It's me again . . . I've had so much water today I'm in the bathroom every hour. Guess I'd better stop now or I'll never get any sleep tonight.

Hey, Bonnie, you are looking good, girl. Next stop onederland. Oh I can hardly wait to get there . . . but I guess I'd better not try holding my breath until then. Such a long, long way to go. Trust me, it's not cold in the summer time. July and August usually average high 70's/low 80's and there's almost always a nice ocean breeze. I had to at your comment about hockey. Afraid I'm not a big sports fan but if I had to choose between your national favourite (baseball) and ours (hockey), I prefer yours.

Boy oh boy, Jill, you've got me thinking. I've always wondered if I'd like a gazelle but fear it might just end up keeping company with my treadmill (i.e., living folded up in the garage). I love the new avatar. Wowee, you are getting soooo close to goal. Don't you forget about the rest of us when you get there, girl.

Keep doing all the right stuff and I'll see you all tomorrow. Here's a dose of for the evening hours.

Good Morning . . . up and at-em, gang. Get that into you and say hello to the morning I'm sending your way. It's another sunny but windy one here. Hope yours is looking good, too. See you later.

Hi girls and Reggie~

Warm to Bonnie, Donna and Teckla, we’re all glad that you’ve found us.
Congrats to all who have lost weight.
Cheryl~ 2.4 lbs.- you better start preparing to get your hair colored girl, how about green to commemorate St. Paddy? I was just teasing Anyway, I bet that would be so cool.

Jill~ 2.5 lbs. and size 12 jeans - WTG, and I hope your affair with Gazelle will last forever. The Caymans is just around the corner so have a great time.

Hy~ 3 lbs.- good for you. Kudos for being able to stick to Atkins’ induction for such a long time, I’ll die without my bread, pasta and rice.

Bunti~ nice to have you back, hope you visit us more often. It’s awful with the swelling you got from just switching to another type of diet. Hopefully there’s no other underlying condition causing the swelling and that the results of your test are OK.

Susan~ I’m the exact opposite with regards to the tape measure/scale. I’m losing inches, but the lbs. are moving so slow or not at all.

Reggie~ oh, I just love Mexican food , have a good time in Reno.

Dance~ it's great that you've had a successful weekend exercise-wise, I miss my daily exercise.

I’ve been a vegetarian for over 7 years a long time ago, and I’ve been trying to go vegetarian again. So far, so good, except I love nuts and I just can’t seem to control the portions. And my daily exercise have to be suspended because I have sprained my ankle last tuesday and have been told to rest my ankle for 7-10 days, so I could at the earliest start exercising between March 15-17th. I took my dog out for a walk, the sun was out the beach was covered with snow and there was ice on the water, it was really beautiful. Anyway, I stepped on a mound of snow, and I guess I was too heavy and it collapsed and I somehow twisted and sprained my ankle.
Here is a picture of the beach taken with my cell.
I’ve decided to put my weekly weigh-ins on hold until I can start exercising again.

Have a great day everyone.

Smile Finally a loss to report!

Hello everyone!

I had to go look up my old posts to see when I last had a loss and it was exactly one month ago today. After that I really got off track and couldn't seem to get myself going again. Sooo...last weekend I decided to join Weight Watchers starting Thursday, the 9th. Of course in the days before I joined I had some "final" splurges, Mcdonalds, Donuts, etc.

By last Thursday, I had gained even more weight. But starting Thursday morning, I have been faithfully counting points as best I can, even had the dreaded church dinner yesterday, and since my last Monday weigh in with you all, I have now lost another pound!

That makes 10 pounds lost so far in 2006.

I am so glad I made the decision to join WW. It is close to home and I like the leader, and I got in just before the rate hike.

Elyn, I'm sorry to hear about you hurting your ankle. I have been laid up before with various sprains and one big bad break and it's no fun.

Nice to see all the new people aboard. Sorry, I haven't been active on this thread, but I have still been reading about how everyone is doing.

Jill I like your new picture. Keep talking about your exercise program; I need to get some motivation and inspiration to exercise more. It sounds like you are getting your money's worth out of your Gazelle.

It has been pouring rain here in Indiana , but yesterday was nice most of the day. Today's another rainy Monday...but today I don't feel like the song (Remember the Carpenters, Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down?)

I feel way up!

Have a great week!

to all Chickies!!

Day 41 on Atkins Induction and I've lost another 1 - 1/2 pound. Yea!! Total now at 11.5 lbs lost in 41 days

My achilles tendon is bigtime inflammed so I can't do anything involving my foot when it comes to working out. Staying with weight training and stretching for time being until the tendon heals.

Best wishes to each of you for a healthy week!

Thank goodness for my fingers and toes - at least I can count to twenty with those!

Elyn...Ouch!! Sorry to hear you sprained your ankle. Hope you are back at it real soon.

Gail... 1 lb Congrats on joining WW. I love my leader also!

Hy... 1 1/2 lbs That's AWESOME!! 41 days of Akins!!!

Linda...Glad you are having a good day and the weather is much nicer. The sun is shinning here, but oh does the wind have a nice bite!

I am for joy!! I had a 2 lb loss for the week and met my St Paddy's goal early. I'm doing the fatty fat gone dance Elyn, I'm getting my hair colored for my reward. Won't be green, but auburn with red highlights. Probably shock the heck out of my husband, but I'm too young to have a head full of grey.

Jill...Cool pictures!!! I looked up Tony Little on the web lastnight and decided my reward for when I reach 299 will be a gazelle. I can't wait!!

Hey gang, found out lastnight that HH and I will be grandparent for the 8th time. I hope it's a boy. We have 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, but I really don't care, just want the baby to be healthy.

Have a good one.

Glad to see you all up and about. . . I know, you'll still be ticking along after I'm down for the night.

Dance . . . Great going on the exercise.
Elynn . . . So sorry about the ankle. Hope it heals really quickly.
Gail . . . Good for picking yourself back up and for feeling so "up".
Hy . . . Congratulations of the loss and sorry to hear about the foot.

Nothing too exciting around here. It's been a beautiful day, but the forecast for tomorrow is snow, followed by freezing rain, followed by rain, all combined with high winds. Just be glad I can only send you 'westerners' the morning. You send me the weather . . . so how about some more good stuff.

Ordered a couple of exercise DVDs yesterday. WATP for Seniors (got to treat these old bones gently) and Yoga for the Rest of Us. Amazon tells me they won't be here until early to mid April. Goodness, what are they doing . . . recording them especially for me?

Have a good evening, gang. We'll see you soon. In the meantime . . . just keep doing the good stuff and the rewards will follow.

Hey Chicks!

Cheryl...a new Gazelle is a SUPER GOAL for you! And Congrats on getting to your St. Patty's Day weight ahead of schedule. At the rate you're going....you'll have your Gazelle in no time! It takes a coupla weeks to get it. The one on HSN is the best buy...believe me, (I've done all the research).....it comes with 3 or 4 DVD's & weights up to 350 are fine on it. Your new hair color sounds yummy! I'm getting new color this week....the same light auburn w/ golden hi-lites. Does wonders for the ol' psyche to have "new hair"!

Hy...too bad about your tendon, good job not giving up your exercising completely. Your weight loss is gradual...about the same as mine. Gail's too. I think we'll all benefit from the slower loss. Not as much as I'd like, but I feel good and my smaller jeans are fitting.

Elyn....the pic you posted is beautiful. So sorry tho' about your ankle. Can you do some weights? The 5 & 8 lb. dumbells are great for upper body stuff while you're waiting for that to heal. I hate when something happens to get me out of the "mode". Sometimes I just don't bounce back in. I'm counting on all of you to kick my butt when that happens!

Meowee, I got my Shaping Up with Weights for Dummies DVD today. Will try it out this week and let ya'll know. It's really BASIC and I'm sure I'll outgrow it soon, but I'm clueless when it comes to doing the weight moves correctly, so this will show me. I really can't BELIEVE I like doing this! It's easy to do in front of the TV. I sit on my Pilates ball. It's a nice addition to the Gazelle...and I'm already seeing the fatty crepe tightening up on my upper arms. I'm determined to get rid of these GRANNY arms!!! I love being a Gramma...I just don't want to LOOK like a GRANNY! I found really, REALLY (new) cheap dumbells at Play It Again Sports if ya'll are interested in getting some.

Hey Dance! Glad you're weekend was a good exercise one....mine was too. Feels pretty good...especially since I've always been pretty much of a slug!

Hello to Everyone else too!

Well....gots to run....HH has fixed a gorgeous dinner salad! Yum!

Default I'm New Today and 51

Hi everyone! Today is my 1st day finding this site and I need support urgently! I turned 51 last month, and I've been overweight for about 10 yrs. When I turned 40 yrs, my weight has gone from 140-now 219. I'm short, only 5 ft, and so this weight is really bad for me. I've tried so many diets over the last 10 yrs, and can't seem to stick to anything. For right now I just need support mostly - I cant seem to get past day 1 of any diet I choose. I'm hoping with support from you all and daily posting I can find some committment to diet and exercise. I have a heart problem, cholesterol problem, and obviously the excess weight is affecting my life style. My sister died at 45 and my father at 54 both of 1st heart attacks. My doctor says lose the weight or prepare my funeral. Yikes!! I am starting again tomorrow with exercise and just making a promise to eat healthier. Any suggestions and all support will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for being so wordy!

Hi Shortrich! Glad to have you here and glad you found the site! It's a great source of support and encouragement and you will find many of us here who understand and share your concerns. Just jump in anywhere... there are a lot of challenge threads or accountability for walking, exercise, diet or whatever appeals to you. You don't have to do a "lot" to join in... some people are just starting out and some have made their goal and are maintainers! But we are all a team and you are most welcome!

And Jill... yes! I feel so good today from all the exercise! Just have to keep it up!!! I see you are going on a Princess cruise in October. Mine is coming up pretty quickly to Alaska. Not time to get in shape really but doing all I can!!!

Going to make it a good day. Getting a bit discouraged as the scale has moved up the past few days. I don't know if it's water retention or my body's acting up again.

I panic quickly due to the fact that before I was diagnosed Insulin Resistant, it took 18 months of constant effort to lose 12 pounds. The minute the scale doesn't move forward, or quits moving, I start getting those old feelings again.

But, today, I'm pressing forward disregarding the scale. I have no choice. To not exercise or eat healthily is no longer an option for me. I have to lose this weight. I have to get my sugar in line. I just hope my body agrees!

Have a great day ladies!

Default hi

Good morning gang, I've been absent for a few days. I had to work the weekend and was sick with that stomach virus Sunday night and yesterday. I'm feeling a little better today. Everyone else in the family has had it and I thought I was going to get away with not getting it! The good news, I got on the scale this morning and i only need 1 more lb. to be at goal weight! I know it's probaly due to dehydration but I'm hoping it doesn't come back!

Short, Glad you found us. I know it's hard to get started on any diet and exercise plan (and they do go together) but it's much easier with a good support system and you've found it here. Visit often and post and let us know how you're doing and what we can do to help!

to bonnie, Gail, Hy and Cheryl for being BIG LOOSERS! keep up the good work!

Bonnie, You're almost there to "onederland"!

Gail, You're up and going again! Just remember how good it feels to "loose".

Cheryl, What can I say! You've met every goal you'e set for yourself, early! You are such an inspiration! And you'e going to look "HOT" with that new hair color! It's time to get mine colored too, too much grey showing. I'm getting blonder and blonder trying to cover it with streaks!

Jill, You're such a good advertisement for the Gazell Tony should have you on his commercial! I hope you enjoy the weights too. I really like them. I don't want flabby "grandma" arms either! And a lot of women do lower body exercise and neglect the upper body, which is weak any way in most women.

Dance, Glad to hear that you had such a good exercise weekend. It becomes a habit, doesn't it. I miss it when I can't execise!

Yorkie, Sorry to hear that you sprianed your ankel. Hope it's feeling better! Remember RICE! The pictures of your beach are beautiful!

Hy, Hope that achilles tendon is doing better! The weight training will keep you going intill you can get back on your feet!

Susan, I'm so glad to hear that you're determined to go forward no matter what that scale says. Even if you don't lose weight for awhile just try to remember that evey day you exercise and eat right your body is getting healthier. And the weight loss will come! Just hang in there!

Everyone, go make it a good day! Freda

Hi gang . . . Sorry I didn't give you your morning wake-up today. But here I am now. Our weather is not as bad as predicted. Dull and windy, but no snow, ice, or rain . . . yet.

Jill . . . I remember when my first granddaughter was born and my son asked what they should call me . . . Grandma or Granny. I told him I was not ready for either one. Ten years later . . . they can call me anything they like as long as they don't forget me. But just because we "are" doesn't mean we want to look the part.

Shortrich . . . You've found the right place, girl. This is a great site. There's so much going on all over, all the time. Here's a big for you. Hope we'll be seeing less of you lots more often.

Dance . . . Hi to you, too. Your comments are right on as usual.

Susan . . . take it from the resident diabetic . . . it is not easy! But together with all our 3FC friends we can do it. Keep moving forward and you can beat it before you need all the medications I have to take. Hang in there, girl. Here's a big dose of

Freda . . . we missed you. You must feel great to be sooooo close to goal. Can hardly wait to celebrate your victory with you.

I spent most of the day checking out the various sites like FitDay, Nutridiary, and a few others. I'm thinking about changing from my little homemade Excel program. Would greatly appreciate any comments/recommendations from all of you. I'm starting to get confused. Just before I came here to post, I checked out the info on 1/2 cup broccoli on three different programs and got three different answers. They were all close . . . but it's a little vegetable . . . shouldn't they be the same?

Anyway, see you soon. Keep doing all the right stuff and the rewards will follow.
