Oh not that I'd be eating them ahem (not this week or soon anyway) but have the veggies seen that loads of Mars products are now not vegetarian? link.

Quote:
The Vegetarian Society is extremely disappointed to learn that Mars favourites such as Mars, Milky Way, Bounty, Snickers, Galaxy, Twix and Maltesers are now all unsuitable for vegetarians. At a time when more and more consumers are concerned about the provenance of their food, Masterfoods’ decision to use non-vegetarian whey is a backward step. Mars products are very popular with young people and many will be shocked to discover that their manufacture now relies on the extraction of rennet from the stomach lining of young calves.
Worse is most of the ice cream bars are now non veg.

Hello everyone

I managed to post yesterday but posted in the wrong place I am such a big eejit sometimes.

This morning didn't I get up and go to the gym, had a great old run then popped into see my parents. Hubby then came and picked me up and said Mandy had been round to show me her new rabbit. So we popped round to hers to have a look. Ohhhh it is so cute just 10 weeks old. Its strange because he is just like Norman Mandy's rabbit that she had for years who was evenutally taken by a fox. Norman was my Kerry's father. Ken was delighted to see me and seems to love the rabbit.

I must shift myself and get in the bath.

Take good care

Hi Everyone,

Goodness, its been quiet here! I have been internet-less for three days... I changed ISP and Orange (bless their little cotton socks) cut me off three days earlier than the agreed changeover day and every time I tried to phone them I couldn't understand a word the customer service rep was trying to say - not sure where their customer service department is... but English was definitely their second (or possibly third) language! Finally got it all up and running with Virgin though.

Being as I haven't been able to use the internet, I've had loads of time for some serious allotment gardening. DH took this weekend off and we have managed to get most of our seeds and seedlings sewn/planted.... just beetroot, broadbeans and parsnips to go but the ground where we want to put them is like concrete. My thigh muscles feel all wobbly from trying to force the spade in to it.

I have been really bad when it comes to food... what with walking the dogs and all this digging and raking ... I've been so hungry (and tired).

Chris, my nap attack the other day was (I think) just a reaction to so much exercise plus so many extra shifts at work. I like to walk the dogs before work so I've been getting up at about 5.15 / 5.30, walking the dogs for a couple of hours, then doing an 8 hour work day followed by an hour or two at the allotment after I've finished work or after dinner - so I think I have just been getting overtired.

Goodness.... where IS everybody???

Sarahgrace - good luck with the essay - I'm so glad my essay writing days are over and done with.

I'm having a 'rest' day (except for cleaning, cooking, etc) - its supposed to rain here this afternoon so no gardening for me. (Is 'gardening' the right word to use when talking about an allotment??? Maybe it should be 'allotmenting' instead!)

As usual I walked the dogs this morning ... I've thought of a way of killing two birds with one stone... Fred has become a real nuisance because he's got a kind of OCD for shepherding the other two - if they fall behind he runs back and grabs a big mouthful of their cheek between his teeth and, even though he's the smallest, he drags them so they keep up with me - often making them bleed - and Ellie's disappearing habit has gotten a lot worse.... One minute she's there and the next minute she wanders off or chases something and doesn't come back - her colouring is exactly the same as wood bark so she blends in to the background - which means that I've been having to walk her on her lead for the past couple of months - not much fun for either of us. Anyway... we've been told that the only way to stop Fred doing his shepherding compulsion is to give him a proper 'job' to do - so I attached Ellie's harness to Fred's collar with a double ended lead .... and they love it! Ellie's happy because she gets to stop and sniff a lot and Fred enjoys being in charge of Ellie ... if you've ever seen a guide dog for the blind at work you will have seen that they move differently from a normal dog - sort of purposeful - well that's how Fred moves when he's walking Ellie. Cute!

That makes me cross.
Presumably now vegetarianism isn't trendy it's cheaper to just ignore us altogether.

Not that I liked mars bars, but I was quite partial to minstrels and maltesters.

Sarah, that sounds a really great solution with the doggies!

I've been pottering around - Saturday we went to look at estate agents. I also picked up my marathon shoes and had a look at some Birkenstocks for Spain in Harrods.

Yesterday I went to a Beyond Chocolate tea party near Borough Market to celebrate No-Diet Day! It was really lovely.

Today it's raining and we are moping around because we don't know what to do!!!! I think we'll play scrabble and maybe watch a DVD or something. I am going to go to Waitrose next to buy bread and some nice stuff for tea. Also nice choccy! heh!

Hello there.

Saturday we went to Six Flags. Got a good workout walked around that place for 9 hours. We went with hubbie's work and it was catered. Got to upgrade to season passes so will go back again soon. Hubbie took a photo of me 7 hours in sitting at a tree . It's a dreadful photo if that doesn't make me lose weight I don't know what will. We were all shattered Saturday night when we got home I got a bit of sun again.

Just pottered around the house yesterday. Some critters are eating my veggies. My peppers were growing lovely and they're gone now none on the plants.

I had a dreadful night's sleep last night, hormones. So today will be a lazy day.

Frus Beyond Chocolate that sounds devilish but good

I have done nothing this weekend, wouldn't say I had eaten too badly but have done no exercise and ww have this walking challenge on which started yesterday and I was really going to try to cover a few miles but am off to a bad start so far. I've lay about all day with having no work which I think i'm entitled to do ha ha. I think I may get up soon and walk to the somerfield and get some stuff for lunches for the rest of the week. Torilla wraps seem to be the in thing so might by them, my only problem is that am crap at trying to think of fillings to put in them that are actually low ww points because a loveeee cheese and thats obviously a big no no.

My sister has left the house with 2 pedometers for the ww walking challenge, one on each side. The first one I gave her was just a step counter and the 2nd one is too complicated for either of us without instructions.

Hi girls, sorry I have not been on here for ages, my mum was ill in hospital and found out she has angina and my hubbys mum is not well either she has severe neuralgia plus we have been house-hunting - just had an offer accepted and in process of applying for a mortgage so its been all go!

I have been TERRIBLE on my diet, eating rubbish and drinking too much and not been to the gym at all and I feel awful! I really need to get back on track, any good suggestions for motivation?

I just bought my new step counter at the beginning of this year when I rejoined, and it tracks your steps, miles and you can store your weight in it which can be easily changed to then make it count your bonus points a bit more accurate.

As you can all probably guess I have yet to go out this walk that I said I was going on, I am terrible for getting motivated for a walk because its the one thing that I hate I just find it so boring, but I really need to get myself sorted this week, might go stick my mp3 player on and go pound the streets of not so sunny scotland.

Hello everyone

Hello again Tracy, and hello Sarah I wondered where you were too.

Well I've been busy all weekend. Didn't go to the Mousetrap but ended up drinking with my father instead long story!!! Went to mass again this week I am back in the flock me thinks.

Last night I went to a little village to watch my friend Mandy's nephew's band. They were really good took me back to my days of following bands around. Afterwards we drove to South Mimms service station for a cup of tea and a cake. I had Lucozade as I was feeling a little queasy but still managed a choccy doughnut with some kind of filling inside. Got home about 1ish. Hubby was crashed out on the sofa and I couldn't wake the big eejit so I left him there.

Today its grey and horrid. I've not done much really a bit of washing and a trip to the shoppies. Big fella is supposedly revising and the little fella is out socialising as usual. Hubby is out too.

Frus that chocolate thingy you went to sounds yum I almost bought some choccy today but I felt decidedly podgy last night so I resisted.

I had better go and put some dinner on for my crowd.

Hello, I'm back from Wales

I had a pretty good time. I'm not sure what was the greater test of endurance though, the 18.5 mile run I made myself do on Sunday morning, or spending 6 hours a day watching rugby from a plastic seat. Saturday wasn't so bad, but after running on Sunday morning then sitting on a seat all afternoon didn't agree with my hamstrings!

Eating wasn't too bad. Not as good as when I'm at home, and there was a little red wine consumed *cough*, but I got all my veggies in, and was generally pretty sensible. Knowing that I had to get that run done on Sunday (last opportunity before Edinburgh) kept me on track on Saturday at least.

I still haven't decided about the job situation. I'm meant to be getting back to her tomorrow but I have no idea what I'm going to say.

I'm officially tapering now, so I might skip the gym in the morning as I've only just got back home, and just do some yoga or something in the evening. I must remember that it's OK to ease off exercise for the next few weeks, I sometimes find myself feeling guilty if I don't do anything. I'm not easing off totally yet though, I have a half marathon on Sunday, but I'm going to try to cut my mileage to about 30 this week, then 20 and then 10 the week of the marathon.

Ooooh exciting marathonning! YAY!

I'm aiming for 3 whole miles this week! I've got my new adidas marathon trainers - I must take a picture they are frightfully bright! I LOVE them!

Had a very restful weekend - played Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and watched The Hulk yesterday. Ah bank holidays We also went for a long walk in the woods and I have it marked down for a running route when I get out on the roads when my knee is a little bit more recovered.
