I love Nottingham too Melissa, I used to do a lot of courses there when I worked as a trainer for the Hotel and catering training board, loved the shops and the nightlife. (big Sigh!!!!!!)
I love ww on sat mornings cos it gives me a good point to go from at the weekend, I always have whatever i want on sat evening and feel like my life isnt on hold anymore!! The points are taking a bit of getting used to but i am getting there!! Dont be too hard on yourself Melissa and get some stuff for yourself from the hospital, wish you and the little one better really soon!! |
Am looking forward now and not back - have got over leaving my lovely site yesterday the new one will be just as great once I get used to it and it has a lovely park for me to walk in.
Did I tell you I got a cockatiel (sp?) last weekend. A friend breeds them and promised me one so now he's here and is really ruling the roast. I've let him out for some exercise and he's squwarking everywhere - just as well my neighbours are deaf. He's lovely and will be even more lovely when he more use to us and we can pick him up and handle him a bit more - at the moment getting him back in the cage is a bit of a hassle - a big hassle in fact. Hope you and Sprog #2 are feeling better soon Melissa. Steven had to miss football training this morning as he's hurt his foot, it must be bad cause he hasn't gone out to play. Although one of his pals has come in, goodness only knows what they are up to in Seans room, but they are quiet so I'm leaving them to get on with it - will probably regret that later though. I best go get started with that room, need to hang out a load of washing first and then just get to it - am going to be an angel today C'ya |
I can see your halo shining from here Carol:cool:
don't mention kids playing in bedrooms, H's looks like nothing on earth after the last time his friends came around, I swear I am not going in there till it is all picked up!! |
We are still trying to sell the house, so I made my 12 year old son tidy his room last weekend - and I mean REALLY tidy it! We had a total clear out and gave 3 bin-bags full of stuff to charity. The room looks twice as big, it's amazing!
|
Evenin' all
That sounds like a good idea Nicky - I think I'll get in Sprog #1's room and sort it before I even think of decorating in there...I bet there's loads of stuff we could give to charity - I'll tell her that we need to make more room for Santa coming (I know its a way off yet, but anything to get her room de-cluttered). The hospital was awful, they made me go to A&E for my medicine (now got impetigo too!!) we sat there from 11.30 to 3.30 - what a way to spend a Saturday. So much for going shopping and getting Sprog #2's b.day prezzies and having an 'evil' lunch - we had crappy/soggy and VERY expensive sandwhiches!!! Going to bed now - I hope everyone had a better Saturday than me! |
Knew I'd forgotten something....
Carol - I love cockatiels - we were only talking last weekend about getting one, Dave's concerned that the cage etc would be expensive. I grew up with them (not actually in aviary you understand) but we always had at least one as I was growing up - dead jelous now... |
Things have been going quite well here, I've managed to stick to my points most days and on a couple have managed to only have 18 (I'm allowed 26). My scales show I've lost the 4lb I gained on holiday and another 1lb as well so I'm quite looking forward to Wednesdays official weigh-in, at least it shouldn't be bad news:)
Melissa, I hope you all recover from Impetigo soon. You could try the method I use for eliminating big piles of ironing - don't bother!:D I don't really know much about Impetigo, although I had a friend who had it briefly, but I know it looked very sore and it must be dreadful on a small child who doesn't understand fully the implications of touching it or not rubbing cream off etc. BTW your daughter has a very normal reaction to the ELC catalogue Hey I want something off every page too and I'm 38! When we bought our daughter the dolls house my husband was overheard making a comment wondering WHO we had actually bought it for! I'm not sure what to plan for meals today but need to sort something soon - I find it very difficult to keep within points unlesss I have a plan for the day. |
Melissa the cage and the rest of the starter pack, some food, tray mats the sandpaper things and some treats, cost £49 I think from Pets at home. Just wish Woody - my cockitiel would come to me, he is still getting use to us - don't think It'll take much longer. Woody come from my friends avairy so think he finds it strange inside a house and on his own.
Have been an angel food wise but have drunk to much of that alchol stuff over the weekend. Thursday will tell if I have blown it all. Started at my new site today, no stress, no hassles and a pleasant drive home in torrential rain ???? Need to rush taking Ray to the pub then it's home to do the minimum of ironing - it's only the schools clothes so to be honest they will probably end up in the tumble drier and then being folded, my work shirt is not quiet as easy - although I may try it and see if it works. I think we should start a 3FC anti ironing campaign |
I don't "do" ironing myself  Yes I look a little crumpled!
|
Err ... I buy non-iron shirts and sheets!
|
No Ironing in this house unless Dave does it....
|
Wow! now that's what I call training. How did you get him to do that!?
|
LOL...it's his uniforms, I used to iron them years back when I was a 'good' wife but he complained about the creases one time and so no more ironed uniforms for him....he has never ever asked for anything to be irorned since either, in fact, he will offer to iron my stuff if I need something pressed.....good eh? :)
I have had a great day food wise. I believe I am back on track :) It was my first day back at work with kids today too, so as I didn't eat while I was there I think I'll do ok. ( we use food as reinforcers for our kids) I am going to start back with small goals instead of a final goal for now as I think this will work better for me. So my first goal is to lose ten pounds, and I hope to do this by the end of October.... wish me luck please. Everyone have a great day tomorrow when you wake up. Take care, Love Chris. |
Well today started off well...NOT!!!!
We all got up 40 mins late due to alarm not being set - doh! Then on the way back from school Sprog #2 projectile vomited all over the flippin' car!! AND ITS ONLY JUST GONE 9AM!!! I usually have about 3 ironing piles stashed around the house out of sight, out of mind eh? Chris - I too am not thinking of the long term (it's too big a job to contemplate) so I am going in 7lb's and so far I am on track. However, last night I did eat 3 mini packets of malteasers - I wish I hadn't but I did so I have to get on with it don't I? I'm sure you will manage 10lb by the end of October - good luck... Carol - I'm seriously jealous - Dave has said absolutely no to any pets unless its a dog (don't even get me started on that one!!!) I'm glad that your new job site was ok - but that rain was horrendous wasn't it? It started here abouty 11.30 and didn't stop until about 7pm. Arwen - are you on WW points? I'm on 26 per day but at that am losing 1lb per week and I'd love it to be a bit more - my leader says I mustn't drop my points as it will not work in the long run - not quite sure what she means. Better go - have to get Sprog #2 to the hospital AGAIN for another check-up to see if she can go back to nursery tomorrow - wish us luck. |
Melissa, yes I am on WW points and I'm sure my leader would generally agree with yours that I shouldn't drop points ALTHOUGH officially she has told me to have 24, its the literature thats told me to have 26. I have managed several days on 18 points and certainly wouldn't consider it longterm, I was just trying to get rid of what I'd gained in a hurry. My weight loss is pretty slow on this amount of points (ie 26) but can't really give an average as I've not been back on it for long enough. I think I've started so many diets in the last 18 months that my body just doesn't know whats going on now and I didn't manage my usual first weeks loss of 6lb. I think if we start off on too few points we will be really starving ourselves once we get to a point where we only have 1 or 2 stone left to lose and I suppose thats the reasoning. My reasoning is that the odd day on 18 won't hurt as it will just make up for the days I've gone over.
As far as the diet goes everything was fine till Monday lunchtime and suddenly its gone downhill with such strong craving for chocolate that I've given in, but not binged. I've gone over my points again today but will go and face the music and get weighed tomorrrow. Its TOM cravings I suppose but I usually get them the week after, not the week before. Strange. On a more positive note my daughter started at the nursery attached to school today and it was the first time I've had the house to myself for 3 1/2 years. It was wonderful but very strange. It did, however, mean I had to walk to and from school a total of 8 times (taking her and coming back home, fetching her home for lunch as no provision for lunch for under 4's, taking her back and coming home and going to fetch her to bring her home in the afternoon). A total of 2 hours walking so that should have burnt off a few points. Alison, sunday evening I only avoided over-eating by spending 1.5 hours reading your journal on your website - what I shame I don't have it in hardback! |
