Wink Day 2

Hi guys: thanks for the great welcome! You'll more than likely see me post at night, I'm not much of a morning person and I'm usually rushing to get out the door to work or to pick a client up in the a.m.

Day 1 I just researched and Day 2 I've decided what I want to do for diet and exercise. I'm going to make healthier choices diet wise, but also only eat 3 meals and 2 snacks but not eat past 730 pm. Exercise - I belong to a gym so I'm going to commit to going 3 times per week starting out and I hope to get to 5-6 times per week. I've started before going every day and I seem to wear out fast. What do u all think?

I'm a grandma too but mine call me "Nana". I'm in the south but was born and raised in the North.

Bonnie I'd like to get to "onederland" too, 20 lbs to go.

Meowee that was funny...I hope u'll be seeing lots less of me too...

Susan and Meowee...both of u r diabetics, I've been doing good on that score even though it runs in my family on both generations..I'm so thankful for that and hope u too have much success with u'r sugar levels

Freda u'r almost at goal weight, way to go? Tell me u'r secret!! I have to lose 80 lbs this time, I've lost 50 in the past, but I'm scared about being able to lose 80

4Joy I think I'll stick with just u guys for now...I get distracted when I try to do lots of sites-seems like u encourage each other about everything

Most of u seem to be doing well on exercising, please call me on it if i dont talk about exercising...I have one of those jobs that makes it hard to commit to certain days, but I can commit to 3 days out of 7, probably mostly fri sat and sun for my 3 and then one day a week...

Till tomorrow...

Going in to do the 4 mile super challenge. Love starting my day with Leslie!

Thanks all for the encouraging words. It really does help to know that we're all in this together. I've always found much support through sites such as these...whatever my struggle ( ie: quitting smoking etc. ) It makes one feel less alone and isolated in their endeavor...

Make it a great day ladies! Don't let anyone or anything bring you down. It is my daily challenge...one I strive for. It can be tough some days that's for sure! lol

Wowee, Wowee, Wow, Wow . . . I finally got the scale to move again . . . another two pounds have gone to ugly-pound-heaven this morning and I love it .

I finally figured out what was wrong with my Excel program I use to track calories, weight, blood sugar, etc. When I modified it to calculate calories I neglected to add back the fibre carbs. --- For tracking the glycemic impact on your diabetes you only deal with "net" carbs because fibre doesn't raise your glucose levels. --- But for tracking calories, all carbs have to be counted. Sooo, now I don't know whether to be because I've been understating my calories by about 12.5% and now I'll have to get used to about 200 calories less, or because now my rate of loss might speed up for a while. Whatever . . . nothing is worthwhile unless you have to work for it.

Shortrich . . . Good going, girl. Sounds like a plan has been coming together. Don't you just love it.

Susan . . . doing great on the exercise, kiddo. Keep up the good work. And "ditto" on your support-related comments. I really don't know how I'd keep it going without 3FC.

Well, got to get back to my stubborn little program re-write or I won't be able to track anything today. There's a in there right now and I can't get the new calcs to cross-balance. But, I'll get him out.

Have a great evening, gang. Keep up the good work. Here's a little dose of to help us all make it through the night. See you tomorrow.

Shortrich. So glad to have you join us. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Susan...That's the attitude!! Stay on program, exercise and look towards reaching your goal.

Freda...Sorry to hear you had that nasty stomach flu. WOW!! only one pound till you reach goal weight, how exciting!!!

Linda...I'm doing the happy dance for you! 2 lbs YIPEEEEE!!!

I'm having a teriffic week so far. Reaching my ST Paddy's goal early has really motivated me. I started working out to a couple new DVD's I bought. They are both Dance away the inches, but I like "Dance off the Inches" over Prevention "Dance It Off" Dance off the Inches is just more fun and it starts with tempo 1, then tempo 2 and finally tempo 3 for more insensity. So you are doing all three tempo's in your workout. Nothing like a little Cha Cha Cha or mambo for a workout if you like to dance, which I do.

Well ladies, I'll try to check back later on this evening.

Cheryl

Default hi

Good Morning All,
Had to work again yesterday but I have a few days off now. It was rough at work! One of the patients brought in a HUGE box of specialty cookies and another brought in canollies! This is in addition to all the candy and stuff already there! I said NO! Remember the commercial "just say no"? It wasn't easy watching every one else eat but, ya know, those things will always be there. It's not like i'll never see another cookie or canolli! So, pick your posion ladies. Choose when and where you will splurge!

Meow, A big 2 lb. loss for you! You're back in the groove! Our grandkids call us Mema and Papa. But' im with you, they can call me anything!

Luflic, Glad you found us! Don't want to lose you!

Short, You've decided on a plan and it sounds like a winner! That's basically what i'm doing to. I eat healthy food and portion sizes and exercise. This is something I'm going to be doing a long time and it's got to be something I can live with. I'm the oppisite of you: I was born in the south and live in the North! My secret to weight loss: Stop thinking that there is a secret!!!! Ain't so! There is no easy way. It's diet and exercise. I know we all long for a pill that will make us thin but it's our own will power that's going do it. WELL....maybe a little of Meow PIXIE DUST doesn't hurt.

Cheryl, have fun with those new DVD's! Are we going to be seeing you on "Dancing with the Stars" soon? I do that with my granddaughter sometimes, just turn on the music and dance. Actually I do it for fun and to try to wear her out, but you KNOW who gets worn out!

Everyone make it a good day, Freda

Yay Freda... glad you said NO!!! Feels good, doesn't it? In fact feels MUCH better than when we say yes and go around all day wishing we hadn't!!!

Good Morning from Atlantic Canada . . . another cold but sunny day. Nothing too much going on around here today. Hard to believe it's the middle of March already.

Hey Slim. I love your diet secret . . . or should I say, your diet non-secret. So true . . . there is no miracle or magic; just hard, slow work.

Together we can make it, gang. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. If we do enough of the right things we will see the rewards.

Freda!

Only one more pound to goal! Congratulations!

I weighed in this morning at WW, and lost 6.4 for the first week. I'm not bragging though, because that included the weight I had gained since I began weighing in with you all the first of the year. But now I'm going the right direction again and have a new low weight for 2006. (However, I'm just 1/2 pound lower than I was when I reported my Monday morning weight loss here.)

I just wanted to let you know that this first week back on track has been a good one for me. Counting points is helping, because even when I thought I was doing good, I was eating too much of even the healthy stuff, and adding Cool Whip and other little extras that really slowed my weight loss. As the saying goes, Calories do count, (no matter what they're in!)

Hi Ladies,

Gail...Great weight loss!! I find doing WW this time is much easier for me, guess I finally have my head where it need to be.

Jill...Have a wonderful trip!! Think of us up in cold country as you sit and bask in the sun by the beach and sip a tropical drink.

Linda...Hope you are having a great day as well. We got 3" of snow lastnight. Oh hurry up spring!!!

I have had another good day. Did about 20 minutes of Dance the Inches. It really kicks my butt!! But I'm determine to continue to exercise at least 5 days a week. Today was my HH birthday and we went to Paradiso so he could get his free birthdat dinner. I had a Fiesta Platter, which consisted of a mini tamale, mini beef chimi and a taco. Planned my points for this and I did good.

Have a good evening.

Cheryl

Checking in. Not doing so well mentally. I've been successful at a 2 pound weightloss per week ( ecstatic! )and have seen a stall ( even added a couple ) this past week or two. Trying to get past it both physically and mentally.

Been having one huge pity party over here for m'self and that ain't good! Nothing will work...my glucose results went up, not down...no matter how much i move or how much I don't eat doesn't make a difference...I'll never lose this abdominal obesity...blah, blah, blah. I hate when I get this way and it's so hard to boost myself back up!

The only thing I have learned is that I can't stay this way too long, have to get back on track as soon as possible, or it just gets harder to not give up. I think that has to be today! Wish me luck! lol
