Hi Helen - thanks for the info - I'm just a bit frustrated that on 26 points per day I'm losing just 1lb BUT its a lb in the right direction. Yesterday I had 24 points just to give me a boost for tonights official weigh in at WW.

You're so lucky getting the house back to yourself, I've had a child at home with me constantly since May 1995!! I have been counting down for a whole year to September 4th (the date she Sprog #2 was due to start nursery) but she didn't get the go-ahead yesterday from the hospital, so she still can't go. To top it all off, not only was yesterday awful but today started bad too:- Dave was blocking my car on the drive with his car and he couldn't find his keys so we were 30 mins late for school, Sprog #2 was car sick all over the car for the 2nd day running and Sprog #1 only just caught the school bus to go on a school trip - you should have seen the look on her face - if looks could kill...
I hope this afternoon gets better.

Hi Melissa

Our leader was talking about hitting a plateau today and going back to doing the "powerstart" for a week. I wonder if thats worth you trying? Mind you with the stress you are going through at the moment I think you are doing very well sticking to your points at all!

Now I've got the house to myself for a few hours a week I have to decide if I want to give it all up again and have another baby. :?:

BritinNJ 09-11-2002 05:32 PM

Poor Delaney,
Has your daughhter always been car sick? I have often been told by people who get travel sick that they sit on a newspaper and then they don't get sick....worth a try?
Hope you are gettting all sorted with the inpatago (sp)?
I do WW points and my leader says to everyone that you MUST have your minimum ammount of points daily otherwise your metabolism slows back down again, so you are actually cheating your body of what you need. There were a few women one week who admitted to not getting to their minimum points and had either gained or stayed the same. SHe told us all that the best way to go with the points is to head for the middle of your point range every week....makes for a more consistant loss....hope this helps you. Have a great evening.
Chris.

Arwen 09-11-2002 05:38 PM

Chris

Do you mean that if you are allowed 24-26 you should try for 25?

Lost 2lb tonight at WW - YIPPEE :cb:

Sprog #2 (Livi) has been car sick for about a year - it seems to only be in the mornings on the school run though - every other journey seems fine!! I thought it may be milky breakfast cereal but since we switched to toast there's been no change. I wonder if I should not give her breakfast until we get back from school, worth a try I guess.

I think that's good advice - I'm going to try for 25 points for the next week and see how I go. Tonight I have had 22 points and been to Salsa and danced really madly for 1 hour. I wouldn't normally go under my points but today was another mad day and I just didn't get time to eat dinner properly - Had to take Sprog #2 to the drs AGAIN (she now has ear infection!!) then I had to get to WW and then to Salsa so I was pretty rushed. Dave has promised to do the school run tomorrow so I can have a bit of a break. As I write this she is awake and not feeling well so I'd better go and sort her out...

Goodnight everyone and be good tomorrow eh?

BritinNJ 09-11-2002 08:53 PM

Helen, I am looking at my points book for weight and I think , that you should be allowed between 24 and 29 points for your weight? Or is it that over here in the US we have a larger point range? I can't quite work it out right now, I am brain dead....can't convert...duh!
I weigh 215 pounds as of last Monday so I am allowed 24-29 and I try for 26 a day. Last time I was good on WW I lost an average of three pounds a week which was great going....
Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask, I have all the pamphlets... :)
Melissa.......Salsa sounds like right fun.....hope you have a great day and no illnesses tomorrow.....hope you're sleeping well :)

Hello everyone!! I had some minor surgery yesterday, basically a couple of moles zapped with cryosurgery and a lump (that my doc informed me loooked like skin cancer!!!!!) cut from my arm, I am a little sore at the moment but trying not to eat too much. I cant get my stitches wet for a week so no swimming for me, and the doctor told me to give the gym a miss as the cut in my arm is quite deep!! I feel so frustrated but am still walking 1 and a half hours per day so hope this will help the weightloss/well being feeling!!

I have just cooked Harry a pizza and he is complaining it is too spicy, i hope he can eat it cos if he leaves it , it smells too good to throw away!! H-E-L-P !!!!!!!!!!!

Things have gone down hill for me from Tuesday night. Tuesday night was the night out for the project I have been working on for the last year. The company we bought the software from put £700 behind the bar and around 30 of us drank the lot. The guys from the company were drinking champagne so we weren't that bad, but it did blow my good eating. I was late home and tired all day Wednesday and then went to bed early yesterday only to be woken by Steven in the very early hours, with ear ache - seems to be something in the air.

He is a bit better tonight but not 100% yet. So this morning I had to take him to my mums, get Sean to school and still be in work for just after 9 - and then to finish it all off, I had a rubbish day at work - but they happen to all off us. And now I feel awful think I have Stevens cold, he always gets ear ache befor ehe gets a cold.

Am going to put my feet up have a bar of chocolate and a couple of glasses of wine and then off to bed - sorry to talk about chocolate and wine on a healthy site but I need it tonight

Will be back tomorrow - pumped full of vitamins and anadin and I will be back on top form.

New bed comes on Monday, if I can get a house sitter, so need to finish the decorating this weekend.

Carol, you poor luv, hope you feel better soon, take it easy. pop some lemsip in that wine :)
Chris.

Smiling Sal 09-13-2002 08:42 AM

Lemsip in the wine never thought of that. Am sniffling my way through the day - nearly time to go home

Smiling Sal 09-13-2002 01:24 PM

Am feeling much better now - amazing what a little bit of sunshine and Friday evening can do for you. My eating has been eractic this week to say the least. I haven't over eaten if anything I haven't eaten enough, have skipped breakfast most mornings, not like me and then lunch has been sandwich and low fat yogurt and have picked at my dinner. Think my lack of appetite was maybe a run up to me feeling under the weather for the last couple of days, because I have my appetite back now with vengance. Need to keep it under control.

Am off to York to a suppliers conference on Monday, me and the team leader are presenting to the roadshow on Tuesday morning and then will enjoy the conference for the next couple of days - I hope. Only thing is it's my wedding anniversary on Tuesday and I'll be away from Ray - just need to celebrate when I come home on the Wednesday.

Could prattle on for ever, so am going to go and leave you in peace and will chat to you all later

Delaney 09-13-2002 02:31 PM

Sorry to hear you've been a bit under the weather Carol, enjoy your choc and wine.

TQ - hope your zapped moles are ok? Dave had that done last January - he has a wicked scar that he likes to tell people is a shark bite - it is a bit jaggedy but a shark bite?????????????

Sprog #2 went to nursery today HURRAY!! I had my acrylic nail extensions which I've been promising myself for months, then I went to the gym with a friend and worked off the lunch I knew we were going to have... I had a HUGE triple decker, chicken, bacon, cheese and salad club sandwhich but it came with chips!! I was not expecting that - I ate less than half - a few months ago I'd have scoffed the lot... Anyway, tonight I've had a low fat curry to make up for it and no wine or choc for me tonight...

With it being Friday 13th one of the satellite channels is doing a 'fright night' going to go and watch that whilst doing the ironing (so if it gets scary I can concentrate on ironing rather than telly).

Smiling Sal 09-14-2002 03:26 AM

Morning, Saturday morning again, one good thing the boys don't want to go to football training this morning - Steven isn't fit enough, he is loaded with the cold too and I doubt he could run the length of himself let alone a football pitch - which means we get to have a lazy morning.

So I've logged on here, when I should really be tidying the kitchen and doing a load of washing. Later on we're off to buy a DVD player - Ray has wanted one for ages and he has been working 12 hours a day 7 days a week for the last wee while, so best let him spend his money on something he wants. The boys have already decided we're buying the lord of the rings to watch on it. Think Asda had the best deal on that film, bet they have none left.

Anyway still snffling, but at least I slept right through the night without getting up every hour of or so to comfort Steven - think we must all be getting better

Need to get my act together today - I have definately got my appetite back

See you later

Smiling Sal 09-15-2002 04:59 AM

Am having an attack of conscience. Tomorrow I am to York for a helpdesk conference and I need to present to one of the sessions. Big problem is it means 2 nights in a hotel with someone making the breakfast and tea and clearing it all up afterwards, along with all that there will be lunch and coffee breaks to cope with as well.

I am only just hanging on to my healthy plan, but I'm clinging on for dear life. I know that when I get a smell of bacon on Tuesday & Wednesday morning I will be done for. I know I need to plan and say OK one morning I can have bacon and scrambled egg the other morning fruit and yogurt or cereal. Sounds easy but if I can make Tuesday my fruit breakfast means I can have bacon on Wednesday if I stick to the healthy options for the rest of Tuesday.

I have no idea what the lunches will be, Tuesday night is a gala dinner so that will be lots of wine and courses, will need to be very strong and stick to a couple of small glasses of wine during the meal and water for the rest.

Will be a test of my willpower, cause I don't want to weigh in on Thursday morning and see a gain, that is what I need to remind myself off everytime I am tempted to eat something

Had a great day yesterday, just need to be like that everyday and my weight problem would be a thing of the past.

If the weather is dry in York I'm going to go for a walk in the morning, instead of sitting in the restaurant or watching breakfast TV - Am full of ways to make sure I get through this.

Speak to you later, I need to go buy some cat food, but the boys won't get dressed and the shop is too far away to leave them at home themsleves.

Been holding my stomach muscles in while walking around. I used to do this a lot and had forgotten how hard it was !!!!!!!!

tupperware queen 09-15-2002 01:23 PM

Hiya one and all, hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Carol, I don't envy you the challenge but try to use it to your advantage, being pampered etc. I know it is work not pleasure but enjoy the silence in your hotel room and try to get some TFM (time for me!!)

We have had visitors all weekend and it has been really nice , the food situation has been challenging, we went out to a n Aussie Steak house last night, I volunteered to drive and had a couple of drinks when I got home. I treated myself to the ww points calculator this week and am really getting into it. Makes a change from calorie counting anyway and I think I was ready for a change in the diet department. Lets hope I can keep it up.
I watched them all eat pizza n pasta today, I had salad and cottage cheese to try to compensate for last night, I have just had a bowl of homemade spicy parsnip soup hope that keeps the greedy demons away for the rest of the evening :s: :s: :nono:
