HI Everyone! Just had to liven things up a bit!!! I have been sooo stressed about

everything that I put in my mouth! You know, food is suppose to be something you

enjoy. I love fruits and enjoy them. So I am going to the fruit stand tomorrow to get

some. I am going to TRY to TRY one new fruit and veggies a week. I think it is

something to help liven up my "lifestyle" and not stress over it too much. Hey! If I don't

like it, I will move to a different one the next week. I think it may be fun and hey! if anyone

else wants to, maybe we could make it a thread! LOL Sorry I am getting soooo

excited ....lol LOL Take care everyone!! Penny

Good morning all---WOW This month is almost over.I can't believe how fast it went.It will be time for our SRD in April and that is just around the corner.Maybe that is the inspiration I need. Since we come from all over, the different states have their SRD at different times { State Recognition Day}When is yours? If you have never been to one I encourage you to go.You will see hundreds of people like yourself and will see and hear many success stories.
Ours will be in Fort Myers Fl this year.It was in Jacksonville last year. Some clubs wear matching outfits of some kind.Sometimes just vests with their clubs names or maybe hats .I have only been to 2 and I wouldn't miss it for anything.I have had my reservations since April of last year.I usually make it a mini vacation for my husband and I.I go a day early and stay over one night. Here it is on a Friday night and all day Sat til late afternoon. It is really something to see.The graduation of TOPS to KOPS is great.
Weather here is beautiful.I guess that is why you see so many people on our walking & bike trail they made out of old railroad line.I think there are a few sections yet to complete but once finished it will go from Tarpon Springs to St.Petersburg.Maybe farther.I will look that up.They have it patrolled during the day so it is pretty safe.
Hope everyone has a good day today.

Good Morning everyone,

Just a quick post. I won't be going to my meeting tonight because I am not feeling good. I was planning on not going because I have been so busy this week but I woke up with a terrible cold this morning so I won't be going.
Eleni......our PRD (I am in Canada) is in April too. It is the last weekend in April. I am thinking about going but I am not too sure. Everyone tells me it is a lot of fun. We might be moving so I will have to wait and see what happens. We have one person going from TOPS to KOPS at our PRD this year.
I should get started at work but wanted to pop in to say hi.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Marie

Good morning all.

Eleni - the SRD sounds wonderful. Our group is planning all kinds of fun events. I'm from KS, and ours is the last weekend of April in Hutchinson, KS. I wish I could go, but I've got a big barrel race that weekend. I never travel far for the big races, but this one is being held right in Wichita, so I'd be crazy to miss it. My goal is to be able to go next year and by then maybe be part of that wonderful sounding graduating ceremony. Our leader says it is really something.

Hi all,

Well the sun is shining here and it is only 26 degrees. But with the windchill it is only 8 degrees. Burr! I hate the cold. Eleni I wish I were there with you or you penny. You guys have great weather now. At least it isn't freezing there.LOL

I don't know when our SRD is. We have something like that coming up and it is the 1st weekend in june. But I am not sure which it is. I can't go because that is the weekend we have my daughters huge birthday party. She will be 3 years old this year. Boy how time flys. I don't know where the time goes.
Well I am out of commission on the exercise for another week and the doctor took me out of work until monday. I had to go to the er this morning because I could hardly breathe. I now know that the problem is a combination of the bronchitis I had and the cold and the puppy. So now my husband has to finish her dog house and put a light bulb in it for warmth for her. She is only 8 weeks old and it is so cold outside. That is why she has been inside. But I am allergic to her but thought it would be okay. We can't get rid of her now because my daughter is too attached to her. So she will be outside soon and I should be back to normal then. Thank god. There isn't anything worse then not being able to breathe and gasping for air. But I know that a lot of people have a lot worse diseases then asthma. I am fortunate in that aspect I guess.
Penny that is great that you are going to start trying new fruits. I am chicken when it comes to trying new things. So that is great that you do that. I did buy a lot of apples and oranges this week and have been having sometimes 2 a day. So I am getting more fruit then I was. Which is why I think that the scale went down again for me. I had an apple for lunch yesterday and no bread.
Eleni,

Yes we have a bike trail here also. But it is in lake george and that is about 45 min. away. But it is very long also. I don't know how long though.

Marie,

Hello and it is glad to hear from you. Where are you supposed to be moving to? Have a great day and keep up all your hard work.

Good afternoon all,

I'm planning on going to my meeting tonight, but I may not. My daughter has another migraine..3 in 4 days and I'm wondering if something else isn't going on. She is so upset and trying to get her to relax is hard

I am really looking forward to our SRD. I make sure I go every year. This is something I do for ME because I feel that I really need all the encouragement that I can get. Ours is June 1 and 2 in Pueblo, Colorado. I graduated 5 years ago at one, and since I'm a reinstated KOPS, I participate in the 'circle of lights'. What a special event!! Next year in July Colorado hosts the IRD (international recognition days) in Colorado Springs....so if any of you have ever thought of visiting Colorado, what a great time to do it. I know they are planning a lot of tour things and there is sooooo much to do in the Springs area. This year it is in Seattle.

It is 20 degrees out and snowing. It is forcasted for the next few days also. But, Hey, what should I expect when I live where I do? Can't wait till May when I might have all the snow out of my front yard.

Eleni, We have a 12 mile trail that was completed last summer that goes through some of the old mining areas around town. I hear it is beautiful and all paved. Right now it is all snow covered so it is being used as a cross country ski trail. Snowmobiles are to stay off but most of those folks don't like to obey the laws much and have really caused some problems for others trying to use it for which it was made. There are so many other places the machines can use, most of our land around here is open space, so it's unfortunate that walkers and such are upended. Sorry, I ranted on, but this is a touchy subject with me.

Sherri, what a shame about the dog. Do air purifiers help you? I'm glad you will put a light in her dog house to keep her warm. So many dogs around here are terribly neglected in this very cold climate. Luckily none of us has allergies, so our dog is a spoiled house dog. There aren't too many Border Collies that like to lay around and be mellow!!!

Penny, you're lucky you have a fruit stand to go to. Our fruits in the grocery store here are just the normal basic stuff so unfortunately there is nothing new or exotic to try. Have fun with your new taste adventure.

donna, glad your staying on plan. Keep going onwards!!

Marie, hope you get to feeling better too! You'll have a loss next week.

TkMagic, Have fun with your barrel race and yes, try to make it to SRD next year. I highly encourage anyone that reaches goal by the end of this year to graduate at their states SRD next year.

Well, everyone have a great afternoon and evening and I will report in later if I get to weigh in.

Summer

Thought I would check in again.

Sherri...sorry to hear about your allergies. Our dogs are like Summers...very spoiled. When we got our oldest dog at 8 weeks old he was from a farm. The lady told us we would never get him to stay in the house....famous last words. We are considering a move to Ontario. My husband and I haven't decided for sure but we are looking into it.

Penny.......that is great about trying a new fruit and vegetable a week. There are so many things I don't try because I don't know what they are like but I will never know until I try them. Some of the time it is because I don't know what to do with them but it isn't too hard to find out.

TK.....I am hoping to be part of the graduation next year too and then I will go for sure. Things are so up in the air now I don't want to make any plans. Good luck with the race.

Donna.....I am in Calgary so not far from you. Congrats on staying on program this week.

Summer....hope your daughter is feeling better. I worry about all the dogs who are outside too. Too many people leave them out in all kinds of weather without proper shelter and I don't understand it.

Better get going again and get back to work.
