Morning all!

Nikki, I bet you'll hit that 157 next week. Man, I'd give me right leg for 157! Of course if I gave my right leg I'd be alot closer to actually weighing 157. ;)

Hang in there Chaarli! It's not like all the work you've put in has gone to waste. You may be "starting over" but really you've just had a detour. By the way, I would drive myself batty weighing every day. Ack! I am aiming for every week until I get to within 10 pounds of my goal... otherwise the scale would dictate my whole day!

Cacmsc, I know you're right that things will eventually get easier as I get habituated to these lifestyle changes. I look forward to it!

Marie, you're really making me loooooong for a Jeep again!

Yesterday was Day 9 -- and on plan: ~1350 cals and 30 minutes biking. I'm FINALLY feeling a decrease in appetite. I wonder why that happens? I thought the "shrinking stomach" thing was a myth so I don't understand why I'm not ravenous like I was on Day 1. I'm not complaining, mind you, I'm just curious as to why I don't feel that major hunger any more. It sure is a relief!

Today is Day 10, yippee! I'm into the double-digit days and all of them completely on-plan!

Nikki128 05-10-2006 09:21 AM

Tyler - you are doing great on plan. Keep it up !

marbleflys 05-10-2006 02:58 PM

Hi everybody.......I've MIA it's my busiest time at work (and I've been playing too).........I'm down 4 lbs. of the 6 I promised to Nikki....and am wearing skirt #6 that hasn't seen my hips since 2003....

TTYS, I'll be back....(like arnold in the Terminator)

Nikki128 05-10-2006 07:16 PM

Woohooo congrats Marble :) We are on the road !!

Elaine1951 05-10-2006 11:07 PM

WW - WI Ya Hooooo!!!!!

:carrot:
First week YEAH!!! Lost 4.6 lbs. and I wasn't really that hungry. Some rough periods but I made it through. Well, let's see what next week brings. I know, I know don't expect a loss like that all the time.

But, I'm very happy:D . My first step has been made. I'm enjoying staying at the meetings. The ladies are really nice and I really like the leader Nancy. She remembers me from joining before, she smiles at me gives me a thumbs up and welcome back.

Well it's time for bed, I just couldn't wait any longer to come in let you know and finally be able to change my online tracker.

Goodnight and all the best.

chaarli 05-11-2006 01:04 AM

Way to go Elaine that's a great start to your weight loss journey.

cacmsc 05-11-2006 07:13 AM

Girls we have so much good energy on this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets keep it up we motivate and support each other and the results are endless! I think we are all doing well on the journey to lose and keep it off. Even when we lose slow its fine actually better for keeping it off they say. I did the square this morning and stayed the same but that is fine. I didn't figure after just having my loss I would have another. I did well calorie wise yesterday. I had one no no and that was 1/2 of a halfmoon cookie. But all in all did well for the day. I feel great!
Elaine congrats on your loss. Any good tips from ww would be appreciated here. Every little bit of knowledge or ideas is helpful.
Tyler keep it up!
Nikki your going to make it I am sure. Just keep up the healthy eating and exercise. I started parking in the last lot at work to get a bit of a longer walk in. I like it time to breath deeply before handling stress for the day. I have had a week or so of extra stress handling at work. Taking new clients on that haven't had services for over 40 years! You start from square 1 but in the end it will be rewarding and the family can't thank me enough. Its a good feeling. At least I haven't turned to food. I have also been busy in the evenings and that helps to stay away from snacking.
Marble your awesome too! Keep finding your old skirts before you know it you will have a whole new wardrobe!!!!!!!! I am going to buy myself something new after work. I think I deserve it after my loss and I have a wedding shower to go to this weekend. It will help remind me how good I am feeling and keep me in line.
Judy hope your relaxing on the beach somewhere.
Marie how's it going? I want to take that jeep for a ride myself! Fun fun!
Gotta go make my ww toast with orange marmalade. Oh I have been putting my 80 cal. yogurt in the freezer for a little while. It is like my frozen treat at work. Ymm
Maybe we should all have a day of putting down something thats working for us. Ideas may help promote another for a loss. Food idea? Exercise? Stress dealings? What do you all think?????????????
Have a super day!

Nikki128 05-11-2006 08:02 AM

cacmsc A new outfit is a real nice treat. I am planning to treat myself to a new outfit next week for my big date on the 27th. Although I may wear a skirt from the past if it still fits which I doubt.

Yesterday I had an awesome day. I walked 3.5 miles and ate healthy. My nrew goal is to walk 21 miles a week. I already walked 10.5 this week. I figure all of that walking alone would tone me up. Combine that with eating healthy, swimming and weights 130's here I come. I can't wait to set my next weight goal on may 27 once I reach that one.

Ohhh... I finished my semester yesterday and got a 101% in my course woohoo. I am going for my Masters and had been working my butt off.Yay me !

Have a good day ladies

Nikki

Mrs Snark 05-11-2006 08:38 AM

Congratulations Elaine, that's wonderful!

Mrs Snark 05-11-2006 08:43 AM

Wow, Nikki, congratulations of the 101%. You're the gal who blows the curve, aren't you! Great job!

Day 10 went by without a hitch. A few random urges to binge eat for some reason, I think in response to life stress at the moment, but I didn't give in and I'm SO glad I didn't. Instead of waking up and feeling miserable this morning, I woke up and felt great about not giving in yesterday. That's SUCH a good feeling. yay!

Today is Day 11... I'm starting to get nervous because I have a trip next week and I'm afraid that being out of town will screw me up. I hope not.

Nikki128 05-11-2006 09:15 AM

Tyler- Think positive. Try to pre plan what you will allow yourself to have and what you won't. Also if you do go off plan don't fret just jup back on plan when you get home. You are doing great and I know you will continue to do well.

Nikki

the slim me 05-11-2006 09:51 AM

hi

Good morning evryone,
I've been MIA for awhile too. Just too busy, no excuse. I've missed reading the posts, I find such inspiration here. My shin splint is a little better, I can walk without limping and pain now. I haven't tried to walk for exercise yet. I did go for a little extra walk yesterday at work, just to one of the out building to have my TB test read, but it was quite a distance. In the end I could tell the leg was protesting, so I guess it's not 100% yet. I can continueing with my weights.

Tyler, I will always have issues with food too.I know from the past that I can't ignore it. I have done that before and gained the weight back. I have to be dilligent and expect this group to keep me in line if I start to fall!

nikki, Glad to hear that you ae back on tract and losing weight again! And congrats on the GRADE too!

Marie,. Yeah for you! Another pound bites the dust! I love walking outdoors in the spring and summer and fall. I use the treadmill in winter becuse I have to!

Charie, Pretend those other times you started were for practice and this time you are goignt o get it right!

Casmsc, Hope you find a beautiful new dress to wear to the shower. and i'm sure the lb. will be gone. You're doing great! I think giving some advise or tip at the end of our posts is a great ideal. Thanks for the one about the frozen yogurt. I'm trying that tonight.

Marble. Good luck on fitting into that size 6 skirt. Dig out some of those older clothes. I bet they fit now! You can expand your wardrobe a lot just going into your closet.

Elaine. WOO HOO! 4.5 lb loss! That is just awsome!

have a good day eveyone. Freda

My tip for today is: When you bring snacks home divide them into individual portions.

chaarli 05-11-2006 03:56 PM

My tip for the day
If you have a treadmill make sure it's in front of a tv & video.
I video tv shows and then watch them the next morning while I walk 1 hour of tv = a 40 minute workout the time goes by so fast and you don't even notice it.

Tip 2 :It really does help not to eat after 7.30-8.00 pm. I get much faster results if I curb my eating at that time.

Mrs Snark 05-11-2006 04:26 PM

Good tips gals!

I have my exercycle in front of my big screen tv -- makes the living room decor look dumb, but what the heck. Watching a show sure does make the time pass fast.

I also don't eat after 8 pm. But I hear that other people do better with a small late-evening snack. I don't eat one because I'm always afraid that will be the moment I lose control and ruin my day.

Currently I'm not buying snack items, but if I do I'll definitely do the portion split idea!

Mrs Snark 05-11-2006 04:28 PM

Nikki, I've spent the day planning my eating strategies for my trip and I've even committed myself to walking as often as family will allow to get my exercise in. It is supposed to be beautiful in Mystic so it should be fun to walk and hike around.

I hope I can turn the whole trip into a positive. It would feel so good to come back and have enjoyed a vacation that didn't have anything to do with stuffing my face!

Marie 05-11-2006 05:05 PM

Hi everyone, just a quick check in. Work is busy. Since i'm stuffing 5 days of work into 3 days, it's a little hectic. Things are going good. I'm walking outside these days. Way hard climbing the hilly mountains than in my living room. :) Tomrrow is weigh in. sounds like everyone is doing great staying on track. Nikki, this challenge has helped us all.

My tip: read labels - note the calories and serving per container. It's amazing how many manufacturers say there are 2 servings in a small package that the normal person would consider one serving. So it doubles the calories. I've made that mistake before. Also, exercise goals work. :)

Marie

cacmsc 05-12-2006 07:27 AM

Nikki congrats on the grads its not so easy to accomplish and your did it with great grades! You will lose your wt. be patient. I only have a 10 mile goal and some weeks its tough to make. Good luck! Didn't buy my outfit yet couldn't find anything I really loved.
The keeping track of my intake is really working for me. I am down another 1/2lb. it all adds up in the end so the little loss is fine. I have only 2.5 to go to make my 5/27 mini goal. That is a 5.0 loss since 4/27. I am so pleased and it motivates me to continue on my journey.
Freda good tip and nice to hear from you.
Chaarli good tips also. Keep up the good workout.
Marie I agree with you I think some of my loss is because I recently started to read my portions on labels a bit closer. Yesterday the boss brought in a snack for our meeting. I read the calories and decided I could have some but only a portion size would cost me 200 cals. So that is what i had. The snack was good and I was in control of the portion. It does make a huge difference. I don't like to go without but fit it into my calories for the day. Yesterday was around 1400 so I am doing okay. I switched to whole wheat bread also making sure its 100% ground whole wheat 1st ingredient listed. It seems to keep me full longer and that helps. Oh I left my yogurt in the freezer overnight by mistake at work. It unthawed and tasted the same. OOOOppps. I am preplanning my foods closely today knowing I am going to a wedding shower on saturday. I am shooting for around 1350 today. I am making a shrimp cocktail for tonight and broiled fish of some sort, broc. steamed and a salad. Snack will be strawberries with lite cool whip and a few almonds crunched up. Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rainy here! Maybe a trip to the gym is in order.

Mrs Snark 05-12-2006 07:32 AM

Morning all! Yesterday was Day 11 for and I was on-plan with food but got no exercise, so I need to pull a double on that today. A nice loooong walk should do it. I'm getting close to my two week point, can't wait to put that week to bed and start on week three....

A tip, a tip, a tip... I can't think of anything, ummmmm. How about: "always look at the bright side of life...." :)

Nikki128 05-12-2006 09:29 AM

Morning ladies-

cacmsc Great job on your loss. wish I were at 2.5 more I have 4.4 to go but I am determined I have 15 days I am sure I can do it. I know what you mean about the outfit. i found a great slip dress in my closet I will wear I just need to find a little jacket for my arms. I'm thinking a bright little one I have to look next week.
Tyler Hang in there girl you are doing great and will see week 3 before you know it.

Today I am bummed. I thought for sure I would see 159. Well my digi scale is holding steady at 160.0 and my regular old scale says I weigh 158. I don't know which scale to believe. I have dropped the digi on several ocassions and don't know if that affects the weight. I walked 7,754 steps yesterday 1,754 over my goal for 3.5 miles. My total for the week is 29352 steps or roughly 5 miles so far only 6 more miles to go to meet my goal. I never thought I would be able to walk 21 miles in a week but I'm really doing it.

*edited to say * I figured the scale thing out. The floor in my bedroom is not as steady as the floor in the bathroom. I took the digi in the bathroom and weigh 159.4 still a little discrepency but I'll weigh in the bathroom from now on. The tiles there are so steady.

Does anyone know how to post pictures? I cannot get them small enough to post and still visible. I found great before and after pictures I wanted to show you ladies. Any help would be appreciated.

Have a great one ladies

Nikki

Marie 05-12-2006 02:27 PM

Hi everyone, well weighin was good. I lost another 1/2 pound bringing the total to 4.5 pounds gone. Yeah!!! :carrot: To say the least, my friends here on this thread are a big reason why.

Carol, you and I look to be losing at about the same rate. Here's a big :carrot: for you too!!! Good for you on portion control on the unexpected snack. When I'm in the dieting groove, I don't like to be sidetracked. So it's great that you kept right on.

I did something fun this am. I ordered accessories for my iPod. Okay, most wouldn't think that's fun, but I got myself a waterproof case, waterproof headphones and a neoprene armband to hold the case and ipod. Why you ask - I have a pool and have always wanted music to swim laps to. So I found this stuff and I'm going to have fun this summer  . At the moment, the pool is too chilly to swim in - about 65 degrees. But the solar heating system has been put up for the year (DH did that) and it's heating nicely. Two weeks ago it was 50 degrees. Anyway, I decided my self serving children (marble definitely knows my woes with that) would never recognize Monther's Day and it sort of bummed my out yesterday when I saw the mother's day gifts on display at the store. So this morning I decided to buy myself something. So my ipod is going to go swimming with me. :D

Tyler, you are so right wiht your tip. Look on the bright side. In my 20's and younger I was pretty negative, then I realized the only person it was making miserable was me. So I made a conscience effort to change my views. Now it comes pretty naturally. Case in point - yesterday DS's GF told me she's contemplating dropping out of school since the baby was born and it's gotten hard. Other than I don't get that, I was mad. DH and I converted a chunk of our house for them so they could all live here while DS and she finish college and can then provide stability for our grandson. So all this was done, they move in, etc and she decides to drop her part of the agreement. It seems stupid o me, but then I realized that there would be a big side benefit to this. Big, big benefit. DS will graduate next spring (May 07)and there are no software engineering jobs in the town we live so he was going to have to wait until Dec. 07 to look for a job out of town. So if she quits, they can move in a year. Mean as it may sound, I want my house and quiet back so there was a bright side. Now it doesn't bother me at all, In fact, I'm sort of all for it. ;)

Nikki, the way I post pictures is I put them on my website, then click on the picture icon in the Advanced Posting part of this thread. Then I put the link to the picture on my website and voila it's there. If you don't have a site, i'd be happy to put the picture on mine (although it wouldn't be visible on the website, just that you would have a link to it). Just PM and I'll give you my email. Also, the scale issue - I found once that I got very erratic scale numbers when we lived in a house with carpet. The scale on the carpet made the readings all over the place. So I think you figured out that a stable, firm surface is the key. Took my a while to figure out why my wieght fluctuated by 5 pounds every day. So you're quicker than I was.:D

Freda, take it easy on the leg. Don't push it or you'll really set yourself back. Small steps.

Chaarli, I like using my exercycle in front of the big screen with a concert in the DVD player. Nice upbeat music and a gigantic TV to distract me and the time flies.

Elaine, way to go on the big weight loss. Keep up the great work!!!

Marble, hope your work calms down. All work, no play makes marble a sad chickie.

I hope everyone's weekend is great!!!!
Marie

Mrs Snark 05-12-2006 06:27 PM

Marie -- you need to get an iDog. Have you seem them? So cute, I'm a sucker for anything animal related. Then you can get him (or her) a "chill set". Kind of stupid but somehow cute at the same time... I think they are aimed at the teen crowed. And yet I'm 38. Clearly, I haven't grown up yet. ;)

I'm just about to order my Zen Vision since I currently have a super old and crapper player. I'm going to ask for the iDog as a bday gift later this year. I'd love it have it at the office (since I can't bring any of my real four dogs there)...

Marie 05-13-2006 03:44 PM

Tyler, I looked at the iDog and it is cute. Maybe some day... I know what you could do, put your doggies barking on your MP3 player then play the iDog. :)

I'm having a fun day. We went hiking and got a good workout. It's absolutely beautiful out. I've been listening to an audiobook and doing a little cleaning. I'm trying to do a little cleaning each day I have off. I'm thinking then it won't be so overwhelming.

We're having a BBQ tonight. I've already mapped out my calories. I'm going to have a small burger and some oven cooked fries. Yummy!!!

I counted out how long until I go to Minnesota (9 weeks) and I figure if I lose a pound a week, I'll be below where they all saw me at Christmas and last summer. So that would be good. Definitely a reasonable goal.

Well off to Wally's world. I need to get the BBQ stuff.
Marie

chaarli 05-14-2006 06:27 PM

Morning all just come back from my big walk which got the blood pumping so that was great.

Nikki128 05-15-2006 08:08 AM

Morning ladies-

Well I mesed up another weekend. Last minute I decided to go to my boyfriend's place. I seem to lose control of eating when there. I had 2 slices of pizza fpr lunch saturday and chicken and rice for dinner. Then, yesterday I had 2 bananas, chocolate, and pretzels and 1 cup of pasta for dinner. I managed to pass on the ice cream cake at that point I was so mad at myself for eating the rest of the junk. I am so scared I won't meet my goal for May 27. The only thing I can do now is really stick with it this week and next. I still have 12 days to lose the rest of the weight about 5 lbs. I did not get on a scale today because I am afraid of what the number will show. I got up and did my ball exercise so that is good. Ohh yea last week I walked a total of 21 miles woohoo I met that goal.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Nikki

Marie 05-15-2006 01:08 PM

Morning everyone, it sure is quiet around here the last few days. I hope everyone had a great mother's day. We went to Applebee's for dinner and I had their WW Steak Teriyaki for 460 cals and it was great. I stayed in my calories all weekend and holidays are definitely hard. I went hiking both days and just had an overall good time. I have today off and I'm hungry - and it's only 10 in the am. I hate hunger pains. :(

Nikki, good luck the next 12 days. Keep working at it and it'll come. You know that if you don't quite make the 10 pounds youre still way ahead of where you were a month ago. So don't get down on yourself.

Chaarli, good job on the walk.

Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm hoping for more of a loss (well duh...). I've been good with eating, exercise and water. Definitely I'm on track to lose.
Marie

Nikki128 05-15-2006 01:14 PM

Mmarie-

good luck with your weigh in tomorow. You did a great job staying on track for the holiday. I got on he scale today and am only up a pound which I figure I can drop by tomorrow so hopefully I will see 150's this week. It is 1 :15 and I have only had 200 calories so far. I always do better during the week.

Nikki

cacmsc 05-16-2006 07:15 AM

Hello everyone! Oh it seems like everyone is on a roll here keep it up. Nikki sometimes it takes our bodies time to adjust to the wt. just lost so don't worry more will come off. Its also very hard when we are out with pizza around. Friday nite a friend invited us over and we played pool. I had 1 stuffed slice of pizza and 5 wings. Well now thats not what I planned. But for the rest of the weekend I really was pretty good. I did have some sweets but watched the amt. along with the other food intake. No walking but lots of gardening. We spend mothers day at my 84 yr. old moms. All of my siblings and their children catch up mom for spring on planting flowers weeding and cleaning up the place. It is now a tradition. We all bring food to pass. Mom loves it and it really helps her out. The grandkids are learning to help a little but mostly play. So I have burned plenty of cal. this weekend and yesterday. I took a sick day and did a catch up around my own gardens. They look pretty good and ready to mulch. So more labor to come. I do need to get to the gym it is rainy here for the week. I will do my scale on wed. and fri. this week,I feel good and we'll see about the numbers. After all every little bit counts. Oh it was a nice mothers day. My son from Hawaii sent me a dz. roses and to both of his sisters. Then I got a couple of new tops from one daugther and a hanging yellow flower from the other. Gee I should of had some more kids this was like christmas. The hubby got me my grape bushes and we planted them along with some lilacs from moms house. Well glad everyone is hanging in there. Talk to you soon gotta go make a healthy lunch! I have to go to work today but yesterday seemed so nice I stayed home all day no running anywhere.

the slim me 05-16-2006 07:44 AM

Good Morning everyone,

Hope everyone had a wonderful mothers day! Mine was very nice, I had asked for a family picture and we went and had them made. Of course we went totally overboard with the pictures. It's hard to get my husband out so we had lots made. I had my DIL a braclet made of the swarkorski (not spelled right) crystal with the kids names on it. and a little braclet for my GD too.

I have been doing ok. Still not breaking any marathons with exercise, taking it slow and easy with lots of stretching. It's been raining so much here that I haven't gotten out for any walks.

cacsmc, What a wonderful tradition you and your family are starting, having a day of clean up for your mother! Children learn by seeing and they are learning so much from that...respect, love, and lending a helping hand

Marie, You did well staying within your calories at Applebees! They have some nice selections to help, don't they! Wish more restaurants would come out with some calorie wise chocies.

Nikki, I'm crossing my fingers that you meet your goal. But, even if you don't quite get there, every pound lost is a pound lost!!!

Everyone, make this a good day, Freda

Nikki128 05-16-2006 09:17 AM

Morning ladies-

Yesterday, I had a really good day. I met my 7,000 steps plus another 600. Also, I ate well. This morning I weigh the same as I did last week so I didn't gain much. I decided I will weigh in on fridays from now on. My goal day is May 27 and the closest I can get to that day is Friday the 26th. 11 days to go and 5 lbs to go!

I hope everyone is doing well

Nikki

Marie 05-16-2006 12:40 PM

Hi everyone, Well my 4 day weekend is over and I'm back at work. The scale showed a .5 pound loss so I'll take that. I'm up to 5 pounds on the journey. Many, many more to go. :(

Exercise is still good. I think that I have that down to a fine habit. I like it - but then I'm walking outdoors and I love that. Tonight after work DH and I will go for a long walk.

Carol, good luck on the weigh in tomorrow. Mine was okay, but for some reason, I tend to have more success on Fridays. Strange. Cool Mother's Day tradition your family has. Enjoy the "Christmas".

Nikki, good luck on the remaining 5 pounds for the goal. I've pretty much accepted I won't make 10 pounds by the 27th - I'm hoping for another 2-3 pounds. Still way better than I was at the end of April.

Freda, you should post your family picture. That's sounds cool. Good luck with the exercise.
Marie

cacmsc 05-17-2006 07:30 AM

Freda thanks for your thoughts and I also think its a good experience for the kids. I said to my little grandson maybe someday you will be helping me. He looked at me and said grandpa is older than you! Out of the mouth of babes! I love it! He also asked me how the robins eggs get bule? I think he was associatating it with easter eggs and us coloring them. Cute I say! I enjoy little kids and all their thoughts they never hold back just ask! Nice idea with the family picture. I need to take my camera this weekend and get some pictures of my kids all dressed up. Maybe even get one for the hubby and I. I have a wall in my walkway with pictures all over it time for some changes in there.
Freda the braclets sound beautiful. I still have to whip up some jewelry to go with my outfit for the wedding this weekend. I did manage to get my hair cut after work. I am not getting my highlights done yet they still are okay. I will just color it myself. New style kind of short for me anyways but stylish. I like when I can recreate what the hairdresser did the day before. Sometimes I never get it right this time it seemed easier.
Nikki I walked to the main office at work yesterday from my office not real far but down and up a hill and then some also 20 steps up and back. It is a good walk I should do it daily. At any rate thought of you and counted my steps after 300 I stopped but they do add up quite nicely. Maybe I will get a step counter you are doing great with it. Great job and keep it up. I am going to walk this afternoon if the rain holds off. I have two appts. and will be by the walk way not my normal place but a nice hike and I will have my sneakers with me. Yesterday I never got to the lake to walk. Since gardening I haven't been walking as much. At least I am still exercising though. I haven't written my intake since saturday. So today I am starting again it really helps me and that makes helps with results. Yesterday wasn't too bad but I ate salty sauerkraut and a hot dog , little brownie leftovers glad their gone now. Can't have that stuff around or I get into it. Maybe freezing it til company comes over would work or sending home with the kids. No scale today because of my salty foods yesterday I didn't think it was a good day to try it. Maybe I will wait til friday in hopes of a loss this week. Back on track today trying to send myself a life saver. Marie your doing well keep it up. See now you have the exercising and food in order the results are following. Nikki even if we don't reach our goals you started us on this journey with an incentive which worked for us. So after the 27th we'll need another goal. Thanks.

Nikki128 05-17-2006 09:34 AM

cacmsc-
That is awesome that you walked. I am really enjoying it. I say get a step counter ! I am using a real primitive one but I am thinking of getting one that shows the calories I burn too. I have a second goal in mind already. I want to get to 148 by July 4th.

This morning I had 2 eggs and worked out on my ball. I walked 7,558 steps yesterday woohoo . I really hope I see a loss on friday.

Marie- Anything you lose is better then nothing.

Nikki the journaling my intakes yesterday was a little more control in all. I think that a step counter is a good idea. Does it also figure out miles? Just wondered. Have fun shopping. Eggs aren't so bad for us a great protein. Breakfast is so important. They say people whom eat breakfast start their metabolism flowing earlier in the day. So I try not to miss it. I have changed over though to whole wheat toast and sometimes Life whole wheat cereal. So I use up around 300 cals. Lunch lately is a salad w/ tuna or protein, croutons for a crunch. For mothers day my one daugther bought me a new pair of linen pants cocoa color. I tried them on this morning they are so comfortable. Size 10 maybe someday I will see a 8. Now that would be something. I am 5'7'' and a bit on the bigger bone side. If I lose what I want in the long run an 8 might be my size on the bottom. But with these football player shoulders I will always need a M-Lg on top. Oh well! I will do the scale on friday girls. I stayed around 1450 yesterday. Thanks to a friend whom treated me to the bagged popcorn with 150 cals. I shouldn't of ate it but it was so good. I need to buy some fresh veggies and fruits today. I like that new spray salad dressing it seems to work really well and saves calories for sure. So of course I will use them on something else. Hang in there girls . Oh Judy you must be enjoying that vacation you so well deserved. My work was crazy yesterday my high need client was number 1 issue of my day for sure. Seems like a good day can turn crazy in the matter of just a few min. I hope today is a little calmer. I was taking off friday but will save it to spend with my kids next month when their here from Maui. Take care and have a great day.

cacmsc- The pedometer I have does not do the mile calculation. They do have them though. The general rule is 2,000 steps equals 1 mile. I journal my food intake daily as well as my water and exercise. I did not look for bottoms afterall yesterday. I decided to get acessories for an outfit I had. I will try to get some pictures posted of me in it. It is a large slip dress. I never thought I would be able to fit into a large slipdress off the rack. I walked the mall 4 times yesterday and had eggs and a small greek salad. I am going to try the approach of increasing protein for the next 9 days to see if that helps me get to 155 by next friday.

Have a great day ladies

Morning chickies, I hope everyone is doing good. Tomorrow is weigh in and it should be fine. I know it's not possible to gain. I also track my exercise, food and water. All have been really good. Since we started on the May 27th goal, I haven't gone over my 1450 calories even once. I've also exercised everyday.

I learned something new yesterday. I've been walking outside (I live in mountains - think big hills for the daily walk) and it was hard getting up the first hill when I started a couple weeks ago. Now, I had been doing the WATP DVD since January and it was tough. So I was thinking that I wasn't getting a good workout with the DVDs since the hills were so hard. So I thought about buying a treadmill for the winters even though I don't really like them at all. But yesterday, it was raining when I was ready to exercise (actually it was the only 1/2 hour of rain yesterday) so I walked inside with the DVD. I was pooped by the time I was done I realized it was a good workout - just a different one. So the idea of a treadmill is going away. I like the WATP DVD so I will do that int he winter. But for the most part, I'll be walking outside for the spring, summer and fall. Anyway, I proved to myself that the WATP were a good workout.

Today is my last day at work this week. I have another 4 day weekend. Unfortunately those will be coming to an end in the next couple weeks. :( I don't have any plans but DH has to work this weekend (Guard weekend) so it's be quiet.

My Jeep is being naughty - died on Tuesday on the way home from work - DH fixed it. Died again yesterday in an intersection. DH towed it and found yesterday's problem so today I'm picking up a new starter for it. It's being bad. He fixes one thing and another breaks. Bad Jeep. :(

Carol, sounds good that your logging your food. As long as I put everything into my computer program, I stay the course. I don't log, I overeat. Pure and simple.

Nikki, I agree on the eggs. I have one every morning. Good protein and it last through most of the morning. I also have a glass of milk. Go dairy. :)

Talk to you later.

Hi Everyone, Sounds like everyone has their exercise program down pat! I agree that what ever works, stick with it! But I do like to mix it up a little sometimes. I have some great tapes that I use to work out also, for a change. and a stepper! I would love to have those hills to climb Marie! that would have to be my favorite thing to do. But it's all flat around here, i'm lucky to find a good path.

Maire, BAD jeep....bad! Isn't car problems the pits! My husband is a mechanic and I just take it for granted that the car is going to run well!

Nikki, Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Hope you can get them posted! I love eggs too! remember when they were BAD food! I think we need to use a little common sense with everything. Now they are a wonder food again. I also agree with eating breakfast. it reves up the matobolism, which doesn't work well untill we get some food!

cacsmc, sourkraut and hot dogs isn't too terrible. But it does have a lot of salt. But calorie wise not bad. And I love sourkraut! My mom makes the best homemade! I can't wait to go home and get some. I just make it in the slowcooker with some chopped sausages (low fat). Yum!

Everyone have a good day, Freda

I'm back from the beautiful beaches, much healthier than when I left, also probably a little fatter...but I don't care, I feel great! It was wonderful to lie on the sand, feel the warm trade windes and wade out into the cool Caribbean water. I got in some beach time at least five days, slept a lot and totally chilled out. Did a little shoppping, toured a few neighborhoods and the fainforest with some incredible community activists, but mostly took every day as it came, with no agenda. I feel 1,000 % better than I have at any point since early April. Now, time to get back to the journey, with the theme of "No Excuses!" First, get all the extra sugar, starch and rum out of my system:devil: then get back into my healthy routines, which I've actually been missing.

Nikki, good luck in reaching your goal. Your eating plan has a lot in common with my own.

Judy- Glad to hear you are feeling good.

Freda- I often have to force myself to eat breakfast. I hate eggs except if they are hard boiled so today I had a small pork chop.Who said you have to eat breakfast food at breakfast?

I did good today I had the porkchop, tuna with lemon juice for lunch, and a meatball and sparerib for dinner.

I weighed myself today and I'm still at 220... not happy about that... I gotta put forth a better effort... so I am giving myself a small goal. I want to lose 5 lbs by June 8th... is that obtainable? I am going to really get down to the wire.

I have an african/congolese dance class that truly works me out in a way that I haven't been worked out which is good but my problem is the next day I'm sore and don't feel like working out so I need to overcome that for real...

So yeah 5lbs.. I need to do it by June 8th..

I have been naughty like the jeep. I broke down too and had too many calories. I think walking upstairs with the girls to get lunch isn't too healthy. I made some bad choices and then added in my York Pattie. So boo hoo on me and the jeep! But we are both going to get fixed up and be running better in no time. Scale was up but my fault! Can't even get mad at the square thing. I had too much salt the last few days as well. Lets see if I can drown myself with healthy foods and water today. I will track the heck out of my intake today and exercise. Picking yourself up isn't so much fun but yah know the problem can be repaired just like the jeep! Marie we will be back in working condition soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be good today can't promise saturday at the wedding but before I go and the day after I will be. Thats the plan.
Nikki good for you with the black dress! Your going to look stunning. I am going to freeze cause our weather is cooler this week. I bought a dress with no sleeves. I am going to look for a little shawl. I might have to drink a little something to keep myself warm. It will be a fun wedding. Oh my daughter picked a date 6/23/07. So lots to do and plan of course. The wedding dress is bought she is beautiful in it. Nikki I most likely won't make my total loss for the 27th but it did help motivate me into losing some so thanks!
Judy sounds great I am glad you took the relaxation time you needed. Aren't the rainforest so beautiful. I enjoyed it in Maui as well. Nothing like laying on the beach hearing the waves crash in. Oh how I wish I were there now. Its been a crazy week at work and that may of added to my bad intake choices this week. I wasn't totally bad but could of been much better and would of saw results. I am still hopeful that some of the wt. is from salt intake being high. At any rate I plan on being a good girl today and getting on the square thing again in the a.m.
Take care and have a healthy friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
