my first post
Hi Everyone! This is my first post so I hope i'm doing this right. Well my goal is to loose 80lbs. I started weight watchers but sometimes i just find myself ... not hungry.. but WANTING something i totally shouldn't eat.. anyone have any advice on how to deal with major cravings? Have a good night!
Alison..when I have cravings for food that is not going to be good for me, I count my age...then I ask myself am I eating because I am stressed, sad, upset, etc. I then think of how many minutes I will have to work out to work off what I'm about to eat. If after all that thinking, I still want it...then I've made a conscious decision to eat it - not one based on emotions. Hope that helps!! Oh yeah, and I drink a glass of water and see if I"m still hungry!
I need some help!! I'm slowly starting to work my way back to being on track, but somewhere on block leave, I fell off the wagon, and I've been struggling to get back on track since!! I think I got into the mindset of "I've lost 28 lbs, I can have a cookie, piece of pizza, food food food" and it's catching upto me now! Any advice on how to get my mind back in weight loss mode/back on track?
Hi ladies! I'm back. :-) Our PCS from overseas went well..but we lived out of suitcases from July until just last weekend! Ugh! But we are all settled into our new duty station again and I am still chugging along with my weight loss efforts. I actually bought a pair of jeans in a size 10 yesterday! I could not believe it!!!
Gremlia - CONGRATS! I know how i feel when I buy a pair of pants I never fathomed I could fit into!! Glad you are all settled in now, feels good right? Any culture shock coming back to the states from overseas?
...my weight is ACTING like it MAY want to come down...after my spike, it's been slowly but surely getting back to my low, but I obviously still have some weight to lose. With DH deploying soon, I will focus on him for now - and I'm positive that weight, plus probably more, will come off when he leaves. The deployment diet always does the trick! I'm figuring I could probably lose another 20 lbs when DH is gone...time will only tell!
hey all. Checking in from our deployment briefing. Yeck. THey are explaining how to read an LES. For the third time in an hour. Yeah. This meeting wouldn't take 4 hours if they'd quit yitching everything over 3-5 times.
well I survived it at least. If I had to hear "Remember to maintain Op-Sec" one more time, or "DO NOT give your soldier any information that will distract them from the mission" I would have had to scream. Duh. We aren't kindergarteners. I mean I had a horrid, mind scarring violent miscarriage while he was in basic, and instead of telling him I simply told him the positive pg test we'd taken before he left was a false positive. I think I know how to handle myself. Yeesh.
sadly, I did see a few people acting like they just didn't get it
Actually yes..some things have been quite a shock coming back to the USA..but slowly we are adjusting again! I really like having the convience of some things again. :-) Overall I just am so happy the PCS is over with because it was awful!
Hello ladies, I have posted here once before but never really got in with this group. I would love to post here occasionally if you don't mind. My hubby just left on deployment last week and I am determine to knock his socks off when he comes home in a year. I have lost 60 pounds since I started this journey but recently with our hectic lives I have put about 15 back on. I am ready to get it back off and reach my goal. Just a bit about myself. I have been married to my soldier for 16 years we have 4 wonderful kids and I have been the FRG coordinator for about 5 years.
Well that sums it up. Hope to get to know all of you.
welcome Robbin! I am planning to do the same thing you are, knock dh's socks off when he gets home at the end of his overseas deployment. I was planning to knock his socks off at the end of his PMT this coming Friday, but that's not going to happen Oh well. More motivation to get it done before he gets home next Christmas, and before that, to at least make him speechless when the kids and I go to Georgia in February for his deployment ceremony & restricted leave time.
Hi Robbin!!! Welcome to the group, it's slowed down quite a bit since it's conception, but we still make time to check in every now and then. I've been on a downward spiral with DH's upcoming deployment. I've been binging like crazy, eating out of stress and not hunger, and oh lord it's showing. I've gained 5 pounds back, I haven't been to the gym in almost 2 months...I feel bloated and like a blob Any advice? It's like I KNOW exactly what I'm doing wrong, but the motivation to stop it - I can't find it!
