Susan--I do different things with both of the kids. DD of course LOVES shopping, but we do other stuff too. We dance around the house like idiots, we did the hair, makeup and nails--she always thought it was fun. I still always paint my toes a wild color that I would never put on my fingers--most times I have nothing or just clear on my fingernails--all the typing wears it too fast. My son liked to hit flea markets, hike or ride on back roads trying to find new ones--I try playing video games with him but I am not very good--except with Tetris and Asteroids--there was a downhill skiing one I did okay in and I like the racing games. He still teases me about some coputer game sampler he had--one of the games was golf and it was so easy he said that even I could do it---I was so bad the little girl character I was using actually dropped to her knees crying--he had never seen that happen in any game he played and thought it was hilarious!! my DD's friend Misty is a Chrissy Snow--I told DD that her IQ drops just being with her--luckily is only only a temporary setback.

Ginny--what's it like being Mom to 5 sons?? I would have had a second DS that would have been 16 now, but I had a miscarriage. I do agree with what you posted to Susan about things your sons did in Highschool. I knew most of what they were doing but apparently my son didn't want me to worry. He was always small and very skinny and got picked on alot--then the teenage anger kicked in about 13 and he wasn't picked on any more until we moved in his freshman years and he had to prove himself again-he dresses weird--think the Kurt Cobain thrift shop look and he likes strange colors oranges, greens and yellows--he has the ugliest two Mr Rogers sweaters--one is close to a mustard yellow but not there and the other he calls baby poop green. In a school with farm boys and jocks he didn't fit in well until he apparently won a fight with a football jock that was several inches taller and outweighed him by almost 80 lbs. I found out about it after he was out of school.

Work related--I have a headset with a remote lifter from Hello Direct at work--it's is very nice, but if you work more one to one with customers and several people answer your phone it won't do you much good--if you call the company and explain that your worker was not authorized to ask for the product and explain that it will not work for your business they will probably sent you a label to send it back. If you don't want to open the box--search on the internet for the company name and click on the contact info--most companies have an 800 line posted--if it is Hello Direct I can give you that number.

Shawnaa--the meal sounds yummy--good for you to encourage your daughter and you have a workout buddy as a bonus-this weightloss-better health does get discouraging--I want it gone yesterday!!!

Well I am going to finish my coffee and eat a bowl of cereal and then go workout!!

Yes, Jules, It is Hello direct. I don't think to much about a company that sends things without knowing if the person is authorized to do so or not..I don't care how good the product is. What if a kid had answered, I mean. They should have at least asked her. I am just going to send it back. If it costs something and she has to pay, that will be a good lesson to her. I can't tell how it was shipped. There is only a airborne express on it, but I went on line and can't figure out how it came.

My boys didn't do anything illegal or bad in high school, just a few times they skipped classes and went on a little day trip to the neighboring town or some silly things like that... it was nothing bad, but at the time had I known I would have been upset with them. Having 5 boys is a lot different than having 1 or even 2. The more testosterone in the house the more activity. I believe if you have even one girl among the boys it quiets them down a tad. But with all boys we had enough rough housing going on. Surprisingly not that much was broken. They were outside a lot. They were all into their own things, the first two were into football and baseball, the second two into karate, the last little guy had to try to get into either group. Always thought we should have had a sixth so he had a buddy, but he fit in just fine. Now they are all still very close.

Well, gotta go to work. Later

Good Friday Morning Ladies

Even though I am not a morning person, it feels good to get up early and get a nice long walk in. And v is home so we went together, a nice start to a great day!

JULES...thank you for the BD, anniversary and MD wishes! You sound like me...I always did seperate things with the kids too. They all got equal time and their own time. When they were young on their birthday I let them stay home and they got to choose if they wanted to go to a bd breakfast or lunch. Then they got to choose the dinner menu...whatever they wanted it was *their* day. But I do think kids need their *own* separate time alone with mom, or dad. I still do that for their bd depending on their schedule and of course I can't do it for Josh. It totally killed me that we missed celebrating his bd together. But I am going to make up for it next week, 7 more days 'til he comes home!

SHAWNA...glad you found us again! And glad your DD decided to go after all. I seem to do that myself...get up and not want to go exercise. But then I do and I feel so much better after. Like my walking...I HATE getting up so early to go walk but after doing so I feel so energized and glad for doing it. I know I'm walking my way to being healthier. Glad the shrimp was a hit with everyone!

GINNY...what possessed the employee to take charge like she did? I too would send it back, but I wouldn't think you would have to pay for it. Would think the company would. But...I would pay to get confirmation in case they say you didn't send it back, and totally at the employee's cost since it was her who authorized it and shouldn't have. I would never do something like that. My first DH always said he wanted four boys but then after two he was getting cold feet about having more kids period. Never will forget...I got pregnant with DD April 1983 and May 1983 he had a vasectomy on my BD, lol! I always joke that that was my bd present.

DEBORAH...I think it was you who asked if anyone worked in retail and I think I said I didn't. Had a *duh* moment though because I worked in a Hospital Gift Shop for many years and loved it! Guess I just don't think of it as being retail like a Department store since it was mostly gift items for patients. Of course the volunteers got first dibs on what came in and we always joked that if we actually got paid when we would get paid we would owe them, lol!

SUSAN... hope you have fun at the reunion! I wish my family would have a reunion, would be awsome to get everyone together. I even thought about trying to organize one myself and get some help from others. But no one would be willing. I can't even get my mother to get my brothers and sisters together when I go visit which isn't often. I think Jules had some good ideas too. And maybe Rebecca just needs some one on one time with mom, without anyone else. And you WILL survive! You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Made me think of that song by Gloria Gaynor, I will survive...great song!

Hi to everyeone else, KATY, LAURA, MARY if you're out there lurking.

Well, I need to get going. Need to jump in the shower and run to the mall to pick up this giant heart shaped cookie I had them make for V. I can buy him sweets but he can't buy me any! He'll like that...Anyway...take care ladies and have a WONDERFUL day!

Crisitna--the heart shaped cookie sounds fun--I always get my DH angel food cake which is his favorite, DS get chocolate with homemade peanut butter icing and DD gets cheescake with strawberry sauce. I let them pick for their bdays too--they either get their favorite home cooked meal or the restaurant of their choice. DD & I have a tradition for her bday since she was 15--half and hour massage (which my insurance covers most), pedicure for both, manicure for her and shopping. DS and I used to go to a big city and hit the museums we've been mostly to DC but also to Baltimore & Philadelphia. DD's ex got his birthday with his favorite meal of breakfast items while they were still together--he had said that nobody ever did anything like it for him--there are things about his life that make me fell so sad for him but then he had a chance to be happy and threw it away..DS's gf's bday is in August and she has already joined us for DH's night out in Feb & DS's in April.

have a special day!!

Ginny--I pm'd you with the Hello Direct return number. Hope everything gets taken care of--they usually ask to talk to the person who can make the decision--not sure why they let her authorize even a free trial unless she told them she could, but who knows. Hope you get a little sunshine although I am still smiling at your guys int he Gorton Fishermans outfits...

Hope everyone has an awesome day...

Good Morning!!

I am going to chat about myself right now. I am on my MAC and can't do proper wishes to you Cristi *waaa

I had 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast with wheat toast. I am wearing my "fat" jeans again because last week my "fat" jeans were even too small to wear - lol So, yay!! I am thinking another 2 weeks I can go down to my other jeans. Who knows?? I am just happy my blouses are fitting better.

Beck was hurt by a boy yesterday he said she had "itty bitty titties".....poor thing. He also called her other friend a ho.......that is why she didn't want to go in the math class with him in there. Anyway, I was going to talk with the VP this morning.

Going to look at the house in Gladstone in a bit. Don't think I can come up with all the deposits but want to look inside anyway.

Walked 1 mile last night and pooped out.

Katy - I was going to enroll Gaby in the bible vacation class at your church. Is Leigh going to do it too??

Shawna - YAY- On the shrimp dinner

I better get. Talk more when I get these girls taken care of for the morning!

It is Friday!!! YAY.....

Ginny- beets, tuna and cottage cheese is so yummy together.

Enjoy your day Cristi!! The heart shape cookies sounds cute.

Jules - I have to get cracken on some emails to co worker. I have to leave a paper trail on my efforts to communicate with him . He is sooooooo jerky. I was going to start the email Hey Jerk!....but don't think that would be professional. What do you think?? lol jk
I have tried the taking one girl at a time. Hard when no one wants to watch Gaby. When her father was actually visiting with her that was nice....because it gave me that free time to focus on the other 2 daughters.

I called the school and the VP was going to investigate what I said.....he is always excited makes me want to start twitching....

yikes, my 11 o'clock is here!! I forgot all about it!! yikes...lol

Talking Happy Mother's Day to all this weekend

Hi everyone!! To everyone who replied to my retail question, I work in mall management and I do most of the in house marketing for our mall and I just get sick of holidays. I have to go buy my mom and my mother in law something but for me its just another day. My hubby wants to take me out but I would rather just stay at home and read a book.
Everyone have a great day and good luck on your eating this weekend. WEIGH IN MONDAY AND I REFUSE TO BE UP AGAIN!!!!

Susan--all that tuna--you are going to turn into a mermaid or something. You could do a video night and save the scary or chick flicks for Beck after Gaby is in bed!! You can still do the nails, hair and makeup--fix Gaby up too...just remeber we all want pictures!!

deb--I love when I can just sit home and read a book!! I'll be doing the cooking on Sunday!!

Well my DD bailed on me to help some friends--we will do lunch at hte Blue Moon on the Thursday before her divorce hearing we are going to try to keep the day light and happy!!

Hi Jules ~
I just want to go home!! I raided the food bank we have and snuck out a can of pickled beets. I feel so guilty!
I went and looked at that cottage this morning. It is so cute! It has a extra room you could use for a 3rd bedroom. It is in the back of the house. It should probably be a utility room but there is no washer/dryer hook up. We'll see, I need to come up with the 800 deposits. It would be 245 more in rent. I could just do weekend babysitting for that. I don't think that would be a problem.....I can dream at least, huh?? Would love to be a mermaid!! lol
Ever think of journaling?? or blogging?? I was thinking of doing that so I can save you all my dribble.
Have my paycheck in hand!! Going to buy myself a case of beets for mothers day!
Katy - Printed of my registration form for next months vacation bible school. There was also a leadership training (for 12/15 year olds) it is a 15 hour training and afterwards you help up to 20 hours a week at the community center with camps and arts & crafts. I was going to sign up both girls. Sounds like fun and it will build their self esteem and keep em out of trouble!!

k- out of here!!!
