  • Don't say that! Look at what you've already lost!!

You are where I am at. I want to have 10 pounds off by Memorial day and that is alot. But with the off chance we DON'T do it then we can enjoy the amount we did lose!!

Now as a woman we are allowed 1 minute to have a pity party. The minute is up. We have 5 days. Take a look at what you are eating if you have been very restrictive then maybe its time to trick your body into thinking you are not on a diet. If you have been very lacks. Then see where you can cut back.

Of course I know you know all of this but that's what we are here for. To motivate each other to success.

Remember me when its my bad day. Only allow me 1 minute to have a pity party

  • Potato you're funny.LOL
Love the 1 minute pity party theory.

Oh I get it Angel! "TOM"? I thought he was your husband or boyfriend that you were mad at.

I imagine he's like my "Aunt Flo" She's a witch when she shows up!

I saw we had a bunch of new goal setters!

  • LOL.
That's funny. I usually refer to it as Aunt Flo too. But I've not seen anyone else refer to it as that so I didn't know if anyone else called it that.
I looked at my original post and yah it looks like I was mad at some man named Tom because he came over to my house.

    Thanks for making me laugh.
  • Hi all. I decided that I might as well post instead of just reading. For the past 3 days I've managed to stay just below my calorie target amount. I haven't been anywhere so I've avoided my usual problem of fast food. However, I have been hit by the late night munchies. I've dealt with that by finding something to eat that is around 100 calories. That way it can't do too much damage.
  • Hey I got to noticing the red envelopes different groups had and realized that a red envelope means hot Thread: You need at least 20 replies or 200 views. We are at 19. We are a Hot Thread!!! So since I love to achieve new things I figured I'd be number 20!!!!

    Give me a prize!!!!

  • hey, i started a diet monday but just noticed this group today. i'm trying to be good but this morning my sister got me to go for a walk with her.. that ended with mocha smoothies. *shakes fist* no change yet with the scale, but i haven't really gotten into this full swing yet.
  • Danger time is coming!
Have managed pretty well so far today. Took my mom and sister to Swiss Chalet for lunch and I had the new Garden 1/4 chicken dinner - 1/4 chicken breast with salad and mixed veggies - not too bad. I also biked for 60 minutes and did light weights for 20 - so its been a good day so far. Dinner will be a veggie stir fry with rice and I plan to have that around 7 to beat some of the late night munchies.

My goal for this group is too lose the 10 - 15 pounds I have regained over the past year. I want to start eating better and sticking to my exercise routine. Hoping the summer weather will keep me motivated.

How was everyone's day? and from one newbie to another I welcome all the new members. Its so much better having a larger group - more encouragement and support to go around.
  • This is as good a spot as any to jump in with both feet. I have been over weight for as long as I can remember (although there are pics of me as a skinny gradeschooler)

I have recently been diagnosed as insulin resistant and have started medication as well as been advised to get more exercise and eat healthier.

So as of yeaterday I'm bicycling to work (2 miles) every morning.

Of course I'm trying to implement dietary changes as well.

I have always had problems sticking to diet plans such as south Beach, beacause I find them way too restrictive. I really can't afford to make one meal for me and another for my family, so I'm mostly just trying to watch my portion sizes for the moment as well as reducing sugars and caffeine.

    WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!
  • Well I managed to walk to and from "long walk park"(as my DD calls it) again. All total, it is about a 4.5 mile walk. One reason the walk doesn't bother me so much is that I let the kids play at the park for an hour or so so my legs can recover from the walk there. LOL

The only problem with the walk is that my DD always wants to get ice cream on the way home. (It is a slight detour to hit the ice cream store.) If I get my DD ice cream, I have to get it for my DS too. Being that he's only 13 mo. old, he doesn't quite finish the cup so I am in the habit of helping him out (heaven forbid, we waste any ice cream). But honestly, he eats the majority of the ice cream. Maybe I have to start "forgetting" my wallet so we don't indulge any longer.
  • Thank you my dear potato! Pity party over...let's hit that memorial day goal
  • Hi,
Mandi/27 grad student, just learning to count calories and exercise. No kids, no significant other, no real life outside the library Just working this summer though, so I want to start changing bad habits. Lost 8 lb so far.

best luck to all this week! Namaste
  • I really do sit here and think about doing exercise all the time, like ive sat for the past 5 minutes thinkin about it while catching up on this thread. but thats all i ever do.. lol. think. the other day i was like. right ill start with 50 sit ups a day. and the only sit ups ive done. its getting my lazy backside up off a chair. At the minute im not working either, as hairdressing is so hard to get into. 2 job interviews tho . ok. back to my rant. so yeah. i decided with not working id exercise when i have nothing to do, that is still yet to come hahah. Ill sit here on the computer for the next hr lookin at silly little diets that people come up with. have a shower and get myself sorted. baring in mind its nearly 1:30pm here. then decide what to do with my day. The weathers getting warmer outside here so i could go for a walk.... maybe just maybe i will do that. ill post later if i do.
  • Oh and another thing?. memorial day? when and what is it? i live in the UK so i dnt really know. x
  • I hope you'll allow me to join in, too. I am returning to the straight and narrow path after about six months of wandering far afield and regaining about 10 lbs. of the weight I had lost. I'm actually pleased I didn't regain it ALL but obviously I have a long way to go to get back to a healthy weight!

What I'm finding extremely helpful right now is a subliminal weight loss DVD that I found on eBay. The idea is that you watch this DVD every day for 30 days. It's about 20 minutes long and has beautiful scenes of running water, waterfalls, etc. There are 12 or 15 different messages that are supportive of a healthier lifestyle like "I drink plenty of water" and "I eat less sugar and fat" and "I enjoy fruits and vegetables." It has a companion audiotape that I listen to as I fall asleep at night that has the same messages. After Day 2, I noticed I was starting to drink water, which is definitely not my favorite beverage! After Day 3, I made a trip to the grocery store and re-stocked my kitchen with fresh fruits and vegies and did NOT bring home any more of the foods I traditionally binge on. And the next day I started using my Weight Watchers Online membership again and keeping track of my food intake. I'm not exercising yet but that's gonna come too!

My weigh-in is Monday but I'm already feeling better knowing I'm doing what's good for myself. I can't promise to be a real active poster but I'll chime in every now and then!
