Default A Merry one!!

Got another day down on both the crunches and the no-sugar challenges! I am rockin'!! And tonight (now!) is Christmas Eve and it's the custom to buy an unmentionable edible! But I am totally immune to such temptation! It feels good to be off the sugar again, really.
So, Day 5 on crunches is done. Day 3 on sugar.

**************

dj -- A Merry Christmas to you too! I do miss the Christmasy things. There is some here but it's not the same....just a work day for me tomorrow, though I have decided NOT to go into the office. Was at the track today covering a big race and have a press club meet tomorrow so I am working, but not in the office. I am making time to go see my horse too and give her some special treats, hang a New Year's decoration on her stall door...New Year's is big here...ok, enough babbling. I hope to see you back in here with us after the holidays. You are a rock!

Others! all the best for the season!

Morning everyone.

Merry Christmas Red, hope the New Year coming will bring you a better year than you had last year. And Seansons Greetings to all the others on this thread too.

It's been a bit hectic these last couple of months with relocating to Townsville until April next year and Christmas and whatnot, but I shall be back here with a personal challenge after the 5th January when life as I know it goes back to normal. I haven't exactly done badly since the last challenge but I haven't done brilliantly either so....... a challenge is coming.

Hi there Shad!! Good to hear from you! You were having a late one I see! Thanks for the greetings. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas. I did, went to a yearend party with the racing writers and won a portable DVD player at bingo! Hurrah! That's the first time I ever won anything big. Well, it's off to work today and I'm running late. It was a workday yesterday as well but I just decided I was NOT going to go into that office on Christmas Day! So, I went out, saw the horse, had a bit of a ride and then to the press meet and party! An actual Christmas-like day after all! It'd be great to have you in here doing a challenge again! Are you really going to? I sure hope so. Best of all in 2007. This year has been way rough, but I'm hoping good things will happen next.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I'm back from my holiday. Had a wonderful time at my son's house and seeing old friends again, but now back to reality tomorrow. I'm goin on vacation for a week starting New Year's Eve, so am really expecting this will be more of a 7-day challenge!

Calories - under 1500
Exercise - >30 minutes
Candy - <100 calories

Red - sounds like you had a nice Christmas day with your horse. Congratulations on winning the DVD player. What kind of horse do you have?

Shad - nice to see someone new will be joining us after the first of the year.

Hope everyone else had a nice Christmas.

Thumbs up another one hits the dust!!!

Yo, peops! Another day in the bag!! That makes it Day 7 on crunches ( I JUST did them) and Day 5 on no sugar...how is that for discipline, eh?!?!? )

**************

Ash -- Merry Christmas to ya! Thanks for the well wishes. Seven days?!?!?, no way!!, 21 or die!!!

Shad is NOT a new member! She's old as the hills...of course, this has nothing to do with years or whatsoever. Ash, my horse is a Haflinger/Paint mix. Yowzah!

My word, I am glad you clarified that so well Red, although the sons may agree with you about the old as the hills bit.

I've been around this site for years Ashley, I have participated in several personal challenges but because I go to some odd places in my work (the latest one is quite civilised) I don't always get too much chance to go online or to exercise in the spirit of the challenge. I don't get back to Townsville until 5th January, tha's why I am not starting the challenge until then. I'm aiming for a 10% body weight loss this year. That doesn't sound like much (7.7kg)but since it takes forever to lose anything in this body, it will be a challenge.

Okay, better go check out the other threads. See you all. Red, you are keeping some interesting hours I see. Very Japanese.

Day 8 on crunches, Day 6 on no sugar are finished!!

Shad -- Yeah, good thing for me I did clarify that so well, eh? It wouldn't do to have you angry with me! Yeah, late hours it is, with the bonenkai season upon us. I had two yearend parties in a row, made the last train home (partway) and had to get a taxi the rest. That's doing far better than often, when I have to take a taxi the whole way! Looking forward to hearing more from you!

sweet -- Glad you had a good time on Christmas. Good luck on your challenge and good for you for starting up so promptly, not giving yourself excuses through New Year's or anything! Thank you for recognizing my dedication. I am hanging in there, really feel good to be off the sugar. Still, my dedication cannot be compared to elsewhere, where Christmas is bigger and families come into the picture. Here, it's just me and the cats and the parties are just about drinking..at least that's how I see them. I am being good with the sugar though, so I guess I'll give myself a little credit.

dj, Ash, Apple, Sushi, LaBonita, jolly, others, how are you all doing?! Hope to hear more from you soon!

Hi everyone! Sounds like you are all doing good and had a good holiday. We had a great Christmas ourselves. I am really enjoying my week off of work. I am however, getting things back to normal starting today. Thought about waiting until after New Year's, but, I just can't justify that one, so here goes..

Counting calories (no actual limit right now, just getting back to the habit) - Level 3

Exercise everyday - level 3

THink that's enough for right now. I'm looking forward to getting back into the exercise thing. I asked for, and recieved for Christmas, a stability ball and a new step. The step I'm really excited about. It's one of those high steps that goes up to 14" so I can use it for aerobics at a lower height and strength training at the higher height. Last year I got my first step which only goes up to 6" and it turned out to be my favorite piece of equipment. Now I can push myself a little more.

Red - Congrats on the DVD player! Sounds like you had a better Christmas than you were expecting! Good going on those challenges too! You've kept going even though the rest of us were on break, that's great!

Hey Shad - Glad to hear you'll be back with us! Bet you're looking forward to your life getting back to normal again! Good luck with everything.

Ashley - Glad to hear you had a good Christmas with your son and friends! Good luck with your challenges.

Sweet Pea - Fired up and ready huh? That's great! Glad you had a good Christmas too!

Have a great day everyone!

Default I'm back!

Hi Ladies- Hi Red! My weekly thread died so I'm back to join the 21 day challenge again. I miss my 3fc buddies but I know I will find some new friends here and Red -you are a dear old friend - How are you doing?

My challenge is to move my bb (big butt) every day for 21 days. I am on WW but not doing well - may have to check into one of their threads too. Gained 7 lbs over the holiday but I am resolved to get back into shape - I am teaching 2 belly dancing classes this semester.

Have a great day everyone - I am off to the stairclimber!

dj, mscat! Great to see you. mscat, I'm OK but just too, too busy and very stressed, burning out basically....so not really OK... Anyhow, it's good to see you, sorry about your weekly thread. But, we keep this one going with a few regulars. My presence hasn't been the best at times, but we're still here! Gotta run. dj, good for you for getting back in the swing before New Year's!! Excellent work!

Finished day 2 with calories and exercise. I've been thinking of New Year's resolutions. I typically put something like "lose 50 pounds" on my list of resolutions, and then I typically scratch it off the list after about two days. This year, I intend to change this approach to something geared more towards an improvement in my lifestyle instead. Maybe parking at the far end of the lot each day, or starting a new activity or hobby that involves exercise of some sort. Still thinking on this.

DJ - 14" step??? Wow that is impressive You'll be able to kick butt doing steps that high.

Shad - let me change that to "welcome back". You must have interesting stories to go with the odd places where you work. One of my sisters travels quite a bit with her job, and her life always sounds so exciting compared with mine, where I rarely leave town.

Red - I grew up riding horses as work animals. We always had a few horses in use for herding cattle. Had a paint once, but I had to look up a picture of the Haflinger. Can't say I ever came to appreciate the horses as a source of anything approaching fun - they were always an instrument of work!

Sweet Pea - fired up is great! Good luck with your challenges.

Hope everyone else is doing well.
