TRACEY... CONGRATS on the 3 pound loss! That's GREAT!!!:cp: :bravo: :hat: :cb:
LINDA... Yah, it's amazing how inconsiderate and cruel people can be. I went back to read a thread where someone had asked me how I was doing, and another lady plopped her post in and gave me her opinion. She told me that I have full control over my situation, should put myself first, and that two weeks ago it was very hot for her too, but that she just still did her exercise and got through it. She said that you can do anything to set your mind to, and did I need her to throw some ice at me, but what she's not thinking about is that she's already 72 pounds less than me to begin with, so maybe she can handle the heat a little better than me. Maybe I'm just taking things a little more personal right now, but I really think that her comments were cruel and rude, and I won't post there again.:( TINA... You have been a very busy girlie, but hoping you will be able to stop and make a visit here with us tomorrow! |
Evening Ladies...Sorry I was MIA yesterday, just under a lot of stress and in a rotten mood. I pretty much stayed cooped up in my sewing rooom with the door locked, music on and sewed on my quilt. Fairy Fat mother paid me a visit this morning, I'm down 1.2lbs.
Louie...What a nice surprise for you at work, flowers and dinner. Bet that put a smile on your face.:D Michelle...My heart goes out to you. Don't feel guilty, just know that your Mom will get the care she needs and it should give you some peace of mind and maybe a little less stress. I don't blame you for not exercising in the heat. I don't handle heat well either. You can exercise your arms though, sit in front of the air conditioner, reach for a nice glass of ice tea and bring up to your mouth. Repeat as often as necessary!:beach: Linda...Hope your migrain is gone and the weather is sunny. We had terrible storms on Friday, with tornados only 10 miles away. Shawn...Don't you dare feel guilty. We all have slipped, and will probably slip again. You are here, and it shows that you are committed. Go back to page 12 and read the positive things that we should say to ourselves each day. It's what I learned at last weeks WW meeting. Ryanmi...WHOOHOO!!! Isn't the fairy fat mother nice. Great job girl!! Erin...Can't wait to see the pics of your new furniture. Tracey...Congrats on the fairy fat mother visiting you as well. 3 pounds is awesome, girl! Small changes will do the trick. Tina,Tina, Tina....I have lots of windows you can clean and cobwebs that have house guests. As they say on The Price Is Right, come on Down. Well ladies, I can hardly keep my eyes open and have to get up early to take FD to volleyball camp. Have a good evening and I'll see you tomorrow. Cheryl |
Good morning Ladies!!! Hope this monday finds you feeling good and enjoying life!!! I have a busy week ahead of me but am looking forward to tackling it with energy i am going to have to find somewhere!!:dizzy: Ya'll got any you can float my way!!! Whew! Good weekend but still so much to do! Glad to say though ticker is down another 3 pounds. Was actualy 4 yesterday but was up a little this morning so recorded that. I can tell in clothing that things are changing everywhere but in my waist. I have a particular style of shorts I am kind of using as my success meter and the rest of them have gotten much looser but the waist is still very tight and they are 26 where i have gotten into some 24 shirts and pants??? Very frustrating, guess i need to get back to WATP for abds and hit it pretty hard if i want that to change. Have to admit I am getting kind of weirded out. The lowest I have been in about 5-6 years has been 247 and that is just 10 pounds away. I am a pro at self sabotage and have been fearing hitting that point and actually being successful at this whole weight loss thing. Which by no means is that at my ultimate goal, but I guess i never really thought that goal was attainable so i didn't really see myself getting there. Now I am beginning to think that may be possible and that really freaks me out!!!! I don't know how to function as a smaller person! Okay really weird I know just ignore me and go on!!!
Ryanmi - :carrot: :cb: YEAHHHH!!! wow that is just great! I am excited for you! Just think the longer you are off the steroids the more you can get off. You are doing great! You must have been posting same time as me yesterday cause i didn't see yours until this morning. Just wanted you to know i was not ignoring you yesterday! So what did you get at Target? Louie - I am more relaxed just reading your post you sound so calm and I am so frazzled!!! Have a friend from New Orleans that may be coming by with her 4 kids later today, lots of cleaning still to do and hove to do some of that work that earns me money too! Lots of little projects before I leave for PA too. I will suck off some of your calm and use it to get me through the day! Michelle - I feel your pain, our 100 degree days were last week we have cooled off to the upper 80's low 90's at present and that has seeme to help my feelings a little. I agree 80 is my limit for sure, i really like 70 with a cool breeze if i want to do anything while i am outside. Hope you have a good time together with hubby today! Glad to hear your conversations with Mom have been a little calmer! Linda - Sorry to hear you are still having bad weather. We seemed to miss all the showers yesterday somehow. That was supposed to be our day of highest chances too. Oh well. All my missing of meals due to being too busy caught up with me yesterday, I could have eaten the house!!!! I did have a Di Giorno frozen pizza with wheat crust. It was pretty good, still a lot more fat and calories than i would like but at least it wasn't regular which would have been worse on the blood sugar. By the way thanks for the explaination on the elevate blood sugar a few posts ago. That really made sense and helped explain a lot! Tracey - :carrot: :carrot: YEAHHHHH!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!!! Three pounds is fantastic!!! I am so glad for you. Seems like whenever you fall of the wagon just subtle changes can have a huge effect and that gets you motivated to keep going. I know you are going to do this just keep at it one step at a time!!! Tina - so are you as sore as I am from cleaning and moving??? I do love that feeling of having it all done though. Cheryl - :cb: :cb: WOO HOOO YEAH!!!!! Fairy fat mother has really been making her rounds this weekend! Glad to see she stopped by your house too! Sorry to hear about the bad mood though. Sounds like you were very productive with it though and yeah on not eating your way through it! Glad to hear the tornadoes missed you!! I am always paranoid about them. Knock on wood, since i have been in my current house we have missed all major weather out breaks! Hope you have a better day today! Well girls gotta run, the day is already getting away from me and it is only 7:05!! Hope ya'll have a great day and do what works for you! |
Good morning, ladies! Gosh, I feel like I haven't checked in ages. We had a busy weekend, though, and I just never got around to it. My stepkids are spending their 2 summer weeks with their mom and my kids are spending their 6 summer weeks with their dad so DH and I had the weekend all to ourselves! It was great. What that led to, though, was being out a whole lot, so eating out several times, and while my choices weren't as bad as they used to be, they still weren't great. The scales were up this morning and that leads me to my next question. Since I haven't been paying close attention to my weight I don't have this answer for myself. I'm about 4-5 days from my time of the month. I've noticed that my chest is starting to get that heavy, slightly tender feeling. Do you all actually show a weight gain right before you start....or is it just a failure to drop any weight? Or does it not affect you at all. I don't want to just write off some of the eating I did this weekend....(like yesterday I made brownies...with Splenda...but instead of 1 I had 3...DARN IT!)....but I'm wondering if the slight upwards movement on the scale could have more to do with my time of the month that with my eating.... Is that just hopeful thinking???? haha Anyway, I know that everyone is different but I would just like to know how it affects your weight. I'm going to now wait to move my ticker until I'm finished just to be certain.
I'm getting ready to head out of town for a few days and may not check in. I'll be at my dad's house so I'll have the capability if I find some time. So if I don't, talk to you guys on Friday....Have a great week!!!!           I think that's one for each of you!!!! Tricia |
Good morning girls. Once again I couldn’t seem to find the time to get on the computer over the weekend. Maybe one of these days I will figure out how to fit in some down time into my weekends. I appreciate all of the congrats for the 1 pound I was down on Friday but now everyone can take their congrats back. It didn’t stay down. I am back to 237 so good thing I didn’t move the ticker. Gonna try to fit in some quick personals before I gotta clock in, if I miss you please do not be offended.
Tracy – Congrats on the 3 pounds. WOW that is a big loss. You can do this just remember to keep coming here and posting. Louie – I bet you feel better now testing is over. I will keep my fingers crossed for you to get excellent marks. Michelle - I can’t ever figure out why people have to be rude to others when they are already feeling down. We are here for you and will listen to your worries about your mom, we may not have advice that really helps but know we care. Shawn – My advice that I seem to give to anyone that falls off and disappears for a bit. No matter how you are doing just do not stop posting. I would have fell off the wagon a long time ago if I had not kept posting. Anytime I am down these ladies bring me back up. It doesn’t matter if I go on and on about how I feel they listen and then give me a good kick in the rear. We are here for you tell us about your ups and downs. Ryanmi – YAY for you on the 2.2 pounds, you deserve a good loss. I know it has been rough on you with the steroids. Keep going. Erin – New furniture seems to perk up the whole house. It even makes the clutter seem not so bad to me. We got new Living Room furniture in January and wow it made the house look so much better. I can’t wait to see pics. Congrats on the 3 pounds. I know if feels great. Linda- please sprinkle a little extra dust my way I think I might be in a tough spot. I have slacked off on my water intake and also on keeping close count on the calories. I need to get myself back in gear. Tina – Sounds like you had a busy weekend, I did too. Now I am jealous of your clean house, I can never find enough time to really get mine clean. Cheryl – Hope the visit from the FFM helped put you in a better mood. Did you get lots done on the quilt? Congrats on the 1.2. Tricia – Must be nice to have a house all to yourselves, I fear I will not know that feeling for about another 14 years. LOL On the TOM question, I always show about a 1 pound gain right before. Well girls got to get to work |
Good Morning Ladies :carrot:
Today marks the beginning of my week of holidays before I go back to work...oh what will I do ?!?!? Hubby and I are leaving tomorrow morning to head up island for an evening and do some golfing, other then that I will probably just relax. I also pulled out some tole painting projects that I was working on last time I had a break from school and so I will endeavor to get those finished. Michelle ~ hope you were able to relax and stay cool yesterday. It was a hot one here as well, but the fan in the bedroom helped me at least get a good nights sleep. Enjoy your monday :D Meowee ~ not sure what I was thinking when I posted yesterday.. obviously I wasn't !! I meant to type out east and typed out west.. DOH !! We have actually been having very warm weather.. no storms for us. Glad to hear that you have been able to ward off those migraines !! Tracey~ yahoooo 3 lbs is awesome. You should be very proud of yourself for making some changes and sticking with them. Tina ~ another busy weekend for you. Sounds like we are having similar weather, although I am sure that it is warmer there. We at least get abit of the ocean breeze here. Cheryl ~ sorry to hear about your bad mood, but it gave you a day to yourself to work on your quilt. How is it going, you must be close to done? Congratulation on your FFM visit..whoohooo !!! Erin ~ yahooooey 3 lbs kicked to curb.. well done !!! It is funny that you should say that my posts are calming. That is actually one of my stronger personality traits that seems to really work for me in both my personal and work life.. so I am glad that it comes through in my posts ;) Tricia ~ sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with hubby. It is nice to get the chance to just spend time together. Hubby and I don't have kids, but even for us it is hard to find those times to just spend together.. so kudos to you !! I wouldn't worry too much about a slight gain due to TOM... I know that the scale generally shows a gain for me then. Enjoy your week away  Robbin ~ ahh the dreaded scale demon got ya... down 1 up 1. Not to worry you will get him back !! Did we ever decide on a group challenge ?? Shawn, Ryanmi and Liza ~ hope that you are treating yourselves well and had an enjoyable weekend  Well gals the coffee is calling my name, so I am off to endulge. Ciao :D |
Morning everybody . . . it's STILL raining. :(
The work project is on hold for a few days again . . . but that probably just means that July will be a terror of activity. Also, I made the mistake of getting on the scale this morning instead of waiting until wwi (Wednesday weigh-in) and it says I've gained 3.6 pounds in 5 days. Obviously that is impossible since I have been good with the eating so it must be www (weird water weight) from too much salt or something. Just hope it's gone again by Wednesday. Anyway, just to let you know this is not shaping up to be one of my better days. :( TINA . . . Wow, you are a lean, mean, cleaning machine, girl. If you run out of things to clean, just let me know. MICHELLE . . . It's hard not to take things like that personally but sometimes things do seem to come out differently when they are printed than the way they are really meant. Hopefully she really didn't mean to be cruel to you. CHERYL . . . Sorry you were having a bad day, but CONGRATULATIONS on the F-F-M visit, and at least you put your bad mood to constructive use. ERIN . . . CONGRATULATIONS on your loss, too. Know exactly what you mean about the self-sabotage. We all seem to practice that from time to time. Hopefully we can all get through it together. TRICIA . . . Tickers are not meant to go to the left . . . at least not unless you are absolutely positive it is for real. So many things can make us retain water . . . TOM (even at my age) . . . a little extra salt . . . hot, humid weather . . . too little water intake. My guess is that you can expect it to disappear again just as mysteriously as it arrived. ROBBIN . . . You've probably just got a little www, too., but here's your private dose of dust, just to be sure. :dust: Some interesting stats for today's FFF . . . In one year, the average person consumes . . . 100 pounds of refined sugar . . . 55 pounds of fats and oils . . . 300 cans of soft drinks . . . 200 sticks of gum . . . 18 pounds of candy . . . 5 pounds of potato chips . . . 7 pounds of popcorn . . . 63 dozen doughnuts . . . 50 pounds of cakes and cookies . . . 20 gallons of ice cream. Have a good day, gang. Keep moving and shaking and moving in the great downward direction. Stay cool and I'll see you soon. :carrot: Here's some :dust: for the rest of us. |
Sorry, LOUIE  Looks like you were posting while I was digging for FFF's. Glad to hear your weather is better than I thought it was. :D Have a good week of doing as little as possible. You deserve it.

I'm back.... sort of....
 Hey ladies,
Boy have I missed all of you!   Would you believe I just got my replacement monitor two days ago! Heck, it took them three weeks just to send the empty box needed for shipping them the defectived monitor. I was first having the problems with the monitor blacking out periodically, but then it just went out all together :( I hated being without my pc. I have to admit I have slacked a lot in the exercise department... it's so easy to do when there is no one to be accountable to and I've been spending a lot of time outdoors too.... however, I have been maintaining my weight loss, so I suppose that's something. I have only fluctuated 2 - 3 lbs. while I've been MIA. :carrot: So what has everyone been up to? ...catch me up! :welcome3: to any and all newcomers... and Congrats to any losses and NSV's! :cheer: This last month has had it's ups and downs. My S.O. was 15 ft. away when he witnessed a good friend and co-worker be electricuted to death on the job. He felt responsible because he was the supervisor in charge and could do nothing to help the guy... so he was really affected by it and had to seek counseling to get through it. It has only been in the last week or so that he has finally started to come around to his usual self... it was rough. :( Now, for my other news, which will keep me busy for the next month or so. I SOLD MY HOUSE :dancer: Now the real work starts... more to pack... I have some things I've packed already and has been sitting in my garage since I put my home on the market more then a year ago. I've been here 8 years but thank goodness I've already gotten rid of a lot of stuff. I will get back into the swing of things here just as soon as I get things settled... In the meantime I will be checking in with you guys, but it may not be as often as I'd like until after the move. Wish me luck! :goodluck: :grouphug: |
:woo: Welcome Back LOIS :woo: We have missed you. Glad you finally got things straightened out with the computer vendor. Congratulations on selling the house. So sorry about the trouble in the workplace for your hubby. Stuff like that can be really hard to shake. The move will be good therapy for both of you. Not much time to think about the sad stuff. Rest assured everybody around here will be happy for as much time as you can spare us. See you soon, girl.
|
Just a quick  and welcom back Lois. I am so happy to see you are back. Sorry to hear about the deal with hubby but am happy to hear you have maintained.
|
Howdy ladies, mid day check in and lots going on!
Tricia - all that alone time with hubby sounds wonderful, makes it hard to go to work monday morning! Lately i just dont' lose around that time but sometimes if i am not real careful on my eating i wll gain. I have very irregular periods though so who knows what is causing what in my body! Robbin - Don't worry about the back up one pound, it will be gone again in no time, if you have slacked off on your water that may be a lot of it. I will always drop a quick pound or two if i drink more water. try to get a breather in there sometime! Louie - enjoy the days off, they are well deserved. I have never been a golfer but my husband took it up for while. Hope you have a great day out with hubby! Linda - have you started on the ark yet???? Hope you don't float away with all the rain you are getting! I am sure the wwww(weird water weight witch, evil twin of the fairy fat mother) goes packing real soon, maybe since there is so much wet outside you are not able to evaporate as much fluid out of you. We just need to funnel you some sunshine and dry you out! By the way on the FFF my consumption could be added up to about 60 gallons of ice cream and not so much of the other! Lois - HOWDY LADY!!!! so glad to see you again! I get so frustrated dealing with computer problems sometimes i can't imagine waiting 3 weeks for an empty box!!!!! How infuriating is that! Well glad you finally got it and things seem to be working fine now. Fantastic on the maintaining weight loss while you were gone, that is huge! Wow what a tragedy for you and your co-workers, such a helpless feeling, glad to hear your SO is coming around, it must really be a struggle for all of you! Congrasts on selling the house! I don't envy you having to pack! It's been about 3-4 years since my last move and i still have flashbacks now and then! all the loading and unloading will be good exercise though. Where are you moving to, have you bought another house? Fill us in! Well ya'll enjoy the rest of the day may see you later but definitely in the am! |
The heat is horrible here today! On the 5 oclock news, they said someone called in from a town that is 15 miles south of us, and reported it was 118F!!!:yikes:
|
Good Evening All...
Ok...I have to confess right off the bat-I had such a lousy day at work that I sat right down in the middle of the office with the remains of a carton of Edys Slow Churn Double Fudge Brownie Ice Cream, and ate the rest of it(we keep Ice Cream and Low Cal Snacks in the freezer at work)! Screw the rest of my office, I just stuck my spoon right in the carton and went to town!!! :moo: And afterwards, I have to admit, I felt 100% better! We are in the process of switching banks at work, and I spent the day dealing with nothing but problems with credit card terminals, computers, etc...add to that staff screw-ups, and TOM, and well...I deserved that ice cream! Good news tho, is that it was probably about 350 cals total! I had a light dinner to make up for it...:) Louie, it sounds like you are getting a well-deserved vacation. I am NOT a golfer, but, I drive an excellent golf cart! :D Tricia, Sounds like you had a great weekend-good for you! It's TOM over here too...maybe I lost more that I thought?? Heehee...;) Cheryl, I've been in a rotten mood the past few days too...with the exception of the ice cream! I usually just stay away from everyone else and try to take a nap-seems like that helps! Hope you are feeling better! Tina, I LOVE when my house is clean! I have to admit that I am not home enough to clean properly, so I have a cleaning service come in once a week:sssh: ...they come in Thursdays, so Thursday nights when I get home, I come in to the smell of cleaning supplies and everytjing is perfect...at least until I wreck it all! Michelle, I agree with Linda in that sometimes email comes off far from what the intenjded meaning originally was-that said, what that woman may have meant as a joke didn't seem all that funny to me...screw that bunch! They sound like a bunch of jerks! Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better-I've been that exact place, and it is hard to deal with the emotions and the idea of "never being able to do enough"-I still deal with it today, so I know that it being "fresh" is even more difficult...hang in there-things will get better! Erin, Yeah, I didn't go to Target. By the time I took a shower and read the news, I watched a bit of Food Network and ended up taking a nap! LOL!! Probably better-I usually spend too much when I go there anyway!! There is always something I just have to have, you know... Robbin, big deal w/the one pesky pound...I'm still congratulating you anyway! It will probably be gone tomorrow! :goodscale Linda, sorry you had a not so good day-we all know how I solved that one! :eating2: :( :D Hope things are leveling out for you and that your www is down by Weds! :crossed: Tracey- Woo Hoo on the 3lbs!! That's Awesome!! :bravo: Lois- Welcome Back- and congrats on selling the house! I just moved in January, and I feel your pain over the dreaded clean out and pack! Good Luck!!! It will all be worth it! :goodluck: Shawn...Hi there-where are you? Hopefully not over run w/kids! :stars: Ok...I must go to bed! Tomorrow is another day...hopefully it will be better than today! :flow2: |
Hey ladies...another one of those days. But I just wanted to check in to let you all know that I'm still here and thinking of you all. It's been extremely hot here (well for me anyways, for some of you it may be peanuts) 32 degrees is about enough to take the life outta me! LOL! I looked online to check to see what Hong Kong was...29 but felt like 43 degrees! Yikes! I'm going to the splash park again tomorrow to try and keep cool with my daughter. Sorry for not getting around to personals but all I feel like doing is vegging out in cool tub of water. I'll see you tomorrow!
Welcome back LOIS!! Nice to see you back again, I sure missed you! So sorry to hear of what you're S.O. has gone through. That sure had to be life altering for him. So scary. I hope he is able to deal with it healthfully with some councelling. ~Tina |
Hello...
Erin...:bravo: :dancer: :woo: on your 3 pounds the FFM took. I also find it hard to see a thinner person when I look in a mirror. Heck, I even find it hard to look at pictures of myself 20 years ago when I was 100 plus thinner. I think we just need to keep telling ourselves that we are getting thinner and are worthy to be fit and healthy. Tricia...Yes you can gain water weight just before your montly. It is usually gone in a couple of days. Just watch your salt intake. Robbin...Yes I'm in a better mood and I got lots done on the quilt. Did you have a chance to look at it? Louie...Have a great trip with Hubby and golfing. How did the tole painting go? Yes, I'm almost done with the quilt. Only one more row of kids, then I have to decide to either send it to the quilters or go ahead and do all of the french knots for the hair and eyes on the kids. Linda...Nasty scale! Give it a swift kick and up your water intake for a few days. I'll send the FFM your way. Loved you FFF for today. Lois...Welcome back! Boy have a missed you!! Congrats on maintaining and for selling the house. You will have plenty to keep you busy, won't have to worry about exercising, you'll get a workout just packing and cleaning. Sorry about hubby's troubles. Glad he was able to get help with counseling. Loosing a friend is always tough, and worse when you feel responsible. Hugs to you both. Michelle...Did you follow my advice? Are you sitting by the air conditioner and doing you arm exercise with a nice glass of ice tea. At 100 plus, I'd be sitting next to it stark naked!!:yikes:  Well we are not 100 degrees, more like 85 with humidity, so I won't complain. Got up early to give the house a quick once over before it got too hot and I was still sweating buckets! Layed out another row of kids and got the body parts sewed down. I have a couple of early appoinments with the FD tomorrow and another meeting in the afternoon for myself, so don't know if I will find the time to sew the kids clothes down. Only one more row left to do. YIPPIE!!! You ladies have a great evening and a good day tomorrow. Cheryl |
CHERYL... Yes, I did follow your instructions, but with it close to 118F, that isn't even helping, and believe me, I've already threatened my family that I'm going to be runnin around naked here pretty soon!!!:nono: :fr: :stress: :censored: :hyper: :sp: :yikes:

Hello Ladies!
Hope it's okay for me to jump in and join you! I've been a member here and moderator for awhile now and have lost and regained some pounds and it's time for me to get serious again. My name is Michelle and I'm a Student, a mother, a wife and the sales and marketing director for a hotel. I also do the bookeeping for another hotel. I have two little girls and a great husband. I also have a few health challenges (hypothyroid and I have pulmonary sarcoidosis) Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all and losing some pounds together. Michelle |
Morning girls! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods and things are cooling off and drying out for those of you suffering from weather woes. I am doing well and getting ready for vacation. I actually have a few sewing projects I am planning on working on when i get home from work today. Finally got the bedroom completely settled and saw the full picture! :D Loved it, but didn't get the camera out before kids took over and everything was everywhere. I will get it cleaned up again and get some pics soon!
Michelle - OH MY GOD!!!!! :o :o I would die at 118 degrees, I would be a little blob on the floor! How are you coping?? Breathing would make me sweat! Hope you have a good AC and are able to take it easy until things cool off! Just read your response to Cheryl and I agree take it off and be comfortable!!! :D Ryanmi - I know what you mean!! I have done that so many times, especially with ice cream! There is just something comforting about the smooth creamy feel of ice cream going down that eases the soul. The calorie count does not sound so damaging though! Sorry to hear that work is not letting up for you! :( Was your early day friday helpful? Avoiding the shopping was probably good. Something about eating healthy makes me want to buy more stuff! Tina - hope you are cooling off:o and doing well. Must be getting a good tan with all this outside time! Can you help me again on the conversion what is 32 celcius in farenheit? Cheryl - thanks for the congrats! glad to hear your mood is better and only one more row of kids, you'll have to post us an "in progress" picture! Our weather is breaking a little today so I'm not going to complain either, but I love your advice to Michelle! Micehllerae - Welcome:welcome: :balloons: and we look forward to getting to know you, seems like you have a busy life! We love new members! well girls gotta run, going to try to get a little closet cleaning done before it's time to get kids and hubby up for an early appointment. I pray for a wonderful day for all of you!!!!! Erin:carrot: |
Good morning ladies, I am really behind time this morning. (seems like I am always running late) I will definitely try to get back here later on today for personals, but for now I just wanted to check in. Looks like we have another Michelle joining our group. Welcome to you MichelleRae, can't wait to learn more about you.
The scales were still at 237 this morning so I really do think I am stuck here for a bit. Oh well as long as I don't gain I am sure it will eventually start going down again. I will make it. I am just used to seeing at least a little bit of a drop every few days. Well better run, it is time for work once again. Yippeeee(NOT) |
Good Morning, Chickies . . . it's still too warm and the humidity is oppressive, but at least it has stopped raining :) . . . the sun is actually peeking out from time to time so maybe the worst is over. :^:
ROBBIN . . . Hi  Hope you'll be able to stop in for longer, later. ERIN . . . Didn't actually get the construction started but I was shopping around for plans. I'm with you, girl . . . double ice cream, no gum; so maybe it balances out. ;) MICHELLE . . . Wow, that is hot! Try to stay cool. I find a cotton nightie works better than naked . . . after all, you need something to sop up the sweat. ;) RYANMI . . . I have this great mental picture of you sitting on the floor with your staff around you in a circle and all of them are drooling over the ice cream. Love it. TINA . . . I'm with you, girl . . . 32 (90F) is too hot for me, too. Keep cool. CHERYL . . . That is plenty hot enough, especially when the humidity is high. For me, it's always the humidity that takes its toll. I find 70 (21C) oppressive when the humidity is high. MRAE . . . Here's a great big welcoming  for you. Obviously I don't need to tell you how great 3FC is. Hope you like our little group. Wow you are a busy, busy girl. You are our 3rd Michelle; so hope you don't mind if I call you MRAE. Hope we'll all be seeing less of you, lots more often. :D Here are a couple of a 'tasty' (all puns intended) FFFs for today . . . We lose 64% of our taste buds between the ages of 30 and 80 . . . our taste buds can detect sweetness in a substance if 1 part in 200 is sweet . . . we can detect sourness if 1 part in 130,000 is sour or bitter (this sensitivity developed for protective purposes, since poisonous foods are more often sour/bitter than sweet). Have a great day of moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction, gang. See you lighter. :carrot: |
Good Morning Girls and Welcome to Tuesday !!!
Just a quick check in for me this morning. Hubby just rolled out of bed, so once he is ready we are going to hit the road and head up island for our overnight excursion. Was a hot one yesterday. I think the day time high was about 29C (to determine F I usually double it and add 30.. so roughly 88F) but at least we have a dry heat, we don't get the humidity here. Didn't get any tole painting done, but it is all laid out on the table so that should motivate me to do some later in the week. Lois ~ welcome back and nice to meet you :) So sorry to hear about what your SO went through, I can't imagine. Good luck with your move and hope to see you posting again soon. Erin ~ sewing projects.. whatcha making ?!?!? I dabbled in sewing for a short time, but I am not that good at it. Michelle ~ I don't think I would be coping very well in those temperatures. Hope you are finding ways to stay cool. Ryanmi ~ I love your posts, they always make me giggle !! Hope your work day is better today or the ice cream better beware !! A housekeeper.. I am sooo jealous !!!! Tina ~ glad to hear that you are doing well and finding ways to stay out of the heat. Cheryl ~ sounds like the quilt is coming along nicely, look forward to seeing pictures of it. MRae ~ welcome to the gang.. and a great gang it is. I have only been posting here for a few weeks and you will feel right at home in no time. You certainly have lots on your plate and we look forward to getting to know you. Robbin ~ a plateau.. hmm time to shake things up abit. What program do you follow ?? Meowee ~ yeah the rain is gone.. but I don't know which would be worse the humidity or rain :?: Interesting fact today.. keep em coming. Okay who have I missed... Liza, TeaHoney, Tricia.. hope all is well with you !! Well girls I am off... I will be home tomorrow night so I probably won't check in until Thursday morning.. Try not to miss me too much LOL Stay cool and take some time to enjoy the view ;) |
Hi LOUIE . . . I was just sitting here paying some bills, so, of course, I had to check in. Radio just told me we have the exact same temperature at 3:45, but our humidity is 94% . . . ugh. :( Hope you have a good outing . . . in case it will make you feel a little better the temperature is only 84.2F. Your formula is close for doing it in your head. If you've got a calculator handy, . . . C X9 /5 +32 = F . . . You all know how I love trivia. :D
|
Hiya Ladies thanks for the warm welcome into your group :)
A little more about me now lol I know I only left a quick intro last night: I weigh in at 250 :( I lost 50 pounds about 1.5 years ago but have since gained it back and I am extremely unhappy about that. I can't believe I got so lazy! So I'm back at it and I have to succeed, if I don't, I realize that my weight my eventually be the death of me. I have to do it for my family so that is my motivation. Meowee, I just loved your informational tidbit today, that was very interesting. Louie, Hi there! Thanks for the welcome! Robbin, Hello! You, I noticed, are making some wonderful progress in your weight loss journey! Way or should I say Weigh to go! ELEM, where are you going on vacation? I get to go to Arizona in July for my graduation so that should be neat but other than that I'm a homebody lol Hubby just made turkey burgers for lunch so I'm off to grab a bite! I'll be back later (I hope!) Michelle |
Good Afternoon Chickies. Hope everyone is having a good day. Normal busy work day for me, and not gonna be much different once I get home.
Erin – I seem to be very puffy today so I do think it is probably water retention so I have upped my water intake. So how is the new furniture, is it comfy? Can’t wait to see the pics. Michelle – I don’t think I have ever seen the temp 118 here before. :hot: Yuck Yuck. I would not even venture outside if I were you. Ryanmi – I am definitely sympathizing with you on the staff problems, I only have my receptionist to deal with and yesterday I wanted to ………:censored: ……well I can’t think of anything nice to say so I guess I had better not say it at all. If I had a whole staff to deal with and switching banks I would have downed a whole pint of Hagen Daze. Tina – You have been at the splash park a lot here lately, I bet you are getting in some good exercise playing around with your daughter. I wish I had time during the day to do things like that. Cheryl – I haven’t had a chance to look at your quilt work yet I keep hoping to have time but here lately I have been swamped at work and the only time I get on the net is to check in with you guys or something dealing with work. Linda – You have too much rain and we don’t have enough. Every time I hear you say the sun is actually peeking out I cant help but wish it would hide. You have depressed me with the thought of loosing my taste buds. I am 33 so I guess I am just starting to loose them. That sucks. Louie – I am counting calories and fat grams. I try to keep things shook up by bouncing my calories up and down in a decent range, I just think my body wants to tease me for :joker: a little while. Hope you have fun on your overnight trip. MichelleRae – Thanks for the pat on the back, it is nice for people to notice how hard I have worked. Just the other day a guy at work was passing by me and said “Wow Girl, how much have you lost? You look Great” Did you enjoy your turkey burgers:burger: ? Hello to anyone I missed, please know it is not on purpose:sorry: , I am sure I will catch you next time. Here are some food facts from me; I am trying to keep up with Linda on posting them. ▪Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza each day, or 350 slices per second. ▪Each man, woman and child in America eats an average of 46 slices (23 pounds) of pizza a year. ▪In the top 10 Ice Cream Consuming Countries In the World United States Ranks First and Canada Is Seventh ▪Per capita, Americans |
Hi Gang . . . happened to be passing by again . . .
MRAE . . . Hey, girl, you know you are not alone . . . can't think of too many people who manage to do it only once. What forum do you moderate, BTW? ROBBIN . . . How do you think I feel? At my age, I'm surprised I can still taste anything. :dizzy: Interesting to find out that so many canuks are so 'good' about avoiding ice cream. Afraid I'm not one of them; too bad my ice cream buds haven't disappeared. :D See you lighter. :carrot: |
MICHELLERAE... :welcome3: to a very wonderful and supportive group of girlies here!!!
ERIN... The AC we had gotten had something wrong with it, and my DH didn't want another one, so we're making due with many fans and the windows and blinds all closed except early in the morning and all night, except for downstairs. We also live in a townhouse, so it gets very warm!:( LOUIE... You are also having very hot weather! Hope you have lots of fun on your overnight excursion. I must of missed this post, but where are you going and what will you be doing?:dizzy:  LINDA... Atleast with our heat, we don't have the humidity. Last summer when my DD and I were in Iowa for six weeks, sometimes I thought I was going to absolutely die from the humidity! I do have a cotton nightie and that's what I do wear around a lot! ROBBIN... That's SO GREAT that guy at work noticed you have lost weight! It makes a person feel so much better when people actually start noticing, and then you know your hard work is paying off! I'm sorry if I missed others, because I don't mean it to be on purpose, but it's so hot here at the computer that I can't even concentrate as well. |
Happy Tuesday!
Tricia, have you gotten your eliptical put together yet? Yes, women do retain water and have fluctuation on the scale during there lovely monthly visit with Aunt Flo. I once posted some info. on that a while back. You know that if you exercise during "her" visit that it could actually help you lose weight faster. I think we've all been trying to test that theory since. Anyhow, you retain right before you start and it should go away mid-week. Hope that helps.
Linda, I see the kittens remained at the SPCA. I guess it's just aswell. I hope they get as good a home as you would have given them. Cute names by the way! Yes, it seems lately my days are running one into the other and hardly a break in between (if that makes sense). I don't think age has anything to do with it...I'm pretty spent myself. I hope that WWW has disapated by now so you have a good weigh in tomorrow. Ryanmi, I've come to realize that times have totally changed. I'm either too over protective or the world just has gotten really sucky. I remember heading out in the morning and playing till noon, go out and again after something to eat. Do the same thing around dinner time. There's no way I could handle not knowing where Alyssa is at ALL times. Not that I worry about her straying off, it's all the sickos I hear on the news that makes me paranoid. And in that case she can't get into all the trouble I did..hehe! Congrats on the 2.2lbs. taking off to highway heaven!! Awesome acheivement. You must be on cloud 9!! You could send me a cleaning team anytime! LOL! Erin, we're sounding a lot a like lately. LOL! Do you feel like you have to have everything spic and span before you go away on holidays? I do. "Went to bed with my grandma beads still on!!! (let me know if you don't get that!)" I'll raise my hand and tell you I don't know what that means. The bedroom furniture sounds really nice. I bet you feel so proud of the fact that they all match! I know what that feels like and it irritated me too. Congrats on the amazing 3lbs. It feels great when you're clothes get looser. You're doing terrific...you so deserve it! I got a farmers tan by the way, my arms look great and so do my feet, ankles and the part of the leg that's expose from my capris. You'd laugh your A$$ off if you saw me in a swimsuit though. I'd guess you could call a chocolate/vanilla swirl. MMMmm...that made me think of icecream! Tracey, congrats on the 3lb. loss! Woo Hoo! I can feel your excitment reading your post. Sounds like you have a good plan. Small changes helps you ease into this big switcharooney we're doing to our lifestyles. Anyhow, it's best not to put so much pressure on ourselves as we work through our weight issues. It's just setting ourselves up for failure before we really get out of the gate. Good job girl! Louie, Hey...even Martha has assistance. You're doing a superwomans job girl. Take the credit.. ;) Your surprise by your co-workers sounds great and that you had fun. How sweet of them. Have a lot of fun and relaxation on your getaway with hubby. You well deserve it. I hope you get the results you want on your exams. You probably rocked them anyways! Robbin, so did hubby survive his first night home after being away for 2 weeks?? LOL! I truly hope that what you've heard is really just a rumor. You need your man on your war front, combating 4 kids. LOL! We've gotta find out who has the fairy fat mother held hostage. We need her to spread some love. Sorry the scales are being fickle right now. Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. It has to be so tough. I hope you're able to take comfort in the fact that she will getting the help she needs from the doctors. It's a terrible thing to wonder what's causing your moms mental health to go down. Just remember there's always a silver lining around every grey cloud. Soon someday you'll be able to see it and be able to try to relieve some stress. BTW - how the heck are you living with that heat!!! I'd be a blob of jello by now. Shawn, take you back!? You gotta be kidding. You shouldn't even have to ask. We're here with open arms girl. I don't think either one of us could raise our hands fast enough when asked if we've been there done that before. Just climb back aboard and hang on for the bumpy ride ahead. Glad you're catching it and stopping it in time...but then again it's never too late. Welcome back! Cheryl, sorry to hear you were a little down. But you did great avoiding the stress eating. Congrats on the loss! Awesome! I draw the line at cobwebs and spiders....yuck and ewwww! I can't stand spiders! LOL! MichelleRae, welcome! You're going to love it here. Great group of women here. Looking forward to getting to know you too. Phewww!! Would you believe that it took me over an hour to read and catch up?!! Time for dinner already. I'm making greek salad wraps with slices of lean steak. Yummy! I'll check back later. ~Tina |
Okay Tina Girl you gotta share the recipe for those greek salad wraps with us! They sound absolutely delicious!! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Hi Michelle! You know it's funny I just realized that I have the same screen name you do for a few other boards that I use. R is my middle initial (obviously) and P is my last initial. Weird! I see you live in Oregon, I'm not *too* far from you, I'm in NW Montana, and it's blazing hot up here today, we spent the majority of the afternoon lounging in the pool...soooo relaxing! Linda, you are right it is difficult to do it the first time, second, third or fourth too LOL it's just plain ol' difficult! I moderate Exercise and Dieting with obstacles. I was on a bit of a hiatus while I was in school but I'm now in the home stretch and the pressures are not so bad anymore. Then come August I start my bachelors program and we'll see if I can still multitask lol. Robbin, The turkey burgers were awesome! When I'm on program I tend to eat very very little red meat if meat at all. I'll eat what I refer to as meatless meat....lol morningstar farms and boca products are the best in my opinion! Okay guys gotta go hubby is being a monster lol...have a good night |
Ryanmi...You snuck in while I was posting lastnight. Hey! Congrats on eating low fat ice cream. Sounds real yummy by the way.
Tina...Glad you are handling the heat so well by enjoying the splash park. Nice way to cool off!! When you go to Hong Kong, you will have the humidity to deal with. Hope you have a pool to cool off in. I could clean everyday and never get rid of the dust/cobwebs. It's the busy time of the year with the farmers working in the fields and moving grain to the elevators, and we live right next to a gravel road, so I have to deal with dust on a daily basis. Some days, I say the heck with it, and sew!!! Your Greek wraps sound yummy. Michelle...Glad you followed my advice. I think I will have to follow it by Thursday. We are going to be in the 90's and I know the humidity will be unbareable!!! I just might have to bare it, to cool off!:fr:  :yikes: :beach: Sure hope you don't have that kind of heat the end of July when we are visiting. I might have to go take a dip in the Columbia to cool off. :welcome: MichelleRae. So happy to have you join us. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Erin...Glad to hear it is cooling off for you. You must of sent your hot weather my way. I'm not looking forward to Thursday, because I know the sever weather will be moving in. Glad I have a storm room to hide out in when tornados are about. Robbin...Hope you break your plateau real soon. Congrats on maintaining by the way. That's the hard part, and your doing GREAT!!! Bet it is nice to have Hubby home. Great NSV when someone notices that you are loosing weight. I had the samething happen last week at the drug store. She asked if I had done something with my hair and I said no, but I have lost almost 20lbs. Oh!, that's it. Well, you look great!! I was on cloud 9. Louie...Hope you have a wonderful time with hubby and it's not too warm. I had a pretty busy day, meetings this morning with the FD and I had a meeting this afternoon. Didn't get any sewing done on the quilt, nor will I tomorrow since I have more meetings. Hope to land on Thursday and do nothing but sew and stay cool. I had a great NSV this afternoon, I was able to get into a pair of capris I haven't worn in four years. I'm getting ready to buy some new clothes on the first for vacation, since I still need a couple more capris, some tops and sandles. Another 20lbs, and I have a clothes full of clothes to wear. Have a good one ladies. Cheryl |
Well girls decided to pop in quick before bed and know have been here 45 minutes!!! Seems like lots of good news and positive attitudes going around. That is so wonderful to see!!
Robbin - I love your attitude about the scale right now. If i don't see at least a tiny drop each time i get on, i get frustrated. I will definitely keep your positive thoughts in mind next time it doesn't listen to me. Can't believe I still have empty space in my new furniture!! I will have to buy more clothes to fill it up!! NO actually i am going through some stored clothing to see what is starting to fit. Found several dresses today that now fit, one was even a 20!!! Loose style thought cause i have a few 26 sizes that are just now fitting, don't you love the variation of sizes the same number clothing can actually have! Linda - love the FFF!!! You never cease to educate me with things i have never heard before! Louie - my sewing projects are more scary than im pressive. I do a lot of winging it to come up with something functional i want but can't find. Such as foam leg rest for my kids since they hang so awkward off the car seat and we are facing a 16 hour car ride, a remote holder for my bed (long sheet for under the pillows with pockets on the ends to put the remotes in. Just weird stuff i could never find in the store. I have to say, i would never want people to see some of my sewing projects, they would think my 4 year old did them! Enjoy your outing with hubby today! Michellerae - I am going to Pennsylvania to visit my family. I am in Alabama and have been for 17 years but was born and raised in PA. We all know about the lose and regain phenomenon, if it is lost why is it so easy to find again!!!!! My sunglasses or car keys are never that easy to find!!! Michelle - OHHH, I am sweating for you!!!! I think i would have to go get another AC and just tell hubby the old one spontaneously healed itself!!!!! HOpe things start cooling off for you soon! I couldn't concentrate in that kind of heat either!!! Tina - yes i can't handle the thought of coming home to a messy house. I know I will be bringing in a mess when i get here to I need to feel like i have a head start by having the house clean before I leave! I love the chocolate vanilla swirl tan!!! Never thought of that description but it really fits!! Oh and by the way, if i can venture into the public domain in a bathing suit so can you!!!! Do you not swim with your daughter, I thought you talked about pushing her around in the pool before, or does the splash park just not lend itself to true swimming, hence the name "splash". Yeah I know I am rambling again!!! grandma beads are the little ring of dirt you get in the creases of your neck when you have been in the dirt and sweaty all day. You go in at night and raise your head up and there are your beads!!! I never heard it before i came south but i understood completely once they explained it. So many women here garden up into their 80's and 90's and are out in the dirt all day so i gues that is how it got started as "grandma" beads. By the way, yes i can believe it took and hour and i'll see ya for dinner, it sounds wonderful! Cheryl - Hate to hear you are anticipating storms, and yes a storm room is essential! Is yours one of the cement, steel reinforced deals??? We just go to our basement in the back corner where it is most underground and my office is. We can be comfortable in there and worst comes to worst there is a closet in that room we can really hunker down into if needed. YEAHHHH on getting into the capri's!!!! that is wonderful! Well girls gotta run! 4 am comes early and it is already almost 10pm, i need more than 6 hours to be tolerable the next day!! ya'll have a good one and will try to check in in the AM! |
Good Evening Girlies -- I will do personals tomorrow because I'm so ready for bed tonight! The weather has finally cooled down and it's actually supposed to get down to 57F tonight, instead of 81F last night. This heat has worn me out so bad that I'm actually feeling very sick to my stomach and just need some good sleep. I hope all of you have a good night and we'll talk more tomorrow...:grouphug:
|
Morning glories! Supposed to be another beautiful day here in Alabama not quite as much humidity but still hot. I am looking forward to getting alot done today since i ended up getting sidetracked for 3 hours at Sam's getting my tires rotated. Was supposed to take only 1 1/2 - 2 hrs and it was 3 to the minute! Fortunately my kids did very well and that kept all of us sane. Needless to say after deciding to have dinner out with hubby instead of going home to cook it was too late for me to get much done last night. So the list is long today but I am ready to take it on!
Michelle - glad to hear you are cooling off :whoo: and hope your rest cured the ailing stomach! Okay girls here's a question- do i take my scale on vacation with me or not??? Mom has a scale but I am pretty sure after last trip it is off from mine and is not in a convenient location for me to weigh first thing AM like I normally do. Since we are going in the car there will be no problems packing it and we will be gone for 10 days and i know I can't go that long without weighing! That daily weigh in really keeps me motivated when it comes to making good food choices. Am i totally nuts for even thinking about taking it????? |
Morning all, hope everyone had a good nights sleep and are well rested. Stupid scales are not making me happy. But I guess today was better than it has been. They have been reading 237.4 and this morning was 237.0. I might have to threaten scale-a-cide again. That seemed to work last time, I think I scared them with the thought of drowning in the bathtub.
Linda – I know I help the US rank #1 in the ice cream category; I have some every night before bed. Michelle – I do not know how you manage with out an air conditioner. It hits 80 and mine is on full blast. But I am a very hot natured person; I cannot take the heat at all. I am always turning the thermostat down at my office. Tina – Hubby was more tired the day after his first night home than he was from being away for 2 weeks, if that makes any sense. LOL I kinda kept him up. If you find that Fairy Fat Mother cage her and mail her to me. MicheleRae – I don’t eat any red meat but can NOT eat the meatless meat, YUCK YUCK YUCK. I just cannot get that healthy. I stick with turkey substituted for all hamburger. I eat a lot of chicken, fish and turkey. Cheryl – Bravo on the NSV, I can completely relate. I have a shirt I have been using as a goal. I don’t even really like this shirt but I can’t wait to get into it. I haven’t worn it for about 4 years. I need to loose about 10 more pounds and it will fit perfect. Erin- I am sure you will start filling up that new furniture in no time, with dropping weight you will HAVE to go shopping. LOL. If I were going on a 10 day vacation I think I would take my scale with me. It would keep you honest. On vacation you are supposed to enjoy yourself but we all know that if we do not keep on top of ourselves we will regret it later. I say take the scales. (did all of that make sense?) Well girls once again I gotta get to work. |
Just a quick hello this morning because I am so busy wallowing in self-pity. The WWW is still with me and I refuse to move my ticker backwards since I do not deserve this. It's as though the whole month of June has been wiped off the calendar and I'm back were I was at the end of May. So, in the usual self-sabotaging way, I've been very busy this morning trying to make the 3.6 pounds become real. Hopefully I'll get over this bummer of a mood really soon before it does become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
See you later, gang. You all be good now, even though I am not. :^: |
Linda - you better be good. You have worked too hard to sabotage yourself. You know the WWW will go away. You just need to stay off of the scales for a bit. Up your water intake and quit stressing. Here is something that helps with the stress. I receive e-mails everyday with diet and health tips and this is one I received. I have used this method of relaxing lots here lately and it really works. It seems to give me a boost in my moods.
Proper Breathing is an underestimated, but critical building block of good health. Slow, deep breathing gets rid of carbon dioxide waste and takes plenty of clean, fresh oxygen to your brain and muscles. More blood cells get the new, oxygen-rich air instead of the same old stale stuff. Experts estimate that proper breathing helps your body eliminate toxins 15 times faster than poor, shallow breathing. You'll not only be healthier, but you'll be able to perform better (mentally and physically) and, of course, be less stressed and more relaxed. 1. Get Ready (2 minutes) Make the room dark, or at least darker. Lie down flat on your back, or sit against a wall. Use a pillow for comfort. Make sure no part of your body is strained or supporting weight. Close your eyes. Just pay attention to your breathing for a minute or two. Don't try to change it, just notice how it feels. Imagine the fresh blood flowing through your body. Listen to your surroundings. 2. Stage I (2 minutes) Practice breathing in and out of your nose. Exhaling through the mouth is okay for quick relaxation, but for normal breathing, in and out the nose is best. Take long breaths, not deep breaths. Try not to force it, you shouldn't hear your breath coming in or out. You're drawing slow breaths, not gulping it or blowing it out. Feel the rhythm of your breathing. 3. Stage II (3 minutes) Good breathing is done through the lower torso, rather than the upper torso. Each breath should expand your belly, your lower back and ribs. Relax your shoulders and try not to breathe with your chest. Put your hands on your stomach and feel them rise and fall. If it's not working, push down gently with your hands for a few breaths and let go. Your stomach should start to move more freely. Relax your face, your neck, your cheeks, your jaw, your temples, even your tongue. 4. Stage III (3 minutes) Feel the good air entering your lungs and feel the stale air leaving your body. "In with the good, out with the bad" is definitely true here. Make your exhale as long as your inhale to make sure all the bad air is gone. Remember, long slow breaths. Most people take 12-16 breaths per minute. Ideally, it should be 8-10. Now try to make your exhale a little longer than your inhale for a while. Pause after your exhale without taking a breath. Focus on the stillness and on not forcing an inhale. Your body will breathe when it needs to. 5. Wake Up!!! |
Happy Wednesday!
Goodmorning everyone! Hope you're all found well. Still no news from the fairy fat mother yet. It seems it's getting harder to lose, I guess the good news is that I'm maintaining. Things have been a litte sparatic here lately with regards to water intake and eating properly. A) It's too hot to exercise and B) It's too hot to eat a wholesome meal. I find I'm grabbing a "little" something to tyde me over around meal times cause I don't want to cook. And I guess C) I'm getting really excited about my upcoming holiday (18 days away..yippee!) and the last thing I'm thinking about is diet and exercise. I'm stuck in a rut cause I already have bought some clothes that fit me nicely now (size 16 pants and XL shirts, double yippee!!) and I guess subconsciencely I've settled for now. But not forever! You would think with this reasoning and rationalizing that I would be comfortable with what I've come up with....but I'm not. I still desperately want to see the scale move. I hope this makes sense cause now I'm starting to feel as though I'm babbling on and on...
Anywho! MichelleRae, it is simple really. Something I've concocted myself. We had leftover BBQ steak from monday (lean cut). I sliced it up and reheated it in a pan with some mushrooms. Tossed it in a bowl with some cucumbers and greens (you can throw in some peppers and olives too if you like them...but they make me shiver LOL!), poured in a little drizzle of Kraft Greek salad dressing (calorie-wise), crumbled light feta-cheese over...tossed it all and spread on a low-fat tortilla wrap. It was delicious, if I do say so myself. I don't usually come up with good ideas! LOL! Perfect for hot weather...don't feel like eating much. Cheryl, yeah..I remember the humidity over there quite well. The first time I've ever experienced anything like it. The only way I could describe it to my mother was...the air was really thick and too thick to breathe...almost suffercating! Here I am trying to prepare my 4yr. old for this!! hahaha! The place we're staying has a few pools around aswell as a beach. You'll be able to find me there quite often! I totally know what you're talking about with the dust...heck, dirt coming through the windows. My mom lives in a rural area beside a gravel road and I live in a new development where there's machinery working all the time stirring up dirt. Right now there making more roads so there out there in a feild of dry, dusty dirt going over it and over it. And once that's done they'll be digging new basements. Lovely! Congrats on the NSv....that is so great! Erin, great minds think alike. My hubby is complaining..."didn't you already clean this", "didn't you just do this". I just want it to be clean before I go, not saying I'm dumb enough to believe that no dust will fall in the 3 weeks we're gone. LOL! It just settles my mind for now. Yeah, I just bought a bathing suit about a month ago (that I actually like), and I have gone swimming in it before this farmers tan! But now the tan lines have more contrast to the vanilla if you know what I mean! LOL! I would't mind taking the scales. Like you said you have room and if it helps to keep you accountable...bring them! What matters most is you and if you feel you need them to help you out...by all means girl! Michelle, I'm glad it's starting to cool down for you. Those temps were just unbelieveable to me. Nice to know that a person can pull through them without melting. LOL! We had a thunder storm overnight that has cooled things off nicely but now the sun is up and beaming strongly. Robbin, hahaha!! I could get a little crude here...awwwe what the heck. Was he your acting "DRILL" sargeant?? hahaha!! Sorry but I had to! Don't worry if I happen to come across the FFM I'll come shake her wings on us all! Oh Linda, I know how discouraged you must feel. And I can't even blame you for turning to food because of it. Just put it down and back away now. You already know it does no good and will be havic on you emotionally later. It may not have disappeared this week but it will likely be gone next weigh in with more buddies to take along with it. Stay strong girl. We're here for you. I'll be back later to check in. Have a great day girls! ~Tina |
Good Afternoon Ladies!!! I just got home from work and took a dip in the pool for a bit now time to relax and chit chat! Work was long but rewarding even though I started off rather crabby! I perked up after awhile :D I came home craving some spaghetti so that's what's for dinner and some sherbet or italian ice (my favorite) for dessert. I have already drank 32 oz of water with another 32 soon to be on it's way down the hatch. Oh! Oh! Oh!! I rode my bike to work and back today! So I saved some money and got some exercise too! I don't live far from work but even the smallest bit of exercise has got to help!
Tina, I'm sooooo going to make those greek wraps this weekend, I'm gonna substitute the beef for some chicken breast and leave out the olives, (I hate those buggers) Where are you going on Holiday? If you ever come to Glacier Park, let me know I'll give you a discount on a hotel room. :) We get a lot of customers from Alberta down this way :) Robbin, I grew up a vegan so giving up meat or eating meatless meat is easier for me than for some. I actually really love boca burgers and the whole morningstar farms line...good stuff! I do enjoy a steak every now and again though. How's work going? Linda hang in there my friend that scale will eventually have no choice but to move downwards :) Erin, I'm a scale maniac myself and have even had times when I had to have my hubby hide it from me because I would get obsessed with weighing myself! I would definitely take it if I were you! I wouldn't have a good time without knowing my weight lol. Well it's time to get dinner on the table and get things ready for tomorrow so the morning isn't rushed. Hope you all have an excellent evening! Michelle |
Evening ladies...Just a quick check in for tonight. Had my WW meeting today and I was down 2 lbs. Made my day!! Went out to lunch with my friend and I can no longer eat fried foods. I feel so yucky and sick right now. Looks like I will stay with the healthy eating when going out.
Erin...I say take the scales, since you are in the habit of weighing every day, you would go nuts not being able too.:dizzy: Go and enjoy your vacation!! Yes, we have a cement, steel, below ground storm room. If a tornado wiped us out at ground level and we got to the storm room, we would be safe. Linda...Sorry you are in a bad mood and those subborn pounds are hanging on for dear life. Stay strong, talk nice to yourself and I'll send that FFM your way. Ryanmi, Tina, Michelle, Robbin, MichelleRae, Lois, Liza...Hope I didn't forget anybody! Hope you all had a good day and I'll write personals to you tomorrow. Cheryl |
Howdy girls!! So how are all of you this morning? I am fighting a little stress right now, and not sure why. My mood has been trying to go downhill but coming here seems to be perking me up. The scale is not my friend this morning up a pound and a half and didn't expect it. I gave in last night and had some whole grain brown rice with cheese on it for supper and don't know if that is to blame or not. I really thought the portion i had was reasonable and didn't eat anything else so hoped it wouldn't bother me too bad but whew a whole pound and i half blew me away!! Will do better today and hope something changes tomorrow. Have to say though that sealed the deal I am taking the scale. I really expected everyone to say i was crazy for even thinking about it but with the weigh in this morning and ya'll's encouragment, I don't see any reason not to take it!!!
Robbin - I know what you mean, there may be a genicide going on with the scales because I spent most of the morning threatening mine too! I'm sure we are holding onto some water or something that is just not letting us see what you want. I know you have been sticking to plan and you will see results soon!! HANG IN THERE!! Yes your thoughts on taking the scale with me made sense, exactly what I was thinking! Loved the breathing exercise you shared with Linda, I do something similar to that with my patients quite often! Linda - Oh lady, i know the pain you are feeling, I agree don't move that ticker, keep upping the water intake and if you have been exercising, stop for a few days, that seems to cause a change for me. If not maybe start. The other option is join the scale-a-cide that Robbin and I are threatening and see if that helps! But please don't eat those pounds on, the stress of that would be so much worse! You know those pounds shouldn't be there and they will go away! Tina - WHOO HOO on the 16 and XL clothes, what an accomplishment!! I am so excited for you. I agree, keep up the maintaining and enjoy your trip when it comes and then maybe get back at it hard. Michellerae - boy you impressed me with the riding the bike to work, i would be so sweaty and nasty when i got there nobody would want to be around me the rest of the day! You sound like such an orgainzed in control woman you really impress me! Are you always calm and controlled? Cheryl - WHOOHOOO!!!!! :carrot: :cb: :cp: Yeah on the down 2 pounds, that is awesome!! I know you are floating on air over that one! Glad to hear you have the underground storm room, i think ya'll are more prone than we are to the really severe stuff, so glad you would be safe! Is the inside comfy or is it just a room? Well ladies, gotta run - if i don't catch ya'll again before i leave i will be sure to get on from mom and dad's soon! Ya'll take care and keep on doing what your doing! Erin |
