  • emzi- memorial day is may 29th, aka the last monday in may.

today i'm planning to actually do some serious walking- a couple miles hopefully. last night i went to the boyfriend's and he ordered pizzas. so yesterday didn't turn out so good at all. the boy is nice and supportive in theory when i tell him i'm trying to lose weight.. but when i tell him i don't want any pizza he says, 'no, i'm getting you one, what kind do you want?' so i'm gonna have to watch myself when i'm over at his house.
  • Sticking with it

all of you who have just joined us!!

Good morning everyone. (or afternoon for some of you )

Memorial day is when we recognize our fallen soldiers who died so we can live free.

My good morning yesterday turned into a great evening! I am really "sticking with it"
I LOVE THIS DIET!! "don't hate me"

Now I realize that this is just week one and that's really the easiest week to lose the most but for me its not the "losing weight" that got me the first week its always the dread that I have knowing I must do this another week. That's why I never make it.

But this weeks been great. I have all of you (group hug) and I can eat whatever I want at least once a day.

My goal is to lose 2-3 pounds a week. But I wanted to shed 10 pounds by Memorial day first. To give me a boost. For me I lose most weight (4-7 pounds) the first week because of water. I'm not usally on the diet by the second week!

According to this book, its like your mind is tricking your body. That's okay for me because for years my body has been tricking my mind into believing I am a size 8.

  • Hi everyone~

Potato~ Are you on the Carb addict diet by Drs. Richard and Rachel Heller?
I don't have that book, but I have their 2nd book "Healthy for Life". I've had it for many years, but never tried it. Are you familiar with this book?
  • sticking with it
Yes I have the old book.
I have had it for years but never tried it. I kept doing other programs. I saw it one day and decided before I bought anything else I would at least give this a shot.

There are some pitfalls. Don't change your reward meal. Meaning one day your reward meal will be at dinner and the next day Lunch. Keep it all the same unless its a must. If you change your reward meal each day or week then you are letting your mind think you can eat whatever you want when ever you want and before long you are off the diet.

Now you are suppose to have a healthy balanced meal on the reward meal but you can have "real" food and "real" dessert! Also you must eat the reward meal within one hour of begining the meal.

Yesterday I had a low carb Break( 3 bacon 2 fried eggs and coffee) then a salad for lunch. I saw a candy bar (snickers with almonds) instead of eating eat I saved it for my reward meal at dinner. The funny thing was I only ate half. I really didn't want it. Sense I am a surgarholic and love snacking in between this is amazing to me.

Anyway, its only been the first week only time will tell.
  • I finally found my way to the site. I would like to know how every got the weight line scales at the bottom. and the cute pictures by your names?

  • I found you guys!!!!!!!!!!! Posted on the other site and finally made it here.
Been doing WW for 7 months and have lost 15 lbs. starting to get discouraged, and give up. i am so excited to join in on a new group and to get the much needed support. i was up 1.4 lbs. this week, so i am trying my best to "stick w/ it" and lose it this week.
  • sticking with it
    Hooray you've joined us!
15 pounds?! Yeah!! Look at it this way. You have kept 15 pounds off for almost 7 months! That is awesome and nothing to get discouraged about.

The closer you get to your goal weight the harder its seems to get it off and you may just have to exercise alittle more.

I was homebound yesterday and it looks like I am again today so I will be checking in and out of the website as I clean my house.

I could go ride my bike. No excuse today since I have plenty of time.

    Have a great memorial!

  • Happy Thursday everyone! Hope yall are doing alright...I think my biggest problem is that I slacked off on my water drinking...so I'm renewing my water goal and drinking as much as I can. I saw a report on the news about a guy doing the Before, During and After diet and he lost 70 lbs eating anything he wanted. Hope yall have a fantastic day! I'll try to check in sometime later this afternoon.
  • Okay yall...I set myself a goal to drink 3 big tumblers of water before I pick my husband up from work at 4:00....I just finished tumbler number 2 woohoo. Talk to yall soon.
  • i saw my first results today! i've lost 2 pounds since i started doing this stuff on monday! ever so much with the encouraging.
  • Pickin myself up
Hi All. I posted somewhere about a week ago, but don't remember where. I think this is the best place for me to be. My problem has always been the "Stickin to it" part. I Have about 80 pounds to lose and have been stuck for a while. I just started Monday. I have been doing really good with watching what and how much I eat and exercising. Today, though, I had a little trouble. I blew it at lunch. But , I am not giving up the rest of the day. Normally, I would say " oh well, I blew it, I will start again tomorrow". Not this time. I feel too good to give up. I love the way exercise makes me feel. Not to mention how much energy I have when I am not stuffing myself to the max. So, I had a little fall. I'm pickin myself back up and marching forward. Good luck to everyone who's doin the same. I could use some buddies, if anyone wants to talk one on one.
  • Lady Effinger-Good for you for picking yourself up, brushing yourself off and plugging along. So you blew it at lunch, so what, it's one meal. Don't give up.

BainidheDub-Congrats on losing 2lbs. Your off to a great start. Keep up the good work.

Hpnotq-How did you do on your water. That's if your not floating away by now.

    Hope everyone is doing well.

    Have a wonderful weekend.
I have a 4 day weekend. Yippeeee And the weather is supposed to be beatiful. I hope get outside and enjoy.

    Talk to you later.
  • I know how you feel Lady Effinger. I have in the past, had trouble making it to the 2 week of dieting. But I am doing really good. The encouragements are really helping me and I believe that is what makes the difference. As I have gotten involved talking with everyone I do feel accountable to all of you and I really want to make this work. (aahhh group hug)

    Way to go BainidheDub!!

Hey Hpnotq, how are you coming with that water? I have had 2 - 16.9 oz bottles today I plan on having four before the day is out. That's pretty good for me.

vapixie, I told a new person about you being on WW. because she is too. I told her to join us because I thought you two being on the same diet could really relate and help encourage each other. I hope that was okay?
