Still at 212 today, this is good news. I was playing with the weights last night, but I may have to look for some sort of weight lifting video just to get an idea of the best things to be doing to lose weight without injuring myself.

My plans to lose weight for the next few weeks are: WORK OUT, even when I am tired and lazy and cranky and I just don't want to. Work on the 3:00 problem. I really need a long term solution for 3:00 snack time. Everything just falls apart on my diet then. So for today I am going to drink a full litre of water at 2:30 and make a cup of coffee, which I am not allowed to do, for 2:55, and then blackmail myself, if I eat snack, I can't have the coffee. It might work.

Get n - Way to go on Turkey day. I hope you don't get the cold. We have a reallly bad flu going around here. We only had 11 kids at the daycare yesterday. The rest were out with the flu. I hope I don't get it.

sojo - keep up with the good work, you will be looking great for the Christmas photos.

Well we are expecting our first winter storm here for the next 36 hours. anywhere from 4 inches to a foot of snow. I may get stuck at work, this would not be good. Have a great day one and all.

Okay so the past six days are behind me. I am starting off new. If only you girls knew what I ate...I can't believe I ate that much. I didn't weigh in this Monday, way to scared to see what the scale has to say so I am waiting until next monday. This morning I jumped on for a peak and then jumped right back off. Sojourner you mentioned if any of you had December goals here are mine...

1. Back to calories counting...I sorta stopped to see if I could do it on my own...not a chance...must log all food eaten

2. Have a healthy mix of food...fruit, veggies, dairy, lean meats, and whole wheat carbs

3. Cardio 6 days a week and weights 2-3 times a week.

4. NO unplanned SNACKING

5. WATER, WATER, WATER

Also I made a little worksheet and put in on my bathroom mirror. It has an exercise log, I am thinking when I see this it will keep me on track and motivated.

I didn't want to check in until the end of the day because I wanted to be able to say I was good ALLL day. I'm happy to report today has been an awesome day as far eating goes. :carrot: I've gone vegetarian for hopefully a full week. I'm getting close to that TOM so want to keep fluid retention under control because it's agravating the sprained knee. That's pretty much my plan for this week. I'm going to follow the rice diet for as long as possible,
take it easy after work, and hope I can still loose without doing cardio.
I hope your feeling alright Stacy. There's been a nasty cold/flu bug going around my neck of the woods. Keep to those plans ladies I know we can do it.

Good night

Nina

I'm at 210 this morning. Yesterday was good, I had a few minor slip-ups, 3:00 of course, but I kept it under control. And white chocolate covered oreos. But the kids have finished the bag and I will not be buying anymore. Man are those good!!! and I am not particularly fond of oreos. I did my yoga booty ballet. cd 2 was much harder than cd1, thankfully I've only opted to do that one on Tuesdays. I am hoping to use the weights tonight.

dolly - great goals!!!

40 - rest that knee and I hope it gets better soon.

Well off to work I go, or at least to get ready for work. Wishing you all a very successful day.

Good Morning Chicks,

Well good news to report yesterday was finally a great day all around. Exercise and eating healthy all day. I did struggle last night at around 830pm and was hungry. So I had some water and then straigtened the house a bit. I did not stay in the kitchen long, but that candy bowl with M&Ms was calling my name. I just said no and moved it to the corner coffee table.

40: Congrats on the great day! I know what an accomplishment that can be.

card:
Great job on your workout! Same here I sent my DH to work with cookies from a work party to get them out of my house.

Get n healthy 11-29-2006 12:01 PM

Good morning. Well i finally got my house clean, spent most of my morning doing that, after putting up the tree and a present wrapping session last night which included a 7 year olds help, :present: so needless to say, it was a mess this morning.

I am doing really well getting back into my healthy eating pattern, i am actually surprised i am transitioning back so smoothly, usually it takes a long time if i have had a several days off plan. I was really hungry last night. I didnt cave though. I would sort of wonder through the house, make my way to the kitchen and then turn around and go find something to do...i think it was a cross between bordom and being hungry...very dangerous mix for me. I mustered up the courage to weigh this morning and i am only up 3 pounds from ticker weight, which sounds bad but considering how much peanut brittle i ate AND the regular feasting AND no exercise AND TOM only a day away...i am VERY pleased with only being 3 pounds from ticker. Hopefully it will keep coming down in that direction and i will be even closer or at it by friday. Did i mention how much peanut brittle i ate, oh my gosh. :yikes: My son makes THE BEST macadamia/peanut brittle and once i have a bite....forget it...i can eat half of the bag...ok, i DID eat half the bag.

Dolly- I can relate to those MM's at 8:30 last night. Good for both of us for fighting the kitchen cravings last night. And extra good for you for getting right back on track with exercise and everything. :carrot: I have been slacking in the exercise...i have sinusitis or something with a sore throat and i didnt want to push the cardio too much...i am trying to keep this cold out of my chest. You have some great goals listed, lets see how much we can knock out before the end of the year.

Card- Wow, already back down to 210, that is great. And with that exercising it will get even lower in no time.

Nina- Good for you for having such an on plan day. :cp: That knee trouble must be driving you mad. Thanks for the concern about my cold...i am hanging in there. Its all in my head and throat right now...but it has attacked my sons chest with a vengence...nonstop coughing...i am not looking forward to that part of it. Hopefully i can keep it at sinusitis and not bronchitis.

Sojo- Sounds like you have a great plan to slide on in to new years with. I think my main goal is going to be :drill: NO SWEETS until Christmas. Back when i didnt eat sweets, even on splurge day is when i was dropping pounds the best. So i have had my apple and pumpkin pie and i can just do without until the 25th.

Well i guess that is it for now. Hope you all have a great day with full strides toward your goals.

Snowbrocade 11-29-2006 04:26 PM

Hey guys!

Hi all:

well--I dodint mean to go awol but thats how it goes. I had an okay thanksgivign and went back on plan last saturday and sunday, then I had a rough two days of tom and did not do well with the food at all--I am avoiding the scale like the plague.

the good part is that I have kept exercising no matter what--I have walked 30 mnutes a day since Nov 12 and I have stretched every day for 15 minutes and done calisthenic every other day. So I have kept that part of the bargain.

I am feeling better today and ready to get back on plan for tomorrow. I plan to do low carb Thurs-sun and then count calories Mon-thurs. back to my usual alternating plan. My next big hurdle is my birthday on Dec 16 which is 2. 5 weeks away and my goal is to be 235 by then--I dont know how much I have packed on by now but I should be able to get it off pretty quickly low carbin it and exercising!

What the hey--it happens. I guess I was not the only one.

anyway--sounds like everyone is doing good--you are all inspiring me--plus remember I said that all my pants were baggy? well the next size down of my fave pants are waiting for me in my closet and they are just a hair too tight--so I need to get this weight down so I can wear them for my b-day!

Stacy: great job with only being up 3lbs--I applaud your bravery. No way am I going to weigh myself after the damage of the last two days. I bet your house looks so nice with all the decorations!

dolly: good job on getting back on plan--and with your victory over m&m's!

card: you are doing great--you stuck with it and you got your motivation! good job on the two pounds.

Nina: great job--sometimes doing vegetarian can be really freeing!

Sojo: thanks for cheerleading us--and you did so great on thanksgiving--it is my goal to that well next year!

take care everyone and keep me posted!

Still at 210, this is really good news since tom is approaching. I still am having a 3:00 problem, yesterday was not a good one, but other than that my eating is going well. I didn't work out with the weights yesterday but I walked to work AND home yesterday in -29 weather. With about 40 extra pounds of clothes in wind. So I figured that was a good enough work out.

dolly - great work getting back on track. And way to go on the m&m's. You are strong.

get n - I can sympathize with the boredom factor, it is also a really bad trigger for me. Boredom and stress are my worst binge triggers. I'm very jealous that you are so ready for Christmas, I haven't even started yet. 3 pounds isn't that bad, you'll lose it in no time.

Snow - way to go on the exercise!!!! It is one of the hardest things to keep up and you did it.

dollypie 11-30-2006 11:42 AM

Good morning chicks,

Okay so it finally feels like winter in Texas. Last night we had the air conditioning on because it got up to 82 and this morning turned on the heater it was 35. I'm telling you the weather changes while blinking your eyes. Card you are Wonder Woman for walking in that kind of weather. That is crazy. Then again I pull out my winter coat when it gets in the 50s.

Yesterday was good eating wise. I had planned to have two slices of thin and crispy pizza for dinner and stuck to it. I had a salad before hand and actually was full by the end. I didn't even reach for another piece, I put the leftovers in the refrigerator. Made it to the gym in the crazy cold weather this morning, others were scarce. A friend down the road was actually there (she comes once every two weeks or so), it was a nice change to talk to someone while on the ellipitical. Let me just say I think I got a better workout because I was winded in the end.

Sno: Sounds like you are getting back on track which is good. Keep those pants in mind for motivation!

40 before 40 11-30-2006 01:37 PM

Afternoon ladies,

Sounds like everyones getting back on track. Way to go ladies. This vegetarian rice diet is working wonders. I'm into day three and starting to feel pretty good. I've followed it almost to a tee. Yesterday I felt horrible in the afternoon. Headache, grumpy, and a bit sick all over, but by 7:00 in the evening sympoms had all passed. Today I'm feeling better than I have since spraining my knee. Almost all swelling is gone and I'm flying up and down stairs. I'm going to try eating this way until Dec. 9 (first xmas party). I'm not hungry and most cravings are gone (still want java in the am). I'm taking these drastic measures because of the Christmas rush which was over taking me. I love christmas but lets face it, it's a whole lot of work even when you're100% so I was feeling abit sorry for myself last weekend. By pulling up my socks, so to speak, and eating properly I know I can get it all done and still be in the spirit of the season.
Dollypie I can't imagine putting my bair conditioner on in Nov.Good job with the workout and sticking to your eating plan. Left over pizza calls to me later in the evening ... I'm lucky I have a teenage son so rarely have leftovers.
Card that cold weather is coming my way sometime overnight so will definately think of you when i'm talking myself out of going outside tomorrow.
The birthday goal is great Sno. You'll be in those pants. Iknow it.
Stacy already wrapping your way ahead of my schedule. Awesome your back on track so smoothly.

Must go check on my sleeping darlings,

Nina

Sojourner 11-30-2006 03:22 PM

Oh its really COLD today! Brrrrrr... this morning went out with puppy and it was only about 20 degrees but with the windchill it was only 9! Gosh my fingers were frozen even with gloves. Walked for 15 minutes and that was enough. That is just way too cold. Gee I can't wait until mid-January when it will be minus 10 below 0.

jcatron243 11-30-2006 03:57 PM

HI guys. Its been a while but I just wanted to say hi and I am finally down a pound!!! 163!!!! I hope to be in the 150's soon!

Get n healthy 11-30-2006 08:39 PM

Hello all, I have my weigh in in the morning. I am hoping for progress BUT either way i am happy with what i have done this week. I stayed under my max in calories for 4 days in a row and didnt even do that bad over the weekend either. I did great with my water. The only thing that needs improvement is my exercise but this cold is beating me down a bit right now...up on the couch coughing all night last night. YUCK. (and that was on Nyquil) But anyway, so i feel good even if the scale doesnt reflect my efforts. I got TOM today so i am not betting on good results from the scale but at least i can know i have done well.

Sno- I am so proud of you for sticking to your exercising for that long. :bravo: That is quite an accomplishment.

Jeni- Good job on one pound down. :cp: You will be in the 50's in no time.

Sojo- Man, that is cold to be out with the puppy. We were 72 today...which i hate to say, :o gets on my nerves, i like a fire in my fire place with the Christmas tree is up...hard to feel Christmasie when its 72 outside. ha ha.

Nina- Glad your rice diet is working for you. I know that knee must be worse with cold weather.

Dolly- I admire your devotion to the gym...i have been SUCH a slacker. :( You inspire me to get back at it as soon as this cold is out of my lungs.

Card- Walking to work in that kind of weather...now that is determination. ;) Oh the 3 pm snack...it bites me a lot. :cookie:

Ok, time to go find out why my little angels are so quiet.

card 12-01-2006 08:39 AM

209!!!!!!! This is the weight I started this challenge at. I have at least gotten back to where I started. I am not letting stress overwhelm me. I have a plan to get my house decorated, a plan to get my shopping done. And I have given up on the work party because they refuse to make a plan. That stress is now done. I didn't work out again yesterday but I walked for 40 minutes, in the cold, with my extra clothing, through drifts. I'm sure it counts as an aerobic and weight work out. My legs and back are sure hurting by the end of it.

dolly - you are going to be my inspiration for my pizza dinner tonight, two slices, no more. I am making less than I usually do, so I am really hoping dh and kids finish it off. No leftovers means no munching later. I usually make 3 pizzas for 5 of us and that way there is some to snack on later, this time I am only making 2.

40 - glad to hear you are back on track, feeling better, and that I am not the only one stressing christmas. I am skipping both work christmas parties this year, dh's and my own. The parties are as much stress as getting everything ready.

sojo - I can sympathize with the cold, I walk to work, I usually suck and whine, and get a ride home, but for the last 2 days I have been trying to walk both ways.

jcatron - way to go on the pound down. Every pound is a challenge at this time of year.

get n - great staying on track!!!! Good luck on the weigh-in!!!! I hope you are feeling better soon.

Off to get ready for work. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

dollypie 12-01-2006 10:31 AM

Good morning all!

Well made it to the gym even though it was super cold outside today, our first hard freeze. DH built a fire in the fireplace it was so cool because it was the first time in our new house. We sat on the couch and watched the fire and drank hot tea after dinner. It is suppose to freeze for the next 3 nights so that will hopefully kill all of the mosquitoes. We have friends coming to town this weekend and I am making big pot of chili, lowfat of course. And instead of eating it over Fritos, I am also going to make some brown rice for the health conciouse people, me.

Card: :congrat: on getting back to 209! Have a great time shopping, I think I am doing that on Sunday afternoon.

Get n healthy: I am sure you will the scale go down. Just get back to the gym you know you miss it....hahahaha

jcatron243 and Sojourner: Howdy!

40 before 40: Do tell about your vegetarian rice diet.
