Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

:turkey: Hope you ladies will all have a fun Thanksgiving/weekend! I've been so-so with the eating the last couple of days .... but will be back on schedule next week, for sure! Many kudos to those who are adding extra exercise ... a great thing to do for body and mind. The weather has been very cold and rainy here this week, so I really should have been at the gym!

:grouphug: to all of you ladies!!! Enjoy your turkey and pie today! :D (Well, not too much ...)

A little too much at supper today. But I did not eat the birthday cake at lunch and had nothing all afternoon. So I am forgiving myself. Calories work out to be a little lower than usual. Yea me!!!!! But I am defiinitely really full. Shrunk my stomach too. Went shopping while hungry and didn't buy too many things I shouldn't have and gave all of them to the dh and kids. I bought a WW microwave meal to try for lunch. If it isn't too bad maybe I will pick up more.

Well hope you all had a great time and splurged just a little, because even dieters need some treats!!!!! Happy holidays!!!

I did it to myself again. Let the stress build up and bam!!! eating binge. I really want to kick myself. I swear watching myself is like watching a train wreck, starts off real slow then gathers momentum. Today I am buying my aerobics videos and setting up some weights. I will use these alternating days Sunday to Thursday. I will not over eat!!!! I will not over eat!!!!! Man I dislike Christmas intensely until I am ready for it. I will put out at least 3 applications for a new job in the next 2 weeks. And my children will eventually be in their 20s. Everyone grows up and my children will too. I will count my blessings daily. My dogs love me and so do my cats. My children tidied my house. Christmas only comes once a year. See life isn't so bad after all.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are having a great time where ever you are.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Well the past two days were nothing but slurge for me and it was all crappy food. My inlaws are just the most unhealthy people I have ever met and it is impossible to be healthy around them. We got there Wednesday afternoon and had planned to get pizza. I had saved enough calories and was not going to go over my limit. Well my MIL decided to have Thanksgiving dinner that night at 930pm and I usually eat at 6pm. So needless to say I snacked on chips until dinner and then was famished so I ate so so so much. Thursday was a fat laden brunch....everything is cooked in bacon grease, even the pancakes. Then tamales, refried beans, chips and queso for dinner. Yesterday I thought a new day and only a half a day there so okay I can have a banana and a glass of milk for breakfast some turkey and sweet potatoes and then we would head home. Nope we went out to Whataburger for breakfast...let's just say there were no healthy choices and then we had nachos and tamales for lunch while we watched football! Help!!!!! I did go workout this morning. I just feel like I have beaten myself up and I did exactly what I did not want to do. This is usually the point were I will give up a go back to my old ways and gain all the weight I have lost back. I know that I can do it I just don't have the will power right know. And to make matters worse I am now craving a cheeseburger for lunch.

card: You are on the right track making a plan to exercise. Try to relax and enjoy the holidays if you can...I am right there with ya!

Sojourner: Sometimes our bodies just need a little kick to lose weight! Way to go!

Post thanksgiving gear up!

Hi all:

well the last two days were pretty much feast days--I think getting on my scale would be counter-productive to say the least. so Now I need to gear up today and eat healhty and lose all the gunk that has built up in my body over the last few days! At least I stuck religiously to my exericse routine.

I have a turkey breast in the fridge waiting to be roasted and will be my main food for the next few days!

It is okay--I kept it going right up to the wire and now I must get back on track--it was kinda fun--not that fun. I am ready to stop.

Card: we must have infected you with our feast vibe--dont give up--you will get there--as you say--your family and pets love you--that is the most important thing.

Dolly; I can relate to eating all the rich food--craving a burger is the least of my worries right now--just getting away from pie is the main thing!!

Take care everyone

Hey girls ... sounds like we've all been in the same boat! Too many temptations to resist. Holidays really do a number on you. It will probably be Monday before I get back to business again. Don't be too hard on yourselves. We WILL prevail! :grouphug:

I could only find one workout tape at walmart, so I bought it. I will now be doing some kind of yoga, ballet, booty shaping thing 3 days a week, I will keep looking for others. I came home tonight and actually cooked supper and kept my portions small, then had a mini cheezie binge. But I switched over to tea before it became a major binge. And tomorrow is a brand new day. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday will be booty yoga nights and Monday and Wednesday will be weights. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.

I'm sorry to hear that a few of us may have slipped a little, but we will come back, because now there is no excuse until Christmas, we can stay strong and we have 30 days to lose a little extra so we will all look beautiful in those Christmas pictures. This is my new motivation for the week. Do I really want to be 211 in those pics??? I think not.

Hi ladies,
Well I've been no exception to the rule this weekend. I ate way to much the last three days. Non stop shopping and entertaining threw my eating patterns off completely. I ate alot of the wrong things so not expecting to loose anything tomorrow just hoping for the least amount of damage and to get back on track tomorrow. Well I'm exhausted and actually looking forward to monday. Goodnight ladies.

Started Stepping On The Scale ... It SCREAMED (I think)!

:o :yikes: So I jumped off and don't know my weight this Monday, I swear! :D

Okay, ladies, we have about four weeks until Christmas. I am trying to get my brain re-set to "DIET," but it is arguing with me .... I'll be honest! I was simply HORRIBLE last night  .... (confession time here!) As my stomach is starting to feel like an extra person sitting in front of me!!! :(

Good luck this week, everybody. Hope your Thanksgiving weekend was worth every bite .... :) To anyone who managed to NOT GAIN or who actually lost weight last week, you deserve SEVERAL medals!

Sojourner 11-27-2006 11:22 AM

Ten days.... ten whole days with my family who eats fried, processed, refined flour, cheesy, carbo-loaded, high-fat food every single meal. I even had to face two Thanksgiving meals in one day. What a challenging, frustrating week its been! But get this...

I lost two pounds since Monday!! I am down to 167.5 as of this morning.

I just cannot believe it. I am simply, absolutely, astonished. I did not pig out all week and tried to stay on my weight watchers program even with a lot of the garbage food, although I definitely went over on a number of days. Got a little bit of exercising in with short walks. I am just so relieved to be done with this extra long holiday, even though very sad to say goodbye to my sister and her family.

Snowbrocade 11-27-2006 12:30 PM

MOnday 5 weeks to go!

Well--at least we have five weeks till the end of this challenge--i have managed to get back on track but with TOM and the bloating I am experiencing I dont think weighing myself is a good idea. I am going to wait until next monday to do a weigh-in!

At least I have stuck with the exercise every day.

Markie--you are so funny! I think my scale is screaming at the idea of me stepping on it.

Card--thanks for the pep talk--we all need it! Good luck with the tapes.

Nina: a lot of us are in the same boat!

sojo: big congrats--you made it! that is so good that you were able to lose two despite all the temptations. Keep it up!

Have a good week everyone and lets get back on track--we have five weeks to go and can lose quite a bit in that time.

Sno

Afternoon ladies,
I feel like I'm doing true confessions of a middle aged diet queen here. I had to step on the scale this morning and I did gain back:nono: half a pound but it could have been alot worse. I'm determined to want to be in those christmas :hohoho: photos (thanks for that little reminder Card) so will also use this as my motivation. Awesome Sojourner:encore: Keep it up.
I'm still having knee problems. Everytime I do cardio work of any kind it takes a couple of days for the swelling to go down so I'm taking it easy again. I see another doctor on Dec. 9 so hopefully he'll be able to shed some light on why it's taking so long for the swelling to go down.
Way to go Snow.:carrot: Keeping to an exercise schedule isn't easy especially during holidays. I know i always use the excuse "I'm too busy"
during them.
Heres to getting back on track ladies:grouphug: :goodluck: :dust:

OK, brand new week, I am restarting at 212, which is what I was when I found the 3 chicks forums. So, I ate a reasonable breakfast, a reasonable lunch, minor pig out at 3:00 and will have a reasonable dinner and I WILL NOT EAT ANYTHING ELSE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I did the booty tape yesterday, not as bad as I thought it would be. Today after supper I will go and lift weights, if I can find them.

Markie - we all have those days. Put it behind you and move on. Repeat after me, my stomach does not control me.

Sojo - congratulations!!! Two more pounds, way to go.

Sno - good plan waiting to weigh. Tom can do in the best of us. Who knew water was so darn heavy.

40 - Only 1/2 a pound way to go. You'll be back on track in no time.

Get n healthy 11-27-2006 06:53 PM

Sounds like everyone had a good T-day. I had a good one considering it was at the inlaws. It is amazing how much my stomach has shrunk since our last feasting holiday. I could only eat one plate and then only seconds on dressing and a small piece of turkey...normally, i would have eat BIG seconds and then nibbled on thirds. I only had one piece of pie, used to have two. The good thing about being at the inlaws....they are health nuts, so i only pigged out that day. I am going to hold off to weigh til friday...i dont want to get myself upset. Eventhough i didnt pig out, i didnt exercise AT ALL either, so i am sure that will bite me on friday.

The big bummer is that DS was sick the WHOLE holiday...coughing up a lung the whole way to the inlaws and back (thats 16 hours total in a car with a sick, sick kid)....so guess who is tired and has a sore throat today? I just hope it doesnt ruin my workout for the week. I really want to get back to it...hopefully the chest cold wont settle in til later in the week and i can get a few workouts in.

Glad to be coming back home to my healthy eating routine. Hopefully i can get some weight off between now and Christmas.

Sojourner 11-27-2006 08:38 PM

Ok challenge chickies... time to regroup for the New Year's countdown. Anyone setting any goals for the next five weeks? I am DEFINITELY doing a December exercise challenge; my November challenge of 900 minutes did wonders for my weight loss. Will continue to work the Weight Watchers Flex Plan which I love and continue to post here. I am debating whether or not to add in weight training in December but I may wait until after the New Year.

Anyone else? What are your plans to create a thinner, healthier you by Jan 1?

Oh yeah I forgot to add that during this crazy week of family and holiday we had our family portrait taken with all sixteen of us. Man I cannot tell you how happy I was to be down fourteen pounds from just seven weeks ago. Almost had a portrait taken of just me and hubby but decided to wait until spring when I will be spectacularly thin and gorgeous!
