Thanks Nikki. Nice to meet you.
|
Hi everyone...........just flying by, working is annoying busy....the little white box seems to think I weigh another 1/2 lb. LESS....I'm grateful to Goddess Tanita and put in 90 mins. of hard cardio yesterday and 40 mins. this AM.
no gym tonight, have doc. appt. but we'll kick butt tomorrow for sure! Hope everyone is well, I'll catch up later. |
Wow, I'm so glad to see so many new friends on this thread! Makes me feel a little better about not being able to check in consistently these days.
I'm back home for a few days, until heading off to a conference on Friday. My trips were good, but I didn't stay on program (Krispy Kremes for b'fast?) and was too exhausted to work out more than twice. My sinus thing has come back, mostly to my throat and ears this time. I've made an appointment with the dr for Friday AM, so that I can get more antibiotics if I need them. I did go to Curves yesterday, and although I was coughing a lot (and Purell-ing my hands), I got through the workout. Mornings I am sleeping until the last minute, and overall I don't have the energy for much extra physical activity, just going to work and coming home. My sister's lost 22 pounds this year! I think she has been inspired by TV shows like "The Biggest Loser," and wants to be a better role model to her kids. She works nights but still manages to walk a few miles everyday. She doesn't have a specific diet she follows, just making good choices and eatng more fresh fruit and veggies. I am very pleased for her, but this is also an opportunity for a little productive competition! I'll focus on getting better and resting up over my vacation (Puerto Rico, 5/10-17). I should come back energized and ready to crank it up! I don't have time for personals (again!), but I do want to weigh in on the shinsplints: you can ice them, but all you can really do is let them heal, it takes a couple of weeks. Good luck with that--I used to get shin splints, but stopped once I began to slowly increase my walking, wear good walkins shoes, and remember to flex my ankles and the front of my legs as well stretch my calves and thighs. Here's an easy exercise to do at work or while you're watching TV: lift one leg at a time and slowly trace the alphabet with your big toe in the air. Welcome to the newest newbies!:grouphug: judy |
Marble- Nice job on your loss . Keep it up!! :cb:
|
Okay, I had this nice long post and voila, it disappeared. So this one will be shorter. I did finish rebuilding my main work computer and it's finally up and running. I just have to restore my files and install all the programs. That should probably take a chunk of my work day. It's a 3 day work week so that's a nice benefit.
Nikki, you're doing great. BTW, what's the big date on the 27th? I know that's your goal date that we've all adopted but what's the significance of the date for you? Carol, we're doing good. The 1/2 pound loss was a disappointment yesterday, but today I'm thankful for it. I just had to get my head together. Usually that takes a good overnight sleep. Frieday will be better just because then it will be Friday. :) Judy, I hope you feel better soon. I'm sure the traveling isn't helping a lot. You definitely want to feel better by Puerto Rico. That sounds divine. Marble, you go chickie on that exerecise. We're going to bet the fittest thread on 3FC. :) Lyn, welcome. Tell us a little about yourself. Freda, I hope those shins get better. How hard it must be to stay motivated if you can't exercise. Better get going!!! Marie |
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am 41yrs old, married for 17 yrs, no kids. I have been a member of 3FC for quite awhile but haven't found time to really post regularly for the past year. I belonged to a thread with several ladies who posted regularly but got busy with other things and posting became a rarity. I registered again because I can’t seem to change my ticker. I weighed 159 on New Year (highest ever) and decided that this year I’ll make it my mission to be fit and slim again~ I started to exercise and count calories. I was doing really well up until the mid of March. I had lost 16 lbs then I hit a plateau and things have gone down hill since then. I started skipping my daily exercises and eating started to get out of hand every now and then and I was gaining and losing 2-3 lbs. However, I’ve been back on the wagon since May 1 and I’m setting a mini goal: to be in the 130’s by the end of this month. It seems that I have a lot to catch up with, so I better start reading…
|
Hey Lyn, you got back on the wagon. That's what counts. We all hit that plateau wall and fall down. But you got back up so that's great.
BTW, is that a tattoo on your avatar? Marie |
Welcome Lyn
It's great to have someone new here . Well I'm going to try and give up on the scales and only weigh once a week (at the moment I weigh everyday). It depresses me too much to see my weight go up and down, I'm exercising heaps so I think I'm building muscle and the scales aren't really reflecting what is happening with my body.I'm going to start concentrating more on my measurements. |
Judy good to hear from you. I want to go on vacation with you! Sounds like a nice place. Thanks for the info. shins. You will start back on your routine again. I am going away for a 2 day conference in June. My friend and I are really looking forward to it. It is only 2 1/2 hr. drive away but a nice area and the company is paying for our stay. I am to learn more about Dementia and Alzheimers Disease. I have a few older folks on my caseload headed or already in these stages. Any new will be helpful.
Welcome Lynn nice to have another newbie. Your always welcome hear the more the better info. is shared and support for all. Marie I saw on another post that someone is using an exercise ticker. Her goal is like 1200 miles and than its on there of where she is now. Kind of cool I thought. I still haven't figured out how to put the ticker on etc. Oh well I had a great day until last night then I went with the hubby for a sub. and had a few girl scout mint cookies. Okay I feel better its past me now. Today is a new day. Just putting it on my intake, and telling on myself here will straighten me up. I did buy an new kind of salad dressing. It is by Wish Bone and is in a spray bottle so you us less. I think I will refill it later on with my own olive oil, spices and vinegar. But a good idea. A friend at work shared with me. We are supporting each other there too for the most part. It helps when people around you are also doing some dieting. The hubby bought donuts last night I am staying clear away from them the cookies was enough. Still stayed around 1600 cals not great but could of been worse. Chaarli that happened to me too about the scales earlier on. But I want to lose wt. too so how do people do it? I read all the time start walking and lost 10lbs. well if thats so how are they doing it? Cause when I do it I gain muscle which makes me higher numbers on the scale. Oh but GS cookies are of course not my norm. I have no right asking this question today. Anyone got some good advice?????????????????? Marlble good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray! Every little bit helps. |
Morning ladies-
cacmsc- tha dressing sounds like a great idea do you know the name of it? chaarli- I too weigh daily. But I do it to try to see why my weight goes up or down. I use it as a tool. Like the other night I had salt before bed and I went up a lb. I knew it was the salt and made a note not to do that again. If you can do the once a week thing go for it. Having said I weigh everyday I saw another loss today but I won't add it to my ticker until next week. I am aiming for 159 by next week. I can't wait to break free of the 160's! Yesterday I walked 5,737 steps. That is 21,000 steps in 4 days. About 10 miles !!!! Have a good day ladies. Nikki |
Hi everyone,
And welcome Lyn, Always good to hae a new person aboard! I know you will enjoy it here! Judy, Good to hear from you again! Sorry to hear that you're not feeling up to par yet! Those sinisus are a PAIN aren't they? Hope the Dr. can give you something and you're feeling better for your vacation ! Sounds like so much fun. Can I go too? I'll be good, won't party too much, drink too much...oh if I can't do that just forget it! Thanks for the exercise tip for the shin splints. I did see the Dr. yesterday and he gave me a few more to do. I sure don't want this to happen again! Marble, if you don't want that 1/2 lb. I'll take it! Every little bit helps. I know we all want to see more results on the scale but it will come with tiem. Never fast enough is it? cacsmc, in addition to the exercises that Judy gave us for shin splints, the dr. told me to just do calf stretches. Stand a few feet from the wall and put your arms on the wall and lean in. Also good isometric exercise for the arms. Exercise does help gain muscle and lose weight. It also give us an appetite. After a walk you might want to have a little protein, maybe a piece of string cheese or peanut butter. Just a little something. Maybe it will help with the food craving. I feel so much better after I exercise and it doesn't really increase my appetite that much. Plus I don't want to blow it after I have worked out so it gives me a little incentive not to eat. But for all the rest of the benefits your body gets from exercising it's so worth it. Everyont have a good day, Freda |
Newbie to your thread
 Good Morning Everyone,
This thread has been going for quite awhile and when I saw and read your postings I thought I would join in.:carrot: I've just joined :D Weight Watchers again. But, I'm hoping my new approach will work better this time. Things I'm going to change from my past times joining 1] I will stay for the meetings 2] Try to keep track of my points for the day 3] Take one day on the weekend to prepare several meals and freeze them 4] One of already done is join this great website 3FC There is probably more but it's time to head off to work. :comp: All the best to everyone, have a great day. Talk again soon |
Elaine :welcome:
I am Nikki and my weight loss goal is to lose another 7 lbs by May 27 and overall another 32 lbs. Jump right in and post your thoughts. I did weight watchers for awhile and it worked but got to expensive so now I do more of a eating healthy / exercise lifestyle. Nikki |
Hi...quick wts. work-out this AM, did dumbbell sets for 15 mins. Arms, Abs, step-ups, flys, delts.....will hit the gym this afternoon after work for cardio. pushing for 20 mins. on the ellip. and 20 on the treadmill and then some chest and adductor/abductors....I'm on a roll (I hope)!
slim, the 1/2 lb. per day is fine with me, but i didn't weigh today, yesterday I had pizza and a pc. of chocolate and 2 glasses of wine. i was all excited yesterday because my tightest jeans are getting LOOSE! YIPPEE_SKIPPY! |
Hi, new person here, and since you were so nice to Elaine and I'mslim, I thought maybe I could squeeze in, too. :)
My name is Mich (female), and I'm currently 61 pounds overweight. My plan is simply to make sure calories stay at or below 1500 and that I get 30 minutes of any sort of exercise every day. I started my plan on Monday so I'm only four days in... and already I'm terribly impatient for results. eek! I am forcing myself to only weigh once a week though, so I'll just have to tough to it. My hubbie is about 40-60 pounds overweight too, but I'm not sure how committed he is to his plan so I have to be prepared to see alot of crappy food in the house. I need to keep reminding myself that just because the food is there (and he's eating it) that doesn't mean I have to eat it. On a personal note, I have no kids, lots of pets, work as a web programmer, and love books and movies. I look forward to getting to know everyone! |
Thanks again for the warm welcome, :thanks: you guys are so nice.
Marie~yes, my avatar is a tatto that I have on my left shoulder blade. Nikki~I weigh daily for the same reasons - to see/evaluate how food, exercise/activity and menstrual cycle affects my weight, but I will change my ticker only once a week. Freda~I hope the shin is better. I've been doing so well with my eating and exercise since monday, but then I was out shopping today and had chinese for lunch and ice cream for dessert. So with all that sodium, I'm sure the scale will not be good to me tomorrow. I actually feel bloated. Well, anyway my plan is to have a cheat day weekly so I guess it is today. At least I got some kind of exercise from all the walking. Have a great day everyone. |
It's a Wonderful Day!!!
Good afternoon all!!!
Mich, welcome, welcome, welcome. I know we'll be friends just because you have lots of pets and a web programmer. My job is database manager/webmaster for the school district I work for. Oodles of fun. Right now I sort of despise computers. I'm on the 6th rebuild of my main workstation because of policies and other problems. We want to lose about the same amount of weight to. I exercise 3 walking miles per day (about 30 minutes) and I count calories - aiming for about 1400 cals/day. imslim, don't worry about being off just one day. Hope back on the wagon immediately and the day isn't blown. I think once I got past the mentality that if I blow it at lunch, the day is blown and got to I can at least finish the day off good, that made a difference. marble, you are the woman!!! Congrats on the jeans fitting better. That's always the nicest part of the diet. I get excited when my clothes are fitting comfy enough that when I get home from work I don't immediately want to put on my PJs. Elaine, enjoy weight watchers. I made a promise to myself that if I don't succeed in staying on the wagon and losing weight, I was going to join. Since I'm a cheapskate by nature, I'm going to be good. Really good. :D Freda, how are the shins feeling? I'm glad you went to see the dr. Carol, way to go with the donuts and I think GS thin mint cookies only have about 35-40 cals each. So you did good. The donuts would have been bad so you're doing fine. I'm having a good day. It's my Friday since I have tomorrow and Monday off. :carrot: My computers at work are making me mad, but I'm making progress - maybe. I thought it was fine this morning. I'm not sure if it's corrupt OS files or if it's hardware. The problems are so intermittent, who knows? Tomorrow, DH and I are going San Francisco to pay for and pick up the car I bought yesterday. It's about 350 miles away which is close for where I live. So that's not too bad. And it's supposed to be beautiful out. I'm currently adding to my IPod John Grisham's The Broker to listen to. It's about 10-11 hours long, so that will take up a big chunk of the drive. I walked this am and am glad that the alarm won't go off at 5:15 for the next 4 days. YEAH!!! I set my weekend alarm for 6:00 and that 45 minutes is delightful. Back to work. Marie |
Hi tyler welcome to the group!
:welcome: Nikki |
Welcome, welcome, Elaine, Mich, and anyone else I missed in the past week or so! The energy everyone brings is so great, I''m surprised that I don't burn calories just reading your posts! :cb:
I'm feeling a little better today, but the ears are still popping, so I'll go to the doc and hope to get the okay to head off to the conference for the weekend. The site is in New Hampshire, and it looks beautiful and comfy--and there's a big fitness center with a Jacuzzi, so I'll borrow some of Elaine's willpower dust and check it out at least once. I'll need willpower because while I'm learning to walk into any gym like I have as much right to be there as anyone else, I do feel awkward when people I know from other venues are there, which I'm certain will be true in this case. So I'll think of you guys and try to borrow some self-confidence. If I don't get back to check in before Monday, here's wishing all y'all a great weekend! judy |
Elaine and Mich welcome we are pleased to have so many new people on here. The more the more support and ideas as I have said earlier on. Elanie do feel free to share ww ideas or recipes. That is surely a good support system. The salad dressing with in a spray bottle is made by Wish Bone. I have the red wine vinegar one. Its like 26 calories, 1 fat to 10 sprays. It does help to watch how much salad dressing one may use. Marble congrats! Well anyone want to add up our loss together. I also came down 1/2lb. All together we might of really made some progress. My goal for the month is 5lbs. more to go. Oh can I make it??????? So I will take that little loss in hopes for a bigger one next time. Sounds like fishing huh? Caught a little one wanting a bigger one!!!!!!Hah Hah! Just think if I had been good all week with out those little slip ups I might of loss more. Oh the what ifs this morning. I have been using the stairs at work and walking a bit but need to step it up a knotch this week. I did shop a little for a dress so far nothing. I am thinking of maybe a skirt their really in this year and a really nice top of some sort. Even buying the skirt and making a glitzy top. Tonight I am going to a little Mexican party I will becareful of my intake. Also eat less cals for breakfast and lunch. Marie your always so sweet. Thanks and your doing well also. I have to get into my walking only one day so far this week. I had the kids last night and had to take one to a school opening. Oh well there is always another day. It was a good eating day though. I didn't eat the other part of the sub. I ended up throwing it away as it got soggy probably a good move calorie wise. Though I had chinese for lunch I was pretty careful what I put on my plate. But with the higher sodium maybe I would of lost more?
Lynn sometimes we all indulge its what you do afterwards that helps. One time one day isn't going to kill your healthier lifestyle. But jump right back on and continue your journey. Good luck and sometimes giving in to something you want isn't a bad thing just keep it under control. Judy pretend we are with you at the gym I am on your right side all the way. New Hampshire is beautiful enjoy the time there. Usually the gyms in those places aren't that busy. I plan to take my suit and swim when I am away for business next month. Your going to do just fine and you do have the same rights as everyone else. Who knows at some time in the past they might of felt the same way? So take a step in there and enjoy your workout! I am goign to try to lose at least 1.5 by next friday that will be my mini mini goal. Wish me luck. |
Morning ladies-
Well I am down to 160 this morning. Let's just hope I can kee it off plus another pound loss for Wednesday. Hitting 160 makes me know I will meet my May 27th goal. Right now I am hoping to exceed it. That would be awesome. I have not seen below 157 in 5 years! Did I tell you all I started taking CLA tonalin and I think that they may be helping in addition to the walking and healthy eating. By no means isit a miracle pill but it helps. cacmsc- I know you can do it. I wil lose the 1 too good luck to us ! have a great day all Nikki |
Hi all! Thanks for the great welcomes!!
Marie -- Ooooh, another web-geekess, how smashing! It sounds like we've got tons in common. And maybe we'll arrive at goal around the same time, too! Wouldn't that be smashing! Nikki -- Congrats on 160! It sounds like you are totally on track for your May 27th goal! I've never heard of CLA tonalin, what does it do for you? Judydc -- I love New Hampshire, in fact, I love all of New England. I used to live in Vermont and it's so beautiful there. Enjoy your conference. I'm getting ready to go to Mystic, CT in about a week (I have a relative graduating from the Coast Guard Academy). I'm looking forward to the cooler weather up there (I live in Florida). Yesterday was Day 4 for me and it was on plan: ~1200 calories and 30 minutes on my exercycle. I can't wait to weigh in Monday morning, hopefully my efforts will be rewarded on the scale. I am thinking, however, that now that I am feeling a little more in control of my eating that I need to bump up my calories a smidge. I probably need to get some 1500 calories days instead having so many day just below 1200. TGIF everyone! I want to stay strong through the weekend -- I have two restaurant meals on my schedule (Mother's Day celebrations) and need to stay on target at the restaurants! |
Well, boo--I'm still at home. I got a very emphatic "no way" at the doc's office today, so instead of flying I'm hanging out on the couch taking even more powerful antibiotics (possible side effects include "swelling" that won't make it past the 3FC censors) and watching videos. But thanks for giving me some support around walking into a co-ed gym full of colleagues, I'll remember this for the next time.
Tyler, how nice to hear someone looking forward to weigh-ins! You've built some great momentum. But you gave me a fright when you mentioned "Mothers Day" and this weekend in the same sentence. I had to check my calendar to be sure that it's on the 14 and not on Sunday. Let me know if it helps to bump up the calories a bit. The people at Curves say that if you keep moving your calories up and down within a limited range, it keeps your metabolism from stalling. Hope this works for you. Nikki, you go, girl:carrot: . Congratulations on attaining this milestone, that took a lot of hard work. Carol, I hope you enjoyed Cinco de Mayo. I'm up for partying, but maybe I'll put extra salsa on my veggie burger, that's about my speed. Now that I've slowed down for a day, I'm realizing how tired I've been. Anyway, I think that you can reach your goal, you have been making good choices. Okay, back to the couch. I want to be well enough to go on vacation by Wednesday:cool: judy |
Thanks
:thanks: To all of you for the great welcome.
:carrot: Well so far so good, been going out alot lately for dinner. But, I've cut out the gravies, french fries and butter on my buns. Tonight I had Hot Turkey [without the gravy] salad [instead of potatoes]. Even had my salad dressing on the side and dipped each mouthful of salad ever so slightly to the dressing also came with lots of carrots for the vegetable. Plus some cranberry sauce, just a little. Also 2 glasses of water. Tomorrow we are meeting some friends for breakfast. I'm planning on having poach eggs, sliced tomato and toast with no butter. We have got to get some food in the house, so I can start to plan and make up my meals. Well it's time for beddie byes... All the best. Talk again soon. |
Judy so sorry you won't make the trip its a nice area but you go to lots of nice places. Just rest and get better so you can enjoy spring time.
Nikki we are going to do this I love a challenge. I got on the scale and was down 1.5lbs. Now I am trying to not get to excited as yesterday I drank a diet green tea large drink. Maybe that cleaned me out? At any rate I haven't been this low in a month. So if its true numbers and no joke I am back to my loss in March before my trip wt. I hope so. I did pretty good with making choices yesterday. I went to an art show and it was also a little reception. I ate a piece of wine cheese but with only veggies as crackers, fruit, veggies. For lunch the girls ordered out and I purchased a salad with grilled chicken breast, blue cheese and sprayed my dressing on. What they had smelled and looked great but mine was healthier by a long run. Then I had that party I made a bean taco dip to take. It was healthy and went over well. I ate a couple of meatballs, one wing some steamed stuffed noodles and called it a day. Oh one margarita small. Oh then had a small oj and 2 handfuls of popcorn for an evening snack. Not a bad day!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness for making healthier choices i just have to set my mind to that and I can and will do it..... Seeing the scale numbers down was a nice surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully its right. If so 3.5 more til the 27th for a loss wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased a black dress for the evening wedding. Kind of simple I am going to make some jewelry to go with it. Today I have to hem a prom dress and a dress for one of my nieces whom is in the wedding on the 20th. Elaine I love your will power dust! Thanks for a dusting! I go out for breakfast usually one time a week and have poached with dry rye or ww toast. I do have the homefries but only a 1/2 of order. Then have al lighter lunch that day. I am a calorie counter also. So if I add it in its not so bad. I find since I have switched over to whole wheat bread I stay fuller longer indeed. So I guess it does work. Nikki what is the pill your taking? Is it natural? I haven't heard of it? I started taking my tricor again that may of also helped with my loss? Any ideas about that folks? I hadn't taken kit for over a month. Tri problems run in my family no matter what size you are. My skinny little sister of 40 has it too. I call her Barbie she just doesn't no it. I guess I am a little jealous over having to work at my wt...Tyler I have also read about the up and down with calories and shaking up your metabolism rate. I think its a good idea. They say not to go so low on your calories or the body thinks its straving and instead of getting rid of fat it takes away your muscle and you don't want that. Muscle is good for us! Just a bit of info. to think about. Keep up the good work everyone. |
Yesterday was a good day 5 for me with ~1300 calories and a 30 minute walk.
Sorry to scare you, Judy, we are doing our Mom Day celebrations early becuase I'll be up in Mystic next weekend. I'm sorry you can't go on your trip, that is a real bummer. Definitely rest up for your vacation! I'm off to Carrabbas for the first meal out since I started. Aiy aiy aiy! I'm strapping on my armour now! Have a great weekend everyone! |
Yesterday was Day 6 for me. Tomorrow morning I finally weigh in .. yay! I'll get to change my S/C/G number (one way or another)! So far, I have not gone off plan so I should be able to post a nice loss.
So Saturday (Day 6) was ~1200 calories and exercise was a bucket of balls at the driving range followed by 9-holes of golf (no cart) in 91 degree heat. I was exhausted when we got home. I'm a newbie golfer and that means a par 5 hole can take me sometimes up to 15 shots, walking my patoot all over the course as I zig-zag my ball ever- so-slightly closer to the hole! But on several holes I managed to tie my husband -- yay! :) Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! |
Good morning everyone. Sounds like everyone but Judy is doing ood. I sure hope you feel better soo, Judy. Relax so your vacation isn't ruined too. Tyler, sounds like you're enjoying golf. I played when I was in high school but got so mad at it, that I found it was better to stop. I do love going to a driving range and whacking the balls as hard as I can. That's fun.
Carol, you're doing great. You're doing the walking and the dieting. We're both on track. I weighed in on Friday and since we started at the end of April, I have lost 3 pounds. It's a good start. Elaine, i sounds like you're making some good substitutions. Good for you!!! Nikki, what is tomalin? I've never heard of it. Good for you on the May27th goal. I don't think I'll make 10 pounds from when we started, but I've lost 3 so far and any that I can lose would be great. I've totally stayed on track and haven't cheated even once. I have noticed that losing weight in my 40's is way harder than it was in my 20's. Back then I never exercised and now I exercise like a banshee. today is my DH and my 23rd anniversary. We're going to have a quiet day since we drove to San Francisco on Friday to buy and tow back the economy car. It's a very cute, sporty car but the engine needs rebuilding. DH is good at that and will do that next. First he's finishing rebuilding my Jeep's engine. I should be able to drive the Jeep again on Tuesday. Yeah!!! When we were getting the car off the trailer, Iw as helping push it and twanged something in my lower back. So I'm sore and not motivated for much. Last time I hurt my back like this the dr. told me it was a pulled muscle and walking would strengthen it. I think it would be much worse if I hadn't taken his advice and started the walking program. After I pulled it yesterday, we went on a slow 2 mile wlak to keep it limber. We're going to go on another in about an hour. I don't want to lose the muscles I built up and I think it helps to keep moving. We're going to go to the mountain trail and let the doggies run free. that way I don't get pulled by their leashes. Well, that's about it. I'll chat with you soon. Marie |
Marie isn't it handy having hubbies who can fix things. It is always helpful. Glad you got something good on gas and cute too! Hope your back is better today. THat hurts and it takes awhile to heal. Don't over do!
Well I had a good weekend with the intake. On saturday nite we played cards a friend brought a huge coffee cake. It had so much brown sugar topping on it for about 3". I excused myself from not having it and ate a brownie instead at 170 cals. the cake was store bought and the tag read 270 cals. The whole cake which was to serve 23 slices. So normal slice was more like 540 wooo! She wasn't to please I wasn't having a piece so I said sorry I have a wedding to lose for its reading cals for awhile. Sometimes we just have to excuse ourselves I think and its okay to do so we are adults making choices. Not that I will always be good but that day I was in control at least. Tyler good luck on your weigh in. I will do mine on Tues. My daughters and I went shopping for a wedding dress. Oh she looked so pretty I said the heck with the price tag. So she has her dress. Mom and Dad will help with somethings and that was one of them. I think it might of been my kayak money oh well. Thats life! Off to work! |
Morning Ladies-
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a nice one I went away for the weekend. I managed to weigh everyday and was a steady 160 but this morning I am up to 163. I think the salt I had and lack of water is catching up with me. I am not to bummed I am sure by Wed my weigh in day I wil be back down to 160. Today I get back on track. I did not even eat Alot over the weekend just very salty foods. Oh well.... here is to a good week! Nikki |
Good morning all!
And happy anniversary to you Marie! I'm sorry to hear about your back, I think the walking is a great idea! What kind of Jeep do you drive? I used to drive a Wrangler, and I loved it. I miss it, even though I do like my current convertible. Nikki, I think you are right about it being just water fluctuation. Did you go away somewhere fun over the weekend? Cacmsc, good job on turning down the coffee cake -- that takes real will power and it sounds like you had that in spades. I can't believe a friend would pressure someone to eat CAKE of all things -- and a store-bought one no less! Way to go on making your own choices! Yesterday was my Day 7, and it was right on plan with ~1350 caloris and 30 minutes of walking. This morning I weighed in -- I've lost 9 pounds this week! :carrot: Just goes to show how bloated I was from all the crappy, salt-laden food I was eating. Given how much I was binging at the time, I could have had almost three pounds of food actually IN my stomach when I first weighed! ;) Anyway, I'm happy. I know it's mostly water at first, but given how good my deficit has been every day and the fact that I've worked out every day this week I'm betting at least 3 to 4 of it was real body fat. I can definitely feel the difference in my clothes -- getting rid of the bloat is SO nice! So week one is over. I'll never have another "day one" and I'll never be as fat as I was on that "day one" (the power of positive thinking don't you know). Yippee! Onward to Week Two and hopefully it will be as healthy as the first one was! |
Hi Everyone, I hope your Monday is going great.
My back is feeling a little better. Just mostly stiff. We're going to take the doggies back to the mountain and go hiking again. It helps not having the dogs on leads, they don't pull on the back muscles then. Then there's a little store that I can stop at and get a fountain Diet Pepsi. My favorite way to have a soda. Tyler, my Jeep is a 1976 CJ5 Renegade. I've had a couple other ones, including a 98 Wrangler and this one is my favorite. It's been totally restored and now that DH has rebuilt the engine, it'll go forever. I love taking the top off it in the summer. And Tyler - way to go on the 9 pounds. I wish I could lose 9 pounds in a week. Oooooh that would be excellent. I have today off and only work 3 days this week. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so that will be nice. Carol, tomorrow is both of our weigh ins. Down lots of water today and hopefully tomorrow the white box will be nice. Good job on saying no to the high calorie cake. Amazing how revealing those labels are. Nikki, good luck on Wednesday. Maybe the scale will be nice and you'll get to 159. ;) Well, I'll chat with you all later. Have a great day!!! Marie |
Hey, everybody--
I'm plugging along at work today, coughing a bit but getting better. Can't wait to get on the plane Wednesday morning :smug: Still not working out, but luckily the antibiotic I'm taking makes me somewhat nauseous, so I'm not doing a lot of snacking. Spent most of the weekend napping and watching TV (sometimes at the same time), how decadent! And started packing beach stuff. Tyler, nine-pound loss! Woo-hoo! That's wonderful. Keep it going! Marie, I hope you have nice weather today. the Klamath Falls area is beautiful, with all the waterfalls and everything, but I would have a hard time with all the rainy, gray days. Nikki, don't let the scale get you down. The day-to-day fluctuations aren't what matter as much as the week-to-week, and more importantly the month-to-month. You are doing great, no matter what happens at the weigh-in. Carol, you are such a good mom, sarificing your kayak money for a wedding dress! Although a better use of the money might be buying the kayak and making your daughter wear it down the aisle, since she'd only wear her dress once, anyway, and you'd both get more use out of a kayak. Just a suggestions:dizzy: Elaine, I think it's great how you're planning your meals. I love being spontaneous, saying, "Oh, how 'bout something Italian today?" So when I'm in the zone (which I'm not at the moment) I plan my b'fast, lunch and snacks, but keep enough food stocked at home so that I have fun options for dinner. I think I'd rather stay fat than consider eating Lean Cuisines or the 'diet plate' for every meal for the rest of my life. Okay, back to work. I have lots to do here before vacation starts, but I'll try to check in one last time. Puerto Rico is famous for rum drinks, fired plantains and wildly unhealthy foods like mofungo, so I'll need a boost from you all before I go. Take care--judy |
Hats off to you Tyler great job. On the other hand my scale wasn't as friendly this a.m. but most likely from the salty coney and a few chips I let in my system. That will teach me a lesson. Best to grab myself up at this point than days later. So its becareful time and realize yah just can't have certain things I guess. Oh in moderation it doesn't hurt as long as we jump back in. Yah have to be naughty once in awhile. So today I will be good as gold and go walking too. Nikki we both need to hang in there could be from salt or just our bodies being tricky. Lets not get down forward march girl. I am with yah all the way along with everyone else. Today I have closely monitored my food plan. I am having a piece of whole wheat toast w/ orange marm. for breakfast. Snack- 2 Tbls. dip with carrot sticks measuring of course. Lunch- spinach salad w/strawberries, croutons, feta cheese and spray dressing. S- Apple Dinner- grilled marinated chicken breast/ steamed spinach w/little butter and vinegar/ baked potatoe. S-? but something healthy.
Judy glad your feeling better now don't over do it. Take it slow are bodies need time to recover. Judy if you over indulge a little take a swim or a little longer walk. Going there sounds so exciting. My daughter and son are going to do house swaps for her honeymoon next year. He will stay here at her home she will fly to Hawaii and stay there. Now how cool will that be other than plane tickets. They will use each others cars and houses and take care of each others pets. I like it so creative in all. She being a photographer will love Hawaii. I plan on prepaying for some lovely restaurants ahead of time for them. Also some events in the area. That will be fun for when they go away. Oh my 84 year old mom wanted a 5 min. fold up exercise equipment she saw on t.v. oh now that was hard to talk her out of. I agree with exercise but gee! At 84 just take it easy I say! I had to becareful how I handled that one. Gotta love her! hAVE A SUPER DAY! LETS KEEP MOVING GIRLS i AM NOT GOING TO LET THAT LITTLE WHITE SCALE STOP ME OR MAKE ME FEEL DOWN. AFTER ALL WHEN IT TURNS THE NUMBERS DOWN IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Yesterday was day 8 for me, a good on-plan day. I can't wait to get into the double-digits! With ever day that passes I tell meself I will never be as fat again as I was on that day, that only healthier, thinner days are ahead! :)

Thank you everyone for the support. Yesterday I jumped right back on track and already today I saw 161.0 so I am sure I will be at 160 tomorrow.
Tyler - congrats on the 9 lbs . That is alot of weight please be sure to stay healthy while losing. I did my weights this morning and will have breakfast shortly. My goal today is breakfast, lunch , a snack I usually do a bananna and then dinner. Also I am aiming for 5 32 ounce water bottles. Here is hoping the results show tomorrow. cacmsc- forward march is absolutely what I plan to do. Twice a month I go out to my boyfriends for the weekend and he just loves his food. I can usually avoid salt but this weekend we had Japanese <very salty> and then I had some fries from Wendys which are loaded. Nikki |
Morning everyone, the white scale was nice to me this morning. Another pound bit the dust. That's 4 pounds total. Yeah!!! We went walking yesterday with dogs and it was great. My back is just still a little stiff and I'm babying it so it gets better quick. I've decided I really want to walk outdoors more than doing my indoor WATP so I didn't get up early and exercise this am before work. DH has already agreed to walk with me after work. It's just so nice out. I wish I could walk outdoors in the am before work but it's just too cold (had frost on my windshield this am) because of the altitude.
Carol, good luck with the next weigh in. You can do it and enjoy your walk. Nikki, good luck with the weigh in tomorrow. Just don't eat Japanese food tonight. :) Tyler and Judy, oh how I wish I could be loosey goosey with food. But everytime I am, I gain loads of weight. I guess in this life I just have to be disciplined 95% of the time. Time to work. I'll chat with you later. Marie |
Hey all
Well after starting off really well last week I blew it and now have to satrt again. I'm going to tackle this one pound at a time and work on making good choices and drinking my water. I have my exrcise under control now it's just time to get the food there too. I'm also going to make the effort to not weigh in everyday but I'm not sure if I can manage that one. Maybe I'll try every second day this week and then drop it down week by week until I only weigh once a week. I'm a complete scale junky and I think it makes me worse. |
Tyler healtier eating can also be interesting. You just have to be creative. Hang in there. I like lots of foods to and can be tempted beyond belief if its around in front of me. Times will get easier!
Nikki I am with you on the march! Maybe preplanning to eat a little less cals the day before you go away and exercise more. Go for your weekend try to be eat the foods but portion control jump back on track the day you come back. Eat a little wiser and increase the exercise for a day. Ck it out maybe it will help just an idea. Glad you had a loss. Marie thanks for the support. I am back down today and now I have lost 4.5lbs since 4/24. Thank goodness a few of those lbs. had jumped on and I didn't even know til I used that scale. See I do need it to ensure thats not happening. Maybe the lbs. I was up yesterday were do to salty foods. I did induldge a bit over the weekend as well. I did well with my intakes yesterday. I enjoyed my foods but watched what I ate. I measured my dip for my carrot sticks. I am doing better with label reading to ensure I am not adding extra cals. on thinking its a serving and its 2 etc. I'm enjoying strawberries lately as they are coming in fresh. Little lite cool whip and I have myself a nice snack. This is my lowest pt. since last fall. Lets see if I can move my scale numbers a little more for the week. I did walk 4 miles and jogged part of the way yesterday. Walking without my friends seems to take longer but time wise I have beat my record. Yesterday was 45 min. So the jog helps! I am trying to go again today working on my 10 miles a week goal. Well same lunch as yesterday it was great. Spinch salad and strawberries etc. Good luck girls. I have 3lbs. to lose by the 27th and I have a wedding shower this weekend and a wedding next. Busy times lots of food. I will make sure I get in exercise before and after those days. Thanks for your support in this journey. Judy I hope you have gone on vacation now? |
