He's really dangerous. He's the only guy who hurts me and there are plenty of other black belts I fight with, but he goes too far. I'm going to ring the instructor today and tell on him, ner ner ne-ner ner! Today I'm licking my wounds (literally) oh and I said I'd start jogging! :faint: I'll probably really enjoy it when I get started! DF and I are doing couch to 5k. I've told him to bully me into doing it! The programe looks fairly easy for this week! Which is good! :D |
hey frus, I was on holidays in sunny Turkey and never got to find out what happened with your grading!!!!
|
I used to moan about the Evans range too, until they shut down :( Here in smallsville that was the only place to buy a decent pair of big knickers (along with everything else). Now i've got to get them off the internet, so no shopping for me. :D No clothes either . Ugh what a thought. :o
|
Kyk I got my orange belt, but with a 3 rather than a 1, so that's equivalent of a C rather than an A. I'm happy though cos the instructor wants to make me a black belt! :D I'm now fast-tracking, so I can do gradings when I'm ready for them.
|
I haven't bought any clothes all year! Apart from when the dog was sick on me in the car  :o :p That was fun.
|
woooooooooooooooo-hoooooooo!!!!
i weighed myself yesterday and i have lost 7lbs this week!!!!!i am so chuffed!!!! |
Excellent!! Way to go!
That's a nice boost toward your mini goal :) |
Wow that's amazing! You truly rock!
I've just done my running intervals in my living room. I'm quite astounded! I would've gone out with DF except he's at some meeting type thing and it's dark and wet outside and he said not to go out by myself (bless him!), so I decided that I'd start in the living room! I figure if I don't start today I never will! I'm going crackers! :dizzy: Well I managed to drop that dodgy black belt in it today! I rang my instructor and he went off on how if I was going to be an instructor then I'd have to deal with people like that... Without me getting a chance to tell him why I was pissed off with black belt guy... I got there in the end and Lee (instructor) was fair mad. He didn't realise that he'd "swept" me on the floor! The dodgy black belt deserves to be banned! I'd ban him if I were in charge! Food has been great so far. I went to the shop to buy crips and chocolate :dz: and came back with a tiny Milkybar and a chicken burger (!). It was one of those microwave chicken burgers, but a chicken burger none the less! It was very processed, but still... So anyways I had that for my afternoon snack and I still have a potato with cottage cheese to eat... and 100 cals spare for something else I might fancy before the night is out! Knowing my luck there's be nothing in the house... I might have hot chocolate since it's minging outside! :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: |
7lbs? :faint: WOW! What are you doing lil to lose all that? :nose: Well Done :cp:
I'm "trying" to give up the clothes buying habit :dunno: :halfempty i've far to many in sizes 10, 12 + 14  at least i'll have plenty to shrink into ;) "when" I do :kickcan: |
Well done Ms Disney :carrot:
I am SICK of all this rain everything I took out yesterday got drenched. I am was drying out money, clothes, shoes, debit card! |
Well done Ms Disney....
Is there only me who loves Winter! |
I kinda like winter, I do like wearing boots and wrapping up in layers, and soup, stews and things like that. So there are good things about winter. But I don't like trying to lose weight in winter because I am like a big bear, I just want to hibernate!
I'm really tired today and just want to curl up and sleep. Not been to gym since Monday, most unlike me, am going to go tonight. But I have been scrubbing my white carpet on my hands and needs for 2 hours every day, so am sure that counts as exercise!!!! I'm still at work, 4 minutes til home time!!!!!!! |
I'm too short for my weight
Has anyone else visited "my virtual model"? I created a mini me about a year ago,it was meant to be inspirational :?: ( you know, the before and after type thing )
Anyway, I visited the site for the first time in ages and it's all changed you have to click on one of the ads to create a model. So i filled in the form with my generous statistics ;) and then this message appeared saying you can't have that height with that weight( and I thought why not ,I bloody do) :sumo: , so i tried taking 25lbs off the weight and it said the same thing again  so i took another 15 off and guess what it said......."Bugger off fatty there is nothing for you here".No it didn't. (but it may as well have done) I gave up in disgust after that.:snooty: P.S Are you allowed to use mild expletives in posts? or just :censored: |
I made a virtual model about two months ago, and it let me be short and fat, like I am!!!! But my virtual model looked a lot nicer than I do, she didn't have any cellulite and she wore a bikini and looked fabulous!!!
I'm really tired and ready for my bed, Man Of The House (MOTH) is watching Spooks, very loudly. I am trying to convince him to take me to London in February, coz I have never been. It appears to be cheaper to fly from Manchester than to get the train!!! Stew-pid!!!! I found flights and hotel for £200 for two nights, the return train fare costs that!!! |
London is not as good as Manchester obviously as it is in the south  but it's ok you'll have a good time. ;) You should take him then he has no choice. :D
|
 You should def. come to London! I hate that the plane fares are cheaper than the train, it's not cheaper on the environment! I have a pet hate about internal flights on our tiny island! Plus by the time you get to Stanstead, or Heathrow you'll still have at least another hour's travel on top of the flight to get into London. When you get into Euston you're almost there!
I went running again yesterday! Kickboxing was cancelled. So MOTH and I went out wogging to Tesco to buy ingredients for his birthday cookies (he's taking them for people at work). Was up till 10pm baking oatmeal and raisin cookies. Which I LOVE! *dribble* He was tired so we only did half our allotted 20 minute routine, but I was really getting into anyway! I will force him out again tomorrow! I am determined to like running! :tantrum: |
Train prices are rubbish I hate them, but not as much as I hated the few times I did here (Cumbria) to London by coach. 6.30 am to 2.30 pm. :fr: Painful.
|
I am planning a trip to London next April, I need to book some accommodation asap.... pref get it a bit cheaper now rather than later! I think I am flying down so much cheaper but not decided on that yet!
Have a good weekend everyone! |
I looked on www.expedia.com for my qutoes, you can get some good packages. I really want to go to London, coz I have never been, and I feel a bit silly that I haven't done all the touristy things!!!
I am trying to tidy up our house and get rid of some of the clutter. I bought a heap of little boxes today and things are starting to look a bit better. I love crafts and stuff and have heaps of little bits, but now I exercise I have no time for craft, it's a pain. I would like to give up work!!!! But then I would have no money for all the nice new clothes I want!!!! Life is so unfair!!!! By the way it's 3.45 pm here, and it's dark outside!!!!!!!! |
Hi Kykaree
Try looking on Holiday Inn website for one-off internet only deals - I booked a hotel in London in January for only £45 including breakfast! Also Superbreak are doing pretty good deals for the early part of the year so worth checking them out too. Mini-breaks and suchlike are my pet interest - boyfriend is sick to death of me! |
I'm staying at holiday inn when I go see Rufus Wainwright next month. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
|
Kylie, if you book early enough, you may be able to get a cheap advance saver return to London by train - from Norwich two passengers can have a return journey for around £19 if you go after a certain time - just a thought if you don't really want the hassle of flying. I would've thought other large cities would do a similar deal.
If you DO fly, don't forget your passport - they won't let you on the plane without it, even for an internal flight. I almost forgot mine the first time I flew to Glasgow - remembered it at the very last second before the taxi arrived! Janey :carrot: |
Thanks for the tip, would never have taken my passport for an internal flight. I have mucked about with the train times, but can't get one of those mysterious cheap train deals. That's what we would rather do than fly, coz both airports are in stupid places!!!
I'm cold and wet through, even though I have changed, we got drenched at our local community bonfire!!! It was good fun though!!! I love bonfire night, but I do feel sorry for all the frightened animals. I hate kids letting them off, they were lighting them in front of moving cars on my street last night!!!! |
I'm back
Travelled overnight (3am flight :dizzy: ), got back and then went to buy lots of healthy stuff at Tesco to make up for the lots of not so healthy stuff that I ate all week. Well, I also bought a bottle of wine, but I'm still in holiday mode  I even went shopping in Spain, I ended up raiding Zara (despite the fact I could have done it at home, if I hadn't been sulking about the fact that their sizes seem small compared to other shops). But anyway, it was raining so I dived into the shop and saw the most gorgeous long purple skirt that brilliantly matches the purple jacket I bought when I was shopping with Kylie. In fact I travelled back in an entire outfit made up from things I didn't have when I left the house last weekend :D Must shop stopping soon. I think I'm going to curl up with wine, newspaper and sky+ this afternoon. I was considering going for a swim, but wine sounds far more tempting, despite the fact I won't be able to drive to the gym afterwards  |
YP you're so naughty! Curling up on the sofa is just what I intend to do too! Even though I am scheduled for weights and a possible run! I think I'll just run tomorrow, but I must do my weights sometime today!
Went out for dinner yesterday - had a salad :D :faint: I felt much better than when I had pasta on Friday! Then I went a bit bonkers with stem ginger cookies! :o But what the hey, you only live once right!? |
Welcome back YP are you drunk yet? Wine in the afternoon! I'm shocked. :p
|
Not drunk. Yet. I've only had one little glass so far, then I fell asleep on the sofa for an hour or so!
It is very nice though. And it will be negated by the salad I ate for lunch, obviously ;) |
I've been out to fireworks again tonight, the pub over the road was doing it in the carpark, no bonfire though! Black peas, meat and potato hotpot with red cabbage and of course parkin, all courtesy of the management, I love being a Northerner!!!! ;)
And I have been tidying up all day, you can see a bit of floor in the box room, I have yet another bag of fat clothes for the charity shop!!!! |
You sound more northern than me Kykaree.
|
Potentially interesting development, I'm considering a career change (it's so depressing going back to work ;) )
Only problem is, it would involve a BIG pay cut, but it would be far more rewarding. Hmm, decisions decisions. I guess I could apply and see what happens... |
