You can't say something like that and not give d.e.t.a.i.l.s young thin lady!!!!! What's the change??? Marathon runner? Fitness instructor? Model? Tell tell tell!!!!
I am so tired, not been to gym today, but I think two hours cleaning in the box room counts for something!!! I can see more floor, it might turn into a half decent hobby room yet!!!! |
OK, as Kylie knows, more details - I've seen a lecturing job in European law (which is what my masters degree is in), and I'm seriously considering applying. Doesn't mean I'll get it though...
|
Ooooh fancy! That's all I can say, as just the words 'lecturing job in European law' makes me feel stupid. :p
|
I told Col that YP is the smartest friend I've ever had, she's scary!!!!!! And skinny!!! And pretty!!! Why do I like you YP?????? :) ;)
|
:cp: Cool YP! Go for it! If you're meant to have it, they'll give you the job! :D You can always freelance at what you do now can't you??
I'm feeling ok today, no icky feelings to speak of! Hooray! I got a new helmet yesterday, it's got Ogri on it, it's great! It's got a little mask thing to stop your visor steaming up and a little flappy thing to stop the wind going down your neck! :hyper: I'm very happy with it! I had a really great ride this morning! Got kickboxing tonight, so that will be groovy! Really looking forward to it :D Did some weights last night even though I was feeling a bit lame, so I can still do stuff, I just have to bully myself into doing it! |
I could continue soliciting I guess, but I'd need insurance which is expensive.
I've identified two main advantages of the job - 35 days holiday a year and gym membership for £45 per year! I pay £40 per month at the moment :faint: And job satisfaction, of course ;) The application form is half written, and I've not got too much to lose I guess. If I get it then I'm clearly right for it, I'll trust their judgement. |
You'll be far too busy writing articles for journals to even consider soliciting, as you work towards your PhD and professorship!!!!!
I am pleased to report that whilst I have given up the gym for the last two weeks, almost, to tidy up our house ready for our inspection, that the box room is looking fab, floor has been sighted, and I might even have it all done by January. My plan is to have all my craft stuff set up, but enough room to store an exercise ball and a trampoline for those days that the gym is just not going to happen. I am really tired today though, and I'm coming down with a cold and no one cares :( Least of all MOTH who hasn't done anything to help with preparing for the visit of the landlords, and is not in my good books. Slug soup for dinner tonight methinks!!!!! |
Good morning people.... I have my appointment this morning at the hospital for my retinal eye screening! for the diabeties... great stuff!
|
Is it wrong that the word soliciting makes me laugh?
Have a nice time at the hospital Alison! ;) |
I am back, it was fine, I was home within 30 minutes of getting there... it was so quick!
Veggie I love the new siggy it's great! :) |
Poor kyk! I hope you're feeling better!
I've been in the car all day, we've been to a place near Stoke On Trent. I was really expecting to come home and be all revved up for a jog but I just don't want to any more! Plus it's dark out and MOTH is going to be home late so I don't want to go out on my own. I have to pack for Japan tonight. Get the flight socks out! I have been subjected to Wimpy's for lunch as well. I'm not impressed! |

(to this day I still chuckle at the time my mate went to look round a house, and landlady really did interpret solicitor as someone who solicits for certain illicit pleasures rather than being a lawyer). Bought a new suit today in Next which I'm very pleased with - it will finally stop me wearing my old size 18 one. And I got an email from the senior partner (former president of the Law Society no less) praising some work I did for him :carrot: :carrot: Still running, eating good stuff etc, it gets a bit boring to repeat sometimes but better than getting depressed because I messed up. |
Oh good I thought it was just me. :p
|
Soliciting in the other way would probably be more lucrative!!!
We've not heard from the landlord, so hopefully the inspection went well. Colin dragged me to the switch on of the Christmas lights in Manchester. Leigh Fromblue was there, oh joy and excitement. Embarassingly I had a major panic attack, not had one for years, just too many scary people there, and loud noises. I burst into tears! Or maybe it was Leigh Fromblue's singing that did it!!!! |
I did wonder who 'Leigh Fromblue' was for a minute I nearly googled the name! :lol:It probably was his singing.
I rejoined fat club! Again! I only joined about 6 weeks ago but couldn't go for 4 and have just sold my last joining pack on ebay for £21. :p |
 Veggie :nono: why did you sell your pack?? But :cp: that you've joined again! Where's CAT GONE?
I am all tired out from kickboxing. I've just come home and had a protein shake, and now I need to pack. Ugh! Well at least I'm not packing much, since I plan on spending lots of money :D |
Leeds lights were switched on tonight too, we watched the fireworks from the window in the middle of Spanish.
I got my race pack through today for the Abbey Dash so its definitely on. Eek! But my medium t-shirt fits me :D |
I sold my pack as it is £10 to join and you can get £21 for them on ebay  and I get all my holidays/free weeks back rejoining. :D
|
Col and I have this sort of in joke about the infamous Fromblue family, because they are never referred to by their surnames, just Leigh from Blue, Simon from Blue, Duncan from Blue (no one ever talks about t'other one so I don't know his name!!!)
Sort of like the evil version of the Von Trapp's! Medium t-shirt???? Scary. I have to do the horrible charity t-shirt thing soon, I am working for Children in Need answering the phone and taking pledges, so if you ring you might end up talking to me!!!!!! Well, possibly not as there are 150 in our office alone doing it. Veggie, you're not just a pretty face!!!! Frus, enjoy Japan and do some shopping for me!!!! I love Japanese stuff!!! |
I don't know it I mentioned it but another 3lb off this week, can't remember if I posted it here or not!
Morning everyone, hope you all have a good weekend! |
I am down to my lowest weight ever! Then I'm going to have a holiday! I'm going to be ultra good! I promise! I'm going to spend lots of time shopping, and lots of time walking round, and I even got my kickboxing instructor to do a workout routine for me to do every day! :D I can do it I can do it! I'm not going to weigh in when I get back from hols, I'll just keep back on track and see what happens next month! :D
:crossed: |
Anthony Fromblue :o  he goes out with someone from emmerdale I'm so knowledgeable. :tape:
Alison well done :D 2frus is that 7 pounds? I think that was my lowest weight   but seriously you rock etc. :carrot: I don't use words like 'you rock' off the net I'm just trying to sound young... :p and failing. |
Veggie at this rate, you could be mistaken for a 13 year old!!!!!
I've lost my Turkey weight!!!! Now I have to get on and lose something for New Years Eve. Sigh......... |
I'll have you know Heat is aimed at 13 - 39 so it is not sad at all that I read it. :dz: :bb: :chin: :sssh:
|
I'm here Frus  just in time to wave you off  hope you have a great holiday in Japan :beach: we will miss you so much :( I can't wait to hear all about it :D congrats on reaching your all time lowest weight too :bravo:
Its ppp-persistently raining here :rain: :( i'm going chrissie shopping to buy my lovely little grandaughter a birthday and chrissie present..can't believe she is 3 next month :yikes: where did the time go ? :dunno: i've seen a talking..singing Furby advertised that I want to look at and we get 20% discount at our store for the next three days so i'll see what they have too ;) I hate not being there to see her little face when she opens her presents  thats the best part ;) Right i'm off to get ready ;) have a great weekend everyone  |
I've just raided Ikea for some house stuff. Why can you never leave that place without buying about 5x the amount of stuff you intended, none of which has any practical purpose.
Mind you, I was lucky to get there at all, at about 5.15 I got cornered by the mad Scottish woman at work going on and on about my weight loss and trying to get me to tell her exactly what to do for her to lose half a stone. It wouldn't be so bad, but she's 8 stone 8 :faint: I managed to escape shortly before 6. |
8 stone people are so annoying. My 9 stone sister was annoyed she'd gained 2 pounds in the 4 weeks she hadn't been to fat club. :p
|
I had a weird out of body experience today. As part of the cleaning of the box room I took out two bags of fat clothes and donated them to the charity shop. Well the charity shop now looks like my wardrobe. And all these people were looking at the clothes admirably, remarking how there are never any size 26's in the shop!!! It was very odd!!!!
Some of my favourite clothes have gone, and I miss them!!!!! I know i'll have new favourites, but it still seems bizarre!!! |
I've been all domesticated today, tarting up the house. I even unpacked two boxes that have been under the stairs since I moved in over 2 years ago!
The funny thing was that I found my diary from when I was 15 in one of them, and there wasn't a single mention of me being fat in it. I know that I was, but I seem to have been entirely unconcerned about it. I thought that it had bothered me a little more than it actually did. |
LOL Kyk  so when I visit Ramsbottom will half the women in the village be wearing your old gear? that would be so funny to pass someone in the street wearing your old blouse   speaking of weird  I dreamt I won the lottery! :cloud9: and all of my husbands friends were celebrating and saying what they were going to spend the money on :dunno: I hope it does'nt mean that i'm going to lose my "shirt"
|
I'm in a good mood today :D
I went shopping for new tracksuit bottoms and found some that were reduced by quite a bit in the Allsports closing down sale. They had them in various sizes, XL were labelled as 16-18 and L were labelled as 14-16 so I decided to try some M on. Except when I picked them up they weren't the 12-14 I was hoping for, but actually said 10-12 on them. I put them down and tried the L, and as I expected they were a bit on the big side. Deep breath taken, I scurried out of the changing rooms and picked up the M again. And they fit perfectly! :faint: Granted there is a degree of stretchiness in them, and they're almost certainly closer to a 12 than a 10, but still, they fit! Also I've lost the weight I put on while I was on holiday. I knew that last weeks Monday morning weigh in of 188 was mainly water, and now I'm back down to 180 I can file it in my dossier of evidence about "why scales always lie" ;) |
Well I've had a good day, my friend Pete at work made me walk at lunch time! He needs the exercise too, he even made me walk up the three flights of stairs to my office. Which I am going to try and keep up.
Whilst we were walking we had some deep and meaningful talks. He has recently split up from his wife who is an alcoholic. He was talking yesterday about how his kids have been affected by this. Today I mentioned I grew up in a family where alcohol use was a big issue. Thinking about it tonight, I have always been really aware of my tendency to drink. I don't drink in the house, except at Christmas, I don't drink much at social occasions and can shift effortlessly from the wine to the soft drink, and only get drunk when I really feel like it, once a year maybe. But a light went off in my head today. All I've done is replace alcohol with food. I eat when I'm stressed, when I 'm down, to celebrate, commiserate........etc. I have always avoided the term compulsive overeater because those times don't happen very often and I didn't feel I really fit into that category - and doesn't that just sound like an alcoholic in denial???? I'm not one of these, all our problems go back to our parents, and I'm fat because they made me fat. I'm fat because I made me fat, no one else prepared the meals, ordered the fattiest dessert on the menu, sat in my room at university with six assignments to do and medicated the stress with a packet of chocolate biscuits. I did that. I have the power to change this behaviour forever, not just for the last 10 months, but for life. And it was such a fabulous feeling when I realised this today, I just had to share!!! |
I really want to go to NYC in 2006 so my weight loss has to succeed for me to go! :carrot:
Hope we're all okay! :) |
Kyk - good for you for having such an insight  ! I love it when something just clicks into place in your head, and a lightbulb suddenly goes off - it somehow makes this journey worthwhile.
I agree that as adults we have to take responsibility for ourselves, and harping back to childhood and rehashing old grievances and unhappiness doesn't really solve anything - but it IS useful to discover the catalysts for your current behaviour patterns - and it's fun to blame your parents for everything sometimes :p ! All the best - and thanks for sharing! Janey  |
Just off to fat club  I haven't been that good............................
But I haven't been that bad I hope. |
Good luck Veggie!!! :carrot: :cp:
Janey :) |
Thanks Janey. :)
My 3.5 loss was good as I haven't been really thinking about diets or anything. I'm trying not to obsess over it all. ;) |
3.5lb is great!
I'm desperately trying to find something to wear for the work Christmas party (two weeks tonight), and it's doing my head in. I didn't realise how much I appreciated only having a couple of choices and not having to actually make decsions! |
Lets dress YP! What shops should we be looking in?
Urgh my fat club is so rough :p someone threw a stone or something through the window just before we arrived! The police came. She was thin the policewoman, couldn't they at least of sent a fat one. ;) |
Anywhere but Evans!
Seriously, I've decided on reflection that I don't want a dress, because I'll wear it once and not get any value out of it. Although I did find a lovely dress yesterday... At the moment I'm looking at getting some really nice jeans and a top - the theme is wild west so denim should be OK, and I'll get more wear out of it long term. Or I could try to at least look in my wardrobe to find something to base it on - if anyone can think of a good top to go with a black puff ball skirt it would help! |
